  • iPhone app distribution: What name will appear on the AppStore?

    Hi there, Is there a way to change the name that displays on the AppStore, rather than the name associated with the credit card/apple ID associated with the developer programme? For example, if my name on my credit card was foo, and the name on the apple ID was foo, but I actually want the name displayed on the AppStore (i.e. next to my App's name and details) to be bar.   • Reading three words and sorting them in lexicographic order

    I am trying to create a program that asks the User to type three words and sort them in lexicographic order. EXAMPLE; Enter three words separated by spaces: Pear Orange Apple Apple Orange Pear The program is working fine (if I attempt the above example) except for one type of combination example that I will show below. EXAMPLE; Enter three words separated by spaces: Orange Apple Pear Apple Pear Pear The program is skipping the first word (Orange) if it is supposed to appear in the middle of the three words. All these DIVs have various positions, but I want to use a jQuery function to assign them new positions relative to their parent containers live on the page without any reloading. So, for example, how do I set all DIVs with the class of "apple" to a "top" value of "200px" relative to the parent container without reloading the page? Thanks!

  • Why is fulltextsearch for phrase ignored in SQL Server?

    I am executing the following SQL statement on an indexed SQL Server 2008 R2 database. SELECT * FROM mydatabase WHERE (CONTAINS(ColumnA,'"The Apple is red"')) The problem is that it returns too many entries. It also returns entries where 'ColumnA' contains only one of the words ('Apple' or 'is' or 'red'...) and not only the entries which contains the exact phrase.   • Best way to check for string in comma-delimited list with .NET?

    I'm reading a comma-delimited list of strings from a config file. I need to check whether another string is in that list. For example: "apple,banana,cheese" If I check for "apple" I should find it, but if I check for "app" I should not. What's the most straight-forward and concise way to do this? It doesn't have to be fast. (I'll add my solution as an answer, but I'm hoping someone has something better.)

    For my resume, I am attempting to add a shortened link to the app that I created. I looked around and found that apple provides a link shortener for iOS apps using the AppStore.com URL. Unfortunately, since my app contains the ² character, I cannot figure out how to link to my app. The long link for my app is: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/squared2/id498133871?mt=8 Also, is there a way to link to an app without having iTunes automatically open (only show the iTunes preview page)?

  • Toshiba Satellite laptop connected to HDTV

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6014 laptop running Windows 7 64-bit connected to a Toshiba Regza 42" HDTV with an HDMI cable. The laptop has a 16" display and the screen resolution is set to the maximum/recommended of 1366x768. The display output is set to "LCD+HDMI". The display looks fine on the laptop screen but on the TV it is not a "full screen" display, it leaves a good 3" black border all around all 4 edges. When I switch the display to "HDMI only", it is now too big for the TV screen and some of my desktop icons are no longer visible off to the side. What is the best way to set this up? I guess that since a 16" and 42" displays have different native resolutions, a LCD+HDMI mode is defaulting to the optimal size for the 16". But when I set it to HDMI Only, what is the appropriate resolution for a 42" full screen display? Thanks

    I have a full HD TV which has only 2 HDMI ports on it. Since I have more than 2 devices I connect to TV (e.g. laptop, game console, DVD player), it becomes uncomfortable to plug in and plug out HDMI cables every time I need to use the relevant device. I need a cheap solution to increase the number of my HDMI ports at least to 3. What type of splitter/switch do you recommend? Does the quality of splitter matter, or do they all produce the same audio & video quality?

  • Disable laptop screen

    I recently had the display fail on my Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop. I currently have my TV hooked up to the laptop's S-Video out which works fine as long as I'm running in Windows. For the first minute or so when the computer is booting I get no display. I was wondering if there was any way to disable the laptop screen entirely so that the TV display is active from the beginning (not just after Windows loads). I realize there may be a BIOS setting for this, my only problem is I can't see the BIOS settings screen since no display is active at that point so if anyone has any BIOS setting solutions I'd need the exact keystrokes to hit :)
