  I've got these problems: 1) sometimes winlogon.exe crashes at boot-up and my whole computer shuts off once i click "no" to visual-studio-2008 just-in-time-debugger window, takes about 30 secs until my harddrives starts up again, its really scary, i am afraid it is causing hardware malfunctions in long term. this has happened dozen of time now. 2) sometimes i leave the computer alone a while, i come back and i notice ctrl+alt+del doesnt work and winlogon.exe is using 100% of one of my 4 cores.

  I use Opera and have a setup with two monitors. If I want to open a new URL opera -newwindow URL. The outcome differs, if I execute this command in a program on the same screen where Opera is, or on the other. On the same screen everything is fine. I get the message opera: Activated running instance and the new window with the URL is opened. On the other screen, I get a dialog with the following message: It appears another opera instance is using the same configuration directory because its lock file is active: /home/(my name)/.opera/lock and the URL is not shown. That's not only from console, also if I click a link in E-Mail or so. How can I fix this? Window-manager is awesome, if it does make a difference.

I try to connect to the mongos instance and while rockmongo connects I get an error when trying to list the dbs: Execute failed:not master function (){ return db.getCollectionNames(); } This has something to do with the replica sets and everybody points to: $MONGO["servers"][$i] = array("replicaSet" => "xxxxx"); This is all fine, but I have two replicasets and as far as I understand I should connect to the mongos instance and not directly to the members of the set. So how does one use rockmongo to connect to a mongo sharded setup with replicasets?

At this point in time I have an external DNS setup (DynDNS 29.95 service) to resolve foo.com to my singular public IP address then it gets routed to external facing site. I would like to know how to setup POP on mail.foo.com and SMTP on smtp.foo.com, and more importantly, what needs to be setup in Exchange server to allow for this to happen. My end state is to send email through smtp.foo.com and receive mail on mail.foo.com. As of now, when I create a user within Exchange the default email address is [email protected], and I would like it to be [email protected]. Thank you and I appreciate the help as I am a .NET developer trying to do sys admin work, and it is MUCH harder than I have ever imagined, my hat is off to all sys admins and IT pros.

• Error while dynamically loading mapi32.dll

  Our application uses Simple MAPI to send e-mails. One of our clients has problems sending e-mail from a session on his terminal server. The mapi32.dll is loaded with a call to LoadLibrary which succeeds, but then our application tries to get the addresses of the functions MAPILogon, MAPILogOff, MAPISendMail, MAPIFreeBuffer and MAPIResolveName. The problem is that GetProcAddress fails for those functions with an ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED (code: 5) except for MAPIFreeBuffer. It looks like some sort of security thing. How can I fix this or should I use another method to send mail?   When I run my Win32 project in the Visual Studio debugger, I get this huge screed of output about which DLLs were loaded, first-chance exceptions, and so on. Is there a way that I can suppress this output? Some day, I might want to know when 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll' was loaded, but normally I don't care. This is especially true when I'm running unit tests, and just want to be told whether any of the tests failed. This stuff isn't output with console applications, but it is with windows applications. To give an example of what I mean, here are the first lines from the output of a recent unit-test run. 'MyProject.exe': Loaded 'C:\dev\MyProject\Testing\MyProject.exe', Symbols loaded. • Ubuntu Preseed set Norwegian Keyboard?

  It's been a couple of days now that I am trying to make a fully automated unattended installation. I managed to make it work with Ubuntu/Cobbler and a preseed file, but I cannot set the correct keyboard layout which is Norwegian in this case. I am doing the tests on a virtual machine and when I am going with a normal manual installation (no preseed) everything is working fine. When I am using the preseed file, I always end up with an "English (US)" keyboard no matter the many different options I have tried. I can change it manually with the "dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration" command, but that's not the case. It should be handled automatically using the preseed file. I am using DEBCONF_DEBUG=5 when the grub is loading, and as I see in "/var/log/installer/syslog" file after the installation has finished, the preseeding commands are accepted. Can anyone help on this?   Direct Question: I want to enable Perl to send emails. What package(s) should I install to setup a simplistic email server: no need for incoming, only outgoing. I can forward through gmail's SMTP if that's best? Background: I am programmer with a nightly build script written in Perl. I would like to email myself the results of my nightly builds (especially if there's an error). I've read about the perl package Mail::Sendmail briefly, but if something else is more appropriate, please tell me!! I tried the simple aptget install sendmail, but that doesn't seem to work. In other words, I would be most grateful if you could provide simple instructions for setting up an outgoing mail server. I really don't understand the specifics, but as I understand, I need to forward the mail through an existing SMTP server -- so I can use my gmail account if need be (that's where I want to send the logs anyway). Any suggestions would be most greatly appreciated.
