  • RAD - Websphere Application server won't start

    - by Caroline
I am having issues with RAD7. My server will not start for me today. I am working from home and connected to the VPN. Everything works except my server in RAD. It worked fine yesterday in work and had previously worked when I was at home but that was a few weeks ago. Are there any settings that I should look out for? I have disabled my proxy settings in RAD and turned off everything in my firewall. I can ping all the DBs that the server is connecting to. I have even removed all the projects from the server and it will still not start. It keeps trying and then times out after 300s. Any suggestions?

  • StreamTokenizer Iterator Adapter help

    - by alpdog14
I have this StreamTokenizer Iterator Adapter that is suppose to create a Tokenizer Iterator Index Builder then build the index from a STIA wrapped around a StreamTokenizer. I am having trouble implementing the hasNext and Next for my STIA, can anyone help me, here is my class: public class StreamTokenizerIteratorAdapter implements Iterator<Token> { DefaultIndexImpl index; StreamTokenizer source; public StreamTokenizerIteratorAdapter(final StreamTokenizer source) { if (source == null) throw new IllegalArgumentException("source == null"); } @Override public boolean hasNext() { return !index.isEmpty(); } public Token next() { if(!index.isEmpty()) return next(); else return null; } @Override public void remove() { throw new UnsupportedOperationException(); } } Should I be using the source element in the hasNext() and next()?

  • Spring MVC: easiest way to see incoming requests

    - by flybywire
I am debugging a Spring MVC (3.0) app, deployed on tomcat. I want to see in my console or log files all the incoming requests. Including 404s, both generated by my app or by spring because it didn't find an appropriate controller. I'd like to see something like this: GET /index.html GET /img/logo.png GET /js/a.js GET /style/b.css POST /ajax/dothis?blah=yes POST /ajax/dothat?foo=np GET /nextpage.html ... What is the easiest way to see that.

  • FacesMessages and rich:effect?

    - by user331747
I'd like to be able to make an Ajax call using JSF/Seam/RichFaces and have the page update with the relevant h:messages component. That works with no problem. I'm able to perform the appropriate reRender. However, I'd also like to be able to make use of rich:effect to make it a bit prettier. Ideally, I'd like to be able to have the messages fade in and then disappear when the user clicks on them. However, I've been unable to get this working thus far. Has anyone gotten such a scenario working? Does anyone who knows JSF/Seam a bit better than me have any good advice? Thanks in advance!

  • JSP Component Creation

    - by jboyd
When creating JSP pages one thing that I'd often like is the ability to do something like this: <jsp:include page="fancystoryrenderer.jsp" value="${aStoryObjectInMyModel}/> ... fancystoryrenderer.jsp <div id="fancymainbody"> ... ${theStory.title} ... </div> The main important characteristics of this is that I can reuse the same component on the same JSP page in different places without having to copy paste the component and give the story variables different names, notice that the story is called "theStory" in the JSP and not "aStoryObjectInMyModel", the linkage between our model has been broken by the view, which is a good thing in this case How do you do this?

  • Can I write a module/filter that gets fired before the web app get's run in Tomcat?

    - by Blankman
Can I write a module/filter that gets put into the processing pipleline in Tomcat BEFORE the web application even gets run? Something that I could turn on/off for each web application that tomcat is handling. is this possible? So basically it would be a re-usable filter that hooks into the web pipeline that could alter the requests behavior or perform/modify the requests. One example would be to log all ip's, or redirect based on the url, block the request, etc.

  • Best way to force Spring shutdown from a bean?

    - by xcut
My application uses a Spring DefaultMessageListenerContainer to process incoming messages. The main method of the app already registers a shutdown hook. Question is this: what is the best way to force the application context to shut down? If I throw a RuntimeException in the message listener, it is handled by the container, and not passed on. Is calling System.exit acceptable? Do I pass along the ApplicationContext to every class that needs to shut down, so I can call close() on it?

  • Must JDBC Resultsets and Statements be closed separately although the Connection is closed afterwards?

    - by Mulmoth
It is said to be a good habit to close all JDBC resources after usage. But if I have the following code, is it necessary to close the Resultset and the Statement? Connection conn = null; PreparedStatement stmt = null; ResultSet rs = null; try { conn = // Retrieve connection stmt = conn.prepareStatement(// Some SQL); rs = stmt.executeQuery(); } catch { // Error Handling } finally { try { if (rs != null) rs.close(); } catch (Exception e) {}; try { if (stmt != null) stmt.close(); } catch (Exception e) {}; try { if (conn != null) conn.close(); } catch (Exception e) {}; } The question is if the closing of the connection does the job or if it leaves some resources in use.

  • Multiple returns: Which one sets the final return value?

    - by DR
Given this code: String test() { try { return "1"; } finally { return "2"; } } Do the language specifications define the return value of a call to test()? In other words: Is it always the same in every JVM? In the Sun JVM the return value is 2, but I want to be sure, that this is not VM-dependant.

  • Barcode reading method?

    - by Atlas
I recently acquired a Metrologic Barcode scanner (USB port), as everyone already knows it works as a keyboard emulator out of the box. Now my question, how do I configure the scanner and my application, so that my app can process the barcode data directly. That is, I don't want the user to focus on a "Text field" and then process the data when the KeyPress event fires.

  • Doesn't Spring really support Interface injection at all?

    - by mrCoder
Hi I know that Spring doesn't supports Interface injection and I've read that many a times. But today as I came across an article about IOC by Martin Fowler (link), it seems using ApplicationContextAware in Spring is some what similar to the Interface injection. when ever Spring' context reference is required in our Spring bean, we'll implement ApplicationContextAware and will implement the setApplicationContext(ApplicationContext context) method, and we'll include the bean in the config file. Is not this the same as Interface injection, where where telling the Spring to inject (or), say, pass the reference of the context into this bean? Or I m missing something here? Thanks for any information! ManiKanta

  • Add file in ANT build (Tomcat server)

    - by Shaded
    Hey everyone, I have an ANT build that I need to setup so on deployment of the .war a certain file will be placed in a specific location. Currently my ant builds the war as follows... <target name="war" depends="jar"> <war destfile="${deploy}/file.war" webxml="${web-inf}/web.xml"> <fileset dir="${WebRoot}"> <include name="**/*.vm" /> <include name="**/*.js" /> <include name="**/*.jsp" /> <include name="**/*.html" /> <include name="**/*.css" /> <include name="**/*.gif" /> <include name="**/*.jpg" /> <include name="**/*.png" /> <include name="**/*.tld" /> <include name="**/applicationContext*.xml" /> <include name="**/jpivot/**" /> <include name="**/wcf/**" /> <include name="**/platform/**" /> <include name="**/Reports/**" /> </fileset> <lib dir="${web-inf.lib}" /> </war> </target> The file I need is called Scriptlet.class and it needs to be in WebRoot/WEB-INF/classes/ I've tried several things to get this to work and have yet to find one that works... if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it!

  • Eclipse Plugin: Enablement of an Action based on the current selection - before the

    - by Itay
Here's my problem: I am using the org.eclipse.ui.popupMenus extension point for adding a sub-menu whose Action that is bounded to the following class: public class MyAction implements IObjectActionDelegate { private Logic logic = Logic.getInstance(); // Singleton public void setActivePart(IAction a, IWorkbenchPart targetPart) { // Nothing here } public void run(IAction a) { // Do something... } public void selectionChanged(IAction a, ISelection s) { a.setEnabled(logic.isEnabled(s)); } } This action is working correctly in most cases (including the call a.setEnabled() in selectionChanged()). My problem at the very first time my action is being invoked. The selectionChanged method is called only after the menu item has been displayed (and not when the user has made the selection) which means that the call to a.setEnabled() will have no affect. Any ideas on how to make my action receive selectionChanged() notifications even before the fist time it is being invoked?

  • OGNL thread safety

    - by Dewfy
I'm going to reuse OGNL library out of Struts2 scope. I have rather large set of formulas, that is why I would like to precompile all of them: Ognl.parseExpression(expressionString); But I'm not sure if precompiled expression can be used in multi-thread environment. Does anybody knows if it can be used?

  • HTML Dynamic Number of Dropdowns

    - by Evilsithgirl
    I have this form on which I would like to create a dynamic number of dropdowns. I have a list of categorized applications which I would like each to have its own dropdown that submits data for each dropdown. The dropdown options will be the same for each. Here is my code. I am not sure how to pass the unique data to the server. As you can see I currently have an iteration over a list of applications that I would like to make each select in that iteration its own dropdown. Thanks in advance. <html:form action="/CategorizeApps.do"> <h3>Uncategorized</h3> <br/> Categorize each application using the dropdown menu then click categorize.<br/> <table class="list"> <thead> <tr class="controls"> <td><input type="submit" name="btnAction" value="Categorize"/></td> </tr> <tr class="fields"> <td>ID</td> <td>Name</td> <td></td> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <logic:iterate id="uncat" name="appsUncat" scope="session"> <tr class="hlist"> <td><bean:write property="id" name="uncat" scope="page"/></td> <td><bean:write property="name" name="uncat" scope="page"/></td> <td><select id="category" name="category"> <logic:iterate id="categories" name="Categories" scope="session"> <option value="<bean:write name="categories" property="id" scope="page"/>"><bean:write name="categories" property="name" scope="page"/></option> </logic:iterate> </select></td> </tr> </logic:iterate> </tbody> </table> </html:form>

  • CodeModel help needed for right-hand singleton.getinstance() assignment.

    - by antarti
I've been able to generate 99% of what I need with the CodeModel API, but I am stumped here... Using the various "directXX" methods does not add import statements to the generated code, and I can work without the "directXXX" type of methods except for one place in a generated class. Suppose I desire a generated method like: /** * Copies data from this Value-Obj instance, to the returned PERSON instance. * * @return PERSON * */ public PERSON mapVOToPERSON() throws MappingException { Mapper mapper = (com.blah.util.MapperSingleton.getMapperInstance()); return mapper.map(this, PERSON.class); } You can see the right hand of the Mapper assignment in parens. Emitting the entire package+class was the only way I could find to just declare "SomeSingleton.someMethod()" on the right hand side and have the generated code compile. Without the MapperSingleton being added to the object model, there is no import generated... Questions: 1) Is there a way to force an import to be generated? 2) How to declare an expression that gives me the right side of the Mapper assignment within the object model (so that an import of MapperSingleton gets generated. Any help appreciated...
