  • Set tag and hidden for objects on custom UITableViewCell

    I am re-using Apple's AdvancedTableViewCells example to create a custom, fast-scrolling tableview. Specifically, I am using their CompositeSubviewBasedApplicationCell method which draws the content on the tableviewcell with drawRect Everything works, but how do you hide a label or set the tag for a label or image using their method? Doing it this way is pretty new to me (without IB), so I apologize ahead of time if it's something easy.   • Why doesn't the Windows 7 volume mixer remember per-application levels for all applications?

    If I have the device's master level set to 50, and then lower an application level to 25; Once I close that application and reopen it, the volume levels should persist. The master level should remain at 50 and the application's at 25. This does happen for most applications. However, for one in particular, Napster, it does not. I subscribe to Napster's streaming service. I use the Napster desktop application to connect to that service. Every time that I open the Napster app, I have to adjust the application's volume level down in the volume mixer. When I open the app again after closing it, I have to do the same thing, the volume mixer is not remembering the set level. In fact. The level is reset back to 50, the same level as the device's master level. Has anyone else experienced this, with Napster or any other application? Is there a solution or is this a known issue?

    Bacula Version: 5.2.5 I have configured bacula to write volumes to disk, however bacula stops writing to the volume as soon as it reaches 2gb.     There are several ways how to toggle hidden files - via a shell command, or AppleScript, or Automator action, or even a Dashboard widget. All of them close and reopen Finder windows, which is quite annoying. On the other hand, for the Open File dialog one can easily toggle hidden files by pressing Command+Shift+Period. Is it possible to avoid relaunching Finder?

Maybe one of us will get a good answer...] I have used the "Windows 7 File Recovery" tool under Windows 8 to create system image backups to an external USB hard drive. I built a new Windows 8.1 machine, and I want to create my first system image backup of that machine to the same USB hard drive.   • Is it possible to convert striped logical volume to linear logical volume?

    I've a logical volume that is striped across three physical volumes. I had to move this logical volume to another physical volume. This worked nicely with pvmove command. However, I discovered later that the logical volume is still striped and now all three stripes are on the same physical volume. Is there any way to convert striped logical volumes to linear logical volumes? I'm using LVM2 on linux. I figured that the obvious possibility is to rename the striped logical volume, create a new linear logical volume, and then copy data over, but that requires taking the filesystem system offline for some time. Unfortunately, I can't do that before the next week. Is there any better alternative?

  • How to Mirror or Clone a Spanned Volume in Windows 2008

    I have a spanned volume (3x6+ TB disks spanned to one 20+ TB volume) that I need to mirror or clone to a new 20+ TB (unspanned) volume. Once mirrored or cloned I'm going to destroy the original volume and reuse the storage elsewhere. Windows 2008 will not allow me to mirror it because the original is a spanned volume. I cannot simply copy the data, because there are sparse files on the volume. So the OS thinks there is 150+ TB used on the disk when there really is only around 18TB used physically. When I try to use the copy command it won't run because it thinks the destination volume needs to be 150+ TB to hold it all. A conundrum, but I figure someone here has the answer. Thanks, Matt

  • Too big a difference between Loud and Quiet when watching DVD's... constantly have to adjust volume.

    It is hard for me to find the right volume for my computer to watch my dvd's on because it seems like most reasonable volumes become overwhelming at the loudest parts of a movie and it is hard to even make out the dialog at the quietest parts. I find I'm constantly adjusting the volume during the course of a movie. Are there ways to make the difference between the louds and the quiets not so extreme? (both computer related solutions and non-computer related solutions welcome). Like moving my speakers across the room and increasing the volume? or the opposite? Or would would the extremes be less noticeable if I used headphones? Are there movie players that might have more complex sound adjustment features? If there is a software solution out there for linux that would be great too. Thanks, Dan

If all are hidden, it complains that it could not find any files. How can I configure Inno to search for hidden files using patterns?

    When I try to set the volume label for my FAT32 USB drive the normal way (using Windows Explorer or Disk Management), the filesystem just makes the label uppercase when applying it. Is it possible at all to set a mixed-case volume label on the drive on Windows? I know there may be no real reason for me to do that, but I'd really like to know.

    I want to extend my volume. However the unallocated space lies ahead of the volume. Is it possible to extend this volume without converting it to a dynamic volume?   • Exponential volume control with a specified midpoint

    I have a slider that returns values from 0 to 100. I am using this to control the gain of an oscillator. When the slider is at 0, I would like the gain to be 0.0 When the slider is at 50, I would like the gain to be 0.1 When the slider is at 100, I would like the gain to be 0.5 So I need to find an equation to get a smooth curve which passes through all of these points. I've got the following equation which gives an exponential curve and gets the start and end points correct, but I don't know how to force the curve through the middle point.
