  • OpenSSL "Seal" in C (or via shell)

    - by chpwn
I'm working on porting some PHP code to C, that contacts a web API. The issue I've come across is that the PHP code uses the function openssl_seal(), but I can't seem to find any way to do the same thing in C or even via openssl in a call to system(). From the PHP manual on openssl_seal(): int openssl_seal ( string $data , string &$sealed_data , array &$env_keys , array $pub_key_ids ) openssl_seal() seals (encrypts) data by using RC4 with a randomly generated secret key. The key is encrypted with each of the public keys associated with the identifiers in pub_key_ids and each encrypted key is returned in env_keys . This means that one can send sealed data to multiple recipients (provided one has obtained their public keys). Each recipient must receive both the sealed data and the envelope key that was encrypted with the recipient's public key. What would be the best way to implement this? I'd really prefer not to call out to a PHP script every time, for obvious reasons.

  • ATL OR C# for windows shell/namespace extenssion?

    - by _Avishay_
Hi, i have a question, after allot of hours in googling and reading articles, i understood that namespace extenssion in windows is quite tricky (In C++ at least), now i've also seen its possible to do so in C# , but microsft does'nt officaly confirms using .net for namespace extensions... though i have seen very nice commercial Namespace Extenssion framework , but none is free.... so to my question :) , i want to develop my own Namespace Extenssion ,i have C++/C# knwoledge and basic COM/ATL , but if it can be done i prefer c#, so does c# inteop can fully do the work without too many tricks ? or one shall go diving in the ATL to create the neccessary COM objects... and another question , can i program to Windows O/S with C# anything that can be done in C++/ATL/MFC ? thanks!

  • Only some windows shell commands work via ruby?

    - by Sanarothe
Hi. I'm trying to use a script to control my power options since XP doesn't give you an intuitive way to change CPU Frequency options. Here's my script so far: meh = `cmd.exe /C POWERCFG.EXE /QUERY Portable/Laptop` puts "" puts meh case input when 1 then system('cmd.exe /C POWERCFG.EXE /CHANGE Portable/Laptop /processor-throttle-ac NONE') when 2 then system('cmd.exe /C POWERCFG.EXE /CHANGE Portable/Laptop /processor-throttle-ac ADAPTIVE') when 3 then `cmd.exe /C POWERCFG.EXE /CHANGE Portable/Laptop /processor-throttle-ac CONSTANT` end The problem is that the changes simply don't take place. If I run the same commands directly into a cmd.exe prompt, they work. It's very strange, but nothing works after the initial powercfg query. I feel like I'm missing something incredibly obvious. How can I get the above script to run correctly?

  • Bash script "read" not pausing for user input when executed from SSH shell

    - by Aaron Hancock
I'm new to Bash scripting, so please be gentle. I'm connected to a Ubuntu server via SSH (PuTTY) and when I run this command, I expect the bash script that downloads and executes to allow user input and then echo that input. It seems to just write out the echo label for the input request and terminate. wget -O - https://raw.github.com/aaronhancock/pub/master/bash/readtest.sh | bash Any clue what I might be doing wrong? UPDATE: This bash command does exactly what I wanted bash <(wget -q -O - https://raw.github.com/aaronhancock/pub/master/bash/readtest.sh)

  • Invoking external shell application through RubyCocoa

    - by Shyam
Hi, How would I invoke an external application through the RubyCocoa bridge? I read something about NSTask, yet I have no idea how this should be translated in RubyCocoa. My goal is to have an IB_action to trigger a method which will run a terminal application with some parameters, i.e. ls -p $mydir, where mydir comes from an IB_outlet such as an Textfield. Any directions or help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Redirect PHP-Shell-Script output

    - by Corelgott
Hi Folks, i have got a php-script foo.php #!/usr/bin/php -c /etc/php5/cli/php.ini -q <?php echo 'hello'; // & do some stuff ?> I call this script not wrapped by a sh-script but using it directly in a cron job. To get rid of it's output i normally would just create a sh-file which calls /usr/bin/php -c /etc/php5/cli/php.ini -q foo.php > /dev/null 2 > /dev/null now i'd like to do this in the interpreter-declaration of the php file it self... so i am looking for the syntax for: #!/usr/bin/php -args [file's content] > /redirect 2 > /redirect i have kind of a hard time googleing for it... so if anybody could point me into the right direction i would really appreciate it! Thx in advance Corelgott

  • When does CSIDL_LOCAL_APPDATA path not exist?

    - by psychotik
On a few Windows Vista Home Premium systems, the following returns an empty string: wstring appData = GetSpecialFolderLocation(CSIDL_LOCAL_APPDATA); Any ideas what would make that happen? What's another equivalent path I can use for storing app data (currently user accessible only, not requiring elevation)?

  • Retrieve contents of a public Dropbox folder?

    - by Sam
Is there a way to retrieve a list of the contents of a public Dropbox folder (preferably in PHP)? This is what a URL to a public file in Dropbox looks like: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1234567/publikPholder/textytext.txt One would think that jumping up one level to the directory in the URL... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1234567/publikPholder/ ...would show all the public files. Nope. Nothing but a 404.

  • Popen is no able to process a command that runs in shell

    - by IceMan85
Hello everybody, I have already read the previous questions posted on the same argument but I really haven't figured it out yet. I am trying to run a command that works without issues from the command line : xyz@klm:~/python-remoteWorkspace/PyLogParser/src:18:43ush -o PPP -p PRD -n log 'pwd' 6:43PM PPP:prd:lgsprdppp:/ama/log/PRD/ppp but when I do the same in python I always get errors : stringa = Popen(["ush -o PPP -p PRD -n log 'pwd'"], stdout=PIPE, stdin=PIPE).communicate()[0] Here the error. Traceback (most recent call last): File "getStatData.py", line 134, in retrieveListOfFiles(infoToRetList) File "getStatData.py", line 120, in retrieveListOfFiles stringa = Popen(["ush -o PPP -p PRD -n log 'pwd'"], stdout=PIPE, stdin=PIPE).communicate()[0] File "/opt/python-2.6-64/lib/python2.6/subprocess.py", line 595, in init errread, errwrite) File "/opt/python-2.6-64/lib/python2.6/subprocess.py", line 1092, in _execute_child raise child_exception OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory I've tried also different solutions like stringa = Popen(["ush", "-o", "PPP", "-p" "PRD", "-n", "log", '"pwd"'], stdout=PIPE, stdin=PIPE).communicate()[0] but nothing seems to work. I have also tried to put the absolute path to ush but nothing... Can somebody please explain me what am I doing wrong ? Thanks in advance, AM.

  • Shell loops using non-integers?

    - by mary
I wrote a .sh file to compile and run a few programs for a homework assignment. I have a "for" loop in the script, but it won't work unless I use only integers: #!/bin/bash for (( i=10; i<=100000; i+=100)) do ./hw3_2_2 $i done The variable $i is an input for the program hw3_2_2, and I have non-integer values I'd like to use. How could I loop through running the code with a list of decimal numbers?

  • URL protocol handler shell execute problem

    - by Chuck
Hi, I'm working on a small hobby web site where I'm able to launch a local app with certain arguments based on links. Setting up a protocol wasn't difficult, as described in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa767914(VS.85).aspx, but I have one dilemma: Let's say the protocol is: foo:127.0.0.1:1111, so a link like href="foo:127.0.0.1:1111" would launch an app like: bar.exe "%1". Since I don't have any control over bar.exe (if I had, then it would be no problem to just parse it, obviously), I need some help parsing %1. bar.exe will launch correctly if it's run as bar.exe 127.0.0.1:1111, but not if it's run as bar.exe foo:127.0.0.1:1111. So I guess my question is... is there ANY way to tell the registry to pass on not %1, but a trimmed %1? (Thinking in terms of regexp where you have match[0] = all of the matched, match[1] = first capture in the matched text). I can solve it by having a .bat instead of .exe, but as I would like to make it as easy as possible for the user to use, I would LOVE it if I could handle it all stricly in registry. Any help is greatly appreciated! Chuck

  • Windows 7 Create Folder in "Program Files" failing in C# code even thought I have admin rights!

    - by Shiva
Hi, I am unable to create a file under "program files" folder on my Windows 7 64-bit machine in VS 2008 WPF C# code. The error I get on the following code myFile = File.Create(logFile); is the following. (this is the innerException stack trace). at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options) at System.IO.File.Create(String path) at MyFirm.MyPricingApp.UI.App.InitializeLogging() in C:\Projects\MyPricingApp\App.xaml.cs:line 150 at MyFirm.MyPricingApp.UI.App.Application_Startup(Object sender, StartupEventArgs e) in C:\Projects\MyPricingApp\App.xaml.cs:line 38 at System.Windows.Application.OnStartup(StartupEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Application.<.ctor>b__0(Object unused) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.InternalRealCall(Delegate callback, Object args, Boolean isSingleParameter) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.TryCatchWhen(Object source, Delegate callback, Object args, Boolean isSingleParameter, Delegate catchHandler) this seems like it has something to do with UAC in Windows 7, because why else would I get this since my user is already Admin on the machine ?! Also since the WinIOError has SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES, I am thinking this has something to do with a "new way" security is handled in Windows 7. I tried to browse to the "Program Files" folder, under which the log folder and file were to be created. I can create the folder by hand, but when i try to create the file, I get the similar "Access Denied" exception.

  • PHP: Mapped Network Drives

    - by Abs
Hello all, I have mapped a network drive to a computer in my home network. Now I am trying to access it via PHP - I did this quick test: echo opendir('Z:\\'); This gives me: Warning: opendir(Z:\) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No error in C:\wamp\www\webs\tester-function.php on line 3 What have I done wrong here? I don't want my users typing in the UNC path so is there a way to get the UNC path for them and maybe that will work when I try to access it? This is possible in Microsoft languages but I am not sure how to get PHP to do this - maybe using a cmd.exe command? Please note, the mapped drive does exist as I can see it and I can access it. It also does not appear to be a permissions problem as I am assuming it would of complained about this IF it could access that drive...right? Thanks all for any help

  • How do I get the Virtual Machines folder on Win7?

    - by xpmore
I'm writing a tool called XP-More, which should help manage Windows 7 Virtual Machines. The first thing the tool has to do when launched is find the VM folder. However, turns out that folder is not listed as a Windows Special Folder. I use a workaround, but it's unreliable. Ideally, Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.VMFolder) or so would have done the job, but VMFolder is a fiction of my imagination. Is there any real way to get that folder?

  • Fork to shell script and terminate original process with Haskell

    - by Neth
I am currently writing a Haskell program that does some initialization work and then calls ncmpcpp. What I am trying to do is start ncmpcpp and terminate the Haskell program, so that only ncmpcpp is left (optionally, the program can keep running in the background, as long as it's unintrusive) However, even though I am able to start ncmpcpp, I cannot interact with it. I see its output, but input appears to be impossible. What I am currently doing is: import System.Process (createProcess, proc) ... spawnCurses :: [String] -> IO () spawnCurses params = do _ <- createProcess (proc "ncmpcpp" params) return () What am I doing wrong/What should I do differently?
