• PORT FORWARDING TO PUT MY WEB SERVER ON THE INTERNET

  I went to http://canyouseeme.org/ to check to see what my external IP address. Regardless of what port I enter, it tells me that the port is blocked. I have a LinkSys router that basically has the default settings with the exception that I have WEP encrptin setup and I have forwarded a few ports, including 80 and 69. I forwarded them to the 192.x.x.103 IP address of the PC which is running IIS. That PC runs Symantec Endpoint Protection, which I right mouse clicked in the tray to Disable. These steps used to make my PC visible so I could host my own web site in IIS on port 80, or some other port, like 69. Yet, the Open Port tool cannot see my IP when it checks eiether port and when I navigate to http://my external ip/ I get "page cant be displayed" At first I was thinking that maybe Comcast is blocking port 80, but 69 doesnt work eiether. I do not see any other blockking set up in my router and, as I mentioned, I went with teh defaults except where discussed. This is a corporate PC and Symantec End Point Protecion is new to it (this previously worked on teh same PC with Symantec Protection Agent), but I thought that disabling Sym End Pt from the tray, that that would effectively neutralize it. I do not have the rights to kill the program itself. Any suggestions on what else to try to make my PC externally visible?

  I have a server that we'll call hub-server.tld with three IP addresses 100.200.130.121, 100.200.130.122, and 100.200.130.123. I have three different machines that are behind a firewall, but I want to use SSH to port forward one machine to each IP address. For example: machine-one should listen for SSH on port 22 on 100.200.130.121, while machine-two should do the same on 100.200.130.122, and so on for different services on ports that may be the same across all of the machines. The SSH man page has -R [bind_address:]port:host:hostport listed I have gateway ports enabled, but when using -R with a specific IP address, server still listens on the port across all interfaces: machine-one: # ssh -NR 100.200.130.121:22:localhost:22 [email protected] hub-server.tld (Listens for SSH on port 2222): # netstat -tan | grep LISTEN tcp 0 0 100.200.130.121:2222 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 :::22 :::* LISTEN tcp 0 0 :::80 :::* LISTEN Is there a way to make SSH forward only connections on a specific IP address to machine-one so I can listen to port 22 on the other IP addresses at the same time, or will I have to do something with iptables? • Opening and Testing Ports on Modem > Router Connection

  Working off of my last question, I can access my server's FTP over the LAN but not over the internet. I'm using Filezilla on port 666. My router/modem configuration is as such (similar to other post): 1) Modem connects to WAN 2) WAN port on modem connects to LAN port on Router 3) Modem internal IP address is 192.168.0.254 4) Router internal IP address is 192.168.0.1 5) Modem has DHCP turned OFF 6) Router has DHCP turned ON 7) Router is running Tomato firmware and it's set as 'Router' (not 'Gateway') 8) The internet is working (just had to say that) I've set up port forwarding both on the modem and router - both route port 666 to the IP address of 192.168.0.3 (TCP); that is the IP address of the server which has FileZilla running. I don't know if that's hindering anything but I've also tried it with just the modem and just the router...same result. I've also tried setting the server to be DMZ (both on router and modem). Neither router nor modem have anything in their logs about denying inbound traffic on port 666 so my ability to troubleshoot stops there. I've tried contacting my ISP (Telus, running on mobility plan...it's a "Smart" Hub) but they weren't much help. They said they only block port 25 and 80 and maybe a few others, but not most ports. I test whether or not the port is open by going to canyouseeme.org - I don't know whether or not that would produce a 'connection refused' result just based on the fact that the FTP requires a login...I'm not well versed on this matter. FWIW, sometimes I get a 'connection refused' error on canyouseeme.org but mostly it's 'connection timed out'. I don't know what else to do at this point.

  So i'm hosting my own svn server and also have wamp running on the same machine. I have forwarded port 443 which the svn server is listening on. I can't seem to login when i simply forward the port, if i make the server a DMZ host then i can log in via https://mydomain.com, but i can't seem to figure out why simply forwarding port 443 doesn't work. Any ideas ? I checked online and it shows that port as stealth.

  Using the "netsh interface portproxy" I added a port forwarding to a Windows Server 2k3. The command "netsh interface portproxy show all" shows the added forwarding. On the other hand, any client connecting to the incoming port will receive a "connection refused" message. netstat also doesn't show the incoming port as listening. The machine firewall is disabled. There is any other way to setup port forwarding on Windows or debugging tips?

  Right now I have a server running on IP:Port. If I wanted to use DNS but redirect to the port, how would I do so? I've heard that it's possible, but how would I do so, even if it includes creating something such as a proxy? For example, visiting: domain.tld would instead access IP:Port and the port could be anything I wanted it to be. If no direct solution exist, how would I go along using a "VirtualHost"?

  I am having trouble getting JBoss started. I am running JBoss 5.1.0 on Mac OSX (yes, I know it is an old version, but that’s what the application is certified on for now).   I am trying to add a service reference to axapta 2009. All is working well, its a simple web method(external webservice) that gets executed on the server tier(necessary, otherwise clr interop error) But I've ran into the following problems : is it possible to close the proxy one way or another? Because this option is not available in the generated service object in AX (only the webmethods and a tostring). at a certain moment, i ran into a service with faulted state. Normally, you create the service object again, but this didnt solve anything, until i restarted the AOS. Is this normal behaviour? Is the service object cached or something like that on server side?   I am working with Delphi 2009 Pro and just tried to find out why code completion is so slow in my setup. Whenever code completion is invoked, the IDE locks up for up to 30s, which really interrupts any workflow. When working with BDS 2006, code completion was incredibly fast compared to Delphi 2009. After reading this post it seems to be normal for Delphi 2009, but just turning off the automatic code completion is not anything I want to do. My question is: If I switch to Delphi 2010, will I have the same slow speed for code completion or was it improved to a point to be usable?

• Why is port 444 open on this router?

  I have a Cisco RV110W. I ran nmap at it from the outside and nmap reports that the router has tcp port 444 open. Yet there are no port forwarding rules specifying this port. It should as far as I can tell, be closed. There's even a service listening to that port which I can connect to through telnet. I threw some SNPP commands at it but the service doesn't respond to any of them so I don't believe it's SNPP. Does anyone have any idea why this particular router has tcp port 444 open? I haven't been able to find anything in the manual or on Cisco's website.

  I have IIS set up on my server, but also Apache x2 (other products which comes with their own servers, cannot be integrated into IIS.) Is it possible for me to "port-forward" certain domains on port 80 (that IIS handles) to those other ports? For instance: www.vkarlsen.no - IIS svn.vkarlsen.no - port 81 on same machine teamcity.vkarlsen.no - port 82 on same machine Or do I just need to set up those domains and redirect to the correct port? I'd like the domain name and url to be transparent to the user, but perhaps that won't work. Can anyone shed some light on this?

  I've vnc-java running on an Ubuntu box, with the IP address 192.168.1.68, using port 5800 (because port 5900 is being used for normal VNC). If I connect to 192.168.1.68:5800 using another computer on the network, I can use VNC fine. Using www.whatismyip.com, I find out what my IP address from the outside world is, and if I go directly to that, I get to access my modem/router. If I try to navigate to that IP address, with ':5800' on the end, I get a "This web page is not available." error. I have port forwarding set up in the router as follows: Application Name External Packet Internal Host IP Address Protocol Port IP Address Port VNC ALL TCP/UDP 5800 192.168.1.68 5800 What else do I need to do to get this to work?

I inclined to consider this a dbExpress bug. That is what Delphi 2009 Help says: The interpretation of Size depends on the data type. The meaning of Size for data types that use it is given in the following table. For all other data types, Size is not used and its value is always 0. ftString - Size is the maximum number of characters in the string. I am using FibPlus 6.9.9 and it follows the above documentation - the string field size is the maximum number of characters, not bytes. So the question also implies the following question: Are DbExpress drivers in Delphi 2009 unusable for unicode databases?

  Hello. I am using port forwarding to utilize proxy server which is on remote machine. Remote machine hostname is remotemachine. Proxy is listening on 8118 port. I am translating this port to local port 5223. ssh -vvv -N remotemachine -L 5223:localhost:8118 Everything is fine if I don't use more than 10 simultaneous connections, when ssh just freezes. It no longer send data trough port forwarding. I.e. ab -c 10 -t 5 -X 'localhost:5223' 'http://www.google.ru/' works, but ab -c 20 -t 5 -X 'localhost:5223' 'http://www.google.ru/' causes ssh to freeze MaxSessions 30 parameter in /etc/ssh/sshd_config didn't helped at all. What can I do to remove this 10 connection limit? Nothing interesting in -vvv output =(

• esxi change MKS port

  I need to connect to my home esxi box over the web however I cannot use the default port 902 for the console viewer due to firewall restrictions. Is there a way to change this port somewhere even if i can just do some nat and redirect any other port to that port? I've had a look around and when I try to connect to the esxi server in vSphere client I cant find anywhere I can specify the port. I know this is not the recommended way to do this but its a testing server and security is not an absolute must on this box. I also cannot setup a vpn to this box.
