  I am using qunit and jquery. Latest version of both. In my code when I submit the form I have the event as e. I call e.serializeArray() Here is my test. equals(args.data, [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "john" } ], 'input data'); And this is the error message from qunit. expected: [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "david" } ] result: [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "david" } ] As you can see to the naked eye the expected and result value is same but qunit is not liking it. I guess I am missing something.

• How can I determine if jquery tab is shown because of user click or from tab rotation

  I've been using the jQuery UI tabs for a bit now and an interesting request has come up. The current tab setup is using the rotation feature. I need to find a way to determine if the tab is shown because of the result of the rotation itself, or because a user physically clicked the tab. I've wired up all of the standard events, show and select and they fire regardless of the source of the tab change. Does anyone have any ideas? Basically I'd like to do something additional if the user clicked the tab, but not if the tab changes by itself via the rotation. If I wire up the click even to the tabs themselves it doesn't seem to get fired at all, I'm assuming because the tabs widget is using that event itself.

For example I have an event handler for some google maps stuff that is only called on 1 single page, I have some validation stuff for my contact page etc etc. My question, is how best to organise this code - given that each page only requires very little code but its different and specific per page?   I currently have a GridPanel with the Ext.ux.RowEditor plugin. Four fields exist in the row editor: port, ip address, subnet and DHCP. If the DHCP field (checkbox) of the selected row is checked, I need to make the other three fields un-editable. I've been trying to perform this code when the beforeedit event is triggered, but to no avail... I've only found ways to make the entire column un-editable. • Is it possible to force ignore the :hover pseudoclass for iPhone/iPad users?

  I have some css menus on my site that expand with :hover (without js) This works in a semi-broken way on iDevices, for example a tap will activate the :hover rule and expand the menu, but then tapping elsewhere doesn't remove the :hover. Also if there is a link inside the element that is :hover'ed, you have to tap twice to activate the link (first tap triggers :hover, second tap triggers link). I've been able to make things work nicely on iphone by binding the touchstart event. The problem is that sometimes mobile safari still chooses to trigger the :hover rule from the css instead of my touchstart events! I know this is the problem because when I disable all the :hover rules manually in the css, mobile safari works great (but regular browsers obviously don't anymore). Is there a way to dynamically "cancel" :hover rules for certain elements when the user is on mobile safari? I'm using jQuery.

  I'm trying to get my head around Core Data on the iphone. This is code from Apple's 'Navigation based app using Core data' template (method - insertNewObject) // Create a new instance of the entity managed by the fetched results controller. NSManagedObjectContext *context = [fetchedResultsController managedObjectContext]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [[fetchedResultsController fetchRequest] entity]; NSManagedObject *newManagedObject = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:[entity name] inManagedObjectContext:context]; It seems completely counter intuitive to me that the fetched results controller is used when inserting a new object. I changed the code to this: NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Event" inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; NSManagedObject *newManagedObject = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:[entity name] inManagedObjectContext:managedObjectContext]; which works just as well and does not require access to the fetch request. Am I missing something here? Is there any good reason to use the fetched results controller in the insert method?

• Any way to select without causing locking in MySQL?

  Query: SELECT COUNT(online.account_id) cnt from online; But online table is also modified by an event, so frequently I can see lock by running show processlist. Is there any grammar in MySQL that can make select statement not causing locks? And I've forgotten to mention above that it's on a MySQL slave database. After I added into my.cnf:transaction-isolation = READ-UNCOMMITTED the slave will meet with error: Error 'Binary logging not possible. Message: Transaction level 'READ-UNCOMMITTED' in InnoDB is not safe for binlog mode 'STATEMENT'' on query So, is there a compatible way to do this?

• Subscribing to MSMQ over the internet

  I haven't been able to find a clear answer to this problem. Is there a good way to subscribe to a MSMQ through the internet? Ideally I need security both in authentication and encryption for this connection. But I would like the subscriber to act just like any other client that would be subscribed on the local network. I believe I have a couple of options here Expose the MSMQ ports publicly Put the MSMQ behind some type of WCF service (not sure if that works for a subscriber) What other options do I have? We're sitting in a .NET environment and the main problem domain that is trying to be solved is to change the remote connections from a pulling system to an event based system to reduce the load on the main server.

I keep getting "sprite" undeclared when it is declared in the init method, and added to the child. Please help!! I'm sure i'm missing something really simple here.

  I know this may end up getting closed quickly. I could not find this in my searching through APIs. And this is probably a very simple question but here we go... How do you store data on a google application you create in which you and others in a specific group or more specifically the people who can edit a specific calendar, can reach this data? Person A,B,C have read/write access to a calendar, and lets say they want to co-ordinate information. I want this information to not be accessible to modify by all 3 though it is not stored in a calendar? (Though I thought about just creating an event in 1900 and then that fullfills that, but at the same time is a very hack way to do it) I would appreciate any insight you can give me when it comes to data handling in google applications, I am very new to it, but have been looking into it.

  I am trying to reset some values in a form using the a4j:actionParam tag. But it seams that null values never arrive in the target bean. The converter receives it correctly, returns null, but it is never set in the bean. The target is to fill in the start and endDate for different predefined values (last week, last month etc). • How to position an element so that it does not flow off the visible screen

  I am creating pseudo-tooltips on a page that has a lot of "a" and "span" elements that have these tips associated with them. Everything in the creation of the element is fine, and it displays fine. However, since this is a page with a lot of data, as you get towards the bottom of the visual area the tooltips start to flow past the bottom edge of the window. My initial attempt to compensate for this with window.innerWidth/innerHeight didn't come out too well. I'm using jQuery for DOM manipulation (but not jQuery UI). Given the event itself, and the height and width of the tooltip (which I can get with getBoundingClientRect()), how can I position this element so that the bottom of the tooltip is never below the edge of the window?

If any of the values are cleared the for multiple rows I want only those to be validated on update of that particular row. So i implemented the Grids item data bound event find each and every validator along with the update button and set a unique validation group. Basically, all of these functions look like this: function foo(arg1, arg2) { _eventQueue.push(function() { // actual logic } } I'm wondering now if it would be possible to cut down on this boilerplate a little bit, though, so I don't need that extra "_eventQueue" line in the function body dozens of times. Would it be possible, for example, to make a helper function which takes an arbitrary function as an argument and returns a new function which is augmented to be automatically added to the event queue? The only problem is that I need to find a way to maintain access to the function's original arguments in this process, which is... complicated.

• VBA Macro On Timer style to run code every set number of seconds, i.e. 120 seconds

  I have a need to run a piece of code every 120 seconds. I am looking for an easy way to do this in VBA. I know that it would be possible to get the timer value from the Auto_Open event to prevent having to use a magic number, but I can't quite get how to fire off a timer to get something to run every 120 seconds. I don't really want to use an infinite loop with a sleep if I can avoid it.
