• How to setup Hadoop cluster so that it accepts mapreduce jobs from remote computers?

  There is a computer I use for Hadoop map/reduce testing. This computer runs 4 Linux virtual machines (using Oracle virtual box). Each of them has Cloudera with Hadoop (distribution c3u4) installed and serves as a node of Hadoop cluster. One of those 4 nodes is master node running namenode and jobtracker, others are slave nodes. Normally I use this cluster from local network for testing. However when I try to access it from another network I cannot send any jobs to it. The computer running Hadoop cluster has public IP and can be reached over internet for another services. For example I am able to get HDFS (namenode) administration site and map/reduce (jobtracker) administration site (on ports 50070 and 50030 respectively) from remote network. Also it is possible to use Hue. Ports 8020 and 8021 are both allowed. What is blocking my map/reduce job submits from reaching the cluster? Is there some setting that I must change first in order to be able to submit map/reduce jobs remotely? • Custom Glassfish Security Realm does not work (unable to find LoginModule)

  I'm trying to get a Custom Security Realm in Glassfish working (i tried 3.0.1 final and 3.1 B33). I read nearly all tutorials about this, but it doesn not work on my System. I'm getting the error Login failed: javax.security.auth.login.LoginException: unable to find LoginModule class: de.company.security.utility.CustomLoginModule when trying to login. Here is what i did: I created a little Maven project, which contains the needed Realm class, CustomRealm, and the corresponding LoginModule, CustomLoginModule. • iTunes: Burn an MP3 CD when I only have AAC files?

  Is there a way to burn an MP3 CD when iTunes only contains (unprotected) AAC files purchased from the iTunes store? There isn't an option directly in iTunes to convert AAC - MP3 like there is for MP3 - AAC, and having to convert the AAC files to MP3 and use an extrnal tool to burn the disk would be time-consuming. Are there any plugins for iTunes that can accomplish this? Or programs which can read an iTunes playlist, convert the tracks to MP3 "on the fly" while burning the CD?

• Rails 3 shows 404 error instead of index.html (nginx + unicorn)

  I have an index.html in public/ that should be loading by default but instead I get a 404 error when I try to access http://example.com/ The page you were looking for doesn't exist. You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved. This has something to do with nginx and unicorn which I am using to power Rails 3 When take unicorn out of the nginx configuration file, the problem goes away and index.html loads just fine.   I'm trying to save webpage as an image. The web page I'm trying to save is bit long and has many images (http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2012/10/hurricane_sandy_the_superstorm.html) I tried Google Chrome Screen Capture Extention and few other Chrome Screen Capture Plugins but all gave empty image as output. How to overcome this? Is there any other known Plugin (non Chrome is OK) to save large web page as an Image?

Some assumptions: • code control version ok - git (de facto tool) • test framework ok - whatever (rspec is my choice) • code coverage and analysis ok - whatever (metric-fu, for example) • server stack ok - (Passenger for example) • issue tracker (RedMine) • etc, ...   I try to setup a project with spring-test using TestNg in Maven. So, test-context.xml is under src/test/resources/, how do I indicate this in the pom.xml so that 'mvn test' command will work? Thanks, UPDATE: Thanks for the reply. Cannot load context file error was caused by I moved the file arround in different location since I though the classpath was the problem. UPDATE: I think I got the problem (still don't know why) - Whenever I extends AbstractTestNGSpringContextTests or AbstractTransactionalTestNGSpringContextTests, the test will failed with this error: Failed tests: springTestContextBeforeTestMethod(org.sonatype.mavenbook.simple.AppTest) springTestContextAfterTestMethod(org.sonatype.mavenbook.simple.AppTest) So, eventually the error went away when I override the two methods. I don't think this is the right way, didn't find much info from spring-test doc. If you know spring test framework, please shred some light on this.

  All I want is be able to use flash and javascript while using Tor (I don't intend to use it for torrents) Normally, using flash with Tor is not recommended because firefox plugins run outside of the sandbox, so the browser's proxy settings don't apply to them, and can reveal your real IP. But I think it should be possible to also redirect flash to the same socket as the browser, and block the other outgoing ports just in case. Any ideas on how to do this?

  Currently I have been using WinAmp, with MilkDrop visulization plugins to disply visulizations that go with the music. This works fine for normal music files, but now I am in a situation where I require visulizations for a live audio in feed. Is there currently any software out there that can be used to show visulizations for live audio, or even if nothing good exists, is there anyway to still use WinAmp for live audio ?

  I am trying to activate the CDN tools plugin and I keep getting the following error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /srv/www/www.triathleteskitchen.com/wp-content/plugins/cdn-tools/cdn_classes/cloudfiles/cloudfiles_http.php on line 252 After extensive research on this issue in which I updated both of the following settings: max_execution_time = 300 memory_limit = 128M and verified the settings are active by setting up a dump phpinfo() page.   I've got a Fedora 13 server setup and running successfully. Unfortunately I'm having issues making sure the clients can hear sound. • Turn off email notification from abrt (Automatic Bug Reporting Tool)

  I'm configuring CentOS 6.2 and have seen a few "[abrt] full crash report" emails. I understand that abrt is useful for creating crash dumps and what not, so I don't want to disable the service, I just would like to stop getting the crash report emails. I probably have to add something to the config file in /etc/abrt/abrt.conf. I can't seem to find anything in my searches. Any idea? Thanks. Edit: Here is my abrt.conf, which is rather simple. • Using gVIM as a replacement for Visual Studio

  Hi all, Is there a good way to get gVim working as an IDE replacement? I'm moreso looking for suggestions for Intellisense-type plugins...code completion...maybe easy directory browsing (other than the standard 'edit.' command). I'm building embedded applications in C...so I have no need to incorporate any debugging elements, and for the build process I can just have a console window open to call my batch file whenever it is required (or if I could call it through some hotkey combination in gVIM...that would be awesome as well).
