  • Java & Maven generating -and using- my own archetype

    Hello again! I have been busy in my project creating a webapp (in struts) that manages maven, using maven-2.2.1-uber.jar link text. The problem comes when the boss says it has to use some archetypes the company has created (so no predefined archetypes for you naughty boy!). So ok, I use the -DarchetypeRepository option (with ServletWrapper I get my complete web direction, becouse the repository will be inside the app), and the log seems to find it, but then the build fails -miserably- with this little text 'Build Failure - The defined artifact is not an archetype' as simple as that. Of course I have a lot of INFO lines that say abslutily nothig related. I have read the maven definitive guide searching for some kind of help, but it has been disapointing at best. My thoughts are thatmaybe I am missing in somewhere of all the folders tree some xml that actually sais maven that my pom.xml is an archetype not a project. But I really, really, can't find anything on the net or in the manuals that explains easy-handed how the archetype:generate (with special parameters) works and where I have to put every folder and/or file. So just to say my thoughts aloud (and hopefully you understand what I am trying to ask): I have a template where I do some xml changes (variables, etc...), then I have to call maen and do an archetype:generate with a variable project. The problem seems to be that my actual confuguration doesn't like what I am doing. After the generation of the archetype, witch luckly will create some directory trees and leave me a POM.xml somewhere I still have to do some variable changes and more xml manage stuff, so it whould be very kind from maven to don't destroy anything in this process. Any ideas why this maven-thing is not happly-ever-after asuming that my archetype is defintly an archetype? Allthought I think the code is ok, it could be wrong, as I am using maven-ubber and I call the actual CSMavenCli.main(String[, ClassWorld), I don't think it is the case this time.     Hi, I'm new to MySQL, I am trying to create a text file using a stored procedure. I'm currently at the stage where I have a temporary table that contains all of the records that I want to output to a text file. I have the following line at the end of my SP, it works in PHPMYAdmin's query but it does not work when part of a stored procedure the code is as follows: SELECT * into outfile '../../htdocs/VIP/Temp/temp.txt' from tmp_Menu2; note that tmp_Menu2 is a table that only includes one field of type VARCHAR(1000) Any help would be greathly appreciated. Route - routes.MapRoute( "Blog", // Route name "Blog/{d}/{m}/{y}", // URL with parameters, new { controller = "Blog", action = "Retrieve" } Generates - http://localhost:2875/Blog/12/1/2010 From - <%=Html.ActionLink("Blog Entry - 12/01/2010", "Retrieve", "Blog", new { d = 12, m = 01, y = 2010 }, null)%> If I add constraints like so. routes.MapRoute( "Blog", // Route name "Blog/{d}/{m}/{y}", // URL with parameters, new { controller = "Blog", action = "Retrieve" }, new { d = @"\d{2}", m = @"\d{2}", y = @"\d{4}" } It generates - http://localhost:2875/Blog/Retrieve?d=12&m=1&y=2010 Extra information: it is added before the custom route.     Anyone familiar with error below? When I run my webapp to generate a dynamic excel doc from my local machine it works fine but when the same piece of code is invoked on the server I get the below error.     I have an object that has a multi-part key and I am struggling to find a suitable way override GetHashCode. An example of what the class looks like is. public class wibble{ public int keypart1 {get; set;} public int keypart2 {get; set;} public int keypart3 {get; set;} public int keypart4 {get; set;} public int keypart5 {get; set;} public int keypart6 {get; set;} public int keypart7 {get; set;} public single value {get; set;} } Note in just about every instance of the class no more than 2 or 3 of the keyparts would have a value greater than 0. Any ideas on how best to generate a unique hashcode in this situation? I have also been playing around with creating a key that is not unique, but spreads the objects evenly between the dictionaries buckets and then storing objects with matched hashes in a List< or LinkedList< or SortedList<. Any thoughts on this?

I'd like to generate permutation in the below order 1,1,1,1 1,1,1,0 1,1,0,1 1,1,0,0 1,0,1,1 1,0,1,0 1,0,0,1 1,0,0,0 Let's w=[1,2,3,4] for item A,B,C,D ... and max_weight = 4. For each permutation, if the accum weight has exceeded max_weight, stop calculation for that permutation, move to next permutation. For eg. 1,1,1 --> 6 > 4, exceeded, stop, move to next 1,1,1 --> 6 > 4, exceeded, stop, move to next 1,1,0,1 --> 7 > 4 finished, move to next 1,1,0,0 --> 3 finished, move to next 1,0,1,1 --> 8 > 4, finished, stop, move to next 1,0,1,0 --> 4 finished, move to next 1,0,0,1 --> 5 > 4 finished, move to next 1,0,0,0 --> 1 finished, move to next [1,0,1,0] is the best combination which does not exceeded max_weight 4 My questions are What's the algorithm which generate the required permutation? Or any suggestion I could generate the permutation? As the number of element can be up to 10000, and the calculation stop if the accum weight for the branch exceeds max_weight, it is not necessary to generate all permutation first before the calculation. How can the algo in (1) generate permutation on the fly?

  • Generating a reasonable ctags database for Boost

    I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and I ran the command: $ ctags -R --c++-kinds=+p --fields=+iaS --extra=+q -f ~/.vim/tags/stdlibcpp /usr/include/c++/4.2.4/ to generate a ctags database for the standard C++ library and STL ( libstdc++ ) on my system for use with the OmniCppComplete vim script. This gave me a very reasonable 4MB tags file which seems to work fairly well. However, when I ran the same command against the installed Boost headers: $ ctags -R --c++-kinds=+p --fields=+iaS --extra=+q -f ~/.vim/tags/boost /usr/include/boost/ I ended up with a 1.4 GB tags file! I haven't tried it yet, but that seems likes it's going to be too large to be useful. Is there a way to get a slimmer, more usable tags file for my installed Boost headers? Edit Just as a note, libstdc++ includes TR1, which has allot of Boost libs in it. So there must be something weird going on for libstdc++ to come out with a 4 MB tags file and Boost to end up with a 1.4 GB tags file.

  • Netbeans GUI editor generating its own incomprehensible code.

    When creating a new project in netbeans, if i select JAVA Desktop application, it creates some code which I DO NOT RECOGNISE AT ALL as what i had learnt in swing. It imports packages such as : org.jdesktop.application.SingleFrameApplication; also, the declaration for main() looks like this : public static void main(String[] args) { launch(DesktopApplication2.class, args); } This really does not make any sense to my knowledge of JFrame, JPanel etc.. If i try to code a netbeans application from scratch, i can write my own swing app BUT I CANNOT FIND THE GUI EDITOR. How do i bring the GUI editor when creating java application from scratch ? Can anyone explain to me this org.jdesktop.application.SingleFrameApplication and other classes ? Please help. This is really frustrating.

  • Sweave/R - Automatically generating an appendix that contains all the model summaries/plots/data pro

    I like the idea of making research available at multiple levels of detail i.e., abstract for the casually curious, full text for the more interested, and finally the data and code for those working in the same area/trying to reproduce your results. In between the actual text and the data/code level, I'd like to insert another layer. Namely, I'd like to create a kind of automatically generated appendix that contains the full regression output, diagnostic plots, exploratory graphs data profiles etc. from the analysis, regardless of whether those plots/regressions etc. made it into the final paper. One idea I had was to write a script that would examine the .Rnw file and automatically: Profile all data sets that are loaded (sort of like the Hmisc(?) package) Summarize all regressions - i.e., run summary(model) for all models Present all plots (regardless of whether they made it in the final version) The idea is to make this kind of a low-effort, push-button sort of thing as opposed to a formal appendix written like the rest of a paper. What I'm looking for is some ideas on how to do this in R in a relatively simple way. My hunch is that there is some way of going through the namespace, figuring out what something is and then dumping into a PDF. Thoughts? Does something like this already exist?

  • Avoid generating empty STDOUT and STDERR files with Sun Grid Engine (SGE) and array jobs

    I am running array jobs with Sun Grid Engine (SGE). My carefully scripted array job workers generate no stdout and no stderr when they function properly. Unfortunately, SGE insists on creating an empty stdout and stderr file for each run. Sun's manual states: STDOUT and STDERR of array job tasks will be written into dif- ferent files with the default location .['e'|'o']'.' In order to change this default, the -e and -o options (see above) can be used together with the pseudo-environment-vari- ables $HOME, $USER, $JOB_ID, $JOB_NAME, $HOSTNAME, and $SGE_TASK_ID. Note, that you can use the output redirection to divert the out- put of all tasks into the same file, but the result of this is undefined. I would like to have the output files suppressed if they are empty. Is there any way to do this?

Let's say for example, I have get from database a list of orders made today and genarate file for each order and later store each file on ftp. Ideally I would like to get follewing. Not quite sure how to get it. from(MyBean).to(Ftp) The problem and main question is how to generate multiple messages by custom bean (for example). I am not sure if splitter EIP is ok in this case because in my case I have not just one message to split, but I just have to generate and send many messages. http://camel.apache.org/splitter.html I hope, someone meet this problem before. If the task will be to generate just one file - everything is quite simple - you need just fill Exchange.OutMessage (or something like this). But what about multiple files - I really can't get, how to manage this situation. P.S. Sorry if this question is stupid. I am novice in Camel (working with it just for coupe weeks). It's a great tool. Actually, that's why I want to use in in the best way. Thanks a lot.
