  • UpdatePanel doesn't load correctly on second try

    Ok, I've got two UpdatePanels on a (relatively simple) CRUD-management page, and I'm having some issues with them. The first updatepanel fails the second time it's updated (infinite loading popout, page doesn't change, request comes back properly but apparently isn't used). The second updatepanel fails if the first updatepanel has updated first, or if a certain internal trigger is pressed twice. Interestingly, the first updatepanel can be called multiple times with no problems if the first has yet to be called. layout example: <updatepanel> <table> <trigger> </table> </updatepanel> <lightbox> <updatepanel> <multiple triggers> </updatepanel> </lightbox> The use of the second updatepanel is required for the lightbox to function correctly (so it can't just be one big one). The first updatepanel exhibits this behaviour regardless of whether the second is present on the page or not. Has anyone ever experienced similar problems/have any ideas?

  • WMD editor freezes IE7 for 3 seconds on load

    Hello all, I am using the WMD editor's original code(not the stackoverflow version) since I need multiple of 'em on the same page and stackoverflow's version makes heavy use of element IDs internally since they aren't going to be having more than one editor instance per page. The code runs fin in FF 3.5, etc.. However, when I run it in IE8 (in IE7 compatibility mode), it freezes the whole browser for about 3 sec. before a new instance shows up. I tried profiling it with IE's dev. tools, and it seems that the getWidth() function on line 520 of the minified version of the code is taking up all the time. However, when I tried to hard-code the return (since it was always returning the same thing), the bottleneck shifted to the getHeight() function. But when I run the Development Mode, the styles are not applied! I tried many different approaches, but it still doesn't work. What I noticed, is that in the HTML, the VerticalPanel is given the class name obfuscated by GWT, but the CSS is not send to the browser - in fact, the GWT doesn't even ask for it. Am I missing something?

    I am working on a ticket system, having the following requirement: The home page is divided into two sections: Sec-1. Some filter options are shown here.(like closed-tickets, open-tickets, all-tickets, tickets-assigned-to-me etc.). You can select one or more of these filters. sec-2. List of tickets satisfying above filters will be displayed here. Now this is what I want: As I change the filters -- the change should be reflected in the URL, so that one is able to bookmark it. -- an ajax request will go and list of tickets satisfying the selected filters will be updated in sec-2. I want the same code to be used to load the tickets in both ways- (a) by selecting that set of filters and (b) by using the bookmark to reload the page. I have little idea on how to do it: The URL will contain the selected filters.(appended after #) changing filters on the page will modify the hash part of URL and call a function (say ajaxHandler()) to parse the URL to get the filters and then make an ajax request to get the list of tickets to be displayed in section2. and I will call the same function ajaxHandler() in window.onload. Is this the way? Any suggestions?

  • Unable to load libsctp.so for non root user

    I have a Linux application that uses the libsctp.so library. When I run it as root, it runs fine. But when I run it as an ordinary user, it gives the following error: error while loading shared libraries: libsctp.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory But, when I do ldd as ordinary user, it is able to see the library: [sanjeev@devtest6 src]$ ldd myapp ... ... libsctp.so.1 => /usr/local/lib/libsctp.so.1 (0x00d17000) [sanjeev@devtest6 src]$ ls -lL /usr/local/lib/libsctp.so.1 -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27430 2009-06-29 11:26 /usr/local/lib/libsctp.so.1 [sanjeev@devtest6 src]$ What could be wrong? How is the ldd is able to find libsctp.so, but when actually running the app, it is not able to find the same library?

  • Why does IHttpAsyncHandler leak memory under load?

    I have noticed that the .NET IHttpAsyncHandler (and the IHttpHandler, to a lesser degree) leak memory when subjected to concurrent web requests. In my tests, the development web server (Cassini) jumps from 6MB memory to over 100MB, and once the test is finished, none of it is reclaimed. The problem can be reproduced easily. Create a new solution (LeakyHandler) with two projects: An ASP.NET web application (LeakyHandler.WebApp) A Console application (LeakyHandler.ConsoleApp) In LeakyHandler.WebApp: Create a class called TestHandler that implements IHttpAsyncHandler. In the request processing, do a brief Sleep and end the response. Add the HTTP handler to Web.config as test.ashx. In LeakyHandler.ConsoleApp: Generate a large number of HttpWebRequests to test.ashx and execute them asynchronously. As the number of HttpWebRequests (sampleSize) is increased, the memory leak is made more and more apparent.     In my Eclipse plugin I'd like to send a Java console output (loaded from some other system) to the Java Stack Trace Console. I pseudo-code it'd be something like: get the console output from the other system obtain a reference to a JavaStackTraceConsolePage instance send the text to the console page display the console i.e. switch from my plugin's view to the Console view Step 1 is easy as it is specific to my plugin. As for the rest I'm pretty much clueless - Google and stackoverflow.com don't come up with useful references or how-tos. Since the class JavaStackTraceConsolePage is part of an internal Eclipse API (org.eclipse.jdt.internal.debug.ui.console) I'm not even sure whether it's doable at all.

  • IE won't load PDF in a window created with window.open

    Here's the problem, which only occurs in Internet Explorer (IE). I have a page that has links to several different types of files. Links from these files execute a Javascript function that opens a new window and loads the specific file. This works great, unless the file I need to open in the new window is a PDF in which case the window is blank, even though the URL is in the address field. Refreshing that window using F5 doesn't help. However, if I put the cursor in the address field and press <enter> the PDF loads right up. This problem only occurs in IE. I have seen it in IE 7 and 8 and am using Adobe Acrobat Reader 9. In Firefox (PC and Mac) everything works perfectly. In Chrome (Mac), the PDF is downloaded. In Safari (Mac) it works. In Opera (Mac) it prompts me to open or save. Basically, everything probably works fine, except for IE. I have searched for similar problems and have seen some posts where it was suggested to adjust some of the Internet Options on IE. I have tried this but it doesn't help, and the problem wasn't exactly the same anyway. Here's the Javascript function I use to open the new window. function newwin(url,w,h) { win = window.open(url,"temp","width="+w+",height="+h+",menubar=yes,toolbar=yes,location=yes,status=yes,scrollbars=auto,resizable=yes"); win.focus(); } You can see that I pass in the URL as well as the height, h, and width, w, of the window. I've used a function like this for years and as far as I know have never had a problem. I call the newwin() function using this. <a href="javascript:newwin('/path/document.pdf',400,300)">document.pdf</a> (Yes, I know there are other, better ways than using inline JS, and I've even tried some of them because I've run out of things to try, but nothing works.) So, if anyone has an idea as to what might be causing this problem, I'd love to hear it.
