  • Google Maps Polygon - Not creating independent

    I am basically populating a map with polygons, I am using the flex sdk. The problem I am having is that each time it adds a parish it keep adding to the previous polygons and treating it as one. • Spring security - Reach users ID without passing it through every controller

    - by nilsi
    I have a design issue that I don't know how to solve. I'm using Spring 3.2.4 and Spring security 3.1.4. I have a Account table in my database that looks like this: create table Account (id identity, username varchar unique, password varchar not null, firstName varchar not null, lastName varchar not null, university varchar not null, primary key (id)); Until recently my username was just only a username but I changed it to be the email address instead since many users want to login with that instead. I have a header that I include on all my pages which got a link to the users profile like this: <a href="/project/users/<%= request.getUserPrincipal().getName()%>" class="navbar-link"><strong><%= request.getUserPrincipal().getName()%></strong></a> The problem is that <%= request.getUserPrincipal().getName()%> returns the email now, I don't want to link the user's with thier emails. Instead I want to use the id every user have to link to the profile. How do I reach the users id's from every page? I have been thinking of two solutions but I'm not sure: Change the principal to contain the id as well, don't know how to do this and having problem finding good information on the topic. Add a model attribute to all my controllers that contain the whole user but this would be really ugly, like this. Account account = entityManager.find(Account.class, email); model.addAttribute("account", account); There are more way's as well and I have no clue which one is to prefer. I hope it's clear enough and thank you for any help on this. ====== Edit according to answer ======= I edited Account to implement UserDetails, it now looks like this (will fix the auto generated stuff later): @Entity @Table(name="Account") public class Account implements UserDetails { @Id private int id; private String username; private String password; private String firstName; private String lastName; @ManyToOne private University university; public Account() { } public Account(String username, String password, String firstName, String lastName, University university) { this.username = username; this.password = password; this.firstName = firstName; this.lastName = lastName; this.university = university; } public String getUsername() { return username; } public String getPassword() { return password; } public String getFirstName() { return firstName; } public String getLastName() { return lastName; } public void setUsername(String username) { this.username = username; } public void setPassword(String password) { this.password = password; } public void setFirstName(String firstName) { this.firstName = firstName; } public void setLastName(String lastName) { this.lastName = lastName; } public University getUniversity() { return university; } public void setUniversity(University university) { this.university = university; } public int getId() { return id; } public void setId(int id) { this.id = id; } @Override public Collection<? extends GrantedAuthority> getAuthorities() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return null; } @Override public boolean isAccountNonExpired() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return false; } @Override public boolean isAccountNonLocked() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return false; } @Override public boolean isCredentialsNonExpired() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return false; } @Override public boolean isEnabled() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return true; } } I also added <%@ taglib prefix="sec" uri="http://www.springframework.org/security/tags" %> To my jsp files and trying to reach the id by <sec:authentication property="principal.id" /> This gives me the following org.springframework.beans.NotReadablePropertyException: Invalid property 'principal.id' of bean class [org.springframework.security.authentication.UsernamePasswordAuthenticationToken]: Bean property 'principal.id' is not readable or has an invalid getter method: Does the return type of the getter match the parameter type of the setter? ====== Edit 2 according to answer ======= I based my application on spring social samples and I never had to change anything until now. This are the files I think are relevant, please tell me if theres something you need to see besides this. This is starting to be something else compared to my initial question, I should maybe start another question. Sorry for my lack of experience in this. I have to read up.

  • Metro: Namespaces and Modules

    - by Stephen.Walther
    The goal of this blog entry is to describe how you can use the Windows JavaScript (WinJS) library to create namespaces. In particular, you learn how to use the WinJS.Namespace.define() and WinJS.Namespace.defineWithParent() methods. You also learn how to hide private methods by using the module pattern. Why Do We Need Namespaces? Before we do anything else, we should start by answering the question: Why do we need namespaces? What function do they serve? Do they just add needless complexity to our Metro applications? After all, plenty of JavaScript libraries do just fine without introducing support for namespaces. For example, jQuery has no support for namespaces and jQuery is the most popular JavaScript library in the universe. If jQuery can do without namespaces, why do we need to worry about namespaces at all? Namespaces perform two functions in a programming language. First, namespaces prevent naming collisions. In other words, namespaces enable you to create more than one object with the same name without conflict. For example, imagine that two companies – company A and company B – both want to make a JavaScript shopping cart control and both companies want to name the control ShoppingCart. By creating a CompanyA namespace and CompanyB namespace, both companies can create a ShoppingCart control: a CompanyA.ShoppingCart and a CompanyB.ShoppingCart control. The second function of a namespace is organization. Namespaces are used to group related functionality even when the functionality is defined in different physical files. For example, I know that all of the methods in the WinJS library related to working with classes can be found in the WinJS.Class namespace. Namespaces make it easier to understand the functionality available in a library. If you are building a simple JavaScript application then you won’t have much reason to care about namespaces. If you need to use multiple libraries written by different people then namespaces become very important. Using WinJS.Namespace.define() In the WinJS library, the most basic method of creating a namespace is to use the WinJS.Namespace.define() method. This method enables you to declare a namespace (of arbitrary depth). The WinJS.Namespace.define() method has the following parameters: · name – A string representing the name of the new namespace. You can add nested namespace by using dot notation · members – An optional collection of objects to add to the new namespace For example, the following code sample declares two new namespaces named CompanyA and CompanyB.Controls. Both namespaces contain a ShoppingCart object which has a checkout() method: // Create CompanyA namespace with ShoppingCart WinJS.Namespace.define("CompanyA"); CompanyA.ShoppingCart = { checkout: function (){ return "Checking out from A"; } }; // Create CompanyB.Controls namespace with ShoppingCart WinJS.Namespace.define( "CompanyB.Controls", { ShoppingCart: { checkout: function(){ return "Checking out from B"; } } } ); // Call CompanyA ShoppingCart checkout method console.log(CompanyA.ShoppingCart.checkout()); // Writes "Checking out from A" // Call CompanyB.Controls checkout method console.log(CompanyB.Controls.ShoppingCart.checkout()); // Writes "Checking out from B" In the code above, the CompanyA namespace is created by calling WinJS.Namespace.define(“CompanyA”). Next, the ShoppingCart is added to this namespace. The namespace is defined and an object is added to the namespace in separate lines of code. A different approach is taken in the case of the CompanyB.Controls namespace. The namespace is created and the ShoppingCart object is added to the namespace with the following single line of code: WinJS.Namespace.define( "CompanyB.Controls", { ShoppingCart: { checkout: function(){ return "Checking out from B"; } } } ); Notice that CompanyB.Controls is a nested namespace. The top level namespace CompanyB contains the namespace Controls. You can declare a nested namespace using dot notation and the WinJS library handles the details of creating one namespace within the other. After the namespaces have been defined, you can use either of the two shopping cart controls. You call CompanyA.ShoppingCart.checkout() or you can call CompanyB.Controls.ShoppingCart.checkout(). Using WinJS.Namespace.defineWithParent() The WinJS.Namespace.defineWithParent() method is similar to the WinJS.Namespace.define() method. Both methods enable you to define a new namespace. The difference is that the defineWithParent() method enables you to add a new namespace to an existing namespace. The WinJS.Namespace.defineWithParent() method has the following parameters: · parentNamespace – An object which represents a parent namespace · name – A string representing the new namespace to add to the parent namespace · members – An optional collection of objects to add to the new namespace The following code sample demonstrates how you can create a root namespace named CompanyA and add a Controls child namespace to the CompanyA parent namespace: WinJS.Namespace.define("CompanyA"); WinJS.Namespace.defineWithParent(CompanyA, "Controls", { ShoppingCart: { checkout: function () { return "Checking out"; } } } ); console.log(CompanyA.Controls.ShoppingCart.checkout()); // Writes "Checking out" One significant advantage of using the defineWithParent() method over the define() method is the defineWithParent() method is strongly-typed. In other words, you use an object to represent the base namespace instead of a string. If you misspell the name of the object (CompnyA) then you get a runtime error. Using the Module Pattern When you are building a JavaScript library, you want to be able to create both public and private methods. Some methods, the public methods, are intended to be used by consumers of your JavaScript library. The public methods act as your library’s public API. Other methods, the private methods, are not intended for public consumption. Instead, these methods are internal methods required to get the library to function. You don’t want people calling these internal methods because you might need to change them in the future. JavaScript does not support access modifiers. You can’t mark an object or method as public or private. Anyone gets to call any method and anyone gets to interact with any object. The only mechanism for encapsulating (hiding) methods and objects in JavaScript is to take advantage of functions. In JavaScript, a function determines variable scope. A JavaScript variable either has global scope – it is available everywhere – or it has function scope – it is available only within a function. If you want to hide an object or method then you need to place it within a function. For example, the following code contains a function named doSomething() which contains a nested function named doSomethingElse(): function doSomething() { console.log("doSomething"); function doSomethingElse() { console.log("doSomethingElse"); } } doSomething(); // Writes "doSomething" doSomethingElse(); // Throws ReferenceError You can call doSomethingElse() only within the doSomething() function. The doSomethingElse() function is encapsulated in the doSomething() function. The WinJS library takes advantage of function encapsulation to hide all of its internal methods. All of the WinJS methods are defined within self-executing anonymous functions. Everything is hidden by default. Public methods are exposed by explicitly adding the public methods to namespaces defined in the global scope. Imagine, for example, that I want a small library of utility methods. I want to create a method for calculating sales tax and a method for calculating the expected ship date of a product. The following library encapsulates the implementation of my library in a self-executing anonymous function: (function (global) { // Public method which calculates tax function calculateTax(price) { return calculateFederalTax(price) + calculateStateTax(price); } // Private method for calculating state tax function calculateStateTax(price) { return price * 0.08; } // Private method for calculating federal tax function calculateFederalTax(price) { return price * 0.02; } // Public method which returns the expected ship date function calculateShipDate(currentDate) { currentDate.setDate(currentDate.getDate() + 4); return currentDate; } // Export public methods WinJS.Namespace.define("CompanyA.Utilities", { calculateTax: calculateTax, calculateShipDate: calculateShipDate } ); })(this); // Show expected ship date var shipDate = CompanyA.Utilities.calculateShipDate(new Date()); console.log(shipDate); // Show price + tax var price = 12.33; var tax = CompanyA.Utilities.calculateTax(price); console.log(price + tax); In the code above, the self-executing anonymous function contains four functions: calculateTax(), calculateStateTax(), calculateFederalTax(), and calculateShipDate(). The following statement is used to expose only the calcuateTax() and the calculateShipDate() functions: // Export public methods WinJS.Namespace.define("CompanyA.Utilities", { calculateTax: calculateTax, calculateShipDate: calculateShipDate } ); Because the calculateTax() and calcuateShipDate() functions are added to the CompanyA.Utilities namespace, you can call these two methods outside of the self-executing function. These are the public methods of your library which form the public API. The calculateStateTax() and calculateFederalTax() methods, on the other hand, are forever hidden within the black hole of the self-executing function. These methods are encapsulated and can never be called outside of scope of the self-executing function. These are the internal methods of your library. Summary The goal of this blog entry was to describe why and how you use namespaces with the WinJS library. You learned how to define namespaces using both the WinJS.Namespace.define() and WinJS.Namespace.defineWithParent() methods. We also discussed how to hide private members and expose public members using the module pattern.

  • Java Builder pattern with Generic type bounds

    - by I82Much
    Hi all, I'm attempting to create a class with many parameters, using a Builder pattern rather than telescoping constructors. I'm doing this in the way described by Joshua Bloch's Effective Java, having private constructor on the enclosing class, and a public static Builder class. The Builder class ensures the object is in a consistent state before calling build(), at which point it delegates the construction of the enclosing object to the private constructor. Thus public class Foo { // Many variables private Foo(Builder b) { // Use all of b's variables to initialize self } public static final class Builder { public Builder(/* required variables */) { } public Builder var1(Var var) { // set it return this; } public Foo build() { return new Foo(this); } } } I then want to add type bounds to some of the variables, and thus need to parametrize the class definition. I want the bounds of the Foo class to be the same as that of the Builder class. public class Foo<Q extends Quantity> { private final Unit<Q> units; // Many variables private Foo(Builder<Q> b) { // Use all of b's variables to initialize self } public static final class Builder<Q extends Quantity> { private Unit<Q> units; public Builder(/* required variables */) { } public Builder units(Unit<Q> units) { this.units = units; return this; } public Foo build() { return new Foo<Q>(this); } } } This compiles fine, but the compiler is allowing me to do things I feel should be compiler errors. E.g. public static final Foo.Builder<Acceleration> x_Body_AccelField = new Foo.Builder<Acceleration>() .units(SI.METER) .build(); Here the units argument is not Unit<Acceleration> but Unit<Length>, but it is still accepted by the compiler. What am I doing wrong here? I want to ensure at compile time that the unit types match up correctly.

In the first post, JMS Step 1 - How to Create a Simple JMS Queue in Weblogic Server 11g we looked at how to create a JMS queue and its dependent objects in WebLogic Server. In the previous post, JMS Step 2 - Using the QueueSend.java Sample Program to Send a Message to a JMS Queue I showed how to write a message to that JMS queue using the QueueSend.java sample program. In this article, we will use a similar sample, the QueueReceive.java program to read the message from that queue. Please review the previous posts if you have not already done so, as they contain prerequisites for executing the sample in this article. 1. Source code The following java code will be used to read the message(s) from the JMS queue. As with the previous example, it is based on a sample program shipped with the WebLogic Server installation. The sample is not installed by default, but needs to be installed manually using the WebLogic Server Custom Installation option, together with many, other useful samples. You can either copy-paste the following code into your editor, or install all the samples. The knowledge base article in My Oracle Support: How To Install WebLogic Server and JMS Samples in WLS 10.3.x (Doc ID 1499719.1) describes how to install the samples. QueueReceive.java package examples.jms.queue; import java.util.Hashtable; import javax.jms.*; import javax.naming.Context; import javax.naming.InitialContext; import javax.naming.NamingException; /** * This example shows how to establish a connection to * and receive messages from a JMS queue. How to Use This Class 2.1 From the file system on Linux This section describes how to use the class from the file system of a WebLogic Server installation. Log in to a machine with a WebLogic Server installation and create a directory to contain the source and code matching the package name, e.g. span$HOME/examples/jms/queue. Copy the above QueueReceive.java file to this directory. Set the CLASSPATH and environment to match the WebLogic server environment. Go to $MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/domains/base_domain/bin  and execute . ./setDomainEnv.sh Collect the following information required to run the script: The JNDI name of the JMS queue to use In the WebLogic server console > Services > Messaging > JMS Modules > Module name, (e.g. TestJMSModule) > JMS queue name, (e.g. TestJMSQueue) select the queue and note its JNDI name, e.g. jms/TestJMSQueue The JNDI name of the connection factory to use to connect to the queue Follow the same path as above to get the connection factory for the above queue, e.g. TestConnectionFactory and its JNDI name e.g. jms/TestConnectionFactory The URL and port of the WebLogic server running the above queue Check the JMS server for the above queue and the managed server it is targeted to, for example soa_server1. Now find the port this managed server is listening on, by looking at its entry under Environment > Servers in the WLS console, e.g. 8001 The URL for the server to be passed to the QueueReceive program will therefore be t3://host.domain:8001 e.g. t3://jbevans-lx.de.oracle.com:8001 Edit Queue Receive .java and enter the above queue name and connection factory respectively under ... public final static String JMS_FACTORY="jms/TestConnectionFactory"; ... public final static String QUEUE="jms/TestJMSQueue"; ... Compile Queue Receive .java using javac Queue Receive .java Go to the source’s top-level directory and execute it using java examples.jms.queue.Queue Receive   t3://jbevans-lx.de.oracle.com:8001 This will print a message that it is ready to receive messages or to send a “quit” message to end. The program will read all messages in the queue and print them to the standard output until it receives a message with the payload “quit”. 2.2 From JDeveloper The steps from JDeveloper are the same as those used for the previous program QueueSend.java, which is used to send a message to the queue. So we won't repeat them here. Please see the previous blog post at JMS Step 2 - Using the QueueSend.java Sample Program to Send a Message to a JMS Queue and apply the same steps in that example to the QueueReceive.java program. This concludes the example. In the following post we will create a BPEL process which writes a message based on an XML schema to the queue.

  • Constant Memory Leak in SpeechSynthesizer

    - by DudeFX
    I have developed a project which I would like to release which uses c#, WPF and the System.Speech.Synthesizer object. The issue preventing the release of this project is that whenever SpeakAsync is called it leaves a memory leak that grows to the point of eventual failure. I believe I have cleaned up properly after using this object, but cannot find a cure. I have run the program through Ants Memory Profiler and it reports that WAVEHDR and WaveHeader is growing with each call. I have created a sample project to try to pinpoint the cause, but am still at a loss. Any help would be appreciated. The project uses VS2008 and is a c# WPF project that targets .NET 3.5 and Any CPU. You need to manually add a reference to System.Speech. Here is the Code: <Window x:Class="SpeechTest.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical"> <Button Content="Start Speaking" Click="Start_Click" Margin="10" /> <Button Content="Stop Speaking" Click="Stop_Click" Margin="10" /> <Button Content="Exit" Click="Exit_Click" Margin="10"/> </StackPanel> </Grid> // Start of code behind using System; using System.Windows; using System.Speech.Synthesis; namespace SpeechTest { public partial class Window1 : Window { // speak setting private bool speakingOn = false; private int curLine = 0; private string [] speakLines = { "I am wondering", "Why whenever Speech is called", "A memory leak occurs", "If you run this long enough", "It will eventually crash", "Any help would be appreciated" }; public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); } private void Start_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { speakingOn = true; SpeakLine(); } private void Stop_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { speakingOn = false; } private void Exit_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { App.Current.Shutdown(); } private void SpeakLine() { if (speakingOn) { // Create our speak object SpeechSynthesizer spk = new SpeechSynthesizer(); spk.SpeakCompleted += new EventHandler(spk_Completed); // Speak the line spk.SpeakAsync(speakLines[curLine]); } } public void spk_Completed(object sender, SpeakCompletedEventArgs e) { if (sender is SpeechSynthesizer) { // get access to our Speech object SpeechSynthesizer spk = (SpeechSynthesizer)sender; // Clean up after speaking (thinking the event handler is causing the memory leak) spk.SpeakCompleted -= new EventHandler(spk_Completed); // Dispose the speech object spk.Dispose(); // bump it curLine++; // check validity if (curLine = speakLines.Length) { // back to the beginning curLine = 0; } // Speak line SpeakLine(); } } } } I run this program on Windows 7 64 bit and it will run and eventually halt when attempting to create a new SpeechSynthesizer object. When run on Windows Vista 64 bit the memory will grow from a starting point of 34k to so far about 400k and growing. Can anyone see anything in the code that might be causing this, or is this an issue with the Speech object itself. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Problem Registering a Generic Repository with Windsor IoC

    - by Robin
    I’m fairly new to IoC and perhaps my understanding of generics and inheritance is not strong enough for what I’m trying to do. You might find this to be a mess. I have a generic Repository base class: public class Repository<TEntity> where TEntity : class, IEntity { private Table<TEntity> EntityTable; private string _connectionString; private string _userName; public string UserName { get { return _userName; } set { _userName = value; } } public Repository() {} public Repository(string connectionString) { _connectionString = connectionString; EntityTable = (new DataContext(connectionString)).GetTable<TEntity>(); } public Repository(string connectionString, string userName) { _connectionString = connectionString; _userName = userName; EntityTable = (new DataContext(connectionString)).GetTable<TEntity>(); } // Data access methods ... ... } and a SqlClientRepository that inherits Repository: public class SqlClientRepository : Repository<Client> { private Table<Client> ClientTable; private string _connectionString; private string _userName; public SqlClientRepository() {} public SqlClientRepository(string connectionString) : base(connectionString) { _connectionString = connectionString; ClientTable = (new DataContext(connectionString)).GetTable<Client>(); } public SqlClientRepository(string connectionString, string userName) : base(connectionString, userName) { _connectionString = connectionString; _userName = userName; ClientTable = (new DataContext(connectionString)).GetTable<Client>(); } // data access methods unique to Client repository ... } The Repository class provides some generics methods like Save, Delete, etc, that I want all my repository derived classes to share. The TEntity parameter is constrained to the IEntity interface: public interface IEntity { int Id { get; set; } NameValueCollection GetSaveRuleViolations(); NameValueCollection GetDeleteRuleViolations(); } This allows the Repository class to reference these methods within its Save and Delete methods. Unit tests work fine on mock SqlClientRepository instances as well as live unit tests on the real database. However, in the MVC context: public class ClientController : Controller { private SqlClientRepository _clientRepository; public ClientController(SqlClientRepository clientRepository) { this._clientRepository = clientRepository; } public ClientController() { } // ViewResult methods ... ... } ... _clientRepository is always null. I’m using Windor Castle as an IoC container. Here is the configuration: <component id="ClientRepository" service="DomainModel.Concrete.Repository`1[[DomainModel.Entities.Client, DomainModel]], DomainModel" type="DomainModel.Concrete.SqlClientRepository, DomainModel" lifestyle="PerWebRequest"> <parameters> <connectionString>#{myConnStr}</connectionString> </parameters> </component> I’ve tried many variations in the Windsor configuration file. I suspect it’s more of a design flaw in the above code. As I'm looking over my code, it occurs to me that when registering components with an IoC container, perhaps service must always be an interface. Could this be it? Does anybody have a suggestion? Thanks in advance.

  • What could be causing a "Cannot access a disposed object" error in WCF?

    - by Nima
    I am using the following code: private WSHttpBinding ws; private EndpointAddress Srv_Login_EndPoint; private ChannelFactory<Srv_Login.Srv_ILogin> Srv_LoginChannelFactory; private Srv_Login.Srv_ILogin LoginService; The Login is my constructor: public Login() { InitializeComponent(); ws = new WSHttpBinding(); Srv_Login_EndPoint = new EndpointAddress("http://localhost:2687/Srv_Login.svc"); Srv_LoginChannelFactory = new ChannelFactory<Srv_Login.Srv_ILogin>(ws, Srv_Login_EndPoint); } And I'm using service this way: private void btnEnter_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { LoginService = Srv_LoginChannelFactory.CreateChannel(); Srv_Login.LoginResult res = new Srv_Login.LoginResult(); res = LoginService.IsAuthenticated(txtUserName.Text.Trim(), txtPassword.Text.Trim()); if (res.Status == true) { int Id = int.Parse(res.Result.ToString()); } else { lblMessage.Text = "Not Enter"; } } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message); } finally { Srv_LoginChannelFactory.Close(); } } When the user enters a valid username and password, everything is fine. When the user enters a wrong username and password, the first try correctly displays a "Not Enter" message, but on the second try, the user sees this message: {System.ObjectDisposedException: Cannot access a disposed object. Object name: 'System.ServiceModel.ChannelFactory`1[Test_Poosesh.Srv_Login.Srv_ILogin]'. at System.ServiceModel.Channels.CommunicationObject.ThrowIfDisposed() at System.ServiceModel.ChannelFactory.EnsureOpened() at System.ServiceModel.ChannelFactory`1.CreateChannel(EndpointAddress address, Uri via) at System.ServiceModel.ChannelFactory`1.CreateChannel() How can I fix my code to prevent this error from occurring?

  • How to handle EntityExistsException properly?

    - by Ivan Yatskevich
    I have two entities: Question and FavoritesCounter. FavoritesCounter should be created when the question is added to favorites for the first time. Consider a use case when two users tries to add a question to favorites simultaneously - this will cause EntityExistsException when entityManager.persist(counter) is called for the second user. But the code below doesn't work, because when EntityExistsException is thrown, container marks transaction as rollback only and attempt to return getFavoritesCounter(question) fails with javax.resource.ResourceException: Transaction is not active @Stateless public class FavoritesServiceBean implements FavoritesService { ... public void addToFavorites(Question question) { FavoritesCounter counter = getCounter(question); if (counter == null) { counter = createCounter(question); } //increase counter } private FavoritesCounter createCounter(Question question) { try { FavoritesCounter counter = new FavoritesCounter(); counter.setQuestion(question); entityManager.persist(counter); entityManager.flush(); return counter; } catch (EntityExistsException e) { return getFavoritesCounter(question); } } private FavoritesCounter getFavoritesCounter(Question question) { Query counterQuery = entityManager.createQery("SELECT counter FROM FavoritesCounter counter WHERE counter.question = :question"); counterQuery.setParameter("question", question); List<FavoritesCounter> result = counterQuery.getResultList(); if (result.isEmpty()) return null; return result.get(0); } } Question @Entity public class Question implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) private Long id; //getter and setter for id } FavoritesCounter @Entity public class FavoritesCounter implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) private Long id; @OneToOne @Column(unique = true) private Question question; //getter and setter } What is the best way to handle such a situation - return already created entity after EntityExistsException?

  • Problem with System.Diagnostics.Process RedirectStandardOutput to appear in Winforms Textbox in real

    - by Jonathan Websdale
    I'm having problems with the redirected output from a console application being presented in a Winforms textbox in real-time. The messages are being produced line by line however as soon as interaction with the Form is called for, nothing appears to be displayed. Following the many examples on both Stackoverflow and other forums, I can't seem to get the redirected output from the process to display in the textbox on the form until the process completes. By adding debug lines to the 'stringWriter_StringWritten' method and writing the redirected messages to the debug window I can see the messages arriving during the running of the process but these messages will not appear on the form's textbox until the process completes. Grateful for any advice on this. Here's an extract of the code public partial class RunExternalProcess : Form { private static int numberOutputLines = 0; private static MyStringWriter stringWriter; public RunExternalProcess() { InitializeComponent(); // Create the output message writter RunExternalProcess.stringWriter = new MyStringWriter(); stringWriter.StringWritten += new EventHandler(stringWriter_StringWritten); System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo startInfo = new System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo(); startInfo.FileName = "myCommandLineApp.exe"; startInfo.UseShellExecute = false; startInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true; startInfo.CreateNoWindow = true; startInfo.WindowStyle = System.Diagnostics.ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden; using (var pProcess = new System.Diagnostics.Process()) { pProcess.StartInfo = startInfo; pProcess.OutputDataReceived += new System.Diagnostics.DataReceivedEventHandler(RunExternalProcess.Process_OutputDataReceived); pProcess.EnableRaisingEvents = true; try { pProcess.Start(); pProcess.BeginOutputReadLine(); pProcess.BeginErrorReadLine(); pProcess.WaitForExit(); } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.ToString()); } finally { pProcess.OutputDataReceived -= new System.Diagnostics.DataReceivedEventHandler(RunExternalProcess.Process_OutputDataReceived); } } } private static void Process_OutputDataReceived(object sender, System.Diagnostics.DataReceivedEventArgs e) { if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(e.Data)) { RunExternalProcess.OutputMessage(e.Data); } } private static void OutputMessage(string message) { RunExternalProcess.stringWriter.WriteLine("[" + RunExternalProcess.numberOutputLines++.ToString() + "] - " + message); } private void stringWriter_StringWritten(object sender, EventArgs e) { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(((MyStringWriter)sender).GetStringBuilder().ToString()); SetProgressTextBox(((MyStringWriter)sender).GetStringBuilder().ToString()); } private delegate void SetProgressTextBoxCallback(string text); private void SetProgressTextBox(string text) { if (this.ProgressTextBox.InvokeRequired) { SetProgressTextBoxCallback callback = new SetProgressTextBoxCallback(SetProgressTextBox); this.BeginInvoke(callback, new object[] { text }); } else { this.ProgressTextBox.Text = text; this.ProgressTextBox.Select(this.ProgressTextBox.Text.Length, 0); this.ProgressTextBox.ScrollToCaret(); } } } public class MyStringWriter : System.IO.StringWriter { // Define the event. public event EventHandler StringWritten; public MyStringWriter() : base() { } public MyStringWriter(StringBuilder sb) : base(sb) { } public MyStringWriter(StringBuilder sb, IFormatProvider formatProvider) : base(sb, formatProvider) { } public MyStringWriter(IFormatProvider formatProvider) : base(formatProvider) { } protected virtual void OnStringWritten() { if (StringWritten != null) { StringWritten(this, EventArgs.Empty); } } public override void Write(char value) { base.Write(value); this.OnStringWritten(); } public override void Write(char[] buffer, int index, int count) { base.Write(buffer, index, count); this.OnStringWritten(); } public override void Write(string value) { base.Write(value); this.OnStringWritten(); } }

  • Using selection sort in java to sort floats

    - by user334046
    Hey, I need to sort an array list of class house by a float field in a certain range. This is my code for the selection sort: public ArrayList<House> sortPrice(ArrayList<House> x,float y, float z){ ArrayList<House> xcopy = new ArrayList<House>(); for(int i = 0; i<x.size(); i++){ if(x.get(i).myPriceIsLessThanOrEqualTo(z) && x.get(i).myPriceIsGreaterThanOrEqualTo(y)){ xcopy.add(x.get(i)); } } ArrayList<House> price= new ArrayList<House>(); while(xcopy.size()>0){ House min = xcopy.get(0); for(int i = 1; i < xcopy.size();i++){ House current = xcopy.get(i); if (current.myPriceIsGreaterThanOrEqualTo(min.getPrice())){ min = current; } } price.add(min); xcopy.remove(min); } return price; } Here is what the house class looks like: public class House { private int numBedRs; private int sqft; private float numBathRs; private float price; private static int idNumOfMostRecentHouse = 0; private int id; public House(int bed,int ft, float bath, float price){ sqft = ft; numBathRs = bath; numBedRs = bed; this.price = price; idNumOfMostRecentHouse++; id = idNumOfMostRecentHouse; } public boolean myPriceIsLessThanOrEqualTo(float y){ if(Math.abs(price - y)<0.000001){ return true; } return false; } public boolean myPriceIsGreaterThanOrEqualTo(float b){ if(Math.abs(b-price)>0.0000001){ return true; } return false; } When i call looking for houses in range 260000.50 to 300000 I only get houses that are at the top of the range even though I have a lower value at 270000. Can someone help?

  • Vsync in Flex/Flash/AS3?

    - by oshyshko
    I work on a 2D shooter game with lots of moving objects on the screen (bullets etc). I use BitmapData.copyPixels(...) to render entire screen to a buffer:BitmapData. Then I "copyPixels" from "buffer" to screen:BitmapData. The framerate is 60. private var bitmap:Bitmap = new Bitmap(); private var buffer:Bitmap = new Bitmap(); private function start():void { addChild(bitmap); } private function onEnterFrame():void { // render into "buffer" // copy "buffer" -> "bitmap" } The problem is that the sprites are tearing apart: some part of a sprite got shifted horizontally. It looks like a PC game with VSYNC turned off. Did anyone solve this problem? UPDATE: the question is not about performance, but about getting rid of screen tearing. [!] UPDATE: I've created another question and here you may try both implementations: using Flash way or BitmapData+copyPixels()

  • running multi threads in Java

    - by owca
    My task is to simulate activity of couple of persons. Each of them has few activities to perform in some random time: fast (0-5s), medium(5-10s), slow(10-20s) and very slow(20-30s). Each person performs its task independently in the same time. At the beginning of new task I should print it's random time, start the task and then after time passes show next task's time and start it. I've written run() function that counts time, but now it looks like threads are done one after another and not in the same time or maybe they're just printed in this way. public class People{ public static void main(String[] args){ Task tasksA[]={new Task("washing","fast"), new Task("reading","slow"), new Task("shopping","medium")}; Task tasksM[]={new Task("sleeping zzzzzzzzzz","very slow"), new Task("learning","slow"), new Task(" :** ","slow"), new Task("passing an exam","slow") }; Task tasksJ[]={new Task("listening music","medium"), new Task("doing nothing","slow"), new Task("walking","medium") }; BusyPerson friends[]={ new BusyPerson("Alice",tasksA), new BusyPerson("Mark",tasksM), new BusyPerson("John",tasksJ)}; System.out.println("STARTING....................."); for(BusyPerson f: friends) (new Thread(f)).start(); System.out.println("DONE........................."); } } class Task { private String task; private int time; private Task[]tasks; public Task(String t, String s){ task = t; Speed speed = new Speed(); time = speed.getSpeed(s); } public Task(Task[]tab){ Task[]table=new Task[tab.length]; for(int i=0; i < tab.length; i++){ table[i] = tab[i]; } this.tasks = table; } } class Speed { private static String[]hows = {"fast","medium","slow","very slow"}; private static int[]maxs = {5000, 10000, 20000, 30000}; public Speed(){ } public static int getSpeed( String speedString){ String s = speedString; int up_limit=0; int down_limit=0; int time=0; //get limits of time for(int i=0; i<hows.length; i++){ if(s.equals(hows[i])){ up_limit = maxs[i]; if(i>0){ down_limit = maxs[i-1]; } else{ down_limit = 0; } } } //get random time within the limits Random rand = new Random(); time = rand.nextInt(up_limit) + down_limit; return time; } } class BusyPerson implements Runnable { private String name; private Task[] person_tasks; private BusyPerson[]persons; public BusyPerson(String s, Task[]t){ name = s; person_tasks = t; } public BusyPerson(BusyPerson[]tab){ BusyPerson[]table=new BusyPerson[tab.length]; for(int i=0; i < tab.length; i++){ table[i] = tab[i]; } this.persons = table; } public void run() { int time = 0; double t1=0; for(Task t: person_tasks){ t1 = (double)t.time/1000; System.out.println(name+" is...   • hibernate criteria OneToMany, ManyToOne and List

    - by jrsokolow
    Hi, I have three entities ClassA, ClassB and ClassC. ClassA { ... @Id @GeneratedValue @Column(name = "a_id") private long id; ... @OneToMany(cascade={CascadeType.ALL}) @JoinColumn(name="a_id") private List<ClassB> bbb; ... } ClassB { ... @ManyToOne private ClassC ccc; ... } ClassC { ... private String name; ... } I want to filter by hibernate criteria ClassA by 'name' member of ClassC. So I want to obtain by hibernate criteria list of ClassA objects which have inside ClassC objects with specified name. Problem is that access to ClassC objects is through ClassB list. I tried something like this but it does not work: crit.createCriteria("bbb").createCriteria("ccc").add(Restrictions.ilike("name", name, MatchMode.ANYWHERE)); I will be grateful for help.

  • Customize Your WordPress Blog & Build an Audience

    - by Matthew Guay
    Want to quickly give your blog a fresh coat of paint and make it stand out from the pack?  Here’s how you can customize your WordPress blog and make it uniquely yours. WordPress offers many features that help you make your blog the best it can be.  Although it doesn’t offer as many customization features as full WordPress running on your own server, it still makes it easy to make your free blog as professional or cute as you like.  Here we’ll look at how you can customize features in your blog and build an audience. Personalize Your Blog WordPress make it easy to personalize your blog.  Most of the personalization options are available under the Appearance menu on the left.  Here we’ll look at how you can use most of these. Add New Theme WordPress is popular for the wide range of themes available for it.  While you cannot upload your own theme to your blog, you can choose from over 90 free themes currently available with more added all the time.  To change your theme, select the Themes page under Appearance. The Themes page will show random themes, but you can choose to view them in alphabetical order, by popularity, or how recently they were added.  Or, you can search for a theme by name or features. One neat way to find a theme that suites your needs is the Feature Filter.  Click the link on the right of the search button, and then select the options you want to make sure your theme has.  Click Apply Filters and WordPress will streamline your choices to themes that contain these features. Once you find a theme you like, click Preview under its name to see how your blog will look. This will open a popup that shows your blog with the new theme.  Click the Activate link in the top right corner of the popup if you want to keep this theme; otherwise, click the x in the top left corner to close the preview and continue your search for one you want.   Edit Current Theme Many of the themes on WordPress have customization options so you can make your blog stand out from others using the same theme.  The default theme Twenty Ten lets you customize both the header and background image, and many themes have similar options. To choose a new header image, select the Header page under Appearance.  Select one of the pre-installed images and click Save Changes, or upload your own image. If you upload an image larger than the size for the header, WordPress will let you crop it directly in the web interface.  Click Crop Header when you’ve selected the portion you want for the header of your blog. You can also customize your blog’s background from the Background page under Appearance.  You can upload an image for the background, or can enter a hex value of a color for a solid background.  If you’d rather visually choose a color, click Select a Color to open a color wheel that makes it easy to choose a nice color.  Click Save Changes when you’re done. Note: that all themes may not contain these customization options, but many are flexible.  You cannot edit the actual CSS of your theme on free WordPress blogs, but you you can purchase the Custom CSS Upgrade for $14.97/year to add this ability. Add Widgets With Extra Content Widgets are small addons for your blog, similar to Desktop Gadgets in Windows 7 or Dashboard widgets in Mac OS X.  You can add widgets to your blog to show recent Tweets, favorite Flickr pictures, popular articles, and more.  To add widgets to your blog, open the Widgets page under Appearance. You’ll see a variety of widgets available in the main white box.  Select one you want to add, and drag it to the widget area of your choice.  Different themes may offer different areas to place Widgets, such as the sidebar or footer. Most of the widgets offer configuration options.  Click the down arrow beside its name to edit it.  Set them up as you wish, and click Save on the bottom of the widget. Now we’ve got some nice dynamic content on our blog that’s automatically updated from the net. Choose Blog Extras By default, WordPress shows previews of websites when visitors hover over links on your blog, uses a special mobile theme when people visit from a mobile device, and shows related links to other blogs on the WordPress network at the end of your posts.  If you don’t like these features, you can disable them on the Extras page under Appearance. Build Your Audience Now that your blog is looking nice, we can make sure others will discover it.  WordPress makes it easy for you to make your site discoverable on search engines or social network, and even gives you the option to keep your site private if you’d prefer.  Open the Privacy page under Tools to change your site’s visibility.  By default, it will be indexed by search engines and be viewable to everyone.  You can also choose to leave your blog public but block search engines, or you can make it fully private. If you choose to make your blog private, you can enter up to 35 usernames of people you want to be able to see it.  Each private visitor must have a WordPress.com account so they can login.  If you need more than 35 private members, you can upgrade to allow unlimited private members for $29.97/year. Then, if you do want your site visible from search engines, one of the best ways to make sure your content is discovered by search engines is to register with their webmaster tools.  Once registered, you need to add your key to your site so the search engine will find and index it.  On the bottom of the Tools page, WordPress lets you enter your key from Google, Bing, and Yahoo! to make sure your site is discovered.  If you haven’t signed up with these tools yet, you can signup via the links on this page as well. Post Blog Updates to Social Networks Many people discover the sites they visit from friends and others via social networks.  WordPress makes it easy to automatically share links to your content on popular social networks.  To activate this feature, open the My Blogs page under Dashboard. Now, select the services you want to activate under the Publicize section.  This will automatically update Yahoo!, Twitter, and/or Facebook every time you publish a new post. You’ll have to authorize your connection with the social network.  With Twitter and Yahoo!, you can authorize them with only two clicks, but integrating with Facebook will take several steps.   If you’d rather share links yourself on social networks, you can get shortened URLs to your posts.  When you write a new post or edit an existing one, click the Get Shortlink button located underneath the post’s title. This will give you a small URL, usually 20 characters or less, that you can use to post on social networks such as Twitter.   This should help build your traffic, and if you want to see how many people are checking out your site, check out the stats on your Dashboard.  This shows a graph of how many people are visiting, and popular posts.  Click View All if you’d like more detailed stats including search engine terms that lead people to your blog. Conclusion Whether you’re looking to make a private blog for your group or publish a blog that’s read by millions around the world, WordPress is a great way to do it for free.  And with all of the personalization options, you can make your it memorable and exciting for your visitors. • How to call a WCF service using soap2 on android?

    Hi all, Here is my code import org.ksoap2.; import org.ksoap2.serialization.; import org.ksoap2.transport.*; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.TextView; public class ksop2test extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ private static final String METHOD_NAME = "SayHello"; // private static final String METHOD_NAME = "HelloWorld"; private static final String NAMESPACE = "http://tempuri.org"; // private static final String NAMESPACE = "http://tempuri.org"; private static final String URL = "http://192.168.0.2:8080/HelloWCF/Service1.svc"; // private static final String URL = "http://192.168.0.2:8080/webservice1/Service1.asmx"; final String SOAP_ACTION = "http://tempuri.org/IService1/SayHello"; // final String SOAP_ACTION = "http://tempuri.org/HelloWorld"; TextView tv; StringBuilder sb; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); tv = new TextView(this); sb = new StringBuilder(); call(); tv.setText(sb.toString()); setContentView(tv); } public void call() { try { SoapObject request = new SoapObject(NAMESPACE, METHOD_NAME); request.addProperty("name", "Qing"); SoapSerializationEnvelope envelope = new SoapSerializationEnvelope( SoapEnvelope.VER11); envelope.dotNet = true; envelope.setOutputSoapObject(request); HttpTransportSE androidHttpTransport = new HttpTransportSE(URL); androidHttpTransport.call(SOAP_ACTION, envelope); sb.append(envelope.toString() + "\n");//cannot get the xml request send SoapPrimitive result = (SoapPrimitive)envelope.getResponse(); //to get the data String resultData = result.toString(); // 0 is the first object of data sb.append(resultData + "\n"); } catch (Exception e) { sb.append("Error:\n" + e.getMessage() + "\n"); } } } I can successfully access .asmx service, but when I try to call a wcf service the virtual machine said : Error: expected:END_TAG{http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Body(position:END_TAG@1:712 in java.io.InputStreamReader@43ba6798 How to print what the request send? • how to organise my abstraction?

    - by DaveM
    I have a problem that I can't decide how to best handle, so I'm asking for advice. Please bear with me if my question isn't clear, it is possiblybecause I'm not sure exacly how to solve! I have a set of function that I have in a class. These function are a set of lowest commonality. To be able to run this I need to generate certain info. But this info can arrive with my class from one of 2 routes. I'll try to summarise my situation.... Lets say that I have a class as follows. public class onHoliday(){ private Object modeOfTravel; private Object location; public onHoliday(Object vehicle, Location GPScoords) { private boolean haveFun(){//function to have fun, needs 4 people }//end haveFun() } } Lets imagine I can get to my holiday either by car or by bike. my haveFun() function is dependant my type of vehicle. But only loosely. I have another function that determines my vehicle type, and extracts the required values. for example if I send a car I may get 4 people in one go, but if I send I bike I need at least 2 to get the required 4 I have currently 2 options: Overload my constructor, so as I can send either 2 bikes or a single car into it, then I can call one of 2 intermediate functions (to get the names of my 4 people for instance) before I haveFun() - this is what I am currently doing. split the 2 constructors into 2 separate classes, and repeat my haveFun() in a third class, that becomes an object of my 2 other classes. my problem with this is that my intermediate functions are all but a few lines of code, and I don't want to have them in a separate file! (I allways put classes in separate files!) Please note, my haveFun() isn't something that I'm going to need outside of these 2 classes, or even being onHoliday (ie. there is no chance of me doing some haveFun() over a weekend or of an evening!). I have though about putting haveFun() into an interface, but it seems a bit worthless having an interface with only a single method! Even then I would have to have the method in both of the classes -one for bike and another for car! I have thought about having my onHoliday class accepting any object type, but then I don't want someone accidentally sending in a boat to my onHoliday class (imagine I can't swim, so its not about to happen). It may be important to note that my onHoliday class is package private, and final. It in fact is only accessed via other 'private methods' in other classes, and has only private methods itself. Thanks in advance. David

  • Feedback on TOC Generation Code

    - by vikramjb
    Hi All I wrote a small code to generate ToC or Hierachical Bullets like one sees in a word document. Like the following set 1. 2 3 3.1 3.1.1 4 5 and so on so forth, the code is working but I am not happy with the code I have written, I would appreciate if you guys could shed some light on how I can improve my C# code. You can download the project from Rapidshare Please do let me know if you need more info. I am making this a community wiki. private void frmMain_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.EnableSubTaskButton(); } private void btnNewTask_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.AddNodes(true); } private void AddNodes(bool IsParent) { TreeNode parentNode = tvToC.SelectedNode; string curNumber = "0"; if (parentNode != null) { curNumber = parentNode.Text.ToString(); } curNumber = this.getTOCReference(curNumber, IsParent); TreeNode childNode = new TreeNode(); childNode.Text = curNumber; this.tvToC.ExpandAll(); this.EnableSubTaskButton(); this.tvToC.SelectedNode = childNode; if (IsParent) { if (parentNode == null) { tvToC.Nodes.Add(childNode); } else { if (parentNode.Parent != null) { parentNode.Parent.Nodes.Add(childNode); } else { tvToC.Nodes.Add(childNode); } } } else { parentNode.Nodes.Add(childNode); } } private string getTOCReference(string curNumber, bool IsParent) { int lastnum = 0; int startnum = 0; string firsthalf = null; int dotpos = curNumber.IndexOf('.'); if (dotpos > 0) { if (IsParent) { lastnum = Convert.ToInt32(curNumber.Substring(curNumber.LastIndexOf('.') + 1)); lastnum++; firsthalf = curNumber.Substring(0, curNumber.LastIndexOf('.')); curNumber = firsthalf + "." + Convert.ToInt32(lastnum.ToString()); } else { lastnum++; curNumber = curNumber + "." + Convert.ToInt32(lastnum.ToString()); } } else { if (IsParent) { startnum = Convert.ToInt32(curNumber); startnum++; curNumber = Convert.ToString(startnum); } else { curNumber = curNumber + ".1"; } } return curNumber; } private void btnSubTask_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.AddNodes(false); } private void EnableSubTaskButton() { if (tvToC.Nodes.Count == 0) { btnSubTask.Enabled = false; } else { btnSubTask.Enabled = true; } } private void btnTest1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++) { this.AddNodes(true); } for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) { this.AddNodes(false); } for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) { this.AddNodes(true); } }

  • java.lang.IllegalStateException: missing behavior definition for the preceding method call getMessag

    - by user362199
    Hi All, I'm using EasyMock(version 2.4) and TestNG for writing UnitTest. I have a following scenario and I cannot change the way class hierarchy is defined. I'm testing ClassB which is extending ClassA. ClassB look like this public class ClassB extends ClassA { public ClassB() { super("title"); } @Override public String getDisplayName() { return ClientMessages.getMessages("ClassB.title"); } } ClassA code public abstract class ClassA { private String title; public ClassA(String title) { this.title = ClientMessages.getMessages(title); } public String getDisplayName() { return this.title; } } ClientMessages class code public class ClientMessages { private static MessageResourse messageResourse; public ClientMessages(MessageResourse messageResourse) { this.messageResourse = messageResourse; } public static String getMessages(String code) { return messageResourse.getMessage(code); } } MessageResourse Class code public class MessageResourse { public String getMessage(String code) { return code; } } Testing ClassB import static org.easymock.classextension.EasyMock.createMock; import org.easymock.classextension.EasyMock; import org.testng.Assert; import org.testng.annotations.Test; public class ClassBTest { private MessageResourse mockMessageResourse = createMock(MessageResourse.class); private ClassB classToTest; private ClientMessages clientMessages; @Test public void testGetDisplayName() { EasyMock.expect(mockMessageResourse.getMessage("ClassB.title")).andReturn("someTitle"); clientMessages = new ClientMessages(mockMessageResourse); classToTest = new ClassB(); Assert.assertEquals("someTitle" , classToTest.getDisplayName()); EasyMock.replay(mockMessageResourse); } } When I'm running this this test I'm getting following exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: missing behavior definition for the preceding method call getMessage("title") While debugging what I found is, it's not considering the mock method call mockMessageResourse.getMessage("ClassB.title") as it has been called from the construtor (ClassB object creation). Can any one please help me how to test in this case. Thanks.

  • Setting Background of a Jbutton

    - by mithun1538
    Hello there, I have 5 JButtons: b1, b2, b3, b4, b5. By default, their color is gray. When I click on any button, the background of that button changes to white. When I click another button, I want that previous clicked button to change its background to gray, and this newly clicked button to change its background to white. Here is the code that I wrote: int liveButton = 0; //holds the value of the button that is last clicked. //0 indicates no button clicked (in the beginning) private void ChangeInUsersList(int clickedButton) { switch(liveButton) { case 1 : b1.setBackground(Color.GRAY); break; case 2 : b2.setBackground(Color.GRAY); break; case 3 : b3.setBackground(Color.GRAY); break; case 4 : b4.setBackground(Color.GRAY); break; case 5 : b5.setBackground(Color.GRAY); break; default: System.out.println("No button to change"); } liveButton = clickedButton;// store the clicked button to change its //background later } private void b1ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { ChangeInUsersList(1); b1.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(255,255,255)); } private void b2ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { ChangeInUsersList(2); b2.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(255,255,255)); } private void b3ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { ChangeInUsersList(3); b3.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(255,255,255)); } private void b4ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { ChangeInUsersList(4); b4.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(255,255,255)); } private void b5ButtonActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { ChangeInUsersList(5); b5.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(255,255,255)); } However, its not working as expected. When i click on a button, its background does change to white. However, if i click on some other button after that, the former button's background doesnt change to grey. I tried replacing Color.GREY with new java.awt.Color(236,233,216) - the rgb for grey but it still doesnt work.

  • Map enum in JPA with fixed values ?

    - by Kartoch
    I'm looking for the different ways to map an enum using JPA. I especially want to set the integer value of each enum entry and to save only the integer value. @Entity @Table(name = "AUTHORITY_") public class Authority implements Serializable { public enum Right { READ(100), WRITE(200), EDITOR (300); private int value; Right(int value) { this.value = value; } public int getValue() { return value; } }; @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) @Column(name = "AUTHORITY_ID") private Long id; // the enum to map : private Right right; } A simple solution is to use the Enumerated annotation with EnumType.ORDINAL: @Column(name = "RIGHT") @Enumerated(EnumType.ORDINAL) private Right right; But in this case JPA maps the enum index (0,1,2) and not the value I want (100,200,300). Th two solutions I found do not seem simple... First Solution A solution, proposed here, uses @PrePersist and @PostLoad to convert the enum to an other field and mark the enum field as transient: @Basic private int intValueForAnEnum; @PrePersist void populateDBFields() { intValueForAnEnum = right.getValue(); } @PostLoad void populateTransientFields() { right = Right.valueOf(intValueForAnEnum); } Second Solution The second solution proposed here proposed a generic conversion object, but still seems heavy and hibernate-oriented (@Type doesn't seem to exist in JEE): @Type( type = "org.appfuse.tutorial.commons.hibernate.GenericEnumUserType", parameters = { @Parameter( name = "enumClass", value = "Authority$Right"), @Parameter( name = "identifierMethod", value = "toInt"), @Parameter( name = "valueOfMethod", value = "fromInt") } ) Is there any other solutions ? I've several ideas in mind but I don't know if they exist in JPA: use the setter and getter methods of right member of Authority Class when loading and saving the Authority object an equivalent idea would be to tell JPA what are the methods of Right enum to convert enum to int and int to enum Because I'm using Spring, is there any way to tell JPA to use a specific converter (RightEditor) ?

  • IHttpAsyncHandler and IObservable web requests
