  • Change Gnome popup menus / combo boxes mouse click behaviour

    Whe right clicking in windows that have popup menus you can hold mouse button, wait until popup appears and release above the desired item to click it. This is different from Windows that have popup appear only on mouse release. And it leads to accident menu item clicking sometimes. Looks like the issue is there: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/320259, https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=575071. Is there's any way to change popup appearance time at least?

  • How to change time (Advanced Eastern Time) on Slackware 8.1

    Hi all, I have a linux (Slackware) machine and the time/date is like, June 23rd 2003, 10:00am (It's 11 here) and I am not able to set the time to have it correct. I change the timezome to Montreal but the time is still wrong. Is there a way to force it to sync with my domain controler or even another online NTP server? Thanks, David.

    Hi, I am using Word 2010 and some built-in features with fields, such as bibliography. My Word installation is English and I am writing a report in US English. However, my computer has its locale set to Denmark. This affects the formatting of dates and some of the text in the auto-generated fields (e.g. in bibliography it says "citeret:" instead of "cited:").   • System hangs after IncreaseUserVa change on Windows 7 64-bit

    By mistake, I applied the IncreaseUserVa 3072 on a Windows 7 64-bit: BCDEDIT /set IncreaseUserva 3072 After that, the system is getting hanged when I start an intensive Matlab code. I tried to revert the change using both: BCDEDIT /set increaseUserva 2048 or BCDEDIT /deletevalue increaseUserva But, I get to the same problem when I run the Matlab code. When I check bcdedit/enum all, it does not contain increaseUserva, after /deletevalue command. Any idea?

  • Algorithm to determine coin combinations

    I was recently faced with a prompt for a programming algorithm that I had no idea what to do for. I've never really written an algorithm before, so I'm kind of a newb at this. The problem said to write a program to determine all of the possible coin combinations for a cashier to give back as change based on coin values and number of coins. For example, there could be a currency with 4 coins: a 2 cent, 6 cent, 10 cent and 15 cent coins. How many combinations of this that equal 50 cents are there? The language I'm using is C++, although that doesn't really matter too much. edit: This is a more specific programming question, but how would I analyze a string in C++ to get the coin values? They were given in a text document like 4 2 6 10 15 50 (where the numbers in this case correspond to the example I gave)

From Firefox, if I give something to search in the Google search box in the browser, it is automatically taking me to google.de, and is returning results which is of no use for me. Is there any chance, that I can change the default to google.com or google.co.in or google.co.uk, something like that which gives me English results?

  • Change dead disk in DPM 2010

    I was backuping data on an 1Gb hard drive with DPM 2010. This disk died but I replace it with another 1Gb hard drive. But I don't find how to recreate data structure on this new drive from previous protection group. Protection group were red. I delete the disk in "administration disks", now protection group are green but they don't save data and I don't see any menu to change the disk destination. how to do ? thanks

  • apache sendmail: trying to change user "from" address from apache to domain account

    I apologize if I am asking a question already answered, but my problem isn't really that I haven't found an answer. I have, in fact, found a half-dozen different "solutions" to my problem, tried them all, in various combinations, and have been consistently unsuccessful. The goal All I want to do is change the envelope "from" address for all email sent from [email protected] to [email protected], always. What I've already done I am running Apache, PHP, and sendmail on CentOS 5.5, [email protected]. We have an SMTP server at 192.168.0.4. The domain's email accounts are all at @domain.org. I have successfully set up "smart host" using this line in the sendmail.mc file: define(`SMART_HOST', `192.168.0.4')dnl Then I set up masquerading, and was hopeful this would solve it. I have this in the .mc file: FEATURE(`masquerade_entire_domain')dnl FEATURE(`masquerade_envelope')dnl FEATURE(`allmasquerade')dnl MASQUERADE_AS(`domain.org')dnl MASQUERADE_DOMAIN(`domain.org.')dnl MASQUERADE_DOMAIN(`localhost.localdomain.')dnl This rewrites "to" addresses, but not "from" addresses. Testing from the command line: sendmail -v [email protected] Always is shown from the local user (in this case root, or my local user account). I had read that "sendmail" command sometimes bypasses masquerading. Nevertheless, using the "mail" command has the same result. After that, I have explored several "solutions", including: mailertable virtusertable FEATURE(`accept_unresolvable_domains')dnl LOCAL_DOMAIN(`localhost.localdomain')dnl FEATURE(`genericstable')dnl /etc/mail/access file /etc/mail/local-host-names file /etc/mail/trusted-users file All to no affect. The last thing I've tried So, I decided to go in a different direction, and try to set the envelope "from" address via PHP, using either the configuration in /etc/php.ini, or adding the -f parameter to the mail() function or to sendmail command. Help Please help. What do I need to change? Should I just start over in the sendmail.mc file? It has a ton of config options stuffed in it, over days of trying things. Why is changing the envelope "from" address via the command line generating a "User unknown" error?

  • Design advice for avoiding change in several classes

    Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to design a small application more elegantly, and make it more resistant to change. Basically it is a sort of project price calculator, and the problem is that there are many parameters that can affect the pricing. I'm trying to avoid cluttering the code with a lot of if-clauses for each parameter, but still I have e.g. if-clauses in two places checking for the value of the size parameter. I have the Head First Design Patterns book, and have tried to find ideas there, but the closest I got was the decorator pattern, which has an example where starbuzz coffee sets prices depending first on condiments added, and then later in an exercise by adding a size parameter (Tall, Grande, Venti). But that didn't seem to help, because adding that parameter still seemed to add if-clause complexity in a lot of places (and this being an exercise they didn't explain that further). What I am trying to avoid is having to change several classes if a parameter were to change or a new parameter added, or at least change in as few places as possible (there's some fancy design principle word for this that I don't rememeber :-)). Here below is the code. Basically it calculates the price for a project that has the tasks "Writing" and "Analysis" with a size parameter and different pricing models. There will be other parameters coming in later too, like "How new is the product?" I've tried changing the shortcut in Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Windows Explorer to %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe "C:\My Folder\", in case Win-E references this shortcut, but that did not help. Any ideas?

  • Web page change monitoring for Mac OS X

    There is a site that I need to monitor for changes and pop an alarm if the change is over a certain threshold. Ideally it would use Growl to pop the notification but I'm open to alternatives. If there is an application out there that does this for purchase, I'll just buy it. If not, pointers to any Linux / Java / other recompilables that I could just add Growl support to would be very helpful!
