• Adding Parameters to Zend_Navigation

  I have a problem with Zend_Navigation that I am hoping for a little guidance on. I'm in the process of adding a Zend_Navigation to a legacy app as described [here on SO].1 The thing that I am not sure of is how to add parameters to the navigation menu after the data is loaded from the xml file. What I want to do is get 2 identifying parameters from the url and add them to the Zend_Navigation so that they are included in things such as the breadcrumb bar, so that if a user selects the previous item in the breadcrumb they are returned with the correct params in the url. The parameters, I believe need to be set at the Action level rather than the controller. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

  I want to use the #! token to make my GWT application crawlable, as described here: http://code.google.com/web/ajaxcrawling/ There is a GWT sample app available online that uses this, for example: http://gwt.google.com/samples/Showcase/Showcase.html#!CwRadioButton Will serve the following static webpage to the googlebot: http://gwt.google.com/samples/Showcase/Showcase.html?_escaped_fragment_=CwRadioButton I want my GWT app to do something similar. In short, I'd like to serve a different flavor of the page whenever the _escaped_fragment_ parameter is found in the URL. What should I modify in order for the server to serve something else (a static page, or a page dynamically generated through a headless browser like HTML Unit)? I'm guessing it could be the web.xml file, but I'm not sure. (Note: I thought of checking the Showcase app provided with the GWT SDK, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to support serving static files on _escaped_fragment_ and it doesn't use the #! token..)

• Problem exporting RSA key -'key not valid for use in specified state'

  I'm encrypting the web.config in our web sites using aspnet_regiis. However, I want the ability to export the encryption key so if we need to move from Machine A to Machine B, asp.net will be able to decrypt it. When I run aspnetregiis -px "NetFrameworkConfigurationKey" c:\keys.xml -pri, I get the following : 'Key not valid for use in specified state'. I've seen all kinds of responses online but they don't seem to apply. It's not an invalid key because when I use aspnet_regiis to encrypt sections of the web.config, they encrypt fine. Ideas?

  I'm writing a Clone function for a non serializeable object.For most objects I don't care if they are shallow copied as I won't be making any changes to them. I start with a MemberwiseClone and this copies all the values and few objects like configuration dictionary over just fine but they are pointers. EAVEntity newClone = (EAVEntity) this.MemberwiseClone(); newClone.EntityStorageID = Guid.NewGuid(); newClone.Controls.Clear(); So how do I reset a pointer so I can make them not point at the same location?

• MS Environment: How to force link a static library to another using .vsprops, if possible?

  Environment: VS 2008 in Windows. Problem: A static library, say first.lib is not linked to, say second.lib, if first.lib is specified in .vsprops file and none of its functions is referenced in the second.lib. If, however, first.lib is removed from the .vsprops file and placed instead in the appropriate project options dialog(1), it is linked, even if its functions remain unreferenced. (1) Project - Properties - Configuration Properties - Linker - Input. Our solution uses .vsprops exclusively and to somehow be able to specify first.lib in such a file with additional tweaking of some settings would be considered a more elegant solution. Using a dummy function to pull in unused functions of first.lib is not an option. Thanks in advance.

• Django file uploads - Just can't work it out

  OK I give up - after 5 solid hours trying to get a django form to upload a file, I've checked out all the links in stackoverflow and googled and googled. Why is it so hard, I just want it to work like the admin file upload? So I get that I need code like: if submitForm.is_valid(): handle_uploaded_file(request.FILES['attachment']) obj = submitForm.save() and I can see my file in request.FILES['attachment'] (yes I have enctype set) but what am I supposed to do in handle_uploaded_file? The examples all have a fixed file name but obviously I want to upload the file to the directory I defined in the model, but I can't see where I can find that. def handle_uploaded_file(f): destination = open('fyi.xml', 'wb+') for chunk in f.chunks(): destination.write(chunk) destination.close() Bet I'm going to feel really stupid when someone points out the obvious!

  Actually my issue is , our application is deployed on jboos As 4.0x, we face some issues in jboss logging.. whenever the server is restarted, jboss stops logging , and there is no update in server.log. After that it is not updating the log file. then we do touch cmd on log4j.xml, so that it creates the log files again. Please help me in fixing the issue we cant do touch everytine. we face this issue in both the nodes. I could not figure where the problem is? If any other issues, we can check the log files. If log itself is not getting updated/logged, how can we move further in analysing the issues without the recent/updated logs.. please help me..

In normal Java this results in tedious for loops, if statements etc... Are there alternative ways to achieve tree navigation, similar to XPath for XML? I know there is JXPath and OGNL, but do you know any other libraries for such purpose?   Hello, I work on an legacy application, where Spring AOP (namely ProxyFactoryBean) is used. I need to add an aspect around a method of a certain class. This class is not a bean however. The AspecjJ pointcut expression would be like this: execution(* xyz.package.Class.method()) I created a MethodInterceptor and AspectJExpressionPointcut, but I don't know how make those two work together. EDIT: I do not have source code for this class, it is a 3rd party library. The instances of this class are not created by me, neither in source code, nor in spring configuration as beans. It is used internally by the library. Any help appreciated.

• Castle Windsor config pointing to connectionStrings section in web.config

  I want to inject a connection string into my repository but ideally, I want this connection string to be in my web.config connectionStrings section rather than in my windsor config. Is this possible? I know I can use the fluent interface and achieve this easily but my bosses want an xml config file. I also know that I can define a property and use that in my windsor config to pass the parameter in, but I have other code that reads the connectionstring from the web.config directly and do not really want two places with the same connectionString.

• NSURLConnection on simulator and iphone performance issues

  I'm experiencing a weird problem and i wonder if anybody else has noticed this: I'm using NSURLConnection as it appears in apple's examples to get xml files from a certain server - pretty straight forward. And most of time it works, but sometimes it's just stuck after initialing and don't get into connection's delegate methods. I'm working with WiFi & 3G and the same server all the time. When it comes to didFailWithError i see that mostly it was a timeout error. When I enter same link in Safari it takes a second to bring data. And after another trial I can access the link. What might be the reason for such a weird behavior? How can I improve it? What is the role of cache policy with NSURLConnection? Thanks, Nava

  Hi, I have a problem with my apache2 configuration and I hope someone here can help me. There is one server with one IP and a few domains. http://123.123.123.123 should have /var/www/123.123.123.123 as DocumentRoot http://www.domain1.com should have /var/www/domain1.com as DocumentRoot http://blog.domain1.com should have /var/www/blog.domain1.com as DocumentRoot http://www.domain2.com should have /var/www/domain2.com as DocumentRoot and http://bullshit.domain1.com along with all other non-existing subdomains on both domains should return a 404 page. What am I doing wrong? That can't be so hard, and I'm sure I had it working before... In my current config all subdomains show the /var/www/123.123.123.123. I guess because thats the first VirtualHost apache is reading.

  Hi all I have the following CTE. Its purpose is to provide unique Month/Year pairs. Later code will use the CTE to produce a concatenated string list of the Month/Year pairs. ;WITH tblStoredWillsInPeriod AS ( SELECT DISTINCT Kctc.GetMonthAndYearString(DateWillReceived) Month FROM Kctc.StoredWills WHERE DateWillReceived BETWEEN '2010/01/01' AND '2010/03/31' ORDER BY DateWillReceived ) I have omitted the implmementation of the GetMonthAndYearString function as it is trivial. Sadly, it seems T-SQL is always one step ahead. When I run this code, it tells me I'm not allowed to use ORDER BY in a CTE unless I also use TOP (or FOR XML, whatever that is.) If I use TOP, it tells me I can't use it with DISTINCT. Yup, T-SQL has all the answers. Can anyone think of a solution to this problem which is quicker than simply slashing my wrists? I understand that death from blood loss can be surprisingly lingering, and I have deadlines to meet. Thanks for your help. David

  Is it possible to write C# code as below and send email using mnetwork in different country? MSExchangeWebServiceURL = mail.something.com/ews/exchange.asmx It's a web service URL. This works great when I run the same code from home network, my friends home network anywhere around, but when I run it from my client's location in Columbia it fails. I have a valid user name and password on that Exchange Server. Is there any configuration that I can set to achieve this? BTW this code below works when I run it within office network and any network within any home network. I have tried it at least with five friends network in Plano, Texas. I want this code to work running from any network in another country. My client in Columbia can connect to the web service using a browser using the same user name and password, but when I run the code above it is not able to connect to our web service.

We have just completed design of Data Access Layer which is generic in the sense that it works using XML and reflection to persist data. Any ways now we are in the phase of designing business layer. We have read some books related to Enterprise Architecture and Design so we have found that there are few patterns that can be applied on business layer. Table Pattern and Domain Model are example of such patterns. Also we have found Domain Driven Design as well. Earlier we decided to build Entities against table objects. But we found that there is difference in Entities and Value Objects when it comes to DDD. For those of you who have gone through such design. Please guide me related to pattern, practice and sample.   Hi, I am in process of porting and optimization of the theora video decoder in the ffmpeg-0.5 package to ARM-Cortex-A8 -Neon processor @ 667 MHz. I am looking for some target estimate for frames per second the decoder library alone should achieve after full optimization (C level and Neon assembly / Intrinsics) for 720x480 Progressive content for a 2Mbps stream. I have a Real Video 9 decoder on cortex-A8 which gives around 40 fps for the same stream above.(720x480, 2Mbps) How can i extrapolate this data based on relative complexities of RV9 and Theora and get a fps estimate for theora decoder Cortex-A8? I am aware the performance depends upon the cache configuration of the h/w, etc...,but any Any pointers will help. Thanks, -AD

  I'm getting the following error when trying to deploy a ZIP file to a remote FTP server. I tried connecting to the server using an FTP client (filezilla) and all goes well. Also, when connecting to a public ftp like ftp.belnet.be connections work fine. I'm trying to send the file to a VSFTPD server behind a router using port forwarding. Again, this works fine from any location using Filezilla, phing is not connecting though...   I have two customers that have the same workflow (Create file -transport file - wait for response - send response to internal team); however the implementation of each step is different for each customer. For example, one customer requires a flat file to be sent via SFTP, while the other customer requires an XML file to be sent via FTP. I'd like to create a sequential workflow, using Microsoft Workflow Foundation (WF) and reuse this workflow for multiple vendors. Each action's call to an external module can use the same interface, but a different concrete implementation. However, I'm unfamiliar with WF and I'm not sure how to implement this. Can someone point me to the proper way to use this pattern? Will it make a difference whether I choose WF 3.5 or WF 4.0? Thank you.

  I have a button in my app. When it is pressed I call the onSearchRequested() method. When this is called the stock search box comes up so the user can type some junk in there. When they press "Go" I need the results returned back to my application but instead the stock browser is opened and a google search is performed. How can I tell it to return the results to my application instead. • Notepad++ Associate custom ext for use by ctags

  Hi, I use .pkb and pkh extensions for PL/SQL files (rather than .sql). I have already associated .pkb and .pkh extension in the langs.xml (Styler Config) so that Notepad++ recognizes the syntax highlight to use when I open pkb and pkh files (the syntax highlighting would be the same as for sql ext). Now the problem is that I cannot use plugins that parse code using ctags (like SourceCookifier, OpenCtag,GtagSearch) because these plugins do not recognize the pkb and pkh extension. THe only way I could use them is to change my file to sql and when done change to the pkh or pkb ext. Is there any config that could make ctags based plugin work with non-sql ext? I tried changing various config for the plugins but did not succeed in making them work. Thanks.
