(The SCCM GUI displays AMT Status: Provisioned).   • Excel changing decimal places on number cells when I edit the cell's formula

    I have a worksheet with thousands of number cells, all formatted "Number, 3 decimal places, use 1000 Separator ()". Starting a few days ago, if I edit a formula in any of these cells to reference another cell, Excel will change the decimal places to 14. For example, "=C$53^$B$4" = "=C$53^$B$10" will cause this. I am not aware of any settings being changed. Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix this?

  • Drupal on an NFS share has terrible performance

    We have a setup where a Drupal 7 site with the following setup - a VMware ESXi 4.1 host server running a web vm and an NFS VM. The web VM is using Apache and mod_php. The site is still in development thus we have to turn off all forms of caching due to the frequently-updated files. Each page request takes around 15-20 seconds to complete. Profiling the PHP code shows that the vast majority of time (normally over 90%) is taking by all the is_dir(), is_file() function calls that load up the modules. I've increased PHP's realpath cache size to several megs and an strace shows that the lstat calls then drop from over 200 to around 6 and stat() decreases a bit (around 600 calls). However, while this has shaved off quite a bit of time, I am simply unable to break past the 10 second per request barrier. Is there a way to get better performance out of this setup that doesn't involve caching? My CentOS machines have as many as six other users that share the systems, but the mpenning userid is the only one that has this issue. Approximately 5% of my logins see this issue, but no other usernames exhibit this behavior. Questions Given the kind of scripts I keep on these systems (which control much of our network infrastructure), I'm a little spooked by this and would like to understand what would cause my logins to occasionally miss source addresses. Is there anything (other than malicious activity) that would reasonably explain the behavior? Other than bash history timestamping, are there other things I can do to track the issue down? Informational Since this started happening, I enabled bash history time-stamping (i.e. HISTTIMEFORMAT="%y-%m-%d %T " in .bash_profile) and also added a few other bash history hacks; however, that does not give clues to what happened during the previous occurrences.   • Optimal disk partitions for database setup (15 Drives)

    We are setting up a new database system and have 15 drives to play with (+2 on-board for the OS). With a total of 15 drives would it be better to setup all 14 as one RAID-10 block (+1 hot spare) OR split into two RAID-10 sets one for Data (8 disks) and one for logs/backups (6 disks). My question boils down to the following: is there a specific point where having more drives in a RAID-10 setup will out preform having the drives broken into smaller RAID-10 sets.

  • VIM "upgraded" to expandtab and tabstop=8 on Python files

    After reinstalling my OS from Kubuntu 12.10 to Kubuntu 14.04, VIM has changed its behaviour when editing Python files. Though before the reinstall all file types had noexpandtab and tabstop=4 set, now in Python those values are expandtab and tabstop=8, checked also via VIM behaviour and also via asking VIM set foo?. Non-Python files retain the noexpandtab and tabstop=4 behaviour that I prefer. The .vim direcotry and .vimrc were not touched during the reinstall.     I have a server installed on one local Win7 machine (say as 192.168.2.14:8080/myAPP) and I want to access that server from different computer (say ip as 192.168.2.16). Even they are connected to same network I can't access server from other computer. I guess the problem is in firewall. This is working when I disable firewall and not working when I allow certain ports in windows firewall but keeping firewall on (As a rule to allow incoming connections).

  • Trimming / cropping a movie file ?

    Now, I'm not really sure what's the exact term here. As far as I saw, cropping is related to video size. I need a program to trim some parts of the video file. On a timescale, for example, from 0-60s, I'd like to trim the parts from 14-20s, and from 30-35s. Can anyone give a recommendation for such an application ? The movie in question is a .MOV file, so Windows Movie Maker doesn't work.

  • Sendmail yields "user unkown" errors even after (wrongly) setting up a catch-all account

    I was trying to follow the instructions found here to set up a catch-all account, but still I get the following message for mails sent to non-existent users: The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.1.1 [email protected]... User unknown (state 14). Everything else works, though... /etc/mail/local-host-names and /etc/mail/virtusertable were set up as instructed. Any advice? Thanks!

I have a couple of questions: Why do I get different versions from these 2 commands? How do I check the heartbleed vulnerability without having the 443 port open?

    I currently have a debian server that is running an openvpn server. I also have a dns server (bind9) that I would like give allow access to by the connected openvpn clients, but I am unsure as of how to do this, I already known how to send dns options to the clients using push "dhcp-option DNS x.x.x.x" but I am just unsure how give the clients access to the dns server that is located on the same machine as the vpn server, so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.   • When RAID 10 is SLOWER than RAID 1, why?

    We have a Dell 2950 with PERC and 14 external SAS 15K 73GB drives. An Oracle database job takes 3 hours to run with the drives set as hardware RAID 10 (striped across 7 mirrored pairs). The same job with the drives in RAID 1 takes only 1 hour. OS is Win 2008 R2 I think. Before we change the RAID level (with considerable downtime) on the production box, does anyone know why we're seeing this odd result, and if there's a better way to fix it?
