• Visio 2010 forward engineer add-in for office 2010

  I have been scouring the internet for ages trying to see if there was a usable add-on for Visio 2010 that could export SQL Scripts. MS stopping putting that functionality in Visio since 2003 – which is a huge shame. Today I found an open source project from Alberto Ferrari. It’s an add-in for Visio 2010 that allows you to generate SQL Scripts from your DB diagram.   There are times when working on my programming projects, and I get to a point where I'm ready to move on to the next part of my program. However, when I sit down to implement this new feature I get stuck, in a sense. It's not that I don't know how to implement the feature, it's that I get stuck on figuring out the best way to implement said feature. So I sit back for a day or two and let the ideas ferment until I am comfortable with a design. I get worried that I may not write something as well as it could be, or that I might have to go back and rework the whole thing; so I put it off. This is a big reason why I've never really finished many personal projects. Anyone else experience this, and how do you keep your self moving forward in your project?

• ubiquity "hangs" after hitting first "forward" button

  I've been trying to install Ubuntu but, no matter what I try (wifi connected, wifi not connected, disk blank, disk prepartitioned...), it just "hangs" at the first window (pick your language) with a non-stop hourglass after hitting "forward". This is on a Stinkpad T42. Shouldn't ubiquity at least tell me what's going on? I tried to find a log but /var/log/installer* isn't present. Initiating ubiquity from command line doesn't provide any debug info either. Even when using --debug or other combinations.

  In my GoDaddy DNS manager, I made some A Record that points to *.mirror for my domain Now when I access URL 123.mirror.mydomain.com from the browser I can see that my app is loaded, and its all OK. My problem now is when doing a CNAME point to the URL above on another domain like this: Accessing 123.otherdomain.com which I expect to "forward to" 123.mirror.mydomain.com I only get this 404 error: The IP 173.194.71.121 is actually ghs.googlehosted.com What I am missing here? Why 123.otherdomain.com which points to 123.mirror.mydomain.com cannot open that page and I think google is handing the web page request?

How can I do this without contacting my ISP (and is it even possible?; I don't care about paying for something that does this). Once I have the extra external IP address, how can I forward it to my VPS? How is my router supposed to differentiate between two separate external IP addresses?

Going forward, we will only release new StreamInsight versions through the Microsoft Download Center and only use MU to release service packs and security fixes (should any be needed). As a result of this decision, we are pulling off the recent StreamInsight 2.1 release from MU; this release is still available in Download Center. Don’t worry: there’s nothing wrong with the versions we’ve shipped in MU, we’ve just adjusted how we use MU. There is no action necessary from our customers as a result of this change, and we are not rolling back any changes to your current installation, so if you have installed StreamInsight 2.1 recently through the Microsoft Update, they will still work fine. • Internet Explorer keeps asking for NTLM credentials in Intranet zone

  Long text, sorry for that. I'm trying to be as specific as possible. I'm on Windows 7 and I experience a very frustrating Internet Explorer 8 behavior. I'm in a company LAN with some intranet servers and a proxy for connecting with the outside world. On sites that are clearly recognized as being "Local Intranet" (as indicated in the IE status bar) I keep getting "Windows Security" dialog boxes that ask me to log in. These pages are served off an IIS6 with "Integrated Windows Security" enabled, NTFS permits Everyone:Read on the files themselves. If I enter my Windows credentials, the page loads fine. However, the dialog boxes will be popping up the next time, regardless if I ticked "Remember my credentials" or not. (Credentials are stored in the "Credential Manager" but that does not make any difference as to how often these login boxes appear.) If I click "Cancel", one of two things can happen: Either the page loads with certain resources missing (images, styleheets, etc), or it does not load at all and I get HTTP 401.2 (Unauthorized: Logon Failed Due to Server Configuration). This depends on whether the logon box was triggered by the page itself, or a referenced resource. The behavior appears to be completely erratic, sometimes the pages load smoothly, sometimes one resource triggers a logon message, sometimes it does not. Even simply re-loading the page can result in changed behavior. I'm using WPAD as my proxy detection mechanism. All Intranet hosts do bypass the proxy in the PAC file. I've checked every IE setting I can think of, entered host patterns, individual host names, IP ranges in every thinkable configuration to the "Local Intranet" zone, ticked "Include all sites that bypass the proxy server", you name it. It boils down to "sometimes it just does not work", and slowly I'm losing my mind. ;-) I'm aware that this is related to IE not automatically passing my NTLM credentials to the webserver but asking me instead. Usually this should only happen for NTLM-secured sites that are not recognized as being in the "Intranet" zone. As explained, this is not the case here. Especially since half of a page can load perfectly and without interruption and some page's resources (coming from the same server!) trigger the login message. I've looked at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303650, which gives the impression of describing the problem, but nothing there seems to work. And frankly, I'm not certain if "manually editing the registry" is the right solution for this kind of problem. I'm not the only person in the world with an IE/intranet/IIS configuration, after all. I'm at a loss, can somebody give me a hint?

  I have Replicated Gluster Storage which is used by Auto scaling Servers. Both, Auto scaling and Storage are allocated in two Availability zones. Personally, I never tested single Server mount setup and I don't know how Gluster handles this. On EC2, traffic among single Availability zone is free and between different zones is not. When Client in zone A writes to storage and IP of Storage in zone B is returned, it will cost me twice more for data transfer: Client (Zone A) - Storage Server (Zone B) - Replication to Storage Server (Zone A). Question: Would it be better to mount Storage Server of the same zone, so that data transfer charges apply only for replication (A - A - B)?

  As an avid user of todo apps (currently Asana) is very much miss a way to easily forward an email from Postbox to my GTD app. Currently the workflow is: Click cmd/L to open the forward email window Type [email protected] in the To: address field Click the send button in the forward email window What I would like to have is an automator or applescript that does that for me. Ex: Highligh/select the mail I wish to convert to a task in Asana and the type a shortcut like ctrl/cmd/L to forward the mail to Asana. As most todo apps have custom email addresses you can use to convert an email into a task, the only thing that needs to be changed is the email address in the script. For Asana this would not be necessary because the email address for converting an email into a taks is the same for all Asana users.

  Hello, I have to manage two domains : compagny.com copagny.bigcompagny.com I use Bind9 on Debian Lenny. I want to use one Zone file for both domains. If I ask for server.compagny.com, it will give me address 10.0.0.1 If I ask for server.compagny.bigcompagny.com, it will give me the same address 10.0.0.1 I don't want to create twice the same files for my DNS Server : Too hard to maintain. • Packets marked INVALID in FORWARD rule

  I have a firewall that has 3 IP aliases on 1 physical interface. Packets get dropped between these 3 interfaces (either ICMP, HTTP, or anything else). We tracked it down to these packets being marked INVALID in the FORWARD rule and dropped due to the this rule: chain FORWARD { policy DROP; # connection tracking mod state state INVALID LOG log-prefix 'INVALID FORWARD DROP: '; mod state state INVALID DROP; mod state state (ESTABLISHED RELATED) ACCEPT; } (That is, we see the INVALID FORWARD DROP logs in dmesg) What could be causing this?

The problem is that certain mails in which I'm a CC (about 1000/day monitoring system running status) are also forwarded to my Gmail and fill up my account very quickly. I have set up rules in Outlook to move those emails to a certain folder (called Monitored_Emails), but I don't know how to filter those emails so they don't forward to Gmail. • Where is the iPhone's Date & Time getting it's time zone list

  I can get a list of time zones with [NSTimeZone knownTimeZoneNames], but that only gives the time zone IDs which include one or 2 cities in each time zone. The Date & Time settings has a great list of cities and I have seen a few other apps that have the same if not similar lookup lists. Where do these lists come from?? I do need to relate a picked city to it's time zone like Date & Time does. Thanks, John
