  Hi, First of all, i hope i post in the right section. I came across this best media convertor open source software. It works fine and the most convenience thing about this software is the context menu however the context menu isn't working on Windows 7 64bit. • architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application?

  I am using JDBC to connect to my microsoft access database. I get the following exception when I try to connect to the database: java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application I am using 64bit windows7, and I am using eclipse which is also a 64bit version My database is a microsoft access database and it seems that the driver is a 32bit driver which is causing the problem. I read somewhere that microsoft has not released a 64bit driver for microsoft access! Any help on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

• WinDbg fails to find symbol file reporting 'unrecognized OMF sig'

  I have received a 64bit dump of a 32bit app that was running on Win7 x64. I am able to load it in WinDbg (hint: !wow64exts.sw) running on a 64bit OS. The symbols for most of my dlls are loaded properly. The pdb for one though does not load. The same pdb does load properly for the same dll when reading a 32bit dump on a different system. I've also confirmed that the dll and pdb match each other via the chkmatch utility. I tried .symopt +40 but the pdb still didn't load. I did !sym noisy then .reload - WinDbg reported: DBGHELP: unrecognized OMF sig: 811f1121 *** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols Any ideas on what to try to get WinDbg to load my pdb when reading a 64bit dump?

• Biztalk Server 2006 64bit problem

  Hi, I am trying to install a 64-bit biztalk server 2006. However when I start my installation it asks if I want to get my .cab file from the internet or install it manually etc. Because of internet security issues here at our work we can't get it from the internet directly. So I downloaded it manually: BtsRedistW2k3EN64.cab, to be exact. However when I try to install this it complains about: This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor. I opened the cab file and found out that the file: SQLServer2005_ADOMD.msi was apparently the problem. So I thought I'd install the 64bit version of this msi then: SQLServer2005_ADOMD_x64.msi, however I get the same error. So atm I'm pretty stuck. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot

• Bioshock2 installer is not running under windows 7 64bit

  When I try to install the Bioshock2 game under windows 7 64-bit i get the following error- "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher." I try to run it in compatibility mode (as XP and admin) I get the same error. I don't understand why it is giving me this error because if it is 32bit program then it should just run like other 32 bit application I have. And I am sure Bioshock2 is not a 16bit game. What can I do to run this program? It ran on Windows XP in the past.

• Adobe Master Collection CS3 wont run on my Windows 7 64bit

  I have a brand new HP p6230y. My first step after booting it up was to install Master Collection. It installs fine, but when I go to run each of the applications, and they all behave differently. I have re-installed twice already. Photoshop opens, but freezes. Acrobat tells me that I need to reinstall. Nothing else even opens (no freezing, no process in taskman). Any Ideas?   I have a Pavilion dv4 notebook running Windows 7 64bit Enterprise edition. This morning I started to notice some really strange behavior in how it handled its built-in keyboard. At random intervals there will be a long delay in key presses, to which some keys will never show and other keys will continue to repeat until you hit the backspace. Other keys get mapped incorrectly to other keys. If I hook up an external keyboard the problem does not appear. Before I reformat the machine and do a fresh install, I thought I would check here to see if anyone has experienced this same issue and if so, how did you fix it?

• USB microphone very quiet in Windows 7 64bit [migrated]

  My microphone input is very quiet. I record my voice and the recording comes out very faint. I can barely see the level indicator move when I'm 4 inches away, only when I'm 0.5 inches away does it pick up well enough.   Hi All, I have this problem where, in any application, 95% of the time when i try to save it pops up with a "Save As" dialogue. And if i try to select the original file i get an error popup "The operation could not be completed". I have Windows 7 RC 64bit with a X-25M SSD. I have upgraded the firmware for the SSD just in case and still the problem persists. Has anyone come across this before or know the problem? Or is there some indication i should be looking for in the event logs? Thanks

• Completely clean previous Radeon drivers on Windows 7 64bit

  Recently I replaced my old Radeon HD 2600XT to Radeon HD 6770 from MSI. I had strange problem that after installing the newest Radeon drivers they exist only until first reboot. After reboot my new card is recognized as an old 2600. I tried to unintall ATI/AMD software completetely from Programs/Features, then reboot, then untinstall driver from device manager, then reboot, then system showed that display driver is regular VGA (and oldschool 640x480 resolutions). Then to be double sure I executed DriverCleaner3 and Driver sweeper. After the restart I installed the newest drivers from amd site but after restarting the system recognizes card as 2600. I'm completely lost. Perhaps Win7 64bit caches somewhere drivers? Are there any issues regarding drivers-shadowing or 32/64 mirroring? Reinstalling the system is not an option.

  I'm trying to install php 5.1.2 on a CentOS 6 server (for grandfathering in old websites). I downloaded an RPM file ( php-5.1.2-5.x86_64.rpm ), but when I use: yum install php-5.1.2-5.x86_64.rpm I get the following error: Error: Package: php-5.1.2-5.x86_64 (/php-5.1.2-5.x86_64) Requires: libcurl.so.3()(64bit) I have tried several things including the following: ln -s /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4 /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.3 (To make it symlink to the newer version) Downloaded curl-7.15.5-2.1.el5_3.5.x86_64.rpm and took the libcurl.so.3 out of the rpm and placed it in /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.3 with the same permissions as libcurl.so.4. Nothing has worked. Any ideas?

• Windows 2008 Server SP2 64bit - TCP Connections never releasing after TIME_WAIT

  Hello fellow admins :) We have an issue with Windows 2008 Datacenter edition SP2 64bit. We have a process that is polling very frequently and establishing new TCP connections. The system gets in a state where we end up with over 16k connections in TIME_WAIT state. The default OS timeout is 120 seconds after which these connections should go away, but that never happens. These connections persist and never get cleaned up even after the originating process has long terminated (we are still at 16k connections two days after the process was killed). The OS is supposed to time them out but it doesn't. Has anyone else seen this behavior and if so what was done to resolve it. We are aware of how to tune the tcp stack to make the timeout shorter or allow more connections but this is not the issue here. Thanks!

• Auto-connect Bluetooth headphones in Windows 7 64bit

  I have a pair of bluetooth headphones that I've successfully paired with my Windows 7 64bit machine and audio plays through them without a hitch. On the Device Stage under the properties of the headphones in troubleshooting it shows "last connected" as "currently connected" even if I power cycle the headphones or after a reboot of my computer. So the Windows bluetooth stack has no trouble finding them. The problem I have is that whenever the headphones reconnect to my pc they show up as disconnected in the Sound Settings and no sound is routed to them until I manually connect them. I have to go into Sound Settings, then from the Playback tab right click on the headphones and choose the Connect option. Is there a way to make the Sound Settings connect automatically whenever the headphones are available to Windows?

• Java Applets fail to launch in Windows 7 64bit

  Hi can you help? I'm having great trouble launching Java applets using Windows 7 64 bit. I have the 32 bit version of Java installed (as recommended, for use with 32 bit browsers). When I click on an Java applet to open it the Java logo shows with a circular progress bar, but the process goes no further, just the progress bar going round and round. There are no error messages. The computer is a few months old and Java has never worked properly. I've tried with both IE9 and Chrome, followed the suggested fixes, uninstall then reinstall, check certain browser settings (all were in order), check Java control panel settings (again all was in order) delete the internet cache etc, tried 32bit & 64bit Java side by side. All to no avail. I'm baffled Is there anything else to try, or do I have to accept a computer without Java (Very inconvenient!) Thanks

  Salvete! I just discovered that winhlp32.exe won't run on Windows7 64bit. I can't run the application, and I can't run hlp files either (but .chm files run fine). How do I make this work? I have downloaded the Microsoft fix here and restarted my computer, but to no avail. I can see the file winhlp32.exe in my c:\windows directory, but cannot run it. When I do run it, I get Windows' own "Help and Support" entitled, "Why can't I get Help from this program?" which sends me to the link above! How can I make it work?

  Hibernate doesn't work in Windows 7 64bit. When I try to hibernate, it just turns off computer and when I turn on it, it doesn't resume and it just starts as 'fresh' again. I updated my drivers.   I am trying to install wamp server (following is the exact setup name) on windows 7, 64Bit OS. But it never starts, icon stays in orange color meaning some services did not start. wampserver2.2e-php5.3.13-httpd2.2.22-mysql5.5.24-x64 I have been searching from last 3hours but did not find any solution. Port 80 is not in use. In windows services, when I try to start wampapache service manually, it throws following error: Windows could not start the wampapache service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond ot the start or control request in a timely fashion. apache_error.log is empty. Things use to work fine in windows XP. May be this is a repeated thread, but I did go through similar posts. But nothing worked! Please help!!

  I'm a software developer and my workstation is running Win7 Ultimate, 64bit. I want to run a virtual PC on which I can deploy and run the web-software I create, as a virtual web-server PC. I want the VM to also be Windows as that's what I know, the version isn't too important but on that PC I want to run things like MySQL, TomCat, etc. I see VMWare make 'Player', also I see VirtualBox and I know MS also have solutions too, which I've heard good things about. Does it make much difference which I use as far as creating & using VMs? Or are they all pretty similar?

  I am having problem with a user account on a Windows 7 machine (local install, admin user account) APPDATA and LOCALAPPDATA environment are not set. Another user on the same machine, (also a local account, but without admin rights) has the variables set. This started to happen recently, however, I can not figure out if there was something installed on the machine to cause this.   I'm having a strange behavior about my network setup. I have 2 laptops, one (Lenovo) with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and another (Acer) with Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and a wireless router. I'm connecting these 2 using the router but with a strange behavior. I can ping both machines, as well as the router, but when i try to access their shared folders (\\computer_name\shared_folder) the connection starts to fail and I need to reboot both machines to get it working again. But this only happens sometimes, sometimes it works.

We will be completely replacing the old 512 MB modules. Will there be any performance difference between installing 4 modules @ 1GB vs. 2 modules @ 2GB?
