Hey, does anyone know if there's any tools for generating nice uniform grammar representation diagrams like the ones on json.org?
Or am i stuck with visio/photoshop doing them by hand?
Hey, I have this problem, that scripts started at boot time from rc.local don't have environment variables (defined at /etc/profile.d/*) set at the time of their startup. What should I do ?
"su - lisak -c /opt/atlassian-jira-enterprise-4.1.1-standalone/bin/startup.sh"
"su - lisak -c /opt/aaa2/at-22/bin/startup.sh"
Hey,
just checked my Apache logs and stumbled upon this log:
Client denied by server configuration. What I found weird, are the different phpMyAdmin versions.
The IP is in Czech: http://whois.domaintools.com/188.120.221.206
Am I just too overcautious?
Hey Guys,
I have replaced my MacBook keyboard twice and I continue to have the same issue. When I press the ] n } key it just turns on Caps Lock. I really need these keys to code.

Hey,
I'm not a hardware person, so maybe someone here could help me. I ordered a PC from Dell that has "Serial ATA Raid 0 "Stripe"(7200RPM)Dual HDD" (2x500gb). However, I've just noticed that there's only one HD of 1TB (which is the default option when ordering). Should I be seeing two HDDs in "My Computer" or does the Raid0 setup simply improve performance rather than have (and display) two individual HDDs? How can I check if my computer does have a 'raid0' setup?
Thanks
Hey.
Recently I noticed that for many small PC cases hard drives are installed in vertical position while in midi tower and all bigger they are in horizontal position.
What impact on hdd (non SSD, just plain hdd with all mechanical parts inside) has vertical position/ Does it decrease life of hdd? Is it more prone to data errors?
Hey guys i'm using phpmyadmin (php & mysql) and i'm having alot of trouble linking the tables using foreign keys.
I'm getting negative values for the field countyId (which is the foriegn key). However it is linking to my other table fine and it's cascading fine.
So when I go to add data there will be a drop box for the CountyId and the values will look something like this,
" -1
1- "
Here is my alter statement,
ALTER TABLE Baronies
ADD FOREIGN KEY (CountyId)
REFERENCES Counties (CountyId)
ON DELETE CASCADE
Hey guys,
Soon I will have a brand new Geforce GTX 285 to replace my current 8800GT.
Will it be possible to move my 8800GT to another PCIX slot, put the GTX 285 into the primary slot and use the nVidia software to make the 8800GT do physics?
I have enough PCIX slots on my motherboard (4). The GTX 285 will take up 2, so the 8800GT should fit in the 3rd.
If anyone knows if this is possible, I would be grateful to be educated!
hey all, I'm trying to create a local user on a new ubuntu box my admin set up. I'm unable to change the password, I keep getting the error below. The user gets added to the shadow file but I can't get it to set a password. Any ideas? I've googled for over an hour :(
thanks!
admin@theserver:~$ sudo useradd jamz
[sudo] password for admin:
admin@theserver:~$ sudo passwd jamz
passwd: Authentication token manipulation error
passwd: password unchanged
admin@theserver:~$

Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone has any ideas on what's causing my pc to lockup at the splash screen on bootup for 1-3minutes. This ONLY happens on the first power up, subsequent reboots run fine.
Running on a Falcon II SSD
I did the customary move of files to another drive when i first formatted the ssd. The slow first boot only started happening recently.
Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone, first question around here.
I have a centos 5.2 server and running df -h i get this:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
672G -551M 638G 0% /
/dev/hda1 99M 12M 82M 13% /boot
tmpfs 2.0G 0 2.0G 0% /dev/shm
that space wasn't even near 10% usage the last time it showed a correct value, i'm at a loss with whats going on.
Thanks.
Hey guys
Was wondering if it was possible to have a USB to USB network for file transfer between two computers. As in there are two computers connected by a USB to USB connector and BOOM! Fast file transfer
Hey guys, I'm not too savvy with ASDM and it has been quite some time since I have done anything IOS so forgive me.
I am trying to forward port 3389 from 'any' on 'outside' (1.1.1.1) to an internal server (10.10.10.10). Can anybody give me the steps to do this using ASDM or IOS.
Thanks,
-Jason

Hey all,
First off, I'm a total amateur when it comes to Excel. I'd like to sum all the values in a column starting from a certain minimum value, but I don't want to give an upper bound because any value in the table will be appropriate for summing (minus the header of course) and I'd like to do it the "right" way instead of summing A2:A65535. Is this possible?
Thanks!
Hey,
I'm thinking about the architecture for a new Webserver. Would having Varnish as a cache in front of Nginx as a reverse-proxy and serving static files in front of apache for all heavy lifting be a good idea?
I'm going to run php and ruby on rails applications.
Will there be too much overhead passing php requests to apache through two other processes?
Thanks a lot!
Hey everybody!
I'm trying to count every SELECTS, UPDATES, INSERTs querys in my MySQL server. The main idea is to say, at the end of the day, "we had x querys today, being x1 selects, x2 inserts, etc".
How can i do it?
Thanks!!
Hey guys,
I use iStats Menu to monitor my network usage on OSX.
Is there a quick way to know which processes are using the network at any given moment?
Sometimes my downstream bandwidth will be at close to 100% and I'm not downloading anything... I assume it's OSX auto-update stuff, but I just want to be sure.
Hey all,
I want to move to Linux (Ubuntu more specifically) and also bought a new hard drive. What I'm not really sure about is if I put my old hard drive on an external case, then install Ubuntu on the new one and configure, etc... Can I easily access my old one (which is now an external hard drive)? Will I have no problems accessing my partitions? Thanks in advance.
Hey,
Is anyone running Zend Server under Daemontools?
I know I can use -D NO_DETACH to run apache under daemontools. But, I'm not sure if the other Zend Server components (monitor, lighthttpd, scd, jobqueue) have similar options.
(The end goal is "run Zend Server with service supervision", so upstart would be fine too. For reference, my servers are running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.)

Hey,
I'm having trouble with an onboard nvidia gigabit network, under times of heavy load on the network, I'm seeing this error logged:
"too many iterations (6) in nv_nic_irq"
I'm running Hadoop DFS over these NICs and I see checksum errors build up until the whole thing just fails.
I'm running the 2.6.26-2-amd64 kernel, and my initial research seems to imply its a problem with the forcedeth driver.
Has anyone run into this problem before?
Thanks in advance if anyone can help!
Ryan
