    When I click on a photo in Vista I get a fix button: When I click on a photo in Windows 7 I don't get a fix button: I used to use this fix button often to fix red-eye and alter the brightness quickly, and the auto-saving was so fast. If I can't get "Windows Photo Viewer" to do this, I'll have to http://www.irfanview.com again to do this.

Edit: On Win8 Aero was removed but the taskbar is transparent (the desktop background picture is slightly visible 'behind' the taskbar). When I'm using the taskbar to switch programs I don't like seeing artifacts 'bleeding-through', I find it distracting.

  • DVD Drive Failing on Windows 7

    Hello, I have x64 Windows 7 running on an ASUS M50VM. The DVD drive works completely unreliably if not at all. But the story is not that simple so bear with me...here are the gory details. When I first got the machine it came with Windows XP and I upgraded it to Windows Vista X64 and the DVD worked fine. When Windows 7 RC2 came out I tried it on a Virtual Machine and I liked it so much that I upgraded the machine to Win7 RC1. The DVD worked fine. Of course, RC1 was going to start spontaneously rebooting, so when Windows 7 was released I DID A CLEAN INSTALL of Windows 7. Just to clarify...by clean install I mean I did a FORMAT of the HARD DRIVE and INSTALLED it from scratch. EVER since then the DVD mostly doesn't work. I can sometime read from disk but that will often hang. (Please see my description below of HANG for details.) CD or DVD writes ALWAYS fail with a HANG (I have done a successful write only one time.) Here is what I mean by HANG... *Explorer Window is unresponsive. *Any software accessing the DVD drive is unresponsive. *The DVD tray will not eject. *Using a paper clip will eject but the disk is usually spinning real hard. *Attempting to shut down windows will fail. I have waited as long as ten minutes but the whole OS seems to hang. I do a hard shutdown. *Sometimes accessing the DVD (when it does not cause a HANG) will still fail and the device will actually seem to disappear from the system until I reboot. A couple of other things. It is NOT a hardware failure. It is the Windows OS. I know this because I swapped out my DVD drive with a friend with the same model...his machine is fine (he is still running Vista X64) and my machine still fails. For what it is worth. I swapped out my primary disk with the INTEL 160GB SSD. EDIT Here is what System Information shows about my DVD drive Drive D: Description CD-ROM Drive Media Loaded No Media Type DVD Writer Name HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50N ATA Device Manufacturer (Standard CD-ROM drives) Status OK Transfer Rate -1.00 kbytes/sec SCSI Target ID 0 PNP Device ID IDE\CDROMHL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GSA-T50N________________RR04____\5&2B5B7F1D&0&1.0.0 Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\cdrom.sys (6.1.7600.16385, 144.00 KB (147,456 bytes), 7/13/2009 7:19 PM) Any ideas?     My landlord would like to print to her printer connected to her Mac from Windows machines in her house. (I'm unsure of what versions of windows, but I assume Vista or 7.) Looking at these docs from Apple, it sounds like I can set up the share via Bonjour for Windows or SMB. What are the pros and cons of doing it one way or the other? Has anybody who has tried both found one more reliable than the other, or is it pretty much a tossup?

I've installed Windows 7 RTM (x64) I have this audio device: SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio I have tried using the windows 7 basic driver, and also the Vista 64-bit driver from Dell's website (details): Date: 10/29/2007 Version: 6.10.0.5511, A04 File Size: 7 MB With both drivers, I get normal stereo sound from the driver, but my 5.1 surround sound doesn't work. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix?

But I can't do that in Foxit Reader (version 3.1.4.1125, using Windows Vista Home, Chinese Traditional) Example: I open 3 files: Page2.pdf Page3.pdf Page1.pdf which opens Foxit Reader with a tab for each file, in the order Page2.pdf Page3.pdf Page1.pdf Is there a way to change the order of the tabs to Page1.pdf Page2.pdf Page3.pdf ? With some themes it is (visually) obvious, but with some others not (especially not when using remote access like VNC). Is there some dialog where I can see that AERO / DWM is enabled / disabled?

  • Synergy reports connected but mouse doesn't hop between screens

    I'm using synergy between two windows computers (Windows 7 32-bit, acting as the server part, and Windows XP 32-bit, as a client). I'm running the server part as admin, as suggested in some posts when running synergy in Vista/7, and I think it's properly configured in the server part: It reports on both sides that the connection has succesfully been established, but there's no way to move the mouse from one screen to the other (neither from server2client, nor client2server). Any ideas?

    I saw some answers to this question however they were fairly old (at least 2 years) and primarily for Vista or previous Windows OS versions. My question is this: Is there a program that allows a single Windows 7 computer to have multiple users (2 needed) and allow for two mice and two keyboards on two screens.
