  • Conversion failed when converting datetime from character string. Linq To SQL & OpenXML

    - by chobo2
    Hi I been following this tutorial on how to do a linq to sql batch insert. http://www.codeproject.com/KB/linq/BulkOperations_LinqToSQL.aspx However I have a datetime field in my database and I keep getting this error. This is my SP CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[spTEST_InsertXMLTEST_TEST](@UpdatedProdData nText) AS DECLARE @hDoc int exec sp_xml_preparedocument @hDoc OUTPUT,@UpdatedProdData INSERT INTO UserTable(CreateDate) SELECT XMLProdTable.CreateDate FROM OPENXML(@hDoc, 'ArrayOfUserTable/UserTable', 2) WITH ( CreateDate datetime ) XMLProdTable EXEC sp_xml_removedocument @hDoc C# code using (TestDataContext db = new TestDataContext()) { UserTable[] testRecords = new UserTable[1]; for (int count = 0; count < 1; count++) { UserTable testRecord = new UserTable() { CreateDate = DateTime.Now }; testRecords[count] = testRecord; } StringBuilder sBuilder = new StringBuilder(); System.IO.StringWriter sWriter = new System.IO.StringWriter(sBuilder); XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(UserTable[])); serializer.Serialize(sWriter, testRecords); db.spTEST_InsertXMLTEST_TEST(sBuilder.ToString()); } Rendered XML Doc <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <ArrayOfUserTable xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <UserTable> <CreateDate>2010-05-19T19:35:54.9339251-07:00</CreateDate> </UserTable> </ArrayOfUserTable>

  • Monotouch serialize UIImage

    - by cvista
    Hi I need to cache images locally and was thinking about saving them as SerializableDictionary SerializableDictionary is from: http://weblogs.asp.net/pwelter34/archive/2006/05/03/444961.aspx I was wondering if this was a: a good way of handling caching of images (for offline mode - the data is constantly updated so pulls from the web first). b: how can i do this? I seem to be only left with the following xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="us-ascii"?> <dictionary> <item> <key> <string>http://img.theguidestar.com/thumb/491520.png</string> </key> <value> <UIImage xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <Handle /> <Size> <Width>0</Width> <Height>0</Height> </Size> </UIImage> </value> </item> </dictionary> Is there anything specific i should be doing to make it serialize the image itself? w://

  • Proper way to implement IXmlSerializable?

    - by Greg
    Once a programmer decides to implement IXmlSerializable, what are the rules and best practices for implementing it? I've heard that GetSchema() should return null and ReadXml should move to the next element before returning. Are these true? And what about WriteXml: should it write a root element for the object or is it assumed that the root is already written? How should child objects be treated and written. Here's a sample of what I have now. I'll update it as I get good responses. public class Calendar: IEnumerable<Gvent>, IXmlSerializable { public XmlSchema GetSchema() { return null; } public void ReadXml(XmlReader reader) { if (reader.MoveToContent() == XmlNodeType.Element && reader.LocalName == "Calendar") { _Name = reader["Name"]; _Enabled = Boolean.Parse(reader["Enabled"]); _Color = Color.FromArgb(Int32.Parse(reader["Color"])); if (reader.ReadToDescendant("Event")) { while (reader.MoveToContent() == XmlNodeType.Element && reader.LocalName == "Event") { var evt = new Event(); evt.ReadXml(reader); _Events.Add(evt); } } reader.Read(); } } public void WriteXml(XmlWriter writer) { writer.WriteAttributeString("Name", _Name); writer.WriteAttributeString("Enabled", _Enabled.ToString()); writer.WriteAttributeString("Color", _Color.ToArgb().ToString()); foreach (var evt in _Events) { writer.WriteStartElement("Event"); evt.WriteXml(writer); writer.WriteEndElement(); } } } public class Event : IXmlSerializable { public XmlSchema GetSchema() { return null; } public void ReadXml(XmlReader reader) { if (reader.MoveToContent() == XmlNodeType.Element && reader.LocalName == "Event") { _Title = reader["Title"]; _Start = DateTime.FromBinary(Int64.Parse(reader["Start"])); _Stop = DateTime.FromBinary(Int64.Parse(reader["Stop"])); reader.Read(); } } public void WriteXml(XmlWriter writer) { writer.WriteAttributeString("Title", _Title); writer.WriteAttributeString("Start", _Start.ToBinary().ToString()); writer.WriteAttributeString("Stop", _Stop.ToBinary().ToString()); } }

  • Global Temporary Table Concurrency

    - by sahs
    Hi, I have a global temp table which is set as delete on commit. How does it behave on concurrency issue? I mean what happens if another session wants to use that global temporary table? The answer will probably not be "they share the same data". Now, if my guess is correct :), is the table locked until the first connection commits, or does the dbms create a global temp table for each connection? ( something like an instance of the table? )

  • RIA Services Repository Save does not work!?

    - by Savvas Sopiadis
    Hello everybody! Doing my first SL4 MVVM RIA based application and i ran into the following situation: updating a record (EF4,NO-POCOS!!) in the SL-client seems to take place, but values in the dbms are unchanged. Debugging with Fiddler the message on save is (amongst others): EntityActions.nil? b9http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/Arrays^HasMemberChanges?^Id?^ Operation?Update I assume that this says only: hey! the dbms should do an update on this record, AND nothing more! Is that right?! I 'm using a generic repository like this: public class Repository<T> : IRepository<T> where T : class { IObjectSet<T> _objectSet; IObjectContext _objectContext; public Repository(IObjectContext objectContext) { this._objectContext = objectContext; _objectSet = objectContext.CreateObjectSet<T>(); } public IQueryable<T> AsQueryable() { return _objectSet; } public IEnumerable<T> GetAll() { return _objectSet.ToList(); } public IEnumerable<T> Find(Expression<Func<T, bool>> where) { return _objectSet.Where(where); } public T Single(Expression<Func<T, bool>> where) { return _objectSet.Single(where); } public T First(Expression<Func<T, bool>> where) { return _objectSet.First(where); } public void Delete(T entity) { _objectSet.DeleteObject(entity); } public void Add(T entity) { _objectSet.AddObject(entity); } public void Attach(T entity) { _objectSet.Attach(entity); } public void Save() { _objectContext.SaveChanges(); } } The DomainService Update Method is the following: [Update] public void UpdateCulture(Culture currentCulture) { if (currentCulture.EntityState == System.Data.EntityState.Detached) { this.cultureRepository.Attach(currentCulture); } this.cultureRepository.Save(); } I know that the currentCulture-Entity is detached. What confuses me (amongst other things) is this: is the _objectContext still alive? (which means it "will be"??? aware of the changes made to record, so simply calling Attach() and then Save() should be enough!?!?) What am i missing? Development Environment: VS2010RC - Entity Framework 4 (no POCOs) Thanks in advance

  • Final form of parametric SQL commands in ADO.NET

    I am getting a syntax error when I send a parameterized query to Access from my C# program via ADO.NET. I, of course, know what SQL string I have included in my code, with the parameter names embedded inside. Does anyone know how I can look at the SQL string that is finally sent to the DBMS during after I call cmd.ExecuteNonQuery? Thanks.

  • Declraing namespace schema with prefix in XSD/XML

    - by user1493537
    I am new to XML and I have a couple of questions about prefix. I need to "add the root schema element and insert the declaration for the XML schema namespace using the xc prefix. Set the default namespace and target of the schema to the URI test.com/test1" I am doing: <xc:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://test.com/test1" targetNamespace="http://test.com/test1"> </xc:schema> Is this correct? The next one is: "insert the root schema element, declaring the XML schema namespace with the xc prefix. Declare the library namespace using the lib prefix and the contributors namespace using the cont prefix. Set the default namespace and the schema target to URI test.com/test2" The library URI is http://test.com/library and contributor URI is test.com/contributor I am doing: <xc:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:lib="http://test.com/library" xmlns:clist="http://test.com/contributor" targetNamespace="http://test.com/test2"> </xc:schema> Does this look right? I am confused with prefix and all. Thanks for the help.

  • Open/Close database connection in django

    - by mp0int
    I am using Django and Postgresql as my DBMS. I wish to set a setting that enables to enable/disable database connection. When the connection is set to closed (in settings.py) the site will display a message such as "meintanence mode" or something like that. Django will not show any db connection error message (or mail them to admins). It is appreciated if django do not try to connect to the database at all.

  • In-document schema declarations and lxml

    - by shylent
    As per the official documentation of lxml, if one wants to validate a xml document against a xml schema document, one has to construct the XMLSchema object (basically, parse the schema document) construct the XMLParser, passing the XMLSchema object as its schema argument parse the actual xml document (instance document) using the constructed parser There can be variations, but the essense is pretty much the same no matter how you do it, - the schema is specified 'externally' (as opposed to specifying it inside the actual xml document). If you follow this procedure, the validation occurs, sure enough, but if I understand it correctly, that completely ignores the whole idea of the schemaLocation and noNamespaceSchemaLocation attributes from xsi. This introduces a whole bunch of limitations, starting with the fact, that you have to deal with instance<-schema relation all by yourself (either store it externally or write some hack to retrieve the schema location from the root element of the instance document), you can not validate the document using multiple schemata (say, when each schema governs its own namespace) and so on. So the question is: maybe I am missing something completely trivial or doing it wrong? Or are my statements about lxml's limitations regarding schema validation true? To recap, I'd like to be able to: have the parser use the schema location declarations in the instance document at parse/validation time use multiple schemata to validate a xml document declare schema locations on non-root elements (not of extreme importance) Maybe I should look for a different library? Although, that'd be a real shame, - lxml is a de-facto xml processing library for python and is regarded by everyone as the best one in terms of performace/features/convenience (and rightfully so, to a certain extent)

  • Help with SOAP request using PHP

    - by mptre
    I'm having a SOAP related problem in PHP. I'm trying to create arbitrary SOAP request using Nusoap_client class. The complete request including headers should look like the example below. Ofcourse the placeholders (string) should be replaced with actual values. POST /services/RecipeCouponAPI11.asmx HTTP/1.1 Host: example.com Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8 Content-Length: length SOAPAction: "http://www.example.com/services/GetCouponAll" <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <soap:Header> <RCAuthenticator xmlns="http://www.example.com/services/"> <UserName>string</UserName> <Password>string</Password> </RCAuthenticator> </soap:Header> <soap:Body> <GetCouponAll xmlns="http://www.example.com/services/"> <campaignCode>string</campaignCode> </GetCouponAll> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> I tried the following code with no luck. Seems like the request isn't formated correctly. Any ideas on how to get his working? <?php $client = new Nusoap_client('http://www.example.com/services/RecipeCouponAPI11.asmx'); $headers = new SoapHeader( 'http://www.example.com/services/', 'RCAuthenticator', (object)array( 'UserName' => 'username', 'Password' => 'password' ), false ); $client->setHeaders(array($headers)); $response = $client->call( 'GetCouponAll', array('campaignCode' => 'campaigncode'), null, 'http://www.example.com/services/GetCouponAll' ); ?> Thanks in advantage!

  • JAX-WS client with AXIS server; namespace problem?

  • Why use NoSQL over Materialized Views?

    - by JustinT
    There has been a lot of talk recently about NoSQL. The #1 reason why I hear people use NoSQL is because they start to de-normalize their DBMS data so much so, to increase performance, that they end up with just one table with all of their data within that single table. With Materialized Views however, you can keep your data normalized, yet have it stored as a single table view for the same reasons why you'd use NoSQL. As such, why would someone use NoSQL over Materialized Views?

  • I need my BizTalk map to stop converting xml:lang to ns1:lang

    I have a map in BizTalk 2009 that is converting some data into an XML document to be sent on to another system. The target schema includes some elements with xml:lang attributes. I have a simple XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <WeightStore xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <Records> <Record actual="150" date="2010-05-01T00:00:00" /> <Record actual="155" date="2010-05-02T00:00:00" /> </Records> </WeightStore> I have a simple class structure: [Serializable] public class Record { [XmlAttribute("actual")] public double weight { get; set; } [XmlAttribute("date")] public DateTime date { get; set; } [XmlIgnore] public double trend { get; set; } } [Serializable] [XmlRoot("WeightStore")] public class SimpleWeightStore { [XmlArrayAttribute("Records")] private List<Record> records = new List<Record>(); public List<Record> Records { get { return records; } } [OnDeserialized()] public void OnDeserialized_Method(StreamingContext context) { // This code never gets called Console.WriteLine("OnDeserialized"); } } I am using these in both calling code and in the class files: using System.Xml.Serialization; using System.Runtime.Serialization; I have some calling code: SimpleWeightStore weight_store_reload = new SimpleWeightStore(); TextReader reader = new StringReader(xml); XmlSerializer deserializer = new XmlSerializer(weight_store.GetType()); weight_store_reload = (SimpleWeightStore)deserializer.Deserialize(reader); The problem is that I am expecting OnDeserialized_Method to get called, and it isn't. I suspect it might have something to do with the fact that it's XML deserialization rather than Runtime deserialization, and perhaps I am using the wrong attribute name, but I can't find out what it might be. Any ideas, folks?

    I have the following xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Area xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <Scenes> <Scene Index="1" Name="Scene1" /> <Scene Index="2" Name="Scene2" /> </Scenes> </Area> Which i am trying to parse with jquery: <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "list.xml", dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { $(xml).find('scenes').each(function(){ $(this).find('scene').each(function(){ var name = $(this).attr('name'); $('<div class="items" ></div>').html('<p>'+name+'</p>').appendTo('#page-wrap'); }); }); } }); }); </script> Why is this not working? Help!! first attempt at javascript/jquery This is based on a example I found, but have so far been unable to adapt it to my usage. / Lars
