As I am still fighting with Conficker infection on my Win Server 2003.
I will like to temporally disable scheduled task services on server.
Until I can be sure that infection of network is over.
I can't access any tables on my oracle database.
When selecting the table product I get ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
I have tried this solution but I don't have sufficiënt rights to add a new user. I get ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
I am logged on as ADMIN to oracle application express.
The environment we use is windows server 2003.
What can I do to 1) access my tables and 2) get back the administration rights I am supposed to have?
When I calculate the sum of numbers in the column G of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet by using the formula =SUM(G1,G31) ,column G32 prints the date (0-Jan-00).
Is there any way in which the sum of numbers in the column G can be calculated?
I am using MS excel 2003 SP3.
If I have a group policy, and add a group/user/machine etc to that group policy, how long is it until all domain controllers have that change in effect?
This is a Windows2003 Domain set up with controllers at different geographic locations (Each with a different L3 network).
I realize it probably depends, but how do I figure out how long it generally takes for my given setup? Also, is there an event I can check to see if it has a reached a particular domain controller?
Microsoft Outlook 2003:
I used to have two profiles with my Outlook, but I deleted it and now only have one. It is still asking me for what profile to choose. I have tried selecting the option to set it as my default multiple times, yet it still asks me. How can I stop it from asking me?
When exporting an outlook 2003 Calendar to CVS, excel, or access recurring appointments that I have changed the start time on are not included in the exported appointments.
Example I have an appointment every other Friday from 8 - 12 that I set up as a recurrence. I then changed the start time on several occurrences.
None of the appointments with the changed time are exported.
How do I export ALL the appointments?
Had a thing at work today on a Windows Server 2003 box. In IIS Manager I'm trying to create an application for a directory. So I've brought up the properties dialog and clicked the "Create" button and it did absolutely nothing - no error, the application name box stays greyed out and there's no gear icon on the folder. Also there was no event log message.
Has anyone seen this happen or know of a solution?
We have a windows2003 AD and are using Folder redirection to redirect the users My Documents to a share. Is there a way to save certain filetypes (*.mp3, *.avi) or folders (My Music, My Pictures) on the user's hard disk instead of saving on the netwerk share?
I'm aware of the GPO setting 'Exclude directories in roaming profile' but I'm not sure if that will do what I want (we're using redirected folders)
I have a problem with a LTO 3 Tape Drive. I'm using Brightstor ArcServe Backup software with Windows Server 2003.
Sometimes, the scheduled backups will stop working and going into "devices" inside this software reveals that the Tape Drive is offline. The only way to make it work again is uninstalling the Tape Drive's driver and rebooting the server: Windows then auto recognizes and installs the required drivers and the Tape Drive works again.
Has anyone ever encountered a similar problem?
I have several Windows Server 2003 Terminal servers to service our domain users.
Sometimes the Default User profile (C:\Documents and Settings\Default User) gets filled with tempoary internet files, so when a new user logs in, he gets a 1GB profile (instead of 20MB) that fills up the server fast.
Why is it the default user profile gets filled up with files like that, by who and how do i prevent this?
I just installed 4 1.5TB hard disks (WD) in two servers (2 in each). Upon reboot they are not showing up in the disk manager whatsoever.
I'm running Windows Server 2003 EE (32bit) with 8GB ram. They both currently have mirrored 300GB sata disks. Why aren't they being recognized? Is there a disk size limit for win2k3 r2?
I have Windows2003 AD DFS share, sometimes when pasting a file it will not go in to the target folder, it makes a new folder with the same name as the target and puts the copy in that new folder.
I have a scheduled task on my server which runs a PHP script every minute. In the 'Run' part of the scheduled task I have the following:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" "http://www.example.co.uk/script.php"
So when it runs it opens Internet Explorer and browses to that URL.
Is it possible to get it to close Internet Explorer after running the script?
Whenever I try to click a message in Outlook 2003 or do "New Message" I get a Save As file window and the program stops responding.
This also happens when I try to open Word files.
I've tried rebooting and I've tried to go through the repair process on the Office install disk.
Our internal network folder can take up to 5 seconds to generate a thumbnail for each photo in a network folder. Usually, only 10% of thumbnails actually display; the rest are default jpg icons.
A thumbs.db file already exists inside this folder, so presumably the thumbnails have been generated before. Why do they have to be generated again?
The PC is Win7 64-bit.
The server is Windows2003 Server SP2.
I had removed the Libraries from my Windows 7 with this registry tweaks, but since the update to Windows 8 the Liebraries are back in my Windows Explorer.
So I tried to tweak the registry again, but it fails to get permission to change the value (in Windows 7 it worked).
http://www.askvg.com/how-to-remove-libraries-from-windows-7-explorers-navigation-pane/
Someone know how to remove the Libraries folder or to get the permission to change the value?
Here it fails to get the permission:
In Server 2003:
I would like to make a copy of a pre-existing local group on the server and then modify its users.
How can I make a copy of a group? (with a new name, of course)
Alternatively, is there a way I can copy all the users from one group to another?
On a Windows2003 server, I need to provide access to a subfolder of the central "project share". The main project folders should not be accessible, preferably hidden, because this access is granted for a freelancer.
Which minimal permissions can be applied to make this possible?
Sorry for the potentially ridiculous question.
Is there some sort of hack or work-around to upgrade OWA to 2007 while using Exchange 2003? If not, are there any ways to improve the default layout / skin? Maybe Greasemonkey scripts?
Running IIS 6 on Windows2003 server (with a web service app). I suspect the machine is I/O bound.
I'm hearing reports of errors - but not seeing those errors in the IIS logs.
What is the standard way of verifying this? Is there a counter in perfmon?
Thanks for the help.
Like a lot of offices we have a few public shares for different teams to save their data. Today I helped someone restore some folders from a shadow copy that had been deleted sometime last week. While I had the shadow copies (and backups elsewhere), I couldn't answer the obvious first question.
"Who deleted the files?"
We're running Windows2003 server, everyone has active directory accounts.
On a VMware virtual machine which has severe performance problems I can see a constant average of 20+ percent CPU load for the TASKMGR.EXE (task manager) process. The apps running on this server have lower load, around 4 to 10 percent average. The VM is running Windows2003 Server Standard with 3.75 GB assigned RAM. I suspect that the task manager CPU load has something to do with other VM instances on the VMWare server but could not see a similar value on internal ESXi systems (the problematic VM runs in the customers IT).
I have three issues...I'm using Outlook 2003 on exchange.
1) My email stopped storing messages in sent items
2) When I click on sent items all of the old items that were stored before this problem started occurring do not appear arranged by date, it keeps changing back to arranged by "To".
3) When I click on the deleted items folder it clears the folder immediately without my telling it to.
Help
On my server with Windows2003 Server after a fault in the RAM, I can ping to all IPs but I cannot see it at My Network Places. Could you help me if there is any Windows components to be reinstalled, or any registry entries to be redefined. Or is there any other solution?
Thanks
