  • Weird Animation when inserting a row in UITableView

    - by svveet
    I have tableview which holds a list of data, when users press "Edit" i add an extra row at the bottom saying "add new" - (void)setEditing:(BOOL)editing animated:(BOOL)animated { [super setEditing:editing animated:animated]; NSArray *paths = [NSArray arrayWithObject: [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:1 inSection:0]]; if (editing) { [[self tableView] insertRowsAtIndexPaths:paths withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationTop]; } else { [[self tableView] deleteRowsAtIndexPaths:paths withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationTop]; } } and of course the UITableView transform with animation, but weird thing is the row before the row that i just added, has different animation than all others. all rows perform "slides in" animation, but that 2nd last one did a "fade in" animation. and i didnt set any animation on the 2nd last row (or any other row), and if i didnt add the new row in, the animation slides in as normal when i switch to editing mode. somehow i cant find an answer, i check with contact app on my phone, it didnt have that weird animation as i have, when they adding a new row on editing mode. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • iphone selecting a row to change view

    - by Rob J
    I have created the view Controllers and attached those to control their respective views. I can't figure out how to make the following code to go the right views though. (This is in the root view controller:) - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { RunViewController *runViewController = [[RunViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"RunView" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; CalcViewController *calcViewController = [[CalcViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"CalcView" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; PushViewController *pushViewController = [[PushViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"PushView" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; SitViewController *sitViewController = [[SitViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SitView" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; TimerViewController *timerViewController = [[TimerViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"TimerView" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:runViewController animated:YES]; [runViewController release]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:pushViewController animated:YES]; [pushViewController release]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:sitViewController animated:YES]; [sitViewController release]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:timerViewController animated:YES]; [timerViewController release]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:calcViewController animated:YES]; [calcViewController release]; runViewController = nil; pushViewController = nil; sitViewController = nil; timerViewController = nil; calcViewController = nil; } Each time I select any of the rows in the table - all of the views come up. How do I arrange them to only open the view that it is supposed to?

  • UITableViewCell select even doesn't work

    - by saimun
    I had a page control(UIPageControl) on a view (UIViewController) with table view (UITableView) on each page, each page have own table and can go to different view controller. i add the codes in "didSelectRowAtIndexPath" which can go to next level, is works perfect when i test it in a table view by itself, but it doesn't works when i have page controller with it. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { [tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES]; if (pageNumber == 0) { PicturesViewController *picturesView = [[PicturesViewController alloc] init]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:picturesView animated:YES]; [picturesView release]; } else if (pageNumber == 1) { PictureDetailViewController *pictureDetailView = [[PictureDetailViewController alloc] init]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:pictureDetailView animated:YES]; [pictureDetailView release]; } else if (pageNumber == 2) { MessagesViewController *messagesView = [[MessagesViewController alloc] init]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:messagesView animated:YES]; [messagesView release]; } } here is the code, if view directly to this table view this code is work, how can i make it work under the pagecontrol??

    - by Reinhard
    to show a modal uiview out of my mainView I use: [self presentModalViewController:myController animated:YES]; and in MyController I close that view with: [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; But how can I know in the mainView that the modal was finished (to redraw my table)? Currently I set a local variable to YES in my mainView after starting the modal view an react on viewWillAppear: [self presentModalViewController:myController animated:YES]; _reloadTableData = YES; -(void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; if (_reloadTableData) { _reloadTableData = NO; [_tableView reloadData]; } } Is there a better way to do so ?

  • How to display data stored in core data in a table view?

    - by Dipanjan Dutta
    Hello All, I have developed a core data model for my application. I need to display the saved data into a table view. For my app I have selected split view controller. I am writing down my codes below. Please help me in this regard and write me the code that needs to be added. This is very important as my continuation in my company depends on this. #import "RootViewController.h" #import "DetailViewController.h" #import "AddViewController.h" #import "EmployeeDetailsAppDelegate.h" /* This template does not ensure user interface consistency during editing operations in the table view. You must implement appropriate methods to provide the user experience you require. */ @interface RootViewController () - (void)configureCell:(UITableViewCell *)cell atIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath; @end @implementation RootViewController @synthesize detailViewController, fetchedResultsController, managedObjectContext, results, empName; #pragma mark - #pragma mark View lifecycle - (void)viewDidLoad { results = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc]init]; [results setObject:empName.text forKey:@"EmployeeName"]; [self.tableView reloadData]; [super viewDidLoad]; } /* - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; } */ /* - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidAppear:animated]; } */ /* - (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillDisappear:animated]; } */ /* - (void)viewDidDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidDisappear:animated]; } */ - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { // Ensure that the view controller supports rotation and that the split view can therefore show in both portrait and landscape. return YES; } - (void)configureCell:(UITableViewCell *)cell atIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSManagedObject *managedObject = [self.fetchedResultsController objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]; cell.textLabel.text = [[managedObject valueForKey:@"EmployeeName"] description]; } #pragma mark - #pragma mark Add a new object - (void)insertNewObject:(id)sender { AddViewController *add = [[AddViewController alloc]initWithNibName:@"AddViewController" bundle:nil]; self.modalPresentationStyle = UIModalPresentationFormSheet; add.wantsFullScreenLayout = NO; [self presentModalViewController:add animated:YES]; [add release]; } #pragma mark - #pragma mark Table view data source - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { return 1; } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { return 1; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; } // Configure the cell.   • How can I get Dreamscene wallpapers to change randomly in Win7?

    - by andygrunt
    Having only recently moved over from Windows XP to Windows 7, I’m a big fan of the ‘Dreamscene’ animated wallpaper. I’m also a big fan of the Win 7 ability to select a group of still wallpaper bitmaps and set it to randomly change wallpapers every ‘X’ minutes/hours. What I want is the ability to do the same with the dreamscene animated wallpapers, i.e. select a group and they randomly change every ‘X’ minutes. Beyond that, I’d also like to be able to select a group of stills and animated wallpapers and randomly change between them.

  • How do I center a UIImageView within a full-screen UIScrollView?

    - by Sebastian Celis
    In my application, I would like to present the user with a full-screen photo viewer much like the one used in the Photos app. This is just for a single photo and as such should be quite simple. I just want the user to be able to view this one photo with the ability to zoom and pan. I have most of it working. And, if I do not center my UIImageView, everything behaves perfectly. However, I really want the UIImageView to be centered on the screen when the image is sufficiently zoomed out. I do not want it stuck to the top-left corner of the scroll view. Once I attempt to center this view, my vertical scrollable area appears to be greater than it should be. As such, once I zoom in a little, I am able to scroll about 100 pixels past the top of the image. What am I doing wrong? @interface MyPhotoViewController : UIViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate> { UIImage* photo; UIImageView *imageView; } - (id)initWithPhoto:(UIImage *)aPhoto; @end @implementation MyPhotoViewController - (id)initWithPhoto:(UIImage *)aPhoto { if (self = [super init]) { photo = [aPhoto retain]; // Some 3.0 SDK code here to ensure this view has a full-screen // layout. } return self; } - (void)dealloc { [photo release]; [imageView release]; [super dealloc]; } - (void)loadView { // Set the main view of this UIViewController to be a UIScrollView. UIScrollView *scrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] init]; [self setView:scrollView]; [scrollView release]; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Initialize the scroll view. CGSize photoSize = [photo size]; UIScrollView *scrollView = (UIScrollView *)[self view]; [scrollView setDelegate:self]; [scrollView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blackColor]]; // Create the image view. We push the origin to (0, -44) to ensure // that this view displays behind the navigation bar. imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0, -44.0, photoSize.width, photoSize.height)]; [imageView setImage:photo]; [scrollView addSubview:imageView]; // Configure zooming. CGSize screenSize = [[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds].size; CGFloat widthRatio = screenSize.width / photoSize.width; CGFloat heightRatio = screenSize.height / photoSize.height; CGFloat initialZoom = (widthRatio > heightRatio) ? heightRatio : widthRatio; [scrollView setMaximumZoomScale:3.0]; [scrollView setMinimumZoomScale:initialZoom]; [scrollView setZoomScale:initialZoom]; [scrollView setBouncesZoom:YES]; [scrollView setContentSize:CGSizeMake(photoSize.width * initialZoom, photoSize.height * initialZoom)]; // Center the photo. Again we push the center point up by 44 pixels // to account for the translucent navigation bar. CGPoint scrollCenter = [scrollView center]; [imageView setCenter:CGPointMake(scrollCenter.x, scrollCenter.y - 44.0)]; } - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setBarStyle:UIBarStyleBlackTranslucent]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarStyle:UIStatusBarStyleBlackTranslucent animated:YES]; } - (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillDisappear:animated]; [[[self navigationController] navigationBar] setBarStyle:UIBarStyleDefault]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarStyle:UIStatusBarStyleDefault animated:YES]; } - (UIView *)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollView { return imageView; } @end

  • How to Create a Cinemagraph; Still Photos with Moving Elements

    - by Jason Fitzpatrick
    Cinemagraphs, still photos with moving elements, are quite a trend in photography circles. Unlike jerky animated GIFs, they’re much more fluid and subtle. Learn how to make them with this tutorial. At Photojojo! they have a detailed tutorial outlining how to create a cinemagraph that covers the planning and execution of your image. If you’ve never heard of the process before it’s pretty neat. You take a series of photographs and then, using image editing tools, mask off only the parts of the photo you want to move (like the eyes in the photos sample seen here). Then you blend the photos together and create an animated GIF where in only the small portion of the image actually moves. This is quite different than the jerky animated GIFs that result when people try to turn full motion video into an animation. Hit up the link below to see how you can create your own cinemagraphs. • iPhone: Grouped tables and navigation controller issues

    - by Jack Griffiths
    Hi there, I've set up a grouped table on my app, and pushing to new views works fine. Except for one thing. The titles and stack layout are all weird. Here's the breakdown: I have two sections in my table. When I tap on the first row in the first section, it takes me to the correct view, but the title of the new view is the name of the first row in the second section of the table. In turn, the second row in the first section's title is the second row in the second section's title. If I tap on the second row in the second section of the root view table, the navigation button goes to the second row in the first section of the table. So here's a diagram of my table: Table Section 1 Row 1 Row 2 Row 3 Table Section 2 Row A Row B Row C So if I tap on row 3, the title of the pushed view is Row C. The navigation button tells me to go back to Row 3, then eventually ending up at the root view. Here's my implementation file pushing the views: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { //CSS if ([[arryClientSide objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] isEqual:@"CSS"]) { CSSViewController *css = [[CSSViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"CSSViewController" bundle:nil]; [css setTitle:@"CSS"]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:css animated:YES]; } //HTML if ([[arryClientSide objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] isEqual:@"HTML"]) { HTMLViewController *html = [[HTMLViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"HTMLViewController" bundle:nil]; [html setTitle:@"HTML"]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:html animated:YES]; } //JS if ([[arryClientSide objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] isEqual:@"JavaScript"]) { JSViewController *js = [[JSViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"JSViewController" bundle:nil]; [js setTitle:@"JavaScript"]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:js animated:YES]; } //PHP if ([[arryServerSide objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] isEqual:@"PHP"]) { PHPViewController *php = [[PHPViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"PHPViewController" bundle:nil]; [php setTitle:@"PHP"]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:php animated:YES]; } //SQL if ([[arryServerSide objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] isEqual:@"SQL"]) { SQLViewController *sql = [[SQLViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SQLViewController" bundle:nil]; [sql setTitle:@"SQL"]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:sql animated:YES]; } & the array feeding the table's data: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; arryClientSide = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"CSS",@"HTML",@"JavaScript",nil]; arryServerSide = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"Objective-C", @"PHP",@"SQL",nil]; // arryResources = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"HTML Colour Codes", @"Useful Resources", @"About",nil]; self.title = @"Select a Language"; [super viewDidLoad]; // Uncomment the following line to display an Edit button in the navigation bar for this view controller. // self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = self.editButtonItem; } Any help would be greatly appreciated. • Subclassing UINavigationBar ... how do I use it in UINavigationController?

    - by funkadelic
    Hi, I wanted to subclass UINavigationBar (to set a custom background image & text color) and use that for all the navigation bars in my app. Looking at the API docs for UINavigationController, it looks like navigationBar is read-only: @property(nonatomic, readonly) UINavigationBar *navigationBar Is there a way to actually use a custom UINavigationBar in my UIViewControllers? I know that other apps have done custom navigation bars, like flickr: Here is my UINavigationBar subclass: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface MyNavigationBar : UINavigationBar <UINavigationBarDelegate> { } @end the implementation #import "MyNavigationBar.h" @implementation MyNavigationBar - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if (self = [super initWithFrame:frame]) { // Initialization code } return self; } - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { // override the standard background with our own custom one UIImage *image = [[UIImage imageNamed:@"navigation_bar_bgd.png"] retain]; [image drawInRect:rect]; [image release]; } #pragma mark - #pragma mark UINavigationDelegate Methods - (void)navigationController:(UINavigationController *)navigationController willShowViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController animated:(BOOL)animated{ // use the title of the passed in view controller NSString *title = [viewController title]; // create our own UILabel with custom color, text, etc UILabel *titleView = [[UILabel alloc] init]; [titleView setFont:[UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:18]]; [titleView setTextColor:[UIColor blackColor]]; titleView.text = title; titleView.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; [titleView sizeToFit]; viewController.navigationItem.titleView = titleView; [titleView release]; viewController.navigationController.navigationBar.tintColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.1 green:0.2 blue:0.3 alpha:0.8]; } - (void)navigationController:(UINavigationController *)navigationController didShowViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController animated:(BOOL)animated{ } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end I know that I can use a category to change the background image, but i still want to be able to set the text color of the navigation bar title @implementation UINavigationBar (CustomImage) - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed: @"navigation_bar_bgd.png"]; [image drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, self.frame.size.width, self.frame.size.height)]; } @end any suggestions or other solutions? I basically want to create a light background and dark text like Flickr's app navigation bars

  • Iphone xCode - Navigation Controller on second xib view?

    - by Frames84
    Everything is fine, my navigation controller display's my 'Menu 1' item, but when i click it there appears to be a problem with the: [self.navigationController pushViewController:c animated:YES]; line it doesn't connect to the break point in the myClass file. so I think i've not joined something? but unsure what? my second view with the navigation controller doesn't have direct access to the AppDelegate so can't join it like i see in some tutorials. 1st view is just a button when clicked calls: [self presentModalViewController:mainViewController animated:YES]; my second View 'MainViewController' header looks like: @interface MainViewController :UITableViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource> { NSArray *controllers; UINavigationController *navController; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UINavigationController *navControllers; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSArray *controller; Then I have my MainViewController.m @synthesize controllers; @synthesize navController; - (void) viewDidLoad { NSMutableArray *array = [[NSMutaleArray alloc] init]; myClass *c = [[myClass alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStylePlain]; c.Title = @"Menu 1"; [array addObject:c]; self.Controllers = array; [array release]; } implemented numberOfRowsInSection and cellForRowAtIndexPath - (void) tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; myClass *c = [self.controllers objectAtIndex:row]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:c animated:YES]; // doesn't load myClass c // [self.navController pushViewController:c animated:YES]; } Also in interface designer I dragged a Navigation Controller onto my new XIB and changed the Root View Controller class to MainViewController and also connected the File Owner connector to the Navigation Controller to connect the navController Outlet. Thanks for you time.

    Hi, the delegate method not called -(void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [theTableView setEditing:TRUE animated:TRUE]; } -(UITableViewCellEditingStyle)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView editingStyleForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { return UITableViewCellEditingStyleDelete; } by calling the above the methods i will get minus component before each cell in table view. • View isn't scrolling back down after I dismiss the keyboard

    - by fmi
    I have a Tab Bar app. One of the views has a UITextView that is hidden by the keyboard when touched. I've set the view to scroll to account for the keyboard but it the view doesn't always return to it's original position after I dismiss the keyboard. Here is my code: //Scroll the view for keyboard - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { void (^keyBoardWillShow) (NSNotification *)= ^(NSNotification * notif) { NSDictionary* info = [notif userInfo]; NSValue* aValue = [info objectForKey:UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey]; CGSize keyboardSize = [aValue CGRectValue].size; float bottomPoint = (additionalView.frame.origin.y + additionalView.frame.size.height + 10); scrollAmount = keyboardSize.height - (self.view.frame.size.height - bottomPoint); if (scrollAmount > 0) { moveViewUp =YES; [self scrollTheView:YES]; } else moveViewUp = NO; }; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserverForName:UIKeyboardWillShowNotification object:self.view.window queue:nil usingBlock:keyBoardWillShow]; void (^keyBoardWillHide) (NSNotification *)= ^(NSNotification * notif) { if (moveViewUp) [self scrollTheView:NO]; }; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserverForName:UIKeyboardWillHideNotification object:self.view.window queue:nil usingBlock:keyBoardWillHide]; [super viewWillAppear:animated]; } - (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] removeObserver:self name:UIKeyboardWillShowNotification object:nil]; [super viewWillDisappear:animated]; } (void)scrollTheView:(BOOL)movedUp { [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.3]; CGRect rect = self.view.frame; if (movedUp){ rect.origin.y -= scrollAmount; } else { rect.origin.y += scrollAmount; } self.view.frame = rect; [UIView commitAnimations]; }

  • How i pass my view to nib at run time(Dynamically) in viewController class?

    Hi, I want to create viewController class programmatically in which the view of nib file of viewController is not fixed. I have a UntitledViewController class that contains 4 UIButtons: -(IBAction)buttonPressed:(id)sender{ if((UIButton *)sender == button1){ tagNumber = button1.tag; NewViewController *newVC = [[NewViewController alloc] init]; //newVC.tagN [self.navigationController pushViewController:newVC animated:YES]; NSLog(@"Button Tag Number:- %i", tagNumber); } if((UIButton *) sender == button2){ tagNumber = button2.tag; NewViewController *newVC = [[NewViewController alloc] init]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:newVC animated:YES]; } if((UIButton *) sender == button3){ tagNumber = button3.tag; NewViewController *newVC = [[NewViewController alloc] init]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:newVC animated:YES]; } if((UIButton *) sender == button4){ int x = tagNumber; tagNumber = button4.tag; NewViewController *newVC = [[NewViewController alloc] init]; newVC.untitledVC = self; [self.navigationController pushViewController:newVC animated:YES]; } } When I will click any one of the UIButtons, I want to create a new NewViewController class with button tag property but without fixed nib file. In NewViewController's loadView event I want to fix the view of the nib of NewViewController class using UIButton's tag property (In NewViewController.xib I'm creating 4 UIViews named view1, view2, view3 and view4). -(void)loadView{ [super loadView]; CGRect frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480); UIView *newView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; newView.tag = untitledVC.tagNumber; self.view1 = newView; } Now I want that when I click button1 the NewViewController will be generated with view1 and when I click button2 the NewViewController will be generated with view2 and so on with different implementation. Thanks.

  • Differentiate Between UITableView Editing States?

    - by Josh Kahane
    I have been looking at trying to differentiate between editing states in my UITableView. I need to call a method only when in editing mode after tapping the edit button, so when you get your cell slide in and you see the little circular delete icons but NOT when the user swipes to delete. Is there anyway I can differentiate between the two? Thanks. EDIT: Solution thanks to Rodrigo Both each cell and the entire tableview has an 'editing' BOOL value, so I loop through all the cells and if more than one of them is editing then we know the whole table is (the user tapped the edit button), however if only one is editing then we know that the user has swiped a cell, editing that individual one, this lets me deal with each editing state individually! - (void)setEditing:(BOOL)editing animated:(BOOL)animated { [super setEditing:editing animated:animated]; int i = 0; //When editing loop through cells and hide status image so it doesn't block delete controls. Fade back in when done editing. for (customGuestCell *cell in self.tableView.visibleCells) { if (cell.isEditing) { i += 1; } } if (i > 1) { for (customGuestCell *cell in self.tableView.visibleCells) { if (editing) { // loop through the visible cells and animate their imageViews [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.4]; cell.statusImg.alpha = 0; [UIView commitAnimations]; } } } else if (!editing) { for (customGuestCell *cell in self.tableView.visibleCells) { [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.4]; cell.statusImg.alpha = 1.0; [UIView commitAnimations]; } } }

  • iPhone SDK: selectRowAtIndexPath with delegate methods

    - by norskben
    Hi SO I am using selectRowAtIndexPath to select a tableview in the same ViewController class, but this does not run the delegate methods, eg: tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath I would like these delegate methods to also be called. Is there another API call I can be using? Thanks From the apple docs: selectRowAtIndexPath:animated:scrollPosition: Selects a row in the receiver identified by index path, optionally scrolling the row to a location in the receiver. - (void)selectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath animated:(BOOL)animated scrollPosition:(UITableViewScrollPosition)scrollPosition Calling this method does not cause the delegate to receive a tableView:willSelectRowAtIndexPath: or tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath: message, nor will it send UITableViewSelectionDidChangeNotification notifications to observers.

  • pushViewController using UINavigationItem instead of UINavigationController

    - by jaume
    Hello, I have implemented a method didSelectRowAtIndexPath that should push another view. I have a code running properly using a navigationController but in this case I am using a navigationItem on a view. How could I trigger a view? Thanx Error log: 2010-03-25 00:09:52.459 TableArchive[1062:207] trigger 2010-03-25 00:09:52.461 TableArchive[1062:207] * -[UINavigationItem pushViewController:animated:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3921ca0 2010-03-25 00:09:52.462 TableArchive[1062:207] Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '** -[UINavigationItem pushViewController:animated:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3921ca0' 2010-03-25 00:09:52.463 TableArchive[1062:207] Stack: ( (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSLog(@"trigger"); if(dvController == nil) { DetailView *aController =[[DetailView alloc]initWithNibName:@"DetailView" bundle:nil]; self.dvController = aController; [aController release]; } [[self navItem]pushViewController:dvController animated:YES]; [dvController release]; }

  • Refreshing UIScrollView / Animation, timing (Objective-C)

    - by Switch
    I have a UIScrollView that is displaying a list of data. Right now, when the user adds one more item to the list, I can extend the content size of the UIScrollView and scroll down smoothly using setContentOffset and YES to animated. When the user removes an item from the list, I want to resize the content size of the UIScrollView, and scroll back up one step also in an animated fashion. How can I get the ordering right? Right now, if I resize the content size before scrolling back up, the scroll isn't animated. I tried scrolling back up before resizing the content size, but that still didn't give a smooth transition. Is there a way to finish the scrolling animation BEFORE resizing the content size? Thanks

  • Set an Interface Builder created element's state programatically

    - by mvexel
    I have a couple of UISwitch elements in a view controller that is presented modally in my iPhone app. I set up the view in IB. I want these UISwitch elements to reflect the current values in my [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] where I store the appropriate BOOLs. I thought this would do the trick setting the switches to the right state, but no: -(void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [backgroundSwitch setOn:[defaults boolForKey:kTrackInBackgroundKey] animated:NO]; [batterySaveSwitch setOn:[defaults boolForKey:kBatterySaveKey] animated:NO]; } The backgroundSwitch and batterySaveSwitch are declared as properties for the view controller class. They are not initialized; that does not seem to make a difference. I did check the values coming out of the NSUserDefaults dictionary. The method is being called at the right time.

  • Application crash when using an NSTimer and pushViewController

    - by Cesar
    I'm using an NSTimer to implement a 3 seconds splash screen. If a don't use a timer the view it's correctly pushed but if I use the timer for adding a little delay the application crash with a EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I'm pretty sure the answer contains "memory management" but I can't get the point... @interface RootViewController : UIViewController { NSTimer *timer; } -(void)changeView:(NSTimer*)theTimer; @property(nonatomic,retain) NSTimer *timer; ... @implementation RootViewController @synthesize timer; - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidAppear:animated]; [[self navigationController] setNavigationBarHidden:YES]; timer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:3.0 target:self selector:@selector(changeView:) userInfo:nil repeats:NO]; } -(void)changeView:(NSTimer*)theTimer { NSLog(@"timer fired"); //Crash here, but only if called using a timer [[self navigationController] pushViewController:list animated:YES]; }

  • MPMediaickerController memory leak

    - by Joe
    This is code from Apple's Addmusic example. MPMediaPickerController *picker = [[MPMediaPickerController alloc] initWithMediaTypes: MPMediaTypeMusic]; picker.delegate = self; picker.allowsPickingMultipleItems = YES; picker.prompt = NSLocalizedString (@"Add songs to play", "Prompt in media item picker"); // The media item picker uses the default UI style, so it needs a default-style // status bar to match it visually [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarStyle: UIStatusBarStyleDefault animated: YES]; [self presentModalViewController: picker animated: YES]; [picker release]; I'm using this code in my app and the Leaks instrument highlights a leak on the line: [self presentModalViewController: picker animated: YES]; I think that this is because this line retains a reference to picker which cannot be subsequently released. Is there any way around this?

  • presentViewController or presentModalViewController not supporting orientation in iOS 6

    - by Prateek
    I am new to this technology. I am using this code if ([self respondsToSelector:@selector(presentViewController:animated:completion:)]) { [self presentViewController:navigationControllerCustom animated:YES completion:nil]; } else { [self presentModalViewController:navigationControllerCustom animated:YES]; } My application has two orientation Portrait and Portrait upside down. This code works well with iOS 5.1, but orientation does not work on iOS 6 I have also added this code on my navigationControllerCustom class - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return (interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait || interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown); } -(NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations { return (UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortrait | UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortraitUpsideDown); } Please help me to solve this issue. Thanks in advance.

  • Animate the enabling of a UIBarButtonItem?

    - by Michael Brewer
    Is there a way to animate enabling or disabling a button? I've tried the following with no success. I'm guessing at this point that the enabled property cannot be animated like opacity can – but I hope I'm wrong. [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.0f]; theButton.enabled = YES; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; [UIView commitAnimations]; I can't believe there isn't a setEnabled:(BOOL)enabled animated:(BOOL)animated method.
