  • UIWebView Loading content properly on iOS 6 simulator but not on device?

    - by David Hegner
    I have encountered a weird bug with a released app. My UIWebView is no longer loading content on iOS 6, yet the content still displays in the simulator. The activity indicator displays properly but then it loads a blank url? Again, this only happens on a device, not on the simulator. To provide extra context (in the simulator the NSURLRequest is assigned the proper URL. When run on a device the value is nil.) Here is my code : -(void)loading { if(!self.webView.loading) [self.activityIndicator stopAnimating]; else { [self.activityIndicator startAnimating]; } } - (void)viewDidLoad { [self.webView addSubview:self.activityIndicator]; NSURLRequest *requestUrl = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:self.url]; [self.webView loadRequest:requestUrl]; self.timer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:(1.0/2.0) target:self selector:@selector(loading) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; [super viewDidLoad]; NSLog(@"%@", requestUrl); }

  • jQuery multiple if else Statements

    - by Chris MMgr
    I have a set of images that I am trying to activate (change opacity) based on the position of a user's window. The below code works, but only through a long series of if else statements. Is there a way to shorten the below code? //Function to activate and deactivate the buttons on the side menu function navIndicator() { var winNow = $(window).scrollTop(); var posRoi = $('#roi').offset(); var posRoiNow = posRoi.top; //Activate the propper button corresponding to what section the user is viewing if (winNow == posRoiNow * 0) { $('#homeBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 1 } { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#homeBut').addClass("viewing") } else { $('#homeBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 0 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#homeBut').removeClass("viewing") } if (winNow == posRoiNow) { $('#roiBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 1 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#roiBut').addClass("viewing") } else { $('#roiBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 0 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#roiBut').removeClass("viewing") } if (winNow == posRoiNow * 2) { $('#dmsBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 1 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#dmsBut').addClass("viewing") } else { $('#dmsBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 0 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#dmsBut').removeClass("viewing") } if (winNow == posRoiNow * 3) { $('#techBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 1 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#techBut').addClass("viewing") } else { $('#techBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 0 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#techBut').removeClass("viewing") } if (winNow == posRoiNow * 4) { $('#impBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 1 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#impBut').addClass("viewing") } else { $('#impBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 0 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#impBut').removeClass("viewing") } if (winNow == posRoiNow * 5) { $('#virBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 1 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#virBut').addClass("viewing") } else { $('#virBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 0 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#virBut').removeClass("viewing") } if (winNow == posRoiNow * 6) { $('#biBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 1 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#biBut').addClass("viewing") } else { $('#biBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 0 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#biBut').removeClass("viewing") } if (winNow == posRoiNow * 7) { $('#contBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 1 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#contBut').addClass("viewing") } else { $('#contBut a img.active').stop().animate({ opacity: 0 }, { queue: false, duration: 300, easing: "easeOutExpo" }); $('#contBut').removeClass("viewing") } };

  • What are the differences in performance between synchronous and asynchronous JavaScript script loading?

    - by jasdeepkhalsa
My question is simply: what are the differences in performance between synchronous and asynchronous JavaScript script loading? From what I've gathered synchronous code blocks the loading of a page and/or rest of the code from executing. This happens at two levels. First, at the level of the script actually loading, and secondly, within the JavaScript code itself. For example, on the page: Synchronous: <script src="demo_async.js" type="text/javascript"></script> Asynchronous: <script async src="demo_async.js" type="text/javascript"></script> And within a script: Synchronous: function a() {alert("a"); function b() {alert("b");}} Asynchronous (and self-executing): (function(a, function(b){ alert(b); }) { alert(a); }))(); So what really is the difference in performance from using these different loading methods and JavaScript patterns?

  • Is it considered poor programming to do this with xna components?

    - by Rob
I created my own Menu System that is event driven. In order to have a loading screen and multithreaded loading to work, I devised this sort of implementation: //Let's check if the game is done loading. if (_game != null) { _gameLoaded = _game.DoneLoading; } //This means the game is loading still, //therefore the loading screen should be active. if (!_gameLoaded && _gameActive) { _gameScreenList[2].UpdateMenu(); } //The loading screen was selected. if (_gameScreenList[2].CurrentState == GameScreen.State.Shown && !_gameActive) { Components.Add(_game = new ParadoxGame(this)); _game.Initialize(); //Initializes the Game so that the loading can begin. _gameActive = true; } In the XNA Game Component that contains the actual game, in the LoadContent method I simply created a new Thread that calls another method ThreadLoad that has all the actual loading. I also have a boolean variable called DoneLoading in the XNA Game Component that is set to true at the end of the ThreadLoad. I am wondering if this is a poor implementation.

  • DLL Config in Mono

    - by nubela
Hi, I'm trying to pick up Svn.NET (http://www.pumacode.org/projects/svndotnet/) library for use in my Mono project. I tried compiling its mockapp - svnmockapp project (http://www.pumacode.org/projects/svndotnet/browser/trunk/SvnMockApp) , I am able to get the references right and get it compiled right. I understand that it references 2 other modules libapr (libapr-1.so.0) and svn_client (libsvn_client-1.so.0) , by which I've created PumaCode.SvnDotNet.dll.config in /bin/Debug . That is all I've done to tried to try to get the mockapp at least outputting something to show that it is indeed interfacing SVN. Nevertheless, it is not working. Commands that are entered that doesn't interface SVN works fine: $ mono SvnTest.exe -usage Usage: SvnTest <subcommand> [options] Short Options: ~?.V Subcommands: add, checkout[co], status[st], update[up] For help on subcommands, use the -?/--help subcommand option. Commands that tries to access SVN throws an exception: $ mono SvnTest.exe st An exception was thrown by the type initializer for PumaCode.SvnDotNet.AprSharp.Apr Unhandled Exception: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at PumaCode.SvnDotNet.SubversionSharp.SvnMockApp.CmdBase.Run (PumaCode.SvnDotNet.SubversionSharp.SvnMockApp.SubCommand sc, System.String[] args) [0x00000] at (wrapper managed-to-native) System.Reflection.MonoMethod:InternalInvoke (object, object[],System.Exception&) at System.Reflection.MonoMethod.Invoke (System.Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, System.Reflection.Binder binder, System.Object[] parameters, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) [0x00000] --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Reflection.MonoMethod.Invoke (System.Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, System.Reflection.Binder binder, System.Object[] parameters, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture) [0x00000] at System.Reflection.MethodBase.Invoke (System.Object obj, System.Object[] parameters) [0x00000] at PumaCode.SvnDotNet.SubversionSharp.SvnMockApp.Application.Run (System.String[] args) [0x00000] at PumaCode.SvnDotNet.SubversionSharp.SvnMockApp.Application.Main (System.String[] args) [0x00000] Using MONO_DEBUG_LEVEL="debug", we get the following log pasted here. • How do I stop icons appearing on the desktop in a particular area?

    - by Seamus
When I download something to my desktop, or insert a CD or flash drive, the icon appears on my desktop. When I have conky running, the icon sometimes appears in the top right corner, underneath conky; where I can't see it. How do I stop this happening? My .conkyrc is pasted below. What I really want is to stop icons even appearing in that part of the desktop window: that is, I want to make part of the desktop real estate "off-limits" to new icons appearing on the desktop.

  • in iOS7 how do you stop the First viewcontroller autorotating?

    - by uaka
I have an app that just needs one screen to autorotate, the first and last screens should be portrait. I can get the last screen to stop rotating using: -(NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations { return UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortrait; } But this does not work on the first screen, I am using a storyboard with a UINavigationController (I'm thinking that may have something to do with it?) Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks

  • How can I stop the kde-telepathy UI from appearing under Unity when I use the messaging menu?

    - by RolandiXor - The Ice Man
KDE Telepathy keeps getting in the way every time I try to use Empathy from the messaging menu. If I get a message, it opens in the KDE telepathy UI instead of in Empathy. This is rather frustrating as it causes a delay before it opens, and is not integrated with Empathy. How can I stop this from happening? This still happens in 12.10 and I've had to remove the kde-telepathy packages. Is there a solution?

  • How do I stop unity launcher icon from shaking wobbling, jumping, bouncing, running, and cavorting?

    - by ssu
When I'm focused and working on something, sometimes an app (like update manager) will decide that it is more important than I am, and start jumping and bouncing and wobbling and waving and generally cavorting around like a spoiled, misbehaving 3-year-old. In general, being very annoying. How do I stop this behavior? I'll get to an app when I get to it - it shouldn't be so needy. I need to work, not spend all day at the service of whatever application pops up.

  • How to stop a infinite running process(ztail) started by a ssh session after that session is closed

    - by Sanath Adiga
I have a peculiar problem. My server supports multiple ssh session simultaneously, so that multiple admins can manage it simultaneously. We have a command which calls ztail to show the compressed log files and when the current ssh session is closed (without pressing ctrlc, to stop the tail command), the command should ideally stop working. But what I observed when I start a new ssh session is that the process ztail is still running in the background and consuming CPU, even though the previous session was closed. How can I determine when the session is closed, so that I can use that variable/flag to close/stop any commands initiated by that previously closed session?

  • What can cause SQL 2008 Transaction Log Shipping to stop functioning?

    - by Rick
I read somewhere that doing a backup or when Maintenance Plan runs can cause Log Shipping to stop functioning. Is this true? What should we watch out for once our Transaction Log Shipping is in place that could stop it? A Log Shipping test we were doing between two databases on the same SQL 2008 server appeared to stop working without any error. When we checked the History of the LSRestore_* job it was always ignoring the new *.trn files. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • How to allow password protected start-stop-daemon functionality?

    - by Mahmoud Abdelkader
I would like to use Ubuntu's start-stop-daemon to start my application, but the application protects some sensitive information, so I have a mechanism where the application prompts for a password that's then used to generate a hashkey, which is used as the secret key for a symmetric encryption (AES) to encrypt and decrypt things from a database. I'd like to daemonize this application and have it run from start-stop-daemon, so that sudo service appname stop and sudo service appname start would work, but, I'm not sure how to go about doing this with the added complexity of a password prompt. Is there something that supports this or do I have to program it from scratch? I figured I should ask first before re-inventing the wheel. Thanks in advance.

  • "Loading operating system... boot error" when booting from live CD

    - by jeremy
I'm having a problem installing Ubuntu 12.10 on a new drive. I was running Windows7 on my SSD but when the drive crashed, I decided to use that as an excuse to make the switch to Ubuntu. I've been experimenting with it on my old laptop until I got my SSD replaced under warranty. Now I have my SSD back and want to install Ubuntu on my desktop machine. I used UNetbootin to make a bootable flash drive. I then I went into my BIOS and made sure USB loaded before the hard drive. However, when I try to load it I get an error that says: Loading operating system ... boot error I know the flash drive works because if I reboot my laptop or my other Windows PC with the flash drive and it loads into Ubuntu...just when I try to do it in the PC with no OS currently on the drive.

  • Are there any adverse side effects to loading html5shiv in every browser?

    - by Jeff
On the html5shiv Google Code page the example usage includes an IE conditional: <!--[if lt IE 9]> <script src="dist/html5shiv.js"></script> <![endif]--> However on the html5shiv github page, the description explains: This script is the defacto way to enable use of HTML5 sectioning elements in legacy Internet Explorer, as well as default HTML5 styling in Internet Explorer 6 - 9, Safari 4.x (and iPhone 3.x), and Firefox 3.x. An obvious contradiction. So to satisfy my curiosity, for anyone who has studied the code, are there any adverse side affects to loading html5shiv in every browser (without the IE conditional)? EDIT: My goal, obviously, is to use the shiv without the IE conditional.

  • cherrypy fails to stop when puppet tries to ensure running and refresh it at the same time

    - by ento
I am trying to manage a cherrypy service with puppet. However, when the configuration is applied, cherryd ends up with no PID file although the process is up and running. Since the PID file is lost I can no longer stop the process with /etc/init.d/mycherryd stop (unless I modify the handmade init script to lookup the PID with ps or something.) $ /etc/init.d/mycherryd status cherryd dead but subsys locked The problem seems to be that puppet is trying to refresh/restart cherryd (triggered by changes in configuration files) immediately after ensuring it's running (as specified in the manifest), and cherrypy fails to stop and start (restart) itself while still executing its startup process. Is there a clear cut solution to this problem? Is this a bug on the cherrypy side, or can I write a puppet manifest so refresh is called only after the service is up and running? Any suggestion welcome. cherrypy log See how cherrypy catches SIGTERM midway through startup and still starts to listen. :cherrypy.error[18666] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,551 INFO: ENGINE Listening for SIGHUP. :cherrypy.error[18666] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,552 INFO: ENGINE Listening for SIGTERM. :cherrypy.error[18666] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,552 INFO: ENGINE Listening for SIGUSR1. :cherrypy.error[18666] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,552 INFO: ENGINE Bus STARTING :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,554 INFO: ENGINE Daemonized to PID: 18671 :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,554 INFO: ENGINE PID 18671 written to '/var/mycherryd/cherry.pid'. :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,555 INFO: ENGINE Started monitor thread '_TimeoutMonitor'. :cherrypy.error[18670] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,556 INFO: ENGINE Forking twice. :cherrypy.error[18666] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,557 INFO: ENGINE Forking once. :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,716 INFO: ENGINE Caught signal SIGTERM. :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,716 INFO: ENGINE Bus STOPPING :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,716 INFO: ENGINE HTTP Server cherrypy._cpwsgi_server.CPWSGIServer(('0.0.0.0', 12380)) already shut down :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,717 INFO: ENGINE Stopped thread '_TimeoutMonitor'. :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,717 INFO: ENGINE Bus STOPPED :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,732 INFO: ENGINE Bus EXITING :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,759 INFO: ENGINE PID file removed: '/var/mycherryd/cherry.pid'. :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,782 INFO: ENGINE Bus EXITED :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,792 INFO: ENGINE Serving on 0.0.0.0:12380 :cherrypy.error[18671] 2010-02-12 13:10:23,826 INFO: ENGINE Bus STARTED puppet log puppet tries to refresh the service immediately after ensuring it to be 'running'. • cherrypy fails to stop when puppet tries to ensure running and refresh it at the same time

• RevoluteJoint Stop Rotating when Some Physics Body Collide in Andengine + Box2d?

    - by Nikhil Lamba
I am making a Game from andengine + box2d in Which i am using RevoluteJoint in that case i am facing some problem that when physics body or Sprite Collide with this Revolute joint body then Revolute body stop rotating then after some time it start rotating I am using below code for this : this.mPhysicsWorld.registerPhysicsConnector(new PhysicsConnector(movingFace, movingBody, true, true)); final RevoluteJointDef revoluteJointDef = new RevoluteJointDef(); revoluteJointDef.initialize(anchorBody, movingBody, anchorBody.getWorldCenter()); revoluteJointDef.enableMotor = true; revoluteJointDef.motorSpeed = 100; revoluteJointDef.maxMotorTorque = 200; this.mPhysicsWorld.createJoint(revoluteJointDef); EDIT Here is a screenshot:

  • How to tell thunar to stop using my device?

    - by Guillaume Coté
When I do sudo umount /media/KINGSTON I got umount: /media/KINGSTON: device is busy. By using fuser -c /media/KINGSTON And cat /proc/<pid>/cmdline I found that the process is thunar--deamon. I closed all file manager windows. When I try to umount it by right cliking on the desktop, it also gave an error : An application is preventing the volume "KINGSTON" from being unmounted I am affraid that killing Thunar is going to impact other process running in other terminal. How can I tell it that I don't need this usb key anymore so it stop using it?
