    i think that's what i need? i'm not sure i'm trying to run a command line program (BLAST, from NCBI) but it won't recognise the commands (blastall, formatdb, etc.) so i think i need to add the folder the bin is in to the path environment variable? i think that's what i need to do? i think that's what it's called? I think i've been shown this a few times, but i don't need to do it often, so i keep forgetting.

    Finding Line Beginning using Regular expression in Notepad++ (Sorry for this newbie question) I want to strip a 4000-line HTML file from all the jQuery "done" stuff, e.g.: <DIV class=menu done27="1" done26="0" done9="1" done8="0" done7="1" done6="0" done4="20"> should be replaced with: <DIV class=menu> In http://www.zytrax.com/tech/web/regex.htm#experiment I can do it with RE: [ ^]done[0-9]+="[0-9]+" but in Notepad++ 5.6.8 UNICODE Search Find, Search mode = Regular expression, putting this RE in the "Find what" field won't work (it will only find the 5 occurrences starting with a space, it will miss the 2 occurrences starting at the beginning of a line; IOW, the caret for line beginning, or the alternating it with a space, fails).     I could be barking up the wrong tree here, but I'm looking for help on installing Apple's Root certificate (http://www.apple.com/certificateauthority/) on a CentOS server via the command line - which I need to send messages to their APNS system. The code I'm using for this purpose is a variation on this: https://github.com/jPaolantonio/SimplePush/blob/master/simplepush.php - which works perfectly well on a Windows server, but as soon as we try to use it on a CentOS one, it falls over. We're lead to believe this has something to do with not having the CA installed on our CentOS box - but all efforts to do so have failed. As the CentOS server is headless, we need the ability to do this via the commandline. Can someone help?

After all my encodes are done, I would like to have the PC speaker beep, as I usually turn my large external speakers off. On Linux I would install the "beep" package, but so far I haven't found such a program for Windows 7. Possibly related links: System "Beep" sound does not function in Windows Vista x64 with HD Audio devices (I am indeed using an HD Audio device: the SoundMAX ADI1986A) What’s up with the Beep driver in Windows 7?     A task: To find all new files and subfolders under some root folder (let us say Documents) and to copy them to other disk (j: in this case) Command line used: robocopy c:\users\valery\documents j:\robocopy /XO /E /MAXAGE:20131030 /XD Result: A full folders tree created. Only new files copyed, as supposed. It's good A point is, that I do not want to create all subfolders on a target disk, if there are no new files in them.     I am having a windows application interacting with DB2 database. In my application i have code to execute some DB2 commands through command line interface. I have used windowsAPI "ShellExecuteEx()" to execute those DB2 commands through command line. Following is the code written to execute DB2 command through command line. string command = "/c /w /i DB2 UNCATALOG NODE DB_DATABASE "" test.log | echo %date% %time% test.log SHELLEXECUTEINFO shellInfo; ZeroMemory(&shellInfo, sizeof(shellInfo)); shellInfo.cbSize = sizeof(shellInfo); shellInfo.fMask = SEE_MASK_FLAG_NO_UI | SEE_MASK_NOCLOSEPROCESS; //shellInfo.lpFile = "db2cmd"; shellInfo.lpFile = "db2cmd"; shellInfo.lpParameters = command.c_str(); The code is executed successfully , however if test.log is observered i only get result of DB2 command and not date and time. If you see the above command there is "|" pipe operator and echo command to log date and time in test.log Please note that if I execute above DB2 command through separately command line i.e. not through code. I am able to view date and time log along with DB2 command result in test.log. Following is the full command which i executed through command line. DB2CMD /c /i /w DB2 UNCATALOG NODE DB_DATABASE "" test.log | echo %date% %time% test.log According to me since DB2 command is executed successfully through code, there is problem with only usage of "|" pipe operator or echo command.

    Hi I'm trying to learn to rename files with the command line, and after browsing around a lot of pages I finally found a command that uppercases the first letter of a file, but the problem is that I want to understand the meaning of each command. The command is: for i in *; do new=echo "$i" | sed -e 's/^./\U&/'; mv "$i" "$new";done I understand the 'for' kinda... but not the 'echo' or '`' and especially the sed command. if someone has a little patience to explain the meaning of each thing that'd be awesome!     Hi everyone, I would like to know is there any way to determine if a cone is intersecting with a (finite)line segment. The cone actually a circle located at P(x,y) with theta degree field of view and radius r. The simple visualization can be found here (sorry i can't post the picture here) I'm trying to do it in C# but I don't have any idea how to that, so for now this is what I'm doing : Check if the line segment is intersecting with the circle If the line segment is intersecting with the circle then I check every single point in the line segment using a function I found here. But I don't think this is the best way to do it. Does anyone have an idea? For additional info, I need this function to make some kind of simple vision simulator. Thanks in advance :)

    I have a script that I need to run with PHP via cron. The original author of the script made a lot of user of certain $_SERVER parameters (like REQUEST_URI). But it appears that certain variables don't exist when running PHP via command line or via CRON. For example, there is no request uri, so it makes sense that the REQUEST_URI parameter wouldn't be available. Is there any way around this other than to completely rewrite the script in order to avoid using special $_SERVER parameters that aren't universally available?

I'm currently unencoding an RLE stream to an 8 bit-per-pixel buffer, then re-encoding to a 1 bit line, however, I would like to try and keep it all in the 1 bit space in an effort to increase its speed.   • Need help automating a task in Linux

    I'm still kind of new to Linux, but here's what I'm trying to do. I need to copy all subdirectories and files from one directory to another ever 5 minutes or so, with the old data automatically being overwritten with the new data. I'd also like this to run at startup. Is there any way this can be done? If so, what program would I need to schedule the automation and what is the command line I would need (cp ???). I have tried animate() and fadeTo(), however, the entire div fades. Do I need to absolute position my images over the div and not within it? img or img?
