• Autodiscover service seems to reply with User Principal Name instead of email address

  After this latest round of Windows updates (on 1/11/11, in fact) my Exchange 2007 server of course rebooted. This may have had the side effect of making any changes I'd inadvertently made take effect. Since then, the Autodiscover service in Exchange 2007 from Outlook 2007 seems to reply with the User Principal Name ([email protected] instead of [email protected]). I'm specifically seeing this from within the "Test Email AutoConfiguration" tool in Outlook (the UPN appears in the first text box labeled "E-mail") and when creating a new profile in Outlook. If I disregard the UPN and instead fill in my email address, Autodiscover works as expected and I can connect without issue. I've confirmed using ADSI Edit that the SMTP email address is properly set for my users. I even went a bit crazy and set the UPN to the email address using ADSI Edit. I've re-installed the Client Access role on the server in question. Exchange server is Server 2008, 64-bit of course. Clients are mostly XP 32-bit, though the issue happens from a Windows 7 machine as well.

• Non-alphanumeric character folder name auto-completion problems

  I have been working with Windows 7's command line and have some folders that begin with non-alphanumeric characters. When I try to use tab completion to complete the folder name, the initial character is not included inside of the quotation marks. Example: C:\Users\username\!example is the folder I want to get into, but when I type: cd ! and press <Tab> to autocomplete, it will complete to cd !"!example" instead of the expected cd "!example" Any ideas on how to fix this besides changing the folder names? EDIT: I realize I could just tab through the entire list after entering cd, but I'm looking for a way to speed up the process. I have been spending a significant amount of time navigating these folders. UPDATE: This also happens if there is a space in the directory. For example: "c:\Program Files". In order to continue using tab to complete, first the second quote has to be deleted. C:\Program press Tab "C:\Program Files" is what appears. To navigate to a subdirectory, first the quote after Program Files has to be deleted before the next directory can be spelled out.

• Cannot access shares via full domain name on Server 2008R2

  Hi, I have a strange issue. We have a 2008R2 PDC and BDC. I can join the domain fine and everything seems "normal". However, on some of the other 2008R2 servers, I am unable to do things like a gpupdate. When I try, I get an error that the clocks are wrong (they aren't) and that I don't have permission. So far, this has only affected our 2008R2 servers -- the Win 7 clients are fine. The really strange things is if I browse to: \\mydomain.lan\sysvol - I get the error. But! if I browse to: \\MYDOMAIN\sysvol - it works fine. I can also access the \hostname.domain\sysvol remotely for each of the DC's and it's fine. So in short, it appears the permissions are fine since I can access them all individually on the same account. It also seems unlikely it's on the server as most clients can access it fine. The only drama I have is when I try to use the full domain name (which of course gpupdate does) on a 2008R2 server. Also, it's not just sysvol...netlogon has the same issues too on the affected machines. Any ideas? Thanks! Drew

• How to display/define Mirror/Stripping pairs with mdadm

  I want to make a standard linux software Raid10 over 4 HDD. The server has 4HDDs, 2 pairs from different vendors in order to avoid batch problems. I want to have the mirror over two different Vendors, and then the Stripe over the mirror pairs. I could do that by manually creating Raid1/0, but mdadm supports Raid level 10. • Kerberos issues after new server of same name joined to domain

  Environment: Windows Server 2012, 2 Domain Controllers, 1 domain. A server called Sharepoint1 was joined to the domain (running Sharepoint 2013 using NTLM). The fresh install for Sharepoint1 (OS and Sharepoint) is performed and set up for Kerberos and joined to the domain using the same name. Two SPNs added for HTTP/sharepoint1 and HTTP/sharepoint1.somedomain.net for account SPFarm. Active Directory shows a single, non-duplicate computer account with a create date of the first server and a modify date of the second server creation. A separate server also on the domain has the server added to All Servers in Server Manager. This server shows a local error in the events exactly like This from Technet (Kerberos error 4 - KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED). Question: Can someone help me understand if the problem is: The computer account is still the old account and causing a Kerberos ticket mismatch (granted some housekeeping in AD might have prevented this) (In my limited understanding of Kerberos and SPNs) that the SPFarm account used for the SPNs is somehow mismatched with HTTP calls made by the remote server management tools services in Windows Server 2012 Something completely different? I am leaning towards the first one, since I tested the same SPNs on another server and it didn't seem to cause the same issue. If this is the case, can it be easily and safely repaired? Is there a proper way to either reset the account or better yet, delete and re-add the account? Although it sounds simple enough with some powershell or clicking around in AD Users and Computers, I am uncertain what impact this might have on an existing server, particularly one running SharePoint. What is the safest and simplest way to proceed? Thanks!

• sendmail appends server name to external domains when relaying

  My server is set to send all email to a corporate relay server. For the company domain, it works perfectly. I've recently found emails being sent to an outside domain are getting the hostname of my server appended to the email prior to being sent. Here is the log entry for one such attempt. Nov 6 09:46:45 myservername sendmail[45023]: rA6EkjiI045023: [email protected], delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=30590, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (rA6Ekj2g045037 Message accepted for delivery) Nov 6 09:46:45 myservername sendmail[45061]: rA6Ekj2g045037: to=<[email protected]>, delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=120885, relay=relay.company.com [x.x.x.x], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (ok: Message 342335947 accepted) Notice the email address difference between it being accepted by my server for delivery (correct email address), and being sent and accepted by the corporate relay (incorrect with server name appended). To make it more interesting, the application on my server uses email for user account verification/activation. In August, this particular user was able to register his account and activate it. I have made no configuration changes to mail since setting the server up over a year ago. DNS is also a corporate service.   I am using VS 2010 and Linq-to-sql I have deleted a couple of columns from my table, whatever I try I keep getting and "invalide column name" error with the old/deleted column when I try to insert a record. What tried: remove table,save, and drag it back on create new dblm with an other name created new project and create new dbml there Also the name of the deleted column does not exist in the generated code of the dbml anymore, but still I get an exception saying that column does not exists. Anyone got a suggestion how to solve this problem?

I'm trying to get the first column only to be as wide as is needed by the text occupying it's cells The table is an unknown width, as are the columns/cells.

I want to call a stored function that has several parameters, but I'd like to bind the parameters by name, like so: NpgsqlCommand command = new NpgsqlCommand("\"StoredFunction\"", _Connection) command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; command.Parameters.Add("param2", value2); command.PArameters.Add("param1", value1); Attempts to do this so far look for a function with parameter types matching in the order in which I added the parameters to the collection, not by name. Is it possible for Npgsql to bind parameters to stored functions by name?

• Need content in UIWebView to display quickly

  Part of my app caches web pages for offline viewing. To do that, I am saving the HTML fetched from a site and rewriting img urls to point to a file on the local store. When I load the html into a UIWebView, it loads the images as expected and everything's fine. I am also caching stylesheets in this fashion. The problem is that when I put the phone into airplane mode, loading this cached html causes the UIWebView to display a blank screen and pause for a while before displaying the page. I've figured out that it's caused by non-cached URLs referenced from the original HTML doc that the web view is trying to fetch. These other URLs include images within the cached stylesheets, content in iframes, and javascript that opens a connection to fetch other resources. The pause happens when the UIWebView tries to fetch these resources, and the web page only appears after all these other fetches have timed out. My questions is, how can I make UIWebView just display the stuff I've cached immediately? Here are my thoughts: write even more code to cache these other references. This is potentially a ton more code to catch all the edge cases, etc., especially having to parse the Javascript to see what it loads after the page is loaded force UIWebView to time out immediately so there's no pause. I haven't figured out how to do this. somehow get what's already loaded to display even though the external references haven't finished fetching yet strip the code of all scripts, link tags and iframes to "erase" the external references. I've tried this one, but for some sites, the resultant page is severely messed up Can anyone help me here? I've been working on this forever, and am running out of ideas.

  Hi friends, I'm a drupal newbie... I have different type of contents like News, Events, etc. and their content is different. News detail page has title-content text-date. but Events detail page has title-date-content text-location-speaker-etc. So I need different layout page for these different types. So, I enabled Drupal Themer to get a candidate name. for events page, it gave me page-node.tpl.php and it gives same for News page as well :( how can I separate these pages? I expected sth like page-event-node.tpl , but no... :/ Drupal Themer also give unique candidate name for event page like page-node-18.tpl.php but it doesnt mean anything since I can not create a general layout for all events by this node name. :( Appreciate helps so much!! • Downloading file from server (asp.net) to IE8 Content-Disposition problem with file name

  I am downloading a file from the server/database via aspx page. When using the content-disposition inline the document opens in correct application but the file name is the same as the web page. I want the document to open in say MS Word but with the correct file name.   Is there any way to request an instance from the StructureMap ObjectFactory by the string name of the type? For example, it would be nice to do something like this: var thing = ObjectFactory.GetInstance("Thing"); The use case here is a messaging scenario in which the message is very generic and contains only the name of a task. The handler receives the message, gets the task name from the message and retrieves the Type of task runner from a configuration database. StructureMap scans all the assemblies in a directory and one of them will contain the Type returned from the config database which then needs to be instantiated. The other possibility is to grab a Type instance by doing the following: var type = Type.GetType("Thing"); But the problem there is the assembly may or may/not be loaded in the AppDomain so that reflection call isn't always possible.

  I want to create a display group generated from foreach() clause output. I can't seem to get the syntax correct. Here's the business logic: for each category row find the associated fees output the category description as a label and the fees as radio buttons then create a display group with the fees as the group elements and the category description as the legend.   I'm trying to display a simple DataGridView linked to a DataTable and I want, ultimately, my first column in the DataTable to be the row header cell for the DataGridView. At this point I will settle for having any value in the row header cell. I can display the DataGridView with all my rows and columns, and with column header cells, but no row header cell. I check the value in the row.HeaderCell.Value, and the data I put there is there. I check row.HeaderCell.Displayed and it is false, but this is read only, so I can't make it true. How do I make the row header cell display?   hi folks, I have a DataGridView bound to a table from a .sdf database through a BindSource. The date column display dates like "d/M/yyyy HH:mm:ss". e.: "27/2/1971 00:00:00". I want to make it display just "27/02/1971" in its place. I tried to apply DataGridViewCellStyle {format=dd/MM/yyyy} but nothing happens, event with other pre-built formats. On the the other side, there's a Form with a MasketTextBox with a "dd/MM/yyyy" mask to its input that is bound to the same column and uses a Parse and a Format event handler before display and send it to the db. Likewise, the result date for parse should be a datetime but its a string also. I'm puzzled dealing with this datetime column.

• Arch Linux with an nginx/django setup refuses to display ANYTHING

  I'm on Amazon Ec2, with an Arch Linux server. While I truly am loving it, I'm having the issue of actually getting nginx to display anything. Everytime I try to throw my hostname into the browser, the browser states that it's not available for some reason - almost as if the host doesn't even exist. One thing I'd like to know is, how can I get this up and running? Is there a specific arch linux configuration I have to do to make it web accessible? I have port 80 open, as well as port 22. I've tried using gunicorn, python-flup, and nginx. The thing is that Django itself is working fine, and my permissions to the document root of the where the site files are stored is 777. Ontop of that, I have a git repo which works perfectly fine, and django, python, and runfcgi all start without issues. The same goes for gunicorn, when I do a gunicorn_django -b 0.0.0.0:8000 in my document root. The access log is completely blank, for that matter. I just feel lost here; what would be a step in the right direction to bebugging an issue such as this?
