  • Question about Content Delivery Networks CDN

    I've built a javascript code that my clients will be installing on their website and they will be calling a file from my server. I'm wondering if it would be better to host the javascript file on a CDN, instead of on my server? The benefits would be better response time and a much higher chance that it will always be available. However, In the future, if the CDN was acquired or went out of business I would have a number of clients linking to a file that doesn't exist. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

    So I have 3 classes. Abstract class A Class B extends class A independent Class C In class D that contains the main method, I create a list of instances of class B List<B> b = methodCall(); // the method returns a list of instances of class B Now in class C I have one method that is common to both A and B, and hence I don't want to duplicate it. I want to have one method that takes as input an instance of class A, as follows: public void someMethod(List<A> a) However, when I do: C c = new C(); c.someMethod(b); I get an error that some-method is not applicable for the argument List<B>, instead it's expecting to get List<A>. Is there a good way to fix this problem? Many thanks!

    I'm using a JQuery Tabbed Menu which holds different types of forms and when I select a different form located under a different tab and submit the form the tab will jump to the default tab instead of the current tab the form is located in. I was wondering how would I go about fixing this so that when the form is submitted the current tab is still selected, is it the JQuery or PHP problem?     URL: Link (1) According to this wesbite .. you cannot implement Abstract classes but derive from them. This makes sense and I have read this many times. Like an interface, you cannot implement an instance of an abstract class, however you can implement methods, fields, and properties in the abstract class that can be used by the child class. But on MSDN URL: TextWriter CLass on MSDN TextWriter is an abstract class but it has two constructors defined ... and according to the MS 70-536 book, the following statement is valid: TextWriter tw = new File.CreateText("myFile.Txt") The static file class and it's CreateText method is fine by me as I have studied it on MSDN but can somebody explain this little contradiction I have found? Surely I am not the first? Why is instantaion of base abstract classes possible????

    Hello, I have a form that contains 3 blocks (block a, b, c). There is a master-detail relationship between b (detail) and c (master). Data-flow: you enter an ID in block a, which in turn populates block c and corresponding details in block b. Control goes immediately to block c. Objective: I need to be able to update details of block b. Issue: I cannot navigate to block b. Keep in Mind: --In the Property Palette Keyboard Navigable is set to "Yes" --Insert Allowed and Update Allowed are set to "Yes." If someone could respond ASAP I would really appreciate it.     Dear Guys, I have used the following statement to get the GNUPlot plot a grah for me: plot "force.dat" using 1:2 title "Detroit" with lines, \ "force.dat" u 1:3 t "US Avergae" w linepoints and the "force.dat" looks like 2005 0 0 2006 104 51 2007 202 101 It draws nice graph for me.However,I don't like the X-axis,because it is labelled as 2005,2005.5,2006,2006.5,2007..etc. However,those are year identifiers,I only want the 2005,2006,2007 etc,how could I get rid of the 2005.5,2006.5 etc labels in my GNUPlot graph? Thank you very much for your ideas.

    hi all, I am encountering the following bug. I have a class Foo . Instances of this class are stored in a std::vector vec of class B. in class Foo, I am creating an instance of class A by allocating memory using new and deleting that object in ~Foo(). the code compiles, but I get a crash at the runtime. If I disable delete my_a from desstructor of class Foo. The code runs fine (but there is going to be a memory leak).     I've been getting into some assembly lately and its fun as it challenges everything i have learned. I was wondering if i could ask a few questions When running an executable, does the entire executable get loaded into memory? From a bit of fiddling i've found that constants aren't really constants? Is it just a compiler thing? const int i = 5; _asm { mov i, 0 } // i is now 0 and compiles fine So are all variables assigned with a constant value embedded into the file as well? Meaning: int a = 1; const int b = 2; void something() { const int c = 3; int d = 4; } Will i find all of these variables embedded in the file (in a hex editor or something)? If the executable is loaded into memory then "constants" are technically using memory? I've read around on the net people saying that constants don't use memory, is this true?

    I am creating a game where where you complete shapes and the area gets filled in. However, if there is an enemy bird within your shape, it will not fill in. I want to make it so that if you do trap a bird within your shape, you will lose a life. How can I write an if statement that pretty much says if the below code doesn't take place, then you lose a life.
