• ASP.NET MVC + MySql Membership Provider, user cannot login

  Hello, I've been playing around with using MySql as the membership provider for asp.net mvc forms authentication. I've got things configured correctly as far as i can tell, and i can create users via both the register action and asp.net web config site. however, when i try to login with one of the users, it does not work. it returns an error as if i had entered a wrong password, or if the account doesn't exist. i have verified in the database that the account does exist. UPDATE So after debugging the login process in the code of the membership provider itself, i discovered that there is a bug in the provider. There is a discrepancy between the password hash that is stored in the database, and the has that is generated based on the inputted password. As a workaround for my issue, i changed the password format to 'encrpyted' and added a machine key to my web.config. I am still interested in figuring out the issue with the hashed format in the provider, and will spend some more time debugging it, and if i can figure out the problem, i will put together a patch and submit it.

• Haskell as REST server

  I would like to try Haskell on a smallish project which should be well suited to it. I would like to use it as a backend to a small ajax application. Haskell backend should be able to do authentication (basic, form, whatever, ...), keep track of user session (not much data there except for username) and to dispatch request to handlers based on uri and request type. It should also be able to serialize response to both xml and json format, depending on request parameter. I suppose the handlers are ideally suited for Haskell, since the service is basically stateless, but I don't know where to start for the rest of the story. Searching hackage didn't give me much hints.

  I'm trying to get an updated version for Windows vista. I previously got 21.4.22 but it's been a year since that release. The linux versions should be 22.x. I'm wondering if anyone else builds stable binaries for Windows ? 21.4.22 has several bugs and I cannot figure out how to fix them. I know Xemacs is not as active as GNU emacs but still aren't there any Xemacs users on windows who build their own copies even if the official site doesn't ? I would like to be able to compare buffers, files and directories apart from being able to edit any file : java, javascript, ruby, .bat, .sh, .xml, etc.

• How to stop .Net HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() raising an exception

  Surely, surely, surely there is a way to configure the .Net HttpWebRequest object so that it does not raise an exception when HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() is called and any 300 or 400 status codes are returned? Jon Skeet does not think so, so I almost dare not even ask, but I find it hard to believe there is no way around this. 300 and 400 response codes are valid responses in certain circumstances. Why would we be always forced to incur the overhead of an exception? Perhaps there is some obscure configuration setting that evaded Jon Skeet? Perhaps there is a completely different type of request object that can be used that does not have this behavior? (and yes, I know you can just catch the exception and get the response from that, but I would like to find a way not to have to). Thanks for any help

  Hi All, I've got a page in an ASP.Net app (its Mvc actually but not important) and I would like to only allow connections to this page from the local machine. I would love to do something like this in Web.config: <location path="resources"><system.web><authorization><allow ips="local"/></authorization></system.web></location> I know this is possible with a simple check in the page code behind (or controller) and its even possible just with IIS configuration but I would love a Web.config config as this would be the most elegant solution in my opinion.   hi all friends I meet a problem yestoday...maybe it's becoz it is april 1st... but it did exist. here i begin clarifying: i have 3 pcs in remote area..2 clients and 1 oracle server.. my app is running seperately in the two clients hourly connecting to the oracles,,my clients worked well be4 April 1th, but suddenly my app in the clients mechines went down...first i did not change any configurations.... i used libsqlora8 to connect the server...I went into a dead loop in the library...I tried sqlplus, but it dead there in my shell terminal, like it meets a infinite loop....no return until i pressed ctrl + c, the reason i guess is "infinite loop" somewhere..... btw, when i used my local pc to connect the server, it worked well...just from this phenomenon, wen can see the is problems lie in the client mechines..and i check the configuration file both in local mechine and client mechines..they are identical have you met a problem like this.... I dont hope it's frank of April 1st

  Hi Everybody, I'm trying to do the following request using TCL (OpenACS) http::register https 443 tls::socket set url "https://encrypted.google.com" set token [http::geturl $url -timeout 30000] set status [http::status $token] set answer [http::data $token] http::cleanup $token http::unregister https The problem is that when I read the $status variable I get "eof" and the $answer variable becomes empty. I tried enabling tls V.1 http::register https 443 [list tls::socket -tls1 1] and it works only for the site https://www.galileo.edu, but not for https://encrypted.google.com. The site what I'm trying to connect is https://graph.facebook.com/me/feed?access_token=... but it doesn't work. I used curl to retrieve the contents of the pages in HTTPS and it works, I have installed OpenSSL, so I can't see the problem, there is another way to do HTTPS connections with TCL?. I can't see if this is a problem of coding (maybe I'm registered wrong the https protocol) or maybe It is a bad configuration of my server. Hope somebody helps!! Thanks!

  Hello, Is there any other free alternatives to PHPliveDocx? I would like to create a Word document based on templates and user inputted data. The template will resides on the server and the client(online or c# windows application) will be used to collect user input. Once data has been collected, server-side script(PHP) will be used to generate a Word document. So far I have only found phplivedocx. However I'm not very comfortable at consuming web services from a server that I have no control over with (am I worrying too much?). I have also thought about using client to do the work (c# windows application, Open Office XML). But I'm not sure that's the right way of doing things. Any guidance/help will be really appreciated!   I have a small application built using Seam 2.2, Richfaces 3.3, JBoss 5.1. Most of the page navigation adds the request parameters to the target URL. I would like to hide parameters to be hidden to the customer who is using the application (e.g. I would expect the URL to be something like "http://localhost:8080/books/Book.seam". The parameters (userId, orderId and cmId) are currently mapped to the backend bean via Book.page.xml. How do I prevent the request parameters from showing up in the browser URL, as it also allows the customer to manipulate the URL. We did look at seam URL re-writing feature, it talked about manipulating say the primary key id in a REST format, not sure how to accomplish something more complex like the above use case in a elegant fashion.

But I keep getting the following error, which I just can't solve: Cannot create a connection to data source 'MYDATASOURCE'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection) --- Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportServerException: Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\IUSR'. I won't post any code, I'm simply calling the .Render() method through Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms. Could it be a configuration or some special permission I have to grant to my code? Any Help?

• skip-limit ignored for skippable exception thrown from writer

  i am working on a project with spring batch 2.0.2 and have skippable exception set up in the config. for exceptions thrown from the processor everything works fine. it skips and once the limit is execeed the job fails (or stops). for exceptions thrown from the writer (same chunk) it keeps skipping. the skip-limit doesnt seem to matter. maybe i missunderstood and skipping and writer don't go together or maybe i am missing a configuration. does anyone know how to skip issues - with a limit - within the writer properly?

  I am trying to load Linq on my .Net 3.5 enabled web server by adding the following to my .aspx page: <%@ Import Namespace="System.Query" %> However, this fails and tells me it cannot find the namespace. The type or namespace name 'Query' does not exist in the namespace 'System' I have also tried with no luck: System.Data.Linq System.Linq System.Xml.Linq I believe that .Net 3.5 is working because var hello = "Hello World" seems to work. • Ant ignores attempt to override the LANG environment variable

  We need to test a java build with the languages set to different values. I can manually (i.e. via export LANG=en_DK.UTF-8 and export LANG=en_DK) test that the unit tests run with the ant build script behaves differently, but I need to set the environment variable from ant. I have tried setting it using these methods (with the shell $LANG set to en_DK.UTF-8): using -D on the command line: ant -DLANG=en_DK using a build.properties file with the line LANG=en_DK in it using the following statements in the build.xml file (sorry for the formatting, I can't get SO to display it otherwise): : <property environment="ANTENV"/> <property name="ANTENV.LANG" value="en_DK"/> Using any of the three possibilities, and when run with -debug, ant reports that: Override ignored for property "LANG" What can I do to set the LANG environment variable from within ant?

  Hi, I would like to unit test a DEPENDENT service layer which allows me to perform CRUD operation without mocking using NUnit. I know this is probably bad practice but I want to give it a try anyway - even if the tests have to run over night. My data is persisted using NHibernate and I have implemented a little library that 'bootstraps' the database which I could use in a [Setup] method. I am just wondering if someone has done something similar and what the fastest method for bootstrapping the database is. I am using something like this: var cfg = new Configuration(); cfg.Configure(); cfg.AddAssembly("Bla"); new SchemaExport(cfg).Execute(false, true, false); to establish the db schema. • Communication between Page and User Controls

  I have a main page that has multiple user controls on it. All the user controls have static text and some data to be retrieved from the DB. The aysnchronous DB call is clubbed at the page level and one call is made to avoid multiple calls (in the different user controls) to get the same data. I want the page and user controls to load initially with the static text and later refresh the contents obtained from the server. To sum it all up, Page Loads = Asyn calls fired on page load = Data received back from the server (XML/text/whatever) = User controls to load with this data using AJAX. What methods do I have to let the user controls know that I have the data from the server and they need to update with this data?

  First off, I'm using Tomcat 5.5 and my .jsp's live in /webapps/foo/bar/*.jsp. I followed the directions here to set up a default 404 error page. However, attempting to access a non-existent page in a browser at url /missingpage.html yields a blankpage. Or any permutation of /missingDir/missingfile.html will also yield a blank page.
