  • IE9 GPO Setting "Configure Tracking Protection Lists"

    I've just installed IE9 on my workstations and Server in our network. According to technet article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg699401.aspx There is a GPO setting for IE9 called "Configure Tracking Protection Lists" located at Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Privacy in the admistrative templates. I can find all the other IE9 settings in the GPO, but I cannot find this one. Does anyone know if there is an updated template, or if this setting was removed from the RC version of IE9?     how to force php to read SERVER_PORT as 80, when apache listens on 8080 and varnish listens on 80 ?? if my apache vhost is set to 8080, SERVER_PORT will always be 8080, this is troubling me a little since in many parts of the application some links are calculated with SERVER_NAME and SERVER_PORT together, .. so what I need is that php "believes" that SERVER_PORT is 80, so all links will pass trough varnish regards Daniel

  • How to model has_many with polymorphism?

    I've run into a situation that I am not quite sure how to model. Suppose I have a User class, and a user has many services. However, these services are quite different, for example a MailService and a BackupService, so single table inheritance won't do.     Hi, I have the following problem. When I connect gdb to qemu for debugging it won't break on breakpoints. I can set breakpoints, break with ctrl-c etc. Any clues how this can be fixed?   • Windows 7 .NET 3.5.1 - 2.0 Slightly Corrupted, How to Repair?

    My Windows 7 included .NET installation (3.5 to 2.0) appears very slightly and particularly corrupted and I am trying to fix it without reinstalling Windows or trying to revert to backups. Everything was working and then my hard drive started corrupting a few files and checkdisk found bad clusters so I imaged the drive to a new one. As soon as I booted on the new drive everything worked except programs which call the System.Net.NetworkInformation methods within .NET 3.5 to 2.0 (like Ping() and IsNetworkAvailable()), which immediately crash the app in which the calls are (those calls in .NET 4.0 works fine). Those methods are found inside System.dll, and I assume call native methods which I believe are inside winnsi.dll or iphlpapi.dll or something else (I've not found this yet); I assume it calls native methods because the exception which causes the crash is Fatal Execution Engine Error which people mention is usually related to calling native methods and marshaling data between them. A huge clue about the culprit is likely found in the fact that when I launch the exact same crashing application through a code profiler (which executes the exe and captures stats on which methods took the longest) the app works fine, no crash at all! How could running it within the profiler work and running it outside not work? That seems the key to the mystery. I've used procmon to catch all the registry, filesystem, and network events from the crashing execution and the profiler-run successful execution and compared the two outputs but didn't learn much (I see the moment at which the non-profiled app crashes, but up until then they behave the same, loaded the same modules, ). The only big difference seems to be that at the moment before the app crash the profiler-executed code creates 4-6 new threads and the directly executed code only creates 1-2. I have diffed the files/directories which seemed most relevant (the .NET stuff under Windows and Program Files) pre- and post- disk trouble and seen no changes where I didn't expect any (no obvious file corruption). I have diffed the software and system registry hives pre- and post- disk trouble and seen no changes which seemed relevant. I have created a new user account and cleaned up any environment variables in case environment was related. No change. I did "sfc /scannow" and it found no integrity problems. I tried "ngen update" to regenerate pre-compiled code in case I missed something that might be damaged and nothing changed. I assume I need to repair my .NET installation but because Windows 7 included .NET 3.5 - 2.0 you can't just re-run a .NET installer to redo it. I do not have access to the Windows disks to try to re-install Windows over itself (the computer has a recovery partition but it is unusable); also the drive uses a whole-disk encryption solution and re-installing would be difficult. I absolutely do not want to start from scratch here and install a fresh Windows, reinstall dozens of software packages, try and remember dozens of development-related customizations/etc. Given all that... does anyone have any helpful advice? I need .NET 3.5 - 2.0 working as I am a developer and need to build and test against it. Thanks! Quinxy

  • graphics-card makes sound-card produce a buzzing sound

    Recently I bought a new GPU: GeForce GTX 550 Ti, and after installing it I get a strange buzzing sound. It's not always there, just sometimes (mostly when I open some game, but sometimes also in browsers etc.). It's not a capacitor or a fan, as unplugging speakers from sound-card makes the 'bzzzzzzz' go away. However, muting windows doesn't mute this sound. I'm pretty sure it is fault of the new GPU, but how is this happening and can I fix it? Can it be a low power supply? I thought of buying a stronger unit, but as everything works, and computer doesn't shut down, I hesitate.

  • Transmission dependencies are not in repository

    I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 using Gnome3 through their ppa in launchpad. Went good until now. Today Ubuntu wanted to make some updates and I thought okay. But it didn't want to install all of them. Turned out there were not all dependencies in the ppa. Before I noticed that, I (noob :D) uninstalled (apt-get purge) Transmission in order to reinstall it. Bad Idea, because now I can't install it, even using synaptics. The problem: It seems like the only ppas that have transmission in it are the one from gnome3 team (not all packages included according to synaptics, v2.71) and the official (transmission-common missing, v2.61). So when I try to install a package it says that transmission-common is too new. I can't even find the version that should be somewhere in the official standard Ubuntu ppa. Installing from the Software center doesn't work either. Why aren't all dependencies in the ppas or why can't I see them? How can I install Transmission (stable, newest version) again? And why has the gnome3 team a newer version as the stable ppa of transmission? Are they including beta software? If you need any additional information just tell me. Sorry I think it's quiet confusing what I did there. Thanks in advance. EDIT1 Okay sorry, I should have explained better. When I try to install it tells me something of dependency problems.   • Determine wifi capabilities of Windows box (with WSUS install rules)

    I need to determine if a computer is in fact a laptop with wifi capabilities (with emphasis on wifi rather than laptop). More precisely, I want to distribute a piece of software I wrote via WSUS and Local Update Publisher to those clients. To this end, I want to create appropriate "Package installable rules", that is simple rule used bay the Windows Update Service on the client to decide beforehand whether or not an update/installation package is applicable. Typically, such "installabel rules" are logical combinations of rules of type "File exists", "Registry Key exists", "WMI Query", "MSI Product Installed", so I'd prefer one of those methods. The method I hope someone here can help me find should work with Win 7/Vista, preferably also with XP. My guess is that WMI query is the way to go, but I have little experience in that. I have found that one can e.g. query for EnclosureType and that might detect a laptop. However, I would be much happier if an actually available wifi interface would be detected. Does anyone have an idea how to approach this? If there is anything you need me to clarify, don't hesitate to comment.

  • Windows 7 & Photoshop CS5.1 - "Fonts missing" issue - I have the font!! (sort of)

    I've noticed a really aggravating issue with Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 on at least two occasions. I downloaded a layered PSD file to work with, in the release notes it directed me to a download page for all of the font used, which was Futura Medium Condensed. I chcked and did not have any Futura fonts at all. So I downloaded and installed the font from the source provided by the provider of the PSD. I closed and reopened Photoshop and when I open the PSD file I get an error saying: Some text layers contain fonts that are missing. These layers will need to have the missing fonts replaced before they can be used for vector based output. I then go to edit the text layer and receive: The following fonts are missing for text layer "discount" Future CondensedExtraBold Font substitution will occur. Continue? If I click OK, it substitutes Myriad Pro for this layer. Didn't I download the right font? I go into the font dropdown and see I have a font with a slightly different name "Futura-CondensedExtraBold-Th Regular" I have also seen this issue with Helvetica. I have received a PSD file, same "some text layers contain fonts that are missing These..." error dialog when I open up the file - and when I go to edit a layer with text I get: The following fonts are missing for text layer "Home": Helvetica Font substitution will occur. Continue? I click continue - it substitutes Myriad Pro - and check my font list and sure enough I have a bunch of Helvetica fonts, none exactly named "Helvetica" Is this a common issue? Googling it yielded a few people with similar problems (I think all on Macs) but either no concrete help or no response. Is it that the two font names aren't EXACT matches? If that is the case is there any way of setting up Photoshop to more intelligently substitute or even set up some sort of mapping (if "Helvetica" then substitute "Helvetica Lt Std" ? Is there anything else, maybe something that I am not thinking of?

  • Cannot add VMDK to VM that was cloned with FlexClone

    I have a virtual machine called VM-A with two VMDK's on volume VOL-A. Call these VMDK-1 (system) and VMDK-2 (data). I want to clone VMDK-2 and attach that clone to VM-A as a new disk, but I'm getting an error. Here are my steps: I use the following command to clone : clone start /vol/VOL-A/VMDK-2 /vol/VOL-A/VMDK-3 Run clone status which shows successful and I can see the new file in the volume In vCenter I edit the settings of VM-A and try to add VMDK-3, but get the following error: Failed to add disk scsi0:4, Failed to power on scsi0:4 I've tried adding this cloned disk to other VMs and get the same error. What could be the issue? My specs are below. NetApp FAS 2040 Data ONTAP 8.0.1 vSphere ESXi 4.1 vCenter Server 4.1 Thanks, Daniel

    I'm trying to get a Curl Response from an outside server, however I noticed I cant neither PING the server in question nor connect to it. I tried disabling the iptables firewall but I had no success. My server is running behind a Cisco Linksys WRTN310N Router with the DD-wrt firmware Installed. In which I already disabled the firewall.
