• Using SEO to hide a website in a specific location?

  Hi everyone, A friend of mine wants to build a website, but doesn't want people in the West Midlands area of the UK to be able to see it, but wants areas outside of the West Midlands to be able to see it. Is this possible? I know SEO can be used to target specific countries to improve search results, but could it be used to target specific areas inside a country and to basically remove the website from Google listings for a specific area? On the machine where WebLogic AdminServer is set up (typically the Foundation Services machine), run \Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\common\bin\config (config.sh on Unix). Select the 'Extend an existing WebLogic domain' option, and click the 'Next' button. Select the domain being used by EPM System. - Typically, the default domain is created under /Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains and is named EPMSystem. - Click 'Next'. Under 'Extend my domain automatically to support the following added products' - place a check mark before 'Oracle Enterprise Manager - 11.1.1.0 [oracle_common]' to select it. - Continue accepting the defaults by clicking 'Next' on each page until - on the last page you click 'Extend'. - The system will grind for a few minutes while it configures (deploys?) EM. - Start the AdminServer. Sometimes there is contention in the startup order of the various servlets (resulting in some not coming up). • Why do my gvfs mounts not show up under ~/.gvfs?

  From what I read, when mounting a network share via nautilus or gvfs-mount the mount point should be in ~/.gvfs. This seems not to be the case for me: I tried mounting both an FTP and SMB share via both nautilus and gvfs-mount under both Ubuntu Maverick and Natty and in none of the cases did I see any mount point under ~/.gvfs. I can access the shares just find in nautilus, but I want to have access via the command line, which is why I need a mount point in the file system. Edit: Debugging following James Henstridge's answer and enzotib's comment revealed that on my laptop gvfs-fuse-daemon is running and consequently gvfs mounts show up in ~/.gvfs, whereas on the 2 workstations where ~/.gvfs remained empty gvfs-fuse-daemon was not running. On all 3 machines there are other gvfs processes running: gvfsd, gvfs-afc-volume-monitor, ... On the laptop, mount | fgrep gvfs yields gvfs-fuse-daemon on /home/xxx/.gvfs type fuse.gvfs-fuse-daemon (rw,nosuid,nodev,user=xxx) That raises the questions: How are shares mounted without gvfs-fuse-daemon running? Is there no mount point created in that case and is every access to the share a gvfs library call? Which daemon is responsible? gvfsd? What's the role of gvfs-fuse-daemon? Does it only create a fuse mount point in ~/.gvfs?

• How can a usb be detected but not show up anywhere?

  I started the morning by trying to create a bootable usb using a 2gb stick and the startup disk creator. It seemed to run through the whole process just fine until it got to a screen that read something like "Creating memory partion" and which sat on 100% for about 45 minutes before I hit cancel and removed the usb stick. Now the usb stick is not being detected as storage or...anything (even on my windows pc) though it does show up in the syslog. Allow me to demonstrate. • Routing tables don't show ppp0 after 12.04 kernel upgrade to 3.5.0: Haier CE682 modem configuration

  I'm trying to get my Haier CE682 EVDO modem, model number 201e:1022 to work in ubuntu 12.04 kernel 3.5.0-030500-generic #201207211835 . I then added the default routing as shown above with sudo route add default gw 192.168.3.1 wlan0 So it seems I need to add or change the routing to show a ppp0 connection, but I don't know how to do that.

• Hidden Launch Bar wouldn't slide-out when moused over, now it won't hide away.

  When the launch bar is hidden, I have trouble getting it to slide out when I move the mouse pointer to the left side. After adjusting the settings under Settings--Appearance--Behavior, the bar no longer hides when a browser is open. Is there a fix for this. This all happened when I was looking for a way to change the icon sizes in the launch bar. Documentation from Linux.com told me to do it under Settings--Appearance, but there was no way to do it. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

  I have a Ubuntu - Windows 7 dual-boot set-up, and I would like to have it that my laptop would boot up Windows 7 unless I press down the Shift key right after boot and bring up the Grub2 menu from which I can choose Ubuntu. I researched on Grub2 and options for etc/default/grub and I have tried playing around with combinations with the GRUB_TIMEOUT and GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT values, but to no avail. I tried setting the GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT higher than the GRUB_TIMEOUT thinking that both countdown start simultaneously, but no - GRUB_TIMEOUT only starts after the other is done. Is this behavior achievable? If so, how?

  I think the title is quite self-explaining, still this is a big area I think, so let me drop a few words: I've got a simple experiment game project going, and I want to make sure, that the user isn't messing with the game assets like player skin etc. In my opinion the best way would be that on production I would merge all the assets into one file and the application would check the hash of that file, so it could detect the corrupted data. • How to create a dynamically built Context Menu clickEvent

  C#, winform I have a DataGridView and a context menu that opens when you right click a specific column. What shows up in the context menu is dependant on what's in the field clicked on - paths to multiple files (the paths are manipulated to create a full UNC path to the correct file). The only problem is that I can't get the click working. I did not drag and drop the context menu from the toolbar, I created it programmically. I figured that if I can get the path (let's call it ContextMenuChosen) to show up in MessageBox.Show(ContextMenuChosen); I could set the same to System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(ContextMenuChosen); The Mydgv_MouseUp event below actually works to the point where I can get it to fire off MessageBox.Show("foo!"); when something in the context menu is selected but that's where it ends. I left in a bunch of comments below showing what I've tried when it one of the paths are clicked. Some result in empty strings, others error (Object not set to an instance...). I searched code all day yesterday but couldn't find another way to hook up a dynamically built Context Menu clickEvent. • How to show and hide preferences on Android dynamically?

  Is there a way to dynamically show and hide preferences? In my case, I have a checkbox preference that would disable or enable one of 2 preference groups ("with-" and "without-handicap" groups). While this would be the ideal GUI in a desktop environment, the "with-handicap" takes up nearly the whole screen, while the other, "without-handicap" takes up only a small portion of the screen. Rather than showing both groups at the same time, I'd like to show only one of them at a time, and dynamically show or hide the 2 groups when the checkbox changes. Is there a way to do this?

• Weird behaviour of jquery's hide/show with the 'slide' effect. How to change?

  When doing $('.mydiv').show('slide', {direction:up}, 1500); //syntax may be a little off jQuery seems to - just before starting the animation - make room for the soon to be showed div. This creates a non-smooth effect making all elements below the showed div shift away in one big go. I would like to see the elements below the div move away as the div is animated/showed. The jQuery native hide()/show() function works like this, how come the slide effect of hide/show doesn't? Anyone knows how to fix it?

• How to force a new Notification in notify-osd to show up without waiting for the earlier one to exit?

  I have made a script(and a .desktop shortcut leading to this script) for starting and stoping xampp... It checks the status of xampp and accordingly either starts or stops xampp. Now i have assigned a notification as soon as the script is started to display "Starting xampp..." or "Stopping xampp..." and then when xampp is started or stopped,it displays "Xampp started..." or "Xampp stopped..." I've used notify-send to show notification as seen in the script below Now the thing is that here,the second notification waits for the 1st one to disappear and then pops up even if xampp has started/stopped. I want the new notification to appear immediately by forcing the earlier one to exit before the completion of its life-cycle. This can be seen to take plce when you activate/deactivate wireless/networking immediately... For example the "Wireless enabled" comes up on selecting enable wireless and if you immediately select disable wireless,the "Wireless disabled" notification comes up without waiting for "Wireless enabled" notification to complete its life-cycle. • external USB HD doesn't show up on 'sudo fdisk -l' on one Ubuntu, shows up on another (both 'precise')

  I have a 1.5TB WD external USB HDD and two Ubuntu systems, both 'precise'. When I plug the disk on system A it doesn't show up on the output of sudo fdisk -l nor is it automatically mounted (note that that wasn't always the case - it used to appear in the past). When I plug it on system B (again Ubuntu precise) it shows up when I do a sudo fdisk -l (output appended at the end) and mounts automatically just fine. What does this discrepancy point to and what kind of diagnostics should I run / tools I should use to troubleshoot the problem? • Is there a program to show programs loading during the boot process in real time?

  Hi all, There are any number of programs that will show me WHAT will run during the boot process for Windows XP. I've always been partial to Mike Lin's version but there are several others, some of which are quite possibly superior. That's not the issue. What I'd really like is a program that would load first and then would list the programs that were about to load and then check them off as the programs loaded. This isn't something I necessarily need for myself. But certain family members get click happy as soon as they see the icon they eventually want to run and end up clicking on it. THIRTY TWO TIMES in one memorable crash-inducing spasm. If there was some way for 'progress' to be shown during the loading of from the various spots Windows auto-loads from, PLUS a BIG BANNER saying "Please do not move the mouse or click on anything until done.", I think I might cut down on my early morning family support calls significantly. I've tried a variety of searches, but I couldn't find the ones that show in real time in the forest of links to programs that will show the list after the fact. Any leads? If not, do any of you who write the after-the-fact listers want to take a shot at producing a utility to do what I think would be a relatively popular utility? • How to always show titles on Windows 7 Taskbar thumbail preview?

  I often use the Win+n shortcuts to 'alt-tab' between windows of pinned application (i.e. Win+2 to basically 'alt-tab' multiple putty windows, where putty is pinned as app #2 on the taskbar). The Win+n always pops up the thumbnail previews of all the windows, but sometimes it shows window titles above the thumbnail, sometimes it doesn't. Is there any way to always show the titles (i.e. registry setting?)? For putty sessions this would be especially nice, as the title contains the hostname, and the thumbnail is too small to determine what host that window is for. I've noticed that the titles usually show up with there are more than ~4-6 windows of that pinned item open - but the number seems to vary - is there a threshold setting for this? Update: So I just noticed the titles show up whenever the taskbar buttons combine, which varies based on how many windows from other apps are open... So I'm now looking for a way to combine buttons (but I'd like to keep labels, so the options in the 'Taskbar and Start Menu Properties' are close, but probably finding the registry settings behind should do it.

• UISplitViewController. Can we hide/show the master view?

  I would like to use a UISplitViewController in a slightly different way then is common. Because my iPad app is fullscreen app I would like the ability to hide/show the master view when in landscape mode. Portrait view is not an issue since the master view transforms into a popover which can be hidden via the toolbar button. Is there a method on UISplitViewController that will nicely hide the master view and expand the detail view? Any insight would be most appreciated. Cheers. Thanks, Doug

Javascript is currently reporting that: '$.listHidden[...] is null or not an object'. It's an error that appears in IE. I found this code on the internet somewhere. Is there a way to fix it, or should I look for something else? Thanks

  I'm a noob with jQuery...and I hope I've explained this well enough; I have a <ul> header that appears when I've added an entry to a dynamically created list using $.post. Each entry added has a delete/edit button associated with it. I've read up on conditional statements like is and not with jq but I'm not really understanding how they work. All of the items in class="addedItems" is stored in data produced by JSON.   I have a Drupal (v6.17) Content Type which includes a Taxonomy field. I want to hide this from ordinary Authenticated Users, but want it available to my Site Contributor role users, so they can review and then assign tags to user-created nodes. I've tried overriding the Node Add/Edit form in Panels 3 by creating a panel variant especially for Authenticated Users, which would exclude the Taxonomy field. However, the Taxonomy field is bundled in with the "General Form" controls - without showing this, I don't get the Title and Body fields. Is there a way I can either include the Title and Body fields without Taxonomy, OR hide just the Taxonomy field when the authenticated user role creates a node. I realise there's a CCK field which might be able to help me out here, but how do I tie that to the Taxonomy module? Any help gratefully received.

  Hello everybody, I want to generate html layout with areas (divs, spans) that can be shown/hidden conditionally. These areas are hidden by default. If I call .hide method with jquery on document.ready these areas may blink (browsers render partially loaded documents). So I apply "display: none" style in html layout. I wonder what is the best practice to avoid blinking, because applying "display:none" breaks incapsulation rule - I know what jquery does with hide/show and use it. If jquery's hiding/showing implementation will change one day, I'll get the whole site unworkable. Thank you in advance
