I am using eAccelerator to cache my PHP opcodes. I have the disk cache set to /var/cache/eAccelerator. How can I limit the size of the cache? It's already grown to 1.5 GiB and keeps growing!

My office network has a fully switched 1000Megabit ethernet network. I have an Apple iMac with a Gigabit NIC and FireWire, and a Compaq laptop with a 100Megabit NIC and a 4-pin FireWire interface. Accessing my office's shared drives using my laptop is (obviously) much loswer using my laptop than my iMac. Would I see a…
This is related to this question I just asked...
I have two IP address on my iMac I want to "bridge". I'm not sure what the proper terminology is... here's the situation.
My iMac has a firewire connection to my laptop and an ethernet connection to the rest of my office. My laptop has an ip of 192.168.100.2 (on the…
I've set vsftpd up on a centos box. I keep trying to upload files but I keep getting "550 Failed to change directory" and "550 Could not get file size."
Here's my vsftpd.conf

I've finally got HA Proxy set up and running in a way I think I want. However, it is not load balancing the web requests it receives. All requests are currently being forwarded to the first server in the cluster. I'm going to paste my configuration below - if anyone can see where I may have gone wrong, I'd…
I'm running 10.6.2 and have been handed a couple of old files that need to be extracted. Old backups or finances or bills I believe. They are RAR files, and password protected. Is there a way to extract the hash from these files so I can feed it into John The Ripper or Cain and Abel?
Edit
I have…

I have a Compaq R4000 laptop with 2GB of RAM, running Ubuntu Linux 9.10. It is randomly locking up on me, approximately once every two days. I have a second partition with Windows XP Home installed, and I have had the system lock up in XP as well, meaning I believe this is a hardware issue. I have…
I've been assigned the task of getting our MontaVista Linux (2.6.21 kernel) running on Xen.
We'll be running Xen in -hvm- mode.
My Xen version is 3.4.0 (linux kernel 2.6.18) and am unable to run MontaVista Linux (kernel 2.6.21) in hvm mode.
Does anyone have suggestions?
Sometimes I can't, and sometimes I can. I want to be able to ?-Z after I accidentially delete a message. Or multiple messages. I want the Undo feature!
I'm making a simple website to host git repositories, much like github. I'm using Gittornado to handle git Smart HTTP requests, and it works perfectly locally; I can clone, push, pull, etc... But when I put it behind Nginx, git commands stop working, giving no errors except: "fatal: The remote…
The latest round of Patch Tuesday updates left my Windows XP computer unbootable. ("Fatal System Error: The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly.") After much messing around with the recovery console, an XP CD's repair mode, and manually copying registry files around,…
I have a Web app on Apache that allows users to point their domain to the server.
Right now I'm using Apache's dynamic mass virtual hosts with an entry

The problem is when…
I'm looking for an extension what will apply a specific stylesheets to specific websites. For example googlestyle.css would go with Google.com and superuserstyle.css would go with superuser.com.
I have a Soundblaster Recon 3d Fatal1ty sound card and randomly every once in a while my computer won't recognize it. I am almost 100% sure it is something to do with its PCIe slot. After I turn off the computer and just wiggle the card a bit, the computer recognizes the card once I restart.…
This is our company's internet gateway router. This is what I want to accomplish on our Cisco 2691 router:
All employees need to be able to have unrestricted access to the internet (I've blocked facebook with an ACL, but other than that, full access)
There is an internal webserver that…
I setup a MX mail server, everything works despite port 25 being blocked, I'm stumped as to why I am able to receive email with this setup, and what the consequences might be if I leave it this way. Here are the details:
Connections to SMTP over port 25 and 587 both reliably connect…
I was trying to install an update from NVIDIA for my GTX 560, but while it was installing, my computer shut off. After a few minutes, I turned it back on. It got to the Windows boot screen and then had a blue screen error and if left on it would just keep doing that.
A few details…
Looking to purchase a domain name separately from the package (using SliceHost and want a domain name) and I was wondering what is the best reseller to purchase from.
All the pricing for a yearly renewal is under $10, so price isn't an issue. I'm also not sure what else to be…
I am really surprised at this behavior. In Virtualmin, I can see the password for any SSH user by clicking the "(Show..)" link next to the "Password ( ) Leave unchanged" option in a variety of locations. I have found that the passwords for all users including users with SSH…
In a conversation with the network administator, I mentioned that my machine was a dual-core. He told me it was not. I brought up the task manager, went to the perfomance tab, and showed him that there are two separate CPU usage graphs. I have a quad-core machine at home…
Recently my laptop battery will get extremely hot (definitely hotter than it should get) when I charge it.
After that I usually end up removing it once it's fully charged to let it cool down, which takes a couple hours...
Question is, is my battery dead? My last battery I…
There are many excellent guides out there that explain how to dual-boot Windows 7 & 8. However, they are written for people starting with a Windows 7 installation and add a Windows 8 installation to separate partition.
From what I'm reading, following this procedure…
I'm sure a common problem with most shops is backups, their size, and the window in which you have to back up the data.
What we are working with:
VMware vSphere 4.1 Cluster
PS4000XV Equallogic Storage Array (1.6TB Volume dedicated for Backup to Disk)
