  • RNDC fails: permission denied

    - by pawz
    Named works great. It creates a pid in /var/run/named/named.pid as expected. It is listening on port 953 as shown by the log: Apr 20 14:42:38 guchuko named[9115]: command channel listening on 127.0.0.1#953 But whenever I try to run "rndc reload" I get: rndc: 'reload' failed: permission denied What file is it being denied permission to ? It doesn't log anything so I don't know why it's not working. I've compiled bind 9.4-ESV-R1 from source and I've patched it with the mysql mod. my named.conf: options { directory "/var/bind"; forwarders { 203.82.213.101; 203.188.144.1; }; listen-on-v6 { none; }; listen-on { 127.0.0.1; 192.168.0.6; }; pid-file "/var/run/named/named.pid"; }; logging { channel simple_log { file "/var/log/named.log" versions 3 size 5m; severity debug 5; print-time yes; print-severity yes; print-category yes; }; category default { simple_log; }; }; zone "." IN { type hint; file "named.ca"; }; zone "localhost" IN { type master; file "pri/localhost.zone"; allow-update { none; }; notify no; }; include "/etc/rndc.key" my rndc.conf options { default-server 127.0.0.1; default-key "rndc-key"; }; server 127.0.0.1 { key "rndc-key"; }; include "/etc/rndc.key"; my rndc.key: key "rndc-key" { algorithm hmac-md5; secret "XFc8C+yCLK0mIheTSBj41g=="; };

  • Range of inputs on Blackberry's accelerometer

    - by AD
I am looking at using the accelerometer as an input channel for controlling a game on the Blackberry. However, I only want to respond to it when the user makes a violent motion to the left or the right. So my question is: what is the range of input to expect from a user holding the device in their hands and what threshold should I set to be sure I don't respond to normal movement during play?

  • Java NIO Servlet to File

    - by Gandalf
Is there a way (without buffering the whole Inputstream) to take the HttpServletRequest from a Java Servlet and write it out to a file using all NIO? Is it even worth trying? Will it be any faster reading from a normal java.io stream and writing to a java.nio Channel or do they both really need to be pure NIO to see a benefit? Thanks.

  • Java NIO (Netty): Exceptionhandling in Downstream Hanlders/Chain

    - by Tom
Hello Experts, could someone please explain to me, how in netty "Downstream Exceptions" are handeled? According to the javadoc there are no Downstream exceptions: http://docs.jboss.org/netty/3.1/api/org/jboss/netty/channel/ExceptionEvent.html Given the case that in one of my downstream handlers an exception occures OR in the I/0 Thread itself, where can these errors be catched and handeled? thank you very much tom

  • Cant get description rss tag data with javascript

    - by AdamB
I'm currently making a widget to take and display items from a feed. I have this working for the most part, but for some reason the data within the tag within the item comes back as empty, but I get the data in the and tags no problem. feed is and xmlhttp.responseXML object. var items = feed.getElementsByTagName("item"); for (var i=0; i<10; i++){ container = document.getElementById('list'); new_element = document.createElement('li'); title = items[i].getElementsByTagName("title")[0].firstChild.nodeValue; link = items[i].getElementsByTagName("link")[0].firstChild.nodeValue; alert(items[i].getElementsByTagName("description")[0].firstChild.nodeValue); new_element.innerHTML = "<a href=\""+link+"\">"+title+"</a> "; container.insertBefore(new_element, container.firstChild); } I have no idea why it wouldn't be working for the tag and would be for the other tags. Here is an example of the rss feed its trying to parse: <rss version="2.0" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"> <channel> <title>A title</title> <link>http://linksomehwere</link> <description>The title of the feed</description> <language>en-us</language> <item> <pubDate>Fri, 10 Jul 2009 11:34:49 -0500</pubDate> <title>Awesome Title</title> <link>http://link/to/thing</link> <guid>http://link/to/thing</guid> <description> <![CDATA[ <p>some html crap</p> blah blah balh ]]> </description> </item> </channel> </rss>

  • Mcafee PCI Compliance failing on Session ID cookie?

    - by frio80
Hello there. I am attempting to obtain PCI compliance for my site but the Mcafee security scan has thrown a: Potential Sensitive Persistent Cookie Sent Over a Non-Encrypted (SSL) Channel Drupal (default behavior) sets a session cookie when you simply arrive at the site. This is causing the problem. Clearly, the entire site shouldn't be under SSL; plenty of other sites set session cookies like this. What gives?

  • Change texture opacity in OpenGL

    - by zoul
Hello! This is hopefully a simple question: I have an OpenGL texture and would like to be able to change its opacity, how do I do that? The texture already has an alpha channel and blending works fine, but I want to be able to decrease the opacity of the whole texture, to fade it into the background. I have fiddled with glBlendFunc, but with no luck – it seems that I would need something like GL_SRC_ALPHA_MINUS_CONSTANT, which is not available. I am working on iPhone, with OpenGL ES.

  • Sending username and password to web service

    - by Jim
I am developing a web service and I need to send a username and password to the service in a GET method. Is it OK to send this information in the uri as long as it's going over a secure channel like ssl? In other words, can I have a uri that looks like /users/{username}/{cleartext_password}?

  • Robust Large File Transfer with WCF

    - by Sharov
I want to transfer big files (1GB) over unreliable transport channels. When connection is interrupted, I don't want start file transfering from the begining. I can partially store it in a temp table and store last readed position, so when connection is reestablished I can request continue uploading of file from this position. Is there any best-practice for such kind of things. I'm currently use chunking channel.

  • Monitoring UDP socket in glib(mm) eats up CPU time

    - by Gyorgy Szekely
Hi, I have a GTKmm Windows application (built with MinGW) that receives UDP packets (no sending). The socket is native winsock and I use glibmm IOChannel to connect it to the application main loop. The socket is read with recvfrom. My problem is: this setup eats 25% percent CPU time on a 3GHz workstation. Can somebody tell me why? The application is idle in this case, and if I remove the UDP code, CPU usage drops down to almost zero. As the application has to perform some CPU intensive tasks, I could image better ways to spend that 25% Here are some code excerpts: (sorry for the printf's ;) ) /* bind */ void UDPInterface::bindToPort(unsigned short port) { struct sockaddr_in target; WSADATA wsaData; target.sin_family = AF_INET; target.sin_port = htons(port); target.sin_addr.s_addr = 0; if ( WSAStartup ( 0x0202, &wsaData ) ) { printf("WSAStartup failed!\n"); exit(0); // :) WSACleanup(); } sock = socket( AF_INET, SOCK_DGRAM, 0 ); if (sock == INVALID_SOCKET) { printf("invalid socket!\n"); exit(0); } if (bind(sock,(struct sockaddr*) &target, sizeof(struct sockaddr_in) ) == SOCKET_ERROR) { printf("failed to bind to port!\n"); exit(0); } printf("[UDPInterface::bindToPort] listening on port %i\n", port); } /* read */ bool UDPInterface::UDPEvent(Glib::IOCondition io_condition) { recvfrom(sock, (char*)buf, BUF_SIZE*4, 0, NULL, NULL); /* process packet... */ } /* glibmm connect */ Glib::RefPtr channel = Glib::IOChannel::create_from_win32_socket(udp.sock); Glib::signal_io().connect( sigc::mem_fun(udp, &UDPInterface::UDPEvent), channel, Glib::IO_IN ); I've read here in some other question, and also in glib docs (g_io_channel_win32_new_socket()) that the socket is put into nonblocking mode, and it's "a side-effect of the implementation and unavoidable". Does this explain the CPU effect, it's not clear to me? Whether or not I use glib to access the socket or call recvfrom() directly doesn't seem to make much difference, since CPU is used up before any packet arrives and the read handler gets invoked. Also glibmm docs state that it's ok to call recvfrom() even if the socket is polled (Glib::IOChannel::create_from_win32_socket()) I've tried compiling the program with -pg and created a per function cpu usage report with gprof. This wasn't usefull because the time is not spent in my program, but in some external glib/glibmm dll.

  • What is a lightweight cross platform WAV playing library?

    - by Lokkju
I'm looking for a lightweight way to make my program (written in C) be able to play audio files on either windows or linux. I am currently using windows native calls, which is essentially just a single call that is passed a filename. I would like something similar that works on linux. The audio files are Microsoft PCM, Single channel, 22Khz Any Suggestions?

  • What is a good way of Enhancing contrast of color images?

    - by erjik
I split color image for 3 channels and made a contrast enhancement of each channel. Then merged them together, I like the image at the result, but it has different colors. Black objects became yellow and so on... EDIT: The algorithm I used is to calculate the 5th percentile and the 95th percentile as min and max values, and then expand the values of image so that it will have min and max values as 0 and 255. If there is a better approach please tell me.

What I'm looking for is for other providers of this hosted multi channel ticketing systems. I'm not sure if this belongs in SO but hey...

  • Call a Firebug command from client code.

    - by ProfK
I would like to apply some sort of IoC, with debugee code, i.e. the current HTML document, and the debugger, Firebug. It would be great to have some sort of document that asks Firebug to open a push channel from the document, versus the more common scenario of the debugger pulling information from the debugee document. Is this possible and or feasible?
