• Toggle DIV and SPAN text onclick

  I have been trying to mimic this website http://www.designrattan.co.uk/daybed/apple for a while now. I need to make a page where the customer can click "View 360" and then it changes the DIV to show the product 360 (for which I already have the code for). I also need to make it so that when it is clicked the span text then changes to "Back to Image" I have tried many times and have failed to get the Javascript code and HTML to work well together. My efforts can be seen here: http://designliving.tk/winchester-rattan-garden-round-table-set As you can see it is a complete fail as it doesn't change the DIV it just displays a new one. Also when you click the button it then changes to text instead of a new button. If anyone can help me here I would be massively appreciative and if I need to pay you for your efforts then please contact me on [email protected]

• Getting a list of all phone contacts?

  Simple enough question. I need to know the best way to get the same list of contacts that show up when a user presses the Contacts button. You would think something like this would work: //For Contacts Intent pickIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, People.CONTENT_URI); this.startActivityForResult(pickIntent, RESULT); //For Phones Intent pickIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, Phones.CONTENT_URI); this.startActivityForResult(pickIntent, RESULT); The problem is that does not include secondary google accounts or Exchange contacts. By secondary accounts, in Android you can add additional gmail accounts to have the mail/contacts synced. The above intent will not list those additional contacts. I am also told that on the HTC Desire you can add contacts to the phone that do not get synced up to Google. These contacts also do not show up. So how do I get a real list of contacts so I can create my own list activity that works properly where the Google intent does not.

• Squid+iptables: how do i allow https to pass-through and bypassing Squid?

  Hello, Basically started with Squid and iptables today (google is your friend). This stuff is going to be the death of me. I have Squid3 setup on Ubuntu 9.04 server as Transparent Proxy. It works sweetly when i use the proxy-box as my default gateway etc. The iptable rules for this setup was part of the tutorial. :P I can unfortunately not access https sites (such as Gmail or anything on port 443 basically). This is because Squid dont like what it cannot cache, which in this case is the https traffic. I would like to add an iptable rule so that i can basically access https sites and use Skype. Basically allow these types of traffic to pass through without going through Squid proxy? (bypassing it so to speak) Would anyone perhaps know how to do this or have a link to any sources that would assist me in figuring it out? Thank you.

• PHP: get contents of a remote webpage that require authentication?

  I receive many emails whose contents are of the same pattern, e.g. Name: XXX Phone: XXX Bio: XXX ...... I want to write a PHP script to parse these emails and save the data into a database. I tried to use file_get_contents() to get the contents of these emails. The problem is that, it requires authentication to access to my emails. Even though I have signed into my email account on the server (localhost actually), file_get_contents() still return the webpage that prompts me to sign in. So how to access the contents of my emails with a PHP script? EDIT: it is a gmail account.

• How do I validate that my the openid.op_endpoint when a request is completed.

  I have an Open ID based authentication system on my site. Occasionally users will have an account registered under [email protected] and they will attempt to login using the google open id provider https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id, in this case I would like to automatically associate the account and log them in. When the process is done I get a payload from somewhere claiming that openid.op_endpoint=https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id. My question: Can I trust openid.op_endpoint to be correct? Can this be spoofed somehow by a malicious openid provider? For illustration, lets say someone types in http://evil.org as their openid provider, can I somehow end up getting a request back that claims openid.op_endpoint is google? Do I need to store extra information against the nonce to validate? The spec is kind of tricky to understand

• Which PHP calendar will suit my needs? Or build my own?

  There are so many web based calendars out there that I'm not sure which will best suit my purposes. I want to create an events calendar, which I suppose looks and functions in much the same way as google calendar. But users shouldn't need to sign up for a gmail account or a google account. Users of my social network website should be able to create events in the calendar and share it with other friends in their "friend network". In month, year or day views, you can mouse hover events to see a bubble dialog that lists events in detail. People need to pay a monthly fee to use my website (not sure if this prevents me from using google apps). So is something like Google Calendar the way to go? Or are there other php/javascript calendars out there that already meet my needs? Or will it just save me more time to build my own?

• Jmeter Query new user

  First of all apologies for the below question. Am from a Testing background for the past 8 years and very novice to Jmeter. I went through the Jmeter site, and ran a sample recording using the jmeter.apache.org site and it went fine. I want to test my knowledge and understanding. So, I did the following way. Created a thread group. Added a config element HTTP Default Requests with server name as mail.google.com. Added a Sampler as HTTP request, set the METHOD to POST and gave the username and password, and i ran the test. When i see the Results Viewer, i could see the login page of gmail, I need to know how to pass my username and password and simulate the clicking of Submit button and getting the next page. Please help, am very new and will really appreciate if it's explained as simple as possible.

• Pulling international street addresses / phone numbers from free-form text

  Hey, folks. I'm looking for some regular expressions to help grab street addresses and phone numbers from free-form text (a la Gmail). Given some text: "John, I went to the store today, and it was awesome! Did you hear that they moved to 500 Green St.? ... Give me a call at +14252425424 when you get a chance." I'd like to be able to pull out: 500 Green St. (recognized as a street address) +14252425424 (recognized as a phone number) What makes this problem easier is that I don't care about parsing text that gets pulled out. That is, I don't care that Green is the name of the road or that 425 is the area code. I just want to grab strings that "look like" addresses or telephone numbers. Unfortunately, this needs to work internationally, as best as possible. Anyone have any leads? Thanks!

• autosave pattern

  I'm using localstorage to do gmail-style autosave on a webpage. So I basically save every 30 seconds to local, OK. The problem is recovery. I can't detect whether or not a user has crashed or incorrectly exited. So let's say the user crashed and loads up the form again, I can't just continue saving and overwriting the previous autosaves. I need to restore the previous save. But let's say the user didn't crash. He did everything correctly, but then used a different browser to edit the same file, so no new data to the previous browser's localstorage. He then loads up the file in the previous browser. The localstorage should not be restored in that case. Assuming there's no way to compare timestamps, how can I solve this problem? Thanks.

• Why there is so few AJAX (WEB 2.0) websites ?

  I am wondering and looking for some general reasons why there is so few full AJAX websites. Good example would be Gmail, which really uses a lot of the modern web technologies. But there is so few of these and almost all the websites use classic "request - pageload" approach. I am going to be developing website with most requests completed by AJAX call, as there is need for as few page loads as possible. So I am looking for some general advices or opinions about this. My personal big concern is search engines, because if most of the content is at one URL, how do you make that AJAX content crawlable ? There are probably more these questions which rise up, and I am looking for these to prepare for these problems before I start developing and it's too late to fix them.

  Hey Guys, I signed up with Google apps standard edition for one of my domain names say example.com. I setup the emails like [email protected] - and using the Google Email client and loggin as user contact - if I send emails to users - they arrive in their inbox. But when I send it through my php script running on my hosting account where I have registered the domain example.com - using the same email address [email protected] - it ends up in the Spam folder - I've noticed this in both yahoo and gmail accounts Any tips on how to prevent this from happening. • Why is Django sending the wrong email template?

  I'm so baffled... I keep staring at this code, looking for the typo, but I can't find it! template = 'emails/transporter_joined' tt = loader.get_template(template+'.txt') c = Context({'user':user, 'fee': settings.FEE * Decimal('100.00'),'settings':settings}) e = EmailMultiAlternatives('Activate Your Account', tt.render(c), '[email protected]', [user.email]) try: ht = loader.get_template(template+'.html') e.attach_alternative(ht.render(c), 'text/html') except: pass e.send() First it should load the 'emails/transporter_joined.txt' template, and adds that to the email. And then it tries to load a '.html' version and attaches that too. In Gmail you can see the the "original email" with both emails, and all the headers in plain text. It very clearly shows the .txt version twice. the .html and .txt files are definitely different. What am I doing wrong here? If I replace this tt = loader.get_template(template+'.txt') With .html instead, then it sends the .html twice... it must be Django that's screwing up, no?

• How to test my outgoing emails in MS Outlook?

  Some people are complaining my html emails are showing up as plain text with html mark ups and others are complaining about unusual characters like 0=D 3=D. They appear to be using MS Outlook. I just installed MS Outlook and configured the imap settings to work with my gmail account. All my emails appear fine. So I suspect I need my MS Outlook to work with an MS Exchange server in order to produce the results my other Outlook recipients are seeing. But I'm not sure how to get access to an MS Exchange server (assuming that is the case). Can anyone recommend how I can reproduce the same email environment as my recipients such that I can get the same bugs they get? Thanks

  I use this code to send an email: $headers="MIME-Version: 1.0"."\n"; $headers.="Content-type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8"."\n"; $headers.="From: $name <$email>"."\n"; mail($to, '=?UTF-8?B?'.base64_encode($subject).'?=', $text, $headers, '[email protected]'); If I use special characters Å Ä Ö from the swedish alphabet, they are not encoded properly, so they turn up like ö for ö. However, this doesn't happen if I change the $to variable to a gmail account email, then they are shown correctly. Anybody got any idea? Thanks UPDATE: When I echo $name, the name is displayed correctly, in utf8, with all special chars nicely shown.

  This is in regards to applications that run in the taskbar but should be applicable to standard apps, Winforms, WPF, etc. Question: I am after some method (preferably via managed code) to be notified when a user either has their screen "locked" while my app is running and/or know when they log back in. GMail Notifier does this sort of thing for example, if my PC is locked for a while when I log in again it shows a list of emails that arrived since locking the PC. I'm looking to replicate that kind of functionality. Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this?

• Use Advanced Font Ligatures in Office 2010

  Fonts can help your documents stand out and be easier to read, and Office 2010 helps you take your fonts even further with support for OpenType ligatures, stylistic sets, and more.  Here’s a quick look at these new font features in Office 2010. Introduction Starting with Windows 7, Microsoft has made an effort to support more advanced font features across their products.  Windows 7 includes support for advanced OpenType font features and laid the groundwork for advanced font support in programs with the new DirectWrite subsystem.  It also includes the new font Gabriola, which includes an incredible number of beautiful stylistic sets and ligatures. Now, with the upcoming release of Office 2010, Microsoft is bringing advanced typographical features to the Office programs we love.  This includes support for OpenType ligatures, stylistic sets, number forms, contextual alternative characters, and more.  These new features are available in Word, Outlook, and Publisher 2010, and work the same on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. Please note that Windows does include several OpenType fonts that include these advanced features.  Calibri, Cambria, Constantia, and Corbel all include multiple number forms, while Consolas, Palatino Linotype, and Gabriola (Windows 7 only) include all the OpenType features.  And, of course, these new features will work great with any other OpenType fonts you have that contain advanced ligatures, stylistic sets, and number forms. Using advanced typography in Word To use the new font features, open a new document, select an OpenType font, and enter some text.  Here we have Word 2010 in Windows 7 with some random text in the Gabriola font.  Click the arrow on the bottom of the Font section of the ribbon to open the font properties. Alternately, select the text and click Font. Now, click on the Advanced tab to see the OpenType features. You can change the ligatures setting… Choose Proportional or Tabular number spacing… And even select Lining or Old-style number forms. Here’s a comparison of Lining and Old-style number forms in Word 2010 with the Calibri font. Finally, you can choose various Stylistic sets for your font.  The dialog always shows 20 styles, whether or not your font includes that many.  Most include only 1 or 2; Gabriola includes 6. Here’s lorem ipsum text, using the Gabriola font with Stylistic set 6. Impressive, huh?  The font ligatures change based on context, so they will automatically change as you are typing.  Watch the transition as we typed the word Microsoft in Word with Gabriola stylistic set 6. Here’s another example, showing the fi and tt ligatures in Calibri. These effects work great in Word 2010 in XP, too. And, since Outlook uses Word as it’s editing engine, you can use the same options in Outlook 2010.  Note that these font effects may not show up the same if the recipient’s email client doesn’t support advanced OpenType typography.  It will, of course, display perfectly if the recipient is using Outlook 2010. Using advanced typography in Publisher 2010 Publisher 2010 includes the same advanced font features.  This is especially nice for those using Publisher for professional layout and design.  Simply insert a text box, enter some text, select it, and click the arrow on the bottom of the font box as in Word to open the font properties. This font options dialog is actually more advanced than Word’s font options.  You can preview your font changes on sample text right in the properties box.  You can also choose to add or remove a swash from your characters.   Conclusion Advanced typographical effects are a welcome addition to Word and Publisher 2010, and they are very impressive when coupled with modern fonts such as Gabriola.  From designing elegant headers to using old-style numbers, these features are very useful and fun. • Book Review: Oracle ADF Real World Developer’s Guide

  Recently PACKT Publishing published "Oracle ADF Real World Developer’s Guide" by Jobinesh Purushothaman, a product manager in our team. Though already the sixth book dedicated to Oracle ADF, it has a lot of great information in it that none of the previous books covered, making it a safe buy even for those who own the other books published by Oracle Press (McGrwHill) and PACKT Publishing. More than the half of the "Oracle ADF Real World Developer’s Guide" book is dedicated to Oracle ADF Business Components in a depth and clarity that allows you to feel the expertise that Jobinesh gained in this area. If you enjoy Jobinesh blog (http://jobinesh.blogspot.co.uk/) about Oracle ADF, then, no matter what expert you are in Oracle ADF, this book makes you happy as it provides you with detail information you always wished to have. If you are new to Oracle ADF, then this book alone doesn't get you flying, but, if you have some Java background, accelerates your learning big, big, big times. Chapter 1 is an introduction to Oracle ADF and not only explains the layers but also how it compares to plain Java EE solutions (page 13). If you are new to Oracle JDeveloper and ADF, then at the end of this chapter you know how to start JDeveloper and begin your ADF development Chapter 2 starts with what Jobinesh really is good at: ADF Business Components. In this chapter you learn about the architecture ingredients of ADF Business Components: View Objects, View Links, Associations, Entities, Row Sets, Query Collections and Application Modules. This chapter also provides a introduction to ADFBC SDO services, as well as sequence diagrams for what happens when you execute queries or commit updates. Chapter 3 is dedicated to entity objects and  is one of many chapters in this book you will enjoy and never want to miss. Jobinesh explains the artifacts that make up an entity object, how to work with entities and resource bundles, and many advanced topics, including inheritance, change history tracking, custom properties, validation and cursor handling.  Chapter 4 - you guessed it - is all about View objects. Comparable to entities, you learn about the XM files and classes that make a view object, as well as how to define and work with queries. List-of-values, inheritance, polymorphism, bind variables and data filtering are interesting - and important topics that follow. Again the chapter provides helpful sequence diagrams for you to understand what happens internally within a view object. Chapter 5 focuses on advanced view object and entity object topics, like lifecycle callback methods and when you want to override them. This chapter is a good digest of Jobinesh's blog entries (which most ADF developers have in their bookmark list). Really worth reading ! Chapter 6 then is bout Application Modules. Beside of what application modules are, this chapter covers important topics like properties, passivation, activation, application module pooling, how and where to write custom logic. In addition you learn about the AM lifecycle and request sequence. Chapter 7 is about the ADF binding layer. If you are new to Oracle ADF and got lost in the more advanced ADF Business Components chapters, then this chapter is where you get back into the game. In very easy terms, Jobinesh explains what the ADF binding is, how it fits into the JSF request lifecycle and what are the metadata file involved. Chapter 8 then goes into building data bound web user interfaces. In this chapter you get the basics of JavaServer Faces (e.g. managed beans) and learn about the interaction between the JSF UI and the ADF binding layer. Later this chapter provides advanced solutions for working with tree components and list of values. Chapter 9 introduces bounded task flows and ADF controller. This is a chapter you want to read if you are new to ADF of have started. Experts don't find anything new here, which doesn't mean that it is not worth reading it (I for example, enjoyed the controller talk very much) Chapter 10 is an advanced coverage of bounded task flow and talks about contextual events  Chapter 11 is another highlight and explains error handling, trains, transactions and more. I can only recommend you read this chapter. I am aware of many documents that cover exception handling in Oracle ADF (and my Oracle Magazine article for January/February 2013 does the same), but none that covers it in such a great depth. Chapter 12 covers ADF best practices, which is a great round-up of all the tips provided in this book (without Jobinesh to repeat himself). Its all cool stuff that helps you with your ADF projects. In summary, "Oracle ADF Real World Developer’s Guide" by Jobinesh Purushothaman is a great book and addition for all Oracle ADF developers and those who want to become one. Frank
