• Exchange migration to 2007 making Outlook 2003 unable to read meeting requests

  Hi, We are currently moving from Exchange 2003 to 2007 (8.2 build 176.2). We have encounted an issue with one user. In Outlook 2003 when getting a meeting request: "Can't open this item. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are nto valid." The item cannot be previewed in the reading pane either. The item can be viewed in OWA and iPhone fine. I've tried with cache mode off and on. Different computers. Same issue. There are the following entries on the account: SMTP [email protected] [email protected] X400 C=AU;A= ;P=Company Name;O=Exchange;S=LastName;G=FirstName; I'm loathe to recreate the account. This will be an extreme last resort. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

• DPM 2010 RC Mailbox Recovery Fails

  I am testing DPM 2010 with Exchange 2010. I am attempting to restore a single mailbox from a previous backup to a Recovery Database. I created and mounting the Recovery Database on the Exchange 2010 server and set the overwrite property. When I run the restore for the mailbox and point it to the recovery databse I get the following error. The recovery jobs for Exchange Mailbox Database MailboxDatabase01 that started at with the destination of EXCHANGE2010.domain.com, have completed. Most or all jobs failed to recover the requested data. (ID 3111) DPM encountered an error while performaing an operation for E:\DatabaseFiles\MailboxDatabase01.edb on EXCHANGE2010.domain.com (ID 2033 Details: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process (0x80070020)) MailboxDatabase01 is one of our MDBs and not the RDB I setup for the recovery. I am confused why it is even trying to access this as I have triple checked that the recovery is pointed to the RDB. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

To fill this up with some random data i used the following methods: var list = CreateRandomPoints(new string[] { "x", "y", "z" }, 20); This will work as followed: private IList<IDictionary<string, double>> CreateRandomPoints(string[] variableNames, int count) { var list = new List<IDictionary<string, double>>(count); list.AddRange(CreateRandomPoints(variableNames).Take(count)); return list; } private IEnumerable<IDictionary<string, double>> CreateRandomPoints(string[] variableNames) { while (true) yield return CreateRandomLine(variableNames); } private IDictionary<string, double> CreateRandomLine(string[] variableNames) { var dict = new Dictionary<string, double>(variableNames.Length); foreach (var variable in variableNames) { dict.Add(variable, _Rand.NextDouble() * 10); } return dict; } Also i can say that it is already ensured that every Dictionary within the list contains the same keys (but from list to list the names and count of the keys can change). So that's what i got. Now to the things i need: I'd like to get the median (or any other math aggregate operation) of each Key within all the dictionaries, so that my function to call would look something like: IDictionary<string, double> GetMedianOfRows(this IList<IDictionary<string, double>> list) The best would be to give some kind of aggregate operation as a parameter to the function to make it more generic (don't know if the func has the correct parameters, but should imagine what i'd like to do): private IDictionary<string, double> Aggregate(this IList<IDictionary<string, double>> list, Func<IEnumerable<double>, double> aggregator) Also my actual biggest problem is to do the job with a single iteration over the list, cause if within the list are 20 variables with 1000 values i don't like to iterate 20 times over the list. Instead i would go one time over the list and compute all twenty variables at once (The biggest advantage of doing it that way would be to use this also as IEnumerable<T> on any part of the list in a later step). • Lost Internet access in Windows XP Mode virtual pc under Windows 7

  In my office, I created and configured a virtual pc in Windows XP Mode. Everything was working fine. Now I'm on the road, and my Internet access (in the host operation system) is either via a hotel wifi or through my Verizon air card. Either way, I've lost Internet access in the virtual pc. I went into the Virtual PC settings, and set the Networking value to Shared Networking (NAT). Actually, I've tried every combination I can find, but I can't get from the virtual pc to the web. I'm hoping to use the virtual box at a client site, so I really need that access. Is there anything I can do to get it back? Thanks for any help.

  Specs for Samsung N120 Netbook Atom N270 @ 1.60 GHz / 160 GB IDE HDD / 2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 RAM / Windows XP Home SP3 So I'm still getting some atapi errors in my Event Viewer. Here are two atapi errors I am getting over and over again: (1) The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period. (2) The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0. In addition, I am repeatedly getting this warning as well: (1) An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation. I just got this back from repair, where before, I couldn't boot at all because I was led to a black screen saying "Operating System Not Found". Still, I got it back and it can boot again, without any hard drive replacement or data loss. So, how can I get rid of these errors and warnings? What could have happened during repairs to allow my netbook to boot again? Thanks in advance.

• After installing Apache, PHP and MySQL I can't add extension to php.ini without Apache error

  Hello! I have Windows XP OS. Installed Apache 2.2.14, then PHP 5.2.12 (tested with phpinfo.php - IT'S WORKS!) Then I installed MySQL 5.1. And now, when I add extension = php_mysql.dll to php.ini and restart server, Apache tells me that he can't start (small window with "The requested operation has failed"). Even if I add only extension = *smth*.dll --- the same thing. Apache just don't love my extensions. How to prove him, that they are cool and stuff? Thanks.

  We are moving a production site to EC2/RDS Followed these instructions: http://geehwan.posterous.com/moving-a-production-mysql-database-to-amazon I have set up row-based binary logging on the production server did a: mysqldump --single-transaction --master-data=2 -C -q -u root -p backup.sql then imported to RDS instance. No dramas. Due to the size of the db, and minimal downtime requirements, I've got to update the ec2 db to the latest datas via the binlogs, and it won't let me. mysqlbinlog mysql-bin.000004 --start-position=360812488 | mysql -uroot -p -h and it says: ERROR 1227 (42000) at line 6: Access denied; you need (at least one of) the SUPER privilege(s) for this operation My guess, based on what is on line 6 of the binlog, is that it's the 'write to the BINLOG' statements in the SQL backup, and because RDS doesn't support this, it can't run these statements, or something, I don't really know. Please help.

  I been working on this Servlet project all morning and now suddenly I cannot get eclipse to export the project to a war file. I tried restarting eclipse and cleaning the project but I just get the same result. • What is meant by "streaming data access" in HDFS?

  According to the HDFS Architecture page HDFS was designed for "streaming data access". I'm not sure what that means exactly, but would guess it means an operation like seek is either disabled or has sub-optimal performance. Would this be correct? I'm interested in using HDFS for storing audio/video files that need to be streamed to browser clients. Most of the streams will be start to finish, but some could have a high number of seeks. Maybe there is another file system that could do this better?

  My linux host connected to SAN with FC interface. It connect with one path, and see some luns, that can't access, because they need anohter path, not available to host. On boot linux probe all lun he can see, get read error on unaccessible luns, and hangs there for a long-long time. Is there a way to disable any access to some luns at boot time, and later? I found a filters for device ignoration for LVM and MULTIPATH, but it not help during boot process. Generally, lvm still affected too despite of filter, and gives me a IO error on every operation like lvdisplay and vgdisplay, but this is another question.

• How to reduce timeout for bad password on disconnected laptop?

  I use a Windows 7 laptop computer. When not attached to my AD domain, if I enter an incorrect password, I have to wait approximately a full minute before the failure response comes back. When attached to the domain, the response is instant. I think that what's happening is that is that when my entry fails against the cached pw, Windows tries to reach the domain controller and the timeout for that operation is about 60s. Is there a registry entry that controls the timeout? I'd love to reduce it.

  I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 box running IIS7.5 with Medium Trust configured for ASP.NET. When I have the website running from local content (e.g.: c:\inetpub\wwwroot) everything works fine. When I change IIS to use a UNC path for the content (e.g.: \\computer\wwwroot) I get the following error: Security Exception Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file. Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. I'm trying to figure out why ASP.NET/IIS would allow for the SQL call when using local content but not when using a UNC path. Any ideas what I need to do to use a UNC path from IIS7 properly?

• Mercurial SSH process blocks when run from Local System

  We are using Mercurial over SSH for our development. We use Hudson for continous integration, and have deployed it on Tomcat, running on a Windows 2003 Server using the Local System account. Mercurial is configured to use Putty's plink.exe as its ssh command in Mercurial.ini, together with a private key for SSH authentication. When Hudson attempts any Mercurial command over SSH, the operation just blocks. I can see the three processes being started: hg.exe, cmd.exe and plink.exe. On the remote machine, I can also see the SSH session being opened and the authentication key being accepted. After that, nothing appears to happen, and everything just blocks, seemingly forever. (As a side note, subversion/SVN over SSH works from Hudson to the same server, using the same user and authentication key). A solution would of course be the best, but at least a hint for how I should debug it to get further would be nice, since I'm stuck and haven't even got an error message right now.

• Files Corrupted on System Restore

  I restored my OSX today by copying the system over from a backup. Most things seem to be working, but every single GIT repo gives pretty much the same error fatal: object 03b45161eb27228914e690e032ca8009358e9588 is corrupted I have tried chowning, doing everything as sudo or root... I have no idea what to try next. This would be a normal git question except that it's on many repos. Ideas? Note: I'm using git 1.7.0.3 and I was probably using 1.7.0 before. Edit: Tried with 1.7.0.2 and it made no difference. I need to know how to use dd to make splitted ISO images from some storage device, I'm doing it through SSH: the process is slow and the risk of faling at the mid of the operation (1) is high then I need to know how to make these splitted ISO images from my storage device. (2) I'm searching for some reference on dd, it could be a book or a good website about it for when any doubt arises. 1 - I'm doing it on a ~60GB storage device, it took me a whole day to copy ~10GB from this disk. 2 - For curious people, I'm trying to recover an accidentaly deleted file from an iPod, until now I've been able to make the whole process, I just need to improve it beucase I left it copying the disk yesterday: Today it gave me an error when it was at ~10GB.

• IIS7 500 error if form is submitted more than 120 seconds after it was originally loaded

  Summary: When I submit a form (via POST) to php more than 120 seconds after the form was first called I get a 500 server error. If I submit before 120 seconds, the form works fine. I'm obviously encountering some kind of timeout but I don't know where to look. I've enabled failed request tracing and received the following error: ModuleName="FastCgiModule", Notification="EXECUTE_REQUEST_HANDLER", HttpStatus="500", HttpReason="Internal Server Error", HttpSubStatus="0", ErrorCode="The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request. (0x800703e3)", ConfigExceptionInfo="" I don't understand why it matters when the form is submitted relative to the time the form is first rendered (note: the actual form processing takes a fraction of a second). Shouldn't these two requests be stateless? Suggestions? Configuration: Windows Vista SP1 IIS7 php 5.2.x under fastCGI This is a development server running on my laptop. All calls to IIS are coming from localhost.

• Perforce Restore From Multiple Checkpoint Files?

  Hi all, I am working with a very large (~11GB) checkpoint file and trying to do a -jr (journal restore) operation. About half way through the file, I'm hitting an entry which causes an error to occur. I'm unable to come up with a conventional way to print, edit, and save changes to the offending line. So right now I'm splitting the checkpoint into files of 500k lines each...up to 47 files and counting. My question is, once I have these separate files: Can I run journal restore on each one separately to check for errors? Once fixed, is it necessary to merge them back together again to do my full journal restore? Any other ideas on how to tackle this problem would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, -aj

• Can't copy files with 'additional permissions' to ext4 drive -- files that have @ after permissions,

  I am copying files from Snow Leopard to a mounted ext4 share via Samba, that's on a Fedora machine. Some files cannot be copied, and give this error: The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items. I've noticed that the files that can't be copied have an @ at the end of their permissions whien I do 'ls -l' in the command line. For example, I can copy the second file but not the first: -rwxrwxrwx@ 1 miles staff 1448 May 14 22:55 test.txt -rw-r--r-- 1 miles staff 136 Apr 5 17:06 image.psd.zip From what I've found, the @ means the file has 'additional properties'. Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue so I can copy the files to the fileshare?? Thanks!

  I have a computer which had AVG Free installed from day one. After several months of operation, it starts detecting viruses and trojans all the time. Besides running a full scan, what should I do to clean the computer? Should I install another anti-virus or anti-malware tool (can it help?), or once viruses infect a system the only real solution is a clean format? (Lately I've heard of viruses that burn themselves in the BIOS, so a clean format might not always work ... how common is this technique? Should I burn a fresh BIOS as well?)

  When I open Reporting Services Configuration Manager on my server, an error message appears that says: Reporting Services Configuration Manager An unknown error has occurred in the WMI Provider. Error Code 800706B3 This error appears before I can even attempt to connect to an SSRS instance. In addition to this problem, I'm not able to connect to my SSRS instance via SSMS on my desktop. When I attempt to connect, I get the following error message: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. (mscorlib) Additional information: The operation could not be completed. (WinMgmt) Information about my environment: Server: Win Server 2K3 x64, SQL 2005 x64 SP3 Build 9.0.4053 Desktop: Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Steps I have already taken: I have installed the latest service pack on my server and workstation. I do not see any errors in my event logs.

• TP-Link TL-WA701N not working good as wireless extender

  I bought the device in subject to extend the range of my WPA2/PSK-protected wifi network powered by a TP-Link TL-WR340G device (AP+router). I configured it as follows: Operation mode: Universal Repeater MAC of AP: scanned my SSID and got it Channel width: 20MHz Security options: the same as the parent AP (WPA2/PSK with AES encryption) After configuration inSSIDer shows me two APs beaconing the same SSID at different SNRs (because I was with my laptop close to the extender). After a few hours my tablet, far from the parent AP, stopped working. I found that the scan reported two networks with the same SSID: one WPA-protected and one free at all. This happened very frequently. Rebooting the extender by unplugging it worked but this doesn't last long. Sometimes the extender stops transmitting at all, sometimes it beacons an open network to which nobody can connect (because there is no DHCP). What's wrong with my configuration?
