Apache: Setting up a reverse proxy configuration with SSL with url rewriting

There is a host: secure.foo.com that exposes a webservice using https I want to create a reverse proxy using Apache that maps a local http port on a server internal.bar.com to the https service exposed by secure.foo.com Since it a web service I need to map all urls so that a path: https://secure.foo.com/some/path/123 is accessible by going to: http://internal.bar.com/some/path/123 Thanks. IIS: redirect everything to another URL, except for one Directory

I have an IIS server (IIS 6, Win 2003) that hosts the site http://www.foo.com. I want any request to http://foo.com (no matter what path/filename is used) to redirect to http://www.bar.org/AwesomePage.html UNLESS the request is for http://www.foo.com/specialdir, in which case the HTML files in the local directory specialdir should be used. The problem I have is once the redirect is set it also affects /specialdir - even if I right click on that directory and select "content should come from ... local directory" that change does not take effect, and the directory still shows as redirecting to http://www.bar.org/AwesomePage.html. The same thing happens if I try to set individual files to load from the local system instead of redirecting - IIS gives no error, but the change does not take effect and the files still show as being redirected. How can I set specialdir to override the redirection to the new URL?

Nginx reverse proxy + URL rewrite

Nginx is running on port 80, and I'm using it to reverse proxy URLs with path /foo to port 3200 this way: location /foo { proxy_pass http://localhost:3200; proxy_redirect off; proxy_set_header Host $host; } This works fine, but I have an application on port 3200, for which I don't want the initial /foo to be sent to. That is - when I access http://localhost/foo/bar, I want only /bar to be the path as received by the app. So I tried adding this line: rewrite ^(.*)foo(.*)$ http://localhost:3200/$2 permanent; This causes 302 redirect (change in URL), but I want 301. What should I do?

Citrix Access Gateway not redirecting to login URL

We have an older setup for XenApp - users log in through Citrix Secure Gateway running on a windows box. (We hope to start using a NetScaler soon.) Earlier today, connections to https://citrix.company.com/ starting throwing up a 503 error page, instead of redirecting to https://citrix.company.com/Citrix/XenApp/ If you go directly to the /Citrix/Xenapp/ URL, the user is properly directed to the login page, and can launch apps. We've restarted the service, and rebooted the server. We haven't yet tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Before we do this, I'm looking for ideas as to how we can get the redirect working again without a fairly major outage window. To make things more interesting, many of our users have Citrix Receiver installed, also pointed at https://citrix.company.com/. Receiver makes itself the default launcher for ICA files, and gives a connection error when it tries to load apps - probably because of the same non-functional rediect?

Mod_rewrite pretty url when domain/foo is a directory

Starting with something as simple as: RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?page=$1 What if I also want the following to work: RewriteRule ^/foo$ /index.php?page=foo #/foo IS a directory This seem to work ONLY if the R flag is set, but then the full non-pretty url is written. Thus it seems I can REDIRECT existing directory, but not rewrite them... Maybe with an .htaccess inside the directory itself? Or some PHP magic in /foo/index.php like header(/index.php?page=foo)? Will it work? Will it be HTTP standard/search engine optimized? Please help! PS: The oddest idea occurred to me: redirecting /foo to /not-a-dir, and then rewriting /not-a-dir to /index.php?p=foo should theorically work... But... Come on... Really?!?

Extract MP3 URL from a SWF file

I have a SWF file that basically shows a streamer, and it plays a song (I'm guessing it's MP3) that it links to, somewhere. I know the audio isn't embedded in the file since the SWF's file size is ~370KB. With most flash FLV and MP3 players, Internet Download Manager catches the URL as soon as the video/audio starts to load, and I can easily download it using IDM. In this case, IDM doesn't seem to sense anything - so I thought maybe I could extract the MP3 location myself. I tried decompiling the SWF file, as I'd heard before that with some files, decompiling can help in breaking down a file and getting just the info you need - but I honestly don't know what to look for in this particular file. Suggestions?

Issue with https:// url going to an unknown location

We have a website (ASP.NET/Plesk 9.5.5) that can be accessed just fine through the regular URL (http://example.com). However when accessing the site through https://example.com the site displays the invalid security certificate warning, which is fine since we don't have an SSL certificate. If I add an exception, I'm sent to a completely separate site that is apparently hosting a malware script (I'm still on https://example.com though). Because of this Google has flagged the site as dangerous. I can't find anything in the Plesk panel that would help fix this, and as far as I can tell those files don't exist on our server. How do I tell where the https:// link is sending me? I'm not that familiar with DNS, but is that what is causing this behavior?

Changing Admin Site URL (actually port) - how?

I have a new install of the band new SharePoint 2010. I use host header identified site collections for everything. By default the admin site is on a random port. I would like to move the admin site to port 80, for the server name. As all sites have coded names (for example "intranet", "projects") this would allow administration via the server name - which is easier as external access does not have to remember the port number. How do I do this? I already changed the default URL, but the site (application) is still wrongly mapped. I dont find anything to change the IIS settings in the admin site. I possibly just miss it - so can anyone point me in the right direction?

CPanel: Every url is being redirected to http://:2083

On my cpanel server, I restored about 50 accounts from crashed cpanel server. All of the sites were working fine, but suddenly without changing anything, every site started to get redirected to url "http://:2083/"., There is nothing in logs, no errors. when i do wget it says: wget grinfeld.com.br --2012-09-04 13:18:23-- http://grinfeld.com.br/ Resolving grinfeld.com.br... 198.101.221.254 Connecting to grinfeld.com.br|198.101.221.254|:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 301 Moved Location: https://:2083/ [following] https://:2083/: Invalid host name.

mod_rewrite hide subdirectory in return url part2

Hi I am having an issue trying to get my mod_rewrite configuration correctly i have a site: 0.0.0.0/oldname/directories/index.php I would like to rename "oldname" to "newname" resulting in: 0.0.0.0/newname/directories/index.php etc.. So when a user navigates to 0.0.0.0 my site will automatically send them to 0.0.0.0/oldname/index.php I'm not planning on moving my content marketing have asked me to rename the site folder I would like to mask the request of 0.0.0.0/oldname/index.php to 0.0.0.0/newname/index.php Also if a user navigates from index.php to an link of say /oldname/project1/index.Php the final browsers returned URL will be /newname/project1.php without having to move or edit site links. I also understand my hyperlinks will refer to /oldname but this is acceptable any help would be highly appreciated. Regards

Rewrite the Base URL with mod_rewrite

My Domain example.com points to the directory public_html. In the directory public_html/php is my index.php file. Now I want that the URL example.com points to *public_html/php/index.php*. I must do this with mod_rewrite because I have no access to the httpd.conf to do something wth Alias oder DocumentBase. In the directory public_html is my .htacces filewith the following content: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} exaple.com$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /php/index.php [L,QSA] This do half of the job, because when I enter something like example.com/s in my browser it points to *public_html/php/index.php* as I want it to do. But when I just enter example.com it points to *public_html*. What can I do to fix this?

Can Camel Jetty proxy URL share the webapplication context

I am struggling with Camel Jetty Proxy Routes. At times, the routes exhibits inconsistent behavior. My Proxy app deployed with context root "Proxy", however, if give that as the context path for my proxy URL I get service not found error. If change the Proxy to an arbitrary context such as "Dummy" then the route works. Is that how camel jetty component works? From Path: jetty:http://0.0.0.0:6080/Proxy/PurchaseOrder/?matchOnUriPrefix=true&disableStreamCache=true&traceEnabled=true To Path: jetty:http://localhost:7001/Provider/PurchaseOrder/?bridgeEndpoint=true&throwExceptionOnFailure=false Another issue i noticed with jetty is If deploy both Proxy and Provider on the same app container(same listening port), then the route completely stops working saying "Provider/PurchaseOrder/" service not found. The only way the routes work is, both routes have to run different ports and the from route shouldn't share the webcontext path. I have requirement that if required I should be a able run both Proxy and Provider on the same container. Any help appreciated. Thanks,

I have setup tomcat 6 on a server with several different instances which run on different ports For Eg: http://10.XXX.XXX.XXX:8080/myAPP1 http://10.XXX.XXX.XXX:8088/myAPP2 http://10.XXX.XXX.XXX:8082/myAPP3 and so on... These urls are available two the users using these and other applications Now I want to hide the ports on which each of the applications are running... So that the user could see only something like this http://10.XXX.XXX.XXX/myAPP1 http://10.XXX.XXX.XXX/myAPP2 http://10.XXX.XXX.XXX/myAPP3 What is needed to be done for this I have achieved this for one url (i.e. one port) using the firewall rules and redirect the request on HTTP 80 port to the port that tomcat is listening.. But I want such patter to appear for all the urls... How can I go about this? Specs HOST M/C : 64 bit OS: Linux Redhat Tomcat : 6.0

Connecting via url to a server that is on the same network as me

Good day, I'm having problems with the ftp server I've just set up. I've already managed to configure my modem and wireless router to open up port 21 and setup ftp in my server. But It seems that when I try to connect to it when I'm in the same network as the server via URL, (ftp://mydomain.com) it redirects me to the modem's web interface. But then when I try to connect to it outside the network using a different internet connection. It succeeds. It also succeeds when I'm in the same network and I go to ftp://192.168.., the server's local IP. Am I supposed to adjust something in the modem or router? Or is this a different problem altogether? BTW I'm using Windows Server 2008 r2 as my server's OS and using IIS for ftp.

I've got a legacy app running a third-party ecommerce system under IIS6. Some spammers recently discovered a bad security vulnerability in one of the store's forms, which are allowing them to send arbitrary emails from our system. Unfortunately, this store "feature" is built into the default.aspx page's code-behind and I have no way to disable it without shutting down the store. How can I filter out URL request with a given querystring parameter? ie, I want to filter out requests to: http://www.mysite.com/store/?id=SendSpam based on the "SendSpam" string.

If we give the anti-virus a URL it should be able to scan it and give us a report, Else, it should be able to scan the folder that we put all the links into... i.e. if we download the entire content of the webpage from the 10 Child links... and 1 parent webpage... and put them into a folder, the anti-virus solution should be able to scan all the 10 CHild and 1 Parent data.. and give us a report, Else, the anti-virus solution should be able to scan any incoming virus in any file or entity that is coming into our server and generate the report for that file, Please help me thanks in advance...

Are all <canvas> tag dimensions in pixels?

Are all tag dimensions in pixels? I am asking because I understood them to be. But my math is broken or I am just not grasping something here. I have been doing python mostly and just jumped back into Java Scripting. If I am just doing something stupid let me know. For a game I am writing, I wanted to have a blocky gradient. In Google Chrome and Fire Fox I get 15 bars. To me that means ( 480 / 15 ) is 32 pixel high bars. Other than the fact that the first code snippet has shades of blue rendering in non-visible portions of the they are measuring 32 pixels. Now back to the Original Java Code... If I inspect the tag in Chrome it reports 640 x 480. If I inspect it in Fire Fox it reports 640 x 480. BUT! Fire Fox exports the original code to png at 300 x 150 (which is 15 rows of 10). Is it some how being resized to 640 x 480 by the CSS instead of being set to a true 640 x 480? Why, how, what? O_o I confused...

XForms and multiple inputs for same model tag

Hi! I apologize ahead of time if I am not asking this properly.. it is hard to put into words what I am asking.. I have XForms model such as: <file> <criteria> <criterion></criterion> </criteria> </file> I want to have multiple input text boxes that create a new criterion tag. user interface such as: <xf:input ref="/file/criteria/criterion" model="select_data"> <xf:label>Select</xf:label> </xf:input> <xf:input ref="/file/criteria/criterion" model="select_data"> <xf:label>Select</xf:label> </xf:input> <xf:input ref="/file/criteria/criterion" model="select_data"> <xf:label>Select</xf:label> </xf:input> And I would like the XML output to look like this (once user has entered in info): <file> <criteria> <criterion>AAA</criterion> <criterion>BBB</criterion> <criterion>CCC</criterion> </criteria> </file> The way I have it doesn't work, as it sees the 3 input fields to be referring all to the same criterion tag. END FIRST EDIT BEGIN SECOND EDIT: For the listboxes (ie xf:select appearance="compact") I ended up allowing the spaces to occur in the same node and then just transformed that xml using xsl to generate a properly formatted new xml doc (with separate individual nodes). Unfortunately, I did not find a less cumbersome solution by inserting them originally into separate nodes. As we all know that Meta tag has very important roles in Search engine optimization and if we want to have out site listed with good ranking on search engines then we have to put meta tags. Before some time I have blogged about dynamically creating meta tags in asp.net 2.0/3.5 sites, in this blog post I am going to explain how we can create a meta tag dynamically very easily. To have meta tag dynamically we have to create a meta tag on server-side. So I have created a method like following. public string HomeMetaTags() { System.Text.StringBuilder strMetaTag = new System.Text.StringBuilder(); strMetaTag.AppendFormat(@"<meta content='{0}' name='Keywords'/>","Home Action Keyword"); strMetaTag.AppendFormat(@"<meta content='{0}' name='Descption'/>", "Home Description Keyword"); return strMetaTag.ToString(); } Here you can see that I have written a method which will return a string with meta tags. Here you can write any logic you can fetch it from the database or you can even fetch it from xml based on key passed. For the demo purpose I have written that hardcoded. So it will create a meta tag string and will return it. Now I am going to store that meta tag in ViewBag just like we have a title tag. In this post I am going to use standard template so we have our title tag there in viewbag message. Same way I am going save meta tag like following in ViewBag. public ActionResult Index() { ViewBag.Message = "Welcome to ASP.NET MVC!"; ViewBag.MetaTag = HomeMetaTags(); return View(); } Here in the above code you can see that I have stored MetaTag ViewBag. Now as I am using standard ASP.NET MVC3 template so we have our we have out head element in Shared folder _layout.cshtml file. So to render meta tag I have modified the Head tag part of _layout.cshtml like following. <head> <title>@ViewBag.Title</title> <link href="@Url.Content("~/Content/Site.css")" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="@Url.Content("~/Scripts/jquery-1.5.1.min.js")" type="text/javascript"></script> @Html.Raw(ViewBag.MetaTag) </head> Here in the above code you can see I have use @Html.Raw method to embed meta tag in _layout.cshtml page. This HTML.Raw method will embed output to head tag section without encoding html. As we have already taken care of html tag in string function we don’t need the html encoding. Now it’s time to run application in browser. Now once you run your application in browser and click on view source you will find meta tag for home page as following. Wordpress: sort into sub-pages, then sort by tag

I have a wordpress page with two or three sub-pages ("TV", "WEB", "WATCH") and I would like to have the sub-page links on the page itself. So, far, I can pull the sub-pages the following way: <?php $children = wp_list_pages('title_li&child_of='.$post->ID.'depth=1&echo=0'); if ($children) { ?> <ul> <?php echo $children; ?> </ul> <?php } ?> However, is there a way to loop through $children so I can pull each link by it's tag? i.e. using has_tag('tv'), has_tag('web') Between the wordpress conditional tags and php, I am not sure how to write this.
