Basically I have 16 grids with 4 rows and 4 columns, each grid is added a round button. how to determine which rows and columns the selected round buttons are located respectively in the below MouseEventHandler of mouseover? For mouseclick, there is only round button selected, but for mouseover, there would be a collection of buttons.     Quick question: You are building a setup for your application. The application contains a custom control developed by you, which will be shared across multiple applications. How should you package the custom control? Package the control in a Merge Module (.msm) and add the .msm file to a Windows Installer project. Package the control into a cabinet project (.cab) and add the .cab file to a Windows Installer project. Create a separate directory for the control and then package it in a Windows Installer project along with the rest of the project files. Package the control as a Web setup project and create a link to that project from the Windows Installer project. Any ideas?

    Hi, I followed this article and it works great except when paging or sorting the HeaderCheckBox is still checked. How and where should this be unchecked?     I am trying to create a custom command button that defaults width and height to specific settings. I have the following code: public partial class myCommandButton : Button { public magCommandButton() { InitializeComponent(); } [DefaultValue(840)] public override int Width { get { return base.Width; } set { base.Width = value; } } [DefaultValue(340)] public override int Height { get { return base.Height; } set { base.Height = value; } } protected override void OnPaint(PaintEventArgs pe) { base.OnPaint(pe); } } However, it won't compile because it tells me that I can not override Width or Height. Can anyone tell me if I'm approaching this wrongly, or if there's a way around this?

    Hello, I want to create an custom control (descendant of TRichEdit). I simply want add some text above the editfield. I've created my own control and I override the constructor to create a TLabel for the caption. It works, but my problem: How is it possible to move the label above the richedit? When I set Top := -5 the label begins to disappaer. Here's the code of the constructor: constructor TDBRichEditExt.Create(AOwner: TComponent); begin inherited; lblCaption := TLabel.Create(self); lblCaption.Parent := parent; lblCaption.Caption := 'Header'; lblCaption.Top := -5; end; I think it's logic that the label disappaers since the richedit is the parent. I've tried lblCaption.Parent := self.parent; To make the form which owns the richedit the parent - but this dosn't work... How could I achieve this? Thank you all!

My control is opened up by the click event of another button. like this (works fine): void CProducerDlg::OnSelect() { ... m_wndDatePicker.SetValue(varVariant); // hide date combo box if first entry has been chosen m_wndDate.ShowWindow(SW_HIDE); // show date picker if first entry is chosen m_wndDatePicker.ShowWindow(SW_SHOW); // open up calendar view [tbd] ... } What I need is the calendar view to open up expanded (showing the complete month).     When you add a label to the form from the toolbox, its text defaults to the item's name (label1, label2, etc). How can I make this happen with a custom control? So far, I have the following, which allows me to change the text through the property window: private string _text; [BrowsableAttribute(true)] public override string Text { get { return _text; } set { _text = value; lblID.Text = _text; } } Apparently the above code works as is, but I'm not sure why. Does Text default to the object's name automatically? The question still stands for other properties which don't override Text.

Focus means I couldn't navigate through keyboard into it...     Hello all, I created a simple custom control that only inherits from the Literal control, and doesn't have any extensions yet, code is empty. Namespace: CustomControls Class name: Literal : System.Web.UI.WebControls.Literal Next thing I do is registering this control in the aspx page as following: <%@ Register TagPrefix="web" Namespace="CustomControls" % (I read in few tutorials that this is one of the ways to register it, besides web.config etc.) After all, no intellisence for me, and worse- I get a parse error 'unknown server tag: web' when I try to run the page with the control in it. I used 'create new project' and not new website, in case this info is needed. What could be my problem? Thanks in advance.

Inside this view control is an image and some text.   • How can data templates in generic.xaml get applied automatically?

    I have a custom control that has a ContentPresenter that will have an arbitrary object set as it content. This object does not have any constraint on its type, so I want this control to display its content based on any data templates defined by application or by data templates defined in Generic.xaml. If in a application I define some data template(without a key because I want it to be applied automatically to objects of that type) and I use the custom control bound to an object of that type, the data template gets applied automatically. But I have some data templates defined for some types in the generic.xaml where I define the custom control style, and these templates are not getting applied automatically. Here is the generic.xaml : If I set an object of type 'PredefinedType' as the content in the contentpresenter, the data template does not get applied. However, If it works if I define the data template in the app.xaml for the application thats using the custom control. Does someone got a clue? I really cant assume that the user of the control will define this data template, so I need some way to tie it up with the custom control.
