  • Unable to load dump files in Windows Server 2008

    I've got a managed process (x86) running on a Win Server 2008 (x64). When i'm talking a dump of the process via the task manager ("Create dump file"), i use correctly SOS on win dbg (it complains about symbols and such even though i have all of the debugging symbols installed). If i'll create the dump using procdump.exe [SysInternals], or via WinDBG [.dump -ma], i can open the dump file and use SOS without any problems ...what's the deal with task manager's "create dump file" option?

    I am debugging some C code with gdb. My program has a variable of type mpz_t * retval. If I run the command print *retval I get the output $23 = {{ _mp_alloc = 6, _mp_size = 5, _mp_d = 0x1001008d0 }} Is there anything else I can do to get more information about the value stored in retval?

    I'm trying to move our Google Web Toolkit (GWT) development from Eclipse to IntelliJ 9 Community edition. So far I've been able to run and debug client/server code successfully via the GWT Maven plugin and its embedded Jetty container. However, I'm having trouble debugging client code when it is already running on a remote machine (and hence there's no need for the embedded Jetty container). Has anyone been successful at achieving this? Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi all: I've got a method in my class only for testing purpose : private void printOut(String msg, Object value) { System.out.println(msg + value); } It is a wrapper method for System.out.println(); So I hope, with the use of Annotation, I can choose not to run this method during productive environment while still keep those diagnostic output ready if I am to switch back to debugging environment.   • Dev environment for smart client application

    Hi, we are starting a new smart client project, which is .net winform as client, connecting web service at application server in win 2003. currently, all developers are using win xp pro, to enalbe debugging at both client and server side, we try to get both client and web service installed on XP pc, but the web server require service account to be used for authentication to Active Directory which need IIS6, so it won't work on XP(xp only support IIS5). What is best way to work around this?

These ant scripts do not provide for a way to request a debug build from javac, i.e. neither debug nor debuglevel parameters of the javac task are specified. Is it still possible to instruct javac to build with debugging support without changing the build scripts themselves? The scripts are invoked from console.

    I am receiving the error noted below. I have built/rebuilt the files sevaral time. I have alson renamed the file the file in the *.exe The NetworkAssociation.exe file is in the debug folder. Any help would be wonderful Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debub target 'c:\NetworkAssociation\NetworkAssociation\Bin\Debug\NetworkAssociation.exe' is missing. Please build the project and retry, or set the OutputPath and AssemblyName properties appropriately to point at the correct location.
