  Ex. I want to take the column with 12345..... and order 5 columns across as seen. next 5 numbers in column will be next row. However my code creates a 4 row gap in between each successive row. I dont know what additional logic (possibly if then statement) I can embed into do loop to may make it cleaner. I have this sample: ID count columnA ColumnB 12 1 A B 13 2 C D 14 3 B C I want to sort it like this: ID count ColumnA ColumnB 12 1 A B 14 3 B C 13 2 C D so I need to sort the rows if the previous row of ColumnB = the next row of ColumnA I'm thinking a loop? but can't quite imagine how it will work...   In my graph-package (as in graph theory, nodes connected by edges) I have a vector indicating for each edge the node of origin from, a vector indicating for each edge the node of destination to and a vector indicating the curve of each edge curve. By default I want edges to have a curve of 0 if there is only one edge between two nodes and curve of 0.2 if there are two edges between two nodes. The code that I use now is a for-loop, and it is kinda slow: curve <- rep(0,5) from<-c(1,2,3,3,2) to<-c(2,3,4,2,1) for (i in 1:length(from)) { if (any(from==to[i] & to==from[i])) { curve[i]=0.2 } } So basically I look for each edge (one index in from and one in to) if there is any other pair in from and to that use the same nodes (numbers).   So, I have an array that has 6 variables in it that I need to check against each other.. to determine what to return to the script calling the function.. All fields are of the datetime type from the database they are derived from. the fields: in1 out1 in2 out2 in3 out3 Array: Array( 'in1' => '2012-04-02 10:00:00), `out1` => '2012-04-02 14:00:00`, `in2` => '2012-04-02 14:30:00`, `out2` => '2012-04-02 18:00:00`, `in3` => NULL, `out3` => NULL ) the response: clocked_in or clocked_out What I need to figure out is, the best way to determine if the user is clocked in or clocked out by checking against this array.. so, if in1, out1 and in2 are not NULL then the user would be clocked in.. if in1 is not NULL but out1 is NULL then the user would be clocked out, etc.. Anyone have any ideas on the easiest way to achieve this without too many if statements?   I am working on the classic theme of Galleria to display a gallery. Here the requirement is to display the thumbnails in two row with the images in following order with a horizontal scroller if the thumbnails list div width increases more than 24. 1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15 17 19 21 23 .. 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 22 24 .. For if the images are less than 24 and more than 12 then the order should be rendered in two rows as :- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 .. For if the images is less than 12 the images should be rendered in a single row as :- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7... Presently what I have done is I am using css3 column property to do this using different classes on the basis of image counts. This is working in all browsers but in IE8. So, is there any substitute for css3 column property for IE8 or less. Or some better way to implement the stuff that works fine in IE as well.

  Hi, I'm having a problem reading data from a text file into ms sql. I created a text file in my c:\ called data.txt, but for some reason ms sql server cannot find the file. Is there any way to get it to let me do that? Because if I try to use String^ meep; outside of that Thread it doesn't contain anything. It works PERFECT when I use it within the thread but not outside of it. I need to be able to add that message to the listbox. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

• How to save enum settings in Visual Studio project properties?

  Hi, In the Settings tab in Visual Studio, I can see Name, Type, Scope, Value table. Define settings is intuitive if the data type is already within the Type drop-down list i.e. integer, string, long etc. But I can't find enum anywhere. How do I save enum settings then? For now, I have the following which clutter my code too much. public enum Action { LOCK = 9, FORCED_LOGOFF = 12, SHUTDOWN = 14, REBOOT, LOGOFF = FORCED_LOGOFF }; and I define Action as int in the setting. Then I have to do, switch (Properties.Settings.Default.Action) { case 9: SetAction(Action.LOCK); break; case 12: SetAction(Action.FORCED_LOGOFF); break; case 14: SetAction(Action.SHUTDOWN); break; case 15: SetAction(Action.REBOOT); break; default: SetAction(Action.LOCK); break; } Would be nice if I could simply do something like SetAction(Properties.Settings.Default.Action); to replace all above but I dont know how to save enum in setting.   I have 2 Auto Complete Views which i have to pre-populate with some text .However as soon as user clicks on the views , the text should disappear and allow user to enter text . I have written two separate on click listeners to do so . The On click listener for the first one is working fine . However i have to double click for the On click listener of the second one to work.   Hi, I'm writing a program for some data entry I have to periodically do. I have begun testing a few things that the program will have to do but i'm not sure about this part. What i need this part to do is: read a .txt file of data take the first 12 characters from each line take the first 12 characters from each line of the data that has been entered in a multi-line text box compare the two lists line by line if one of the 12 character blocks from the multi-line text box match one of the blocks in the .txt file then overwrite that entire line (only 17 characters in total) if one of the 12 character blocks from the multi-line text box DO NOT match any of the blocks in the.txt file then append that entire line to the file thats all it has to do. i'll do an example: TXT FILE: G01:78:08:32 JG05 G08:80:93:10 JG02 G28:58:29:28 JG04 MULTI-LINE TEXT BOX: G01:78:08:32 JG06 G28:58:29:28 JG03 G32:10:18:14 JG01 G32:18:50:78 JG07 RESULTING TXT FILE: G01:78:08:32 JG06 G08:80:93:10 JG02 G28:58:29:28 JG03 G32:10:18:14 JG01 G32:18:50:78 JG07 as you can see lines 1 and 3 were overwriten, line 2 was left alone as it did not match any blocks in the text box, lines 4 and 5 were appended to the file. thats all i want it to do. • SQL: Getting the full record with the highest count.

  I'm trying to write sql that produces the desired result from the data below. data: ID Num Opt1 Opt2 Opt3 Count 1 A A E 1 1 A B J 4 2 A A E 9 3 B A F 1 3 B C K 14 4 A A M 3 5 B D G 5 6 C C E 13 6 C C M 1 desired result: ID Num Opt1 Opt2 Opt3 Count 1 A B J 4 2 A A E 9 3 B C K 14 4 A A M 3 5 B D G 5 6 C C E 13 Essentially I want, for each ID Num, the full record with the highest count. I tried doing a group by, but if I group by Opt1, Opt2, Opt3, this doesn't work because it returns the highest count for each (ID Num, Opt2, Opt3, Opt4) combination which is not what I want. If I only group by ID Num, I can get the max for each ID Num but I lose the information as to which (Opt1, Opt2, Opt3) combination gives this count. I feel like I've done this before, but I don't often work with sql and I can't remember how. Is there an easy way to do this?
