• replacing div content with a click using jquery

  I see this question asked a lot in the related questions, but my need seems very simple compared to those examples, and sadly I'm just still too new at js to know what to remove...so at the risk of being THAT GUY, I'm going to ask my question... I'm trying to switch out the div contents in a box depending on the button pushed. Right now I have it working using the animatedcollapse.toggle function, but it doesn't look very good. I want to replace it with a basic fade in on click and fade in new content on next button. • Scrolling RelativeLayout- white border over part of the content

  I have a fairly simply Fragment that adds a handful of colored ImageViews to a RelativeLayout. There are more images than can fit on screen, so I implemented some custom scrolling. However, When I scroll around, I see that there is an approximately 90dp white border overlapping part of the content right where the edges of the screen are before I scroll. It is obvious that the ImageViews are still being created and drawn properly, but they are being covered up. How do I get rid of this? I have tried: Changing both the RelativeLayout and FrameLayout to WRAP_CONTENT, FILL_PARENT, MATCH_PARENT, and a few combinations of those. Setting the padding and margins of both layouts to 0dp.   I have a Flash object that loads fine in a static sample HTML but doesnt inside the application. I saw something interesting in firebug. When the page loads the object is loaded two times. In the first one I get a Partial Response status but the content-type of the package is right. In the second time the whole package is transfered but the content-type is wrong! I am using apache 2.2.14.

• Need Google Map InfoWindow Hyperlink to Open Content in Overlay (Fusion Table Usage)

When the map is clicked, the info window pops up with a bunch of content including a hyperlink to open up a website with a form in it. I would like to utilize a function like fancybox to open up this link "form" in an overlay. I have read that fancybox doesn't support calling the function from within an iframe, and was wondering if there was a way to pass the link data to the DOM and trigger the fancybox (or another overlay option) in another way? • Div not expanding even with content inside

  I have a stack of divs inside of each other, all of which have an ID which specifies CSS only. But for some reason the surrounding DIV tag only expands to it's anointed height value, and not it's default auto, meaning that although the content is inside, the backing DIV is only a specific height. I need it to adjust the heigh to the size of whatever is inside of it (As there will be user submitted data being echoed out possibly in paragraphs with 500+ words.)   In responsive design, elements are hidden in the page with @media queries and display: none in CSS. Ok. In my design however browsers that have less than 800px in width should avoid loading some content at all. When accessed with on a device with more than 800px of screen, the page loads fully. In mobile devices or even on desktop with less than 800px of width some content is hidden. I want to make the page load faster for low-resolution devices and avoid loading chunks of content that the user will never see. How can I go about this?

• How can I exclude content in my notifications bar from being indexed?

  Of course I want my content to be indexed pretty fast by search engines, however not my notifications bar. My notifications bar contains the last 30 changes to content on the site, and I don't want this to show in my SEO meta. As all the notifications are generic, it often doesn't provide any relevant information. As I said the notifications are generic. If an article named "123" was created, it would create a notification that says "Article "123" was created by xxx at 12:00AM". I'm now wondering if this is a content design problem. As only 1/3 of this information is actually relevant to users (the title, what happened). By SEO meta, and irrelevant notification data being shown, I mean this - Basically what I was wondering, is how I could optimise this, so search engines wouldn't show this generic nonsense.

I've been searching the web but could not find a comprehensive explanation regarding what the difference between both is. The "text/html" intuitively sounds more straightforward to me. Should I change my tag to that, or might the "application/xhtml+xml" be an equivalent solution ? Alternatively, can anyone point me to a resource where the different values for these tags are listed and explained in a clear manner? Thanks in advance

  I just got an email, from a former user on my website He was complaining that Google still shows the contact page he created on my site, even though he deleted it a month ago This is the first time in many years anyone requests this I told him, that it's almost entirely up to Google what content it wants to keep/show and for how long. If it's deleted on the site, I can't do much, other than request a re-visit from the googlebot The user-page already now says something like "Not found. The user has removed the content" TL;DR: But the question is: Should I generally add a 404 header (or other) for dynamic user content that has been removed from the site? Or could this hurt the site (SEO)?

I've been searching the web but could not find a comprehensive explanation regarding what the difference between both is. The "text/html" intuitively sounds more straightforward to me. Should I change my tag to that, or might the "application/xhtml+xml" be an equivalent solution ? Alternatively, can anyone point me to a resource where the different values for these tags are listed and explained in a clear manner? Thanks in advance

• Should I include everything in the sitemap or only new content?

  For a website with dynamic content (new content is constantly being added), should I only include the newest content in the sitemap or should I include everything (with a sitemap index)? What are the best practices for sitemaps esp. for large sites? Also, is there anyway to make google (and other search engines) only crawl the pages in the sitemap? Thanks Update: Also, any idea how stackoverflow handle this? I'd like to know but unfortunately (also understandingly) they have blocked access to their sitemap.

I know what Wikipedia says is the definition of a content farm (low quality paid articles and spammy text across the page to catch search engines). That other site I use doesn't do those things, so there must be more to it than that. I want to make sure I don't do anything that causes Google to think my Q&A site is a content farm. • Is it possible to view the contents of an underlying NFS mount without unmounting the NFS content?

  I have a shared directory on a server - let's call it /home/shared - which is mounted with content from another server via nfs. When it is unmounted /home/shared is supposed to be empty - however, running du -x on the directory indicates that it is not empty. I cannot unmount the NFS content to inspect the mount point, since it is in use by others. Is there any way that I can view/edit the contents of the actual mount point (not the NFS content) while leaving the NFS content mounted for others to use?

• Hard crash when drawing content for CALayer using quartz

  I am trying to figure out why iOS crash my application in the harsh way (no crash logs, immediate shudown with black screen of death with spinner shown for a while).
