• Browse asp.net development server from usb attached itouch

  I can browse using the desktop browsers via ..localhost:54647/... and from windows mobile emulators via my gateway ..//192.168.0.199:54647/..., but neither method works from either my Android emulator or from a usb attached itouch. I know I may have to run IIS locally but it's more convenient to run the development server from Visual Studio 2008. I'm running Vista with latest service packs. I'm developing a mobile app using ASP.Net MVC. Thanks!

  Hi, Does anyone know of a way to obtain the phone service state (IN_SERVICE, OUT_OF_SERVICE, EMERGENCY_ONLY, POWER_OFF) in android. I was hoping there would be a broadcastreciever to identify the changes, but I can't find anything. I know there's a listener but I'm not sure how I would use that from my app as it runs as a service using a WakefulIntentService (by thecommonsguy). With something like battery level (ie BATTERY_LOW, BATTERY_OKAY) it's quite easy, but I just can't work out a similar things for phone service changes.

  I heard that using shorts on 32bit system is just more inefficient than using ints. Is this the same for ints on a 64bit system? Python recently(?) basically merged ints with long and has basically a single datatype long, right? If you are sure that your app. will only run on 64bit then, is it even conceivable (potentially a good idea) to use long for everything in Java?

  I recently got my first app to work in uWSGI with Cherokee. I used the following code taken from the uWSGI docs: def application(environ, start_response): start_response('200 OK', [('Content-Type', 'text/plain')]) yield 'Hello World\n' The page correctly reads Hello World.   I note the release a few days ago of the static library bringing fragments to Android versions prior to 3.0, but does this library include the ActionBar? I suspect not. I assume that for an app that will work on pre-3.0 versions, that it needs a hand-built ActionBar implementation for versions up to 2.3 and then to use the OS default ActionBar in v3.0? for some reason I assumed the library had ActionBar in it, but as I dig further I'm not finding any evidence of its presence.

  I am planning to use py2exe to make an application developped with Python 2.6. It seems that my app need the VC redistribuables : http://www.py2exe.org/index.cgi/Tutorial#Step5 I've read this tutorial and the redistribuables license agreement and I am not sure if I can freely redistribute these files with my program. (I don't have VS2008 license) Can I bundle the redistribs into an installer and make the installation transparent for the user or do they have to download the files by their own from Microsoft website?
