  • AjaxControlToolkit JavaScript is not pointing correctly on IIS7 running behind Apache mod_proxy

    So here's my setup. I've got a DynDNS account since I have a dynamic IP. I have Apache listening on port 80 and IIS7 on port 8080. I don't want users to have to enter in mydyndns.dyndns.com:8080 to get to IIS7, so I've added the following code to my Apache httpd.conf file to enable a proxy/reverse proxy: <VirtualHost *:80> ProxyPass / http://localhost:8080/myASPSite/ ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:8080/myASPSite/ ServerName myaspsite.mydomain.com </VirtualHost> I've got a CNAME record set up on my DNS so that myaspsite.mydomain.com redirects to mydyndns.dyndns.com. When I type in myaspsite.mydomain.com into my browser, everything works beautifully... mostly. IIS7 serves up the ASPX pages and visitors to the site don't know any better. A problem arises, however, when I add Ajax Control Toolkit controls into my ASPX website, because these generate JavaScript and apparently mod_proxy_html isn't geared to handle the JS URIs properly. Sure enough, when I open up the source of my ASPX page, it has script elements as follows: <script src="/myASPSite/WebResource.axd?xyz" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/myASPSite/ScriptResource.axd?xyz" type="text/javascript"></script> Sure enough, these scripts are attempting to be resolved at http://myaspsite.mydomain.com/myASPSite/WebResource..., which through the proxy translates to localhost:8080/myASPSite/myASPSite/.... How can I solve this problem. The couple of websites I found suggested turning on ProxyHTMLExtended but when I tried doing that, the server did not start. I'm guessing I didn't know how to do it properly. Anyone has a handy couple of config lines that I can add to my Apache conf file to get this working as I need? I'm using Apache 2.2.11. Thanks!

  • Setting up AJP with JBoss 7

    I have two different versions of JBoss on a server, JBoss 6.0 Final and JBoss 7.0.2. I can one run or the other by switching a couple of sym links and issuing a "service jboss start" command. I am, by no means, an expert in JBoss, however JBoss 6.0 appears to have AJP running out of the box with no initial configuration required on port 8009. With JBoss 7, however, I had to vi the file "standalone/configuration/standalone.xml" and add a few entries. Those entries are: In the <subsystem /> tag, I added: <connector name="ajp" protocol="AJP/1.3" socket-binding="ajp" /> In the <socket-binding-group /> tag I added: <socket-binding name="ajp" port="8009"/> Then in Apache's configuration file (httpd.conf), I added: <Proxy *> AddDefaultCharset Off Order deny,allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass /app ajp://localhost:8009/app ProxyPassReverse /app ajp://localhost:8009/app AJP proxying works with 6, not with 7... I assume it's because I haven't properly set up AJP in JBoss 7 and not entirely sure how to do that. I have searched documentation on their site with not a lot of specifics on how to do so. Any help or insight into setting up AJP with JBoss 7 would be much appreciated!!

  • Cannot connect on TFS 2012 server through SSL with invalid certificate

    I saw the problem on some forums and even here, but not as specific as mine. So here's the thing, So I've configured a TFS 2012 server, on one of my personnel server at home, and now, I'm trying to make it available through the internet, with the help of apache2 on a different UNIX based, physical server. The thing is working perfectly, I don't have any problem accessing the address https://tfs.something.com/tfs through my browser. The address can be pinged and I do have access to the TFS control panel through it. How does it work? Well, with apache2 you can set a virtual host and set up the ProxyPass and ProxyPassReserver setting, so the traffic can externally comes from a secure SSL connection, through a specified domain or sub-domain, but it can be locally redirect on a clear http session on a different port. This is my current setup. As I already said, I can access the web interface, but when I'm trying to connect with Visual Studio 2012, it can't be done. Here's the error I receive: http://i.imgur.com/TLQIn.png The technical information tells me: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. My SSL certificate is invalid and was automatically generated on my UNIX server. Even if I try to add it in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities either on my TFS server or on my local workstation, it doesn't work. I still receive the same error. Is there's a way to completely ignore certificate validation? If not, what's have I done? I mean, I've added the certificate in the trusted root certificates, it should works as mentioned on some forums... If you need more information, please ask me, I'll be pleased to provide you more. I think, I need to setup iptables FORWARDING options, but I don't know how. update: I have 1 server with 1 IP. On server I have apache2.2 on 80 port. Also I have tomcat6 on 8901 port. In apache I setup to forwarding domain wiki.mysite.com to tomcat (mysite.com:8901). I want to secure my server by disabling all ports, except 80, 22 and 443.

  • Apache2, Tomcat6, and proxy redirects

    So here is my question - go easy and slow. I'm a GIS Consultant and general hack with linux. I inherited this volunteer job essentially because I knew more than the rest of the team - or the rest of the team isn't as stubborn as I am... With that said a number of people have been mucking around in the server before I got involved so I've been cleaning up a lot of things. The domain names have been changed to protect the innocent. I have a server running Apache2 (port 80) and tomcat6 (8080) running on ubuntu server 10.4. There is a virtual host on Apache2 called "Runner" (the domain is runner.org). I have mod_proxy loaded. I am trying to redirect everyone that visits runner.org to http://some.ip.address:8080/openrunner-webapp/ So far I've gotten runner.org assigned to the apache2 server. Someone set up a redirect in the httpd.conf file but I believe it needs to go into the virtualhost. I tried setting the redirect in the virtualhost as: *ProxyPass / http://localhost:8080/openrunner-webapp All that does is show me the root of the Apache webserver. Anyway I'm stuck

  • Apache 2 proxy for Tomcat 7

    Following the how-to, I wanted to make a proxy for traffic to the address /app to be processed by Tomcat 7. I added this to my httpd.conf: LoadModule proxy_module {path-to-modules}/mod_proxy.so LoadModule deflate_module modules/mod_deflate.so ProxyPass /app http://localhost:8081 ProxyPassReverse /app http://localhost:8081 I also have this on my server.xml: <Connector port="8081" enableLookups="false" acceptCount="100" connectionTimeout="20000" proxyName="localhost" proxyPort="80"/> And I have the folder /var/lib/tomcat7/webapps/app with my application files. I restarted both Tomcat 7 and Apache 2 after doing the configurations above. Problem: When navigating to my webpage.com/app, I get the error 500. I consulted apache logs, it says: [warn] proxy: No protocol handler was valid for the URL /app. If you are using a DSO version of mod_proxy, make sure the proxy submodules are included in the configuration using LoadModule. Update: This is running in ubuntu. I resolved this by adding LoadModule proxy_http_module modules/mod_proxy_http.so to my httpd.conf. Now I have another question: How can I make this proxy to work on SSL through port 443?

    I am trying to set up mod_proxy_balancer for routing requests to 2 jboss7-servers. For the time being I am testing this setup on my local machine, using following config in httpd.conf: ProxyRequests Off <Proxy \*> Order deny,allow Deny from all </Proxy> ProxyPass / balancer://mycluster/ stickysession=JSESSIONID|jsessionid scolonpathdelim=On <Proxy balancer://mycluster> BalancerMember http://localhost:8080 route=node1 BalancerMember http://localhost:8081 route=node2 Order allow,deny Allow from all </Proxy> and in the standalone.xml file of each jboss I have defined the jvmRoute system property: <system-properties> <property name="jvmRoute" value="node1"/> </system-properties> At http:// localhost/myapp the application is accessible but the java-session is not build up correctly. Consequently the authentication is not working. The funny thing is, that everything is working if I turn off one JBoss-instance. As I have tried a couple of settings already, I am thankful for any further suggestions.

  • Forward Apache to Django dev server

    I'm trying to get apache to forward all requests on port 80 to 127.0.0.1:8000, which is where the django dev server runs. I think I have it forwarding properly, but there must be an issue with 127.0.0.1:8000 not being run by apache? I'm running the django dev server in an ubuntu vmware instance, and I'd other people in the office to see the apps in development without having to promote anything to our actual dev/staging servers. Right now the virtual machine picks up an IP for itself, and when I point a browser to that url with the defualt apache config, I get the default apache page. I've since changed the httpd.conf file to the following to try and get it to forward the requests to the django dev server: ServerName localhost <Proxy *> Order deny,allow Allow from all </Proxy> <VirtualHost *> ServerName localhost ServerAdmin [email protected] ProxyRequests off ProxyPass * http://127.0.0.1:8000 </VirtualHost> All I get are 404s with this, and in error.log I get the following (192.168.1.101 is the IP of my computer 192.168.1.142 is the IP of the virtual machine): [Mon Mar 08 08:42:30 2010] [error] [client 192.168.1.101] File does not exist: /htdocs

  • eXist-db: can't start webstart client on a closed port, reverse proxied via apache

    I am configuring an Apache HTTP server so it reverse proxies requests starting with /app/ to an eXist-db instance running in a Tomcat server, on port 8082. This port has been closed in the firewall and is inaccessible to the outer world. Following the eXist documentation, I have following rules in place in my httpd.conf file: ProxyPass /apps/ http://localhost:8082/ ProxyPassReverse /apps/ http://localhost:8082/ ProxyPassReverseCookiePath /apps/ / All goes well for requests to e.g. 'http://mydomain/apps/exist/index.xml'. Yet, the webstart client (accessible at 'http://localhost:8082/exist/webstart/exist.jnlp' on the web server) doesn't work behind the proxy. While 'http://mydomain/apps/exist/webstart/exist.jnlp' does generate a valid exist.jnlp file, that file can't be executed. The reason seems quite obvious: apparently, the eXist-db instance generating the exist.jnlp file only sees the proxied request as: 'http://localhost:8082/exist/webstart/exist.jnlp'. Yet, since the exist.jnlp file is executed on the client, that reference is meaningless (unless the client computer happens to have an eXist-db instance running on that port). Executing the exist.jnlp file hence fails with a 'connection refused' error. Yet, there's no problem at all connecting a local eXist-db Java client to the proxied eXist instance with the URL xmldb:exist://mydomain/apps/exist/xmlrpc. The problem lies in generating the webstart exist.jnlp file, which seems to need access to a publicly accessible URL. However, opening port 8082 and replacing the Proxy references to 'http://localhost:8082' with 'http://mydomain:8082' IMO rather destroys the point of reverse proxying. Do others have had success reverse proxying eXist-db on a closed port behind Apache? Are there perhaps some Proxy configuration settings I have overlooked (I'm no expert at all) that can make eXist see the original request instead of the proxied one? Kind regards, Ron

    I am trying to use mod_proxy with httpd and tomcat. If I leave tomcat ajp to run on 8009 in the server.xml of tomcat and in the httpd.conf of apache httpd everything works great but once I change it to anything else and restart them both it does not work.. I trieded 8109,8209 and 8019.. only thing that works is 8009?   • Running WordPress and Ghost on Apache with mod_proxy

    I currently have three WordPress sites hosted on Apache with virtual host files to direct the right domain to the right DocumentRoot. Ghost (node.js) just came out and I've wanted to tinker with it and just play around on one of my spare domains. I'm not really interested in moving over to nginx so I'm trying to get Ghost working on Apache via mod_proxy. I've managed to get Ghost working on my spare domain, but I think there's a problem with my virtual host files, as all of my other domains start pointing to Ghost as well. Here are two virtual host files, one for my main WordPress site that works fine, and the second for Ghost. Domains removed and replaced with DOMAIN and DOMAIN2.     I know what proxy is (very high level), it's just I have never set up one, and it feels like I might be missing some big fat point here. My setup: client server (static IP), runs apache on port 80 proxy (has 2 network cards, one is on the clients network, the other one with a static IP on the server network), runs apache on port 80 I am trying to configure these three machines so that when client requests: http://proxy/machine1 It gets served server's pages at server root URL, i.e. http://server/ I can access client pages just fine. However, when I try accessing a page from the client machine, it simply gets redirected to server's IP address, which it clearly can't access since they are not on the same network: ... <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://server/machine1"></meta> <title>Redirect</title> ...     Hi @all, on a test server I have installed the latest version of Confluence. I configured a apache with ajp. But I have a problem, when I login in Confluence, I get the following error message: Not Found The requested URL / / homepage.action was not found on this server. The problem seems to be known, I found following Link: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Using+Apache+with+virtual+hosts+and+mod_proxy But unfortunately the forwards have not helped, I still get the error messages. Does anyone have any idea how I could solve the problem?     I'm trying to setup an Apache reverse proxy using mod_proxy and modproxyperlhtml. This is my scenario: Domain for the proxy: http : // www.myserver.com/ Destination server (the one behind the proxy): http : // myserver.foo.com/myapp/ I'm sorry that I have to space the URL but serverfault doesn't allow me to post more than two links as "spam protection mechanism" (ridiculous on a site where you ask questions about servers and it's really probable to post more than two times the same URL's to explain your question). The idea is to map http : // www.myserver.com/ to http : // myserver.foo.com/myapp/ . Note that the path on the proxy is / and on the destination server is /myapp/. All of the examples I can find on the net (like the one on the official documentation of modproxyperlhtml) are the other way around, ie. path on the proxy /myapp/ and path on the destination server /. With this configuration the links aren't being replaced as they should be, my guess is that the location isn't being found, thus the rewrite rules aren't being applied.     i need to secure two different sites in apache. One of them should only be a proxy for a different server which is running on port 8069.   • Apache Reverse proxy Http to https

    I have a website which is fully running on Https. For some reason i did get the task to find a way to convert a url for example: http://www.domain.com/a/e-nc/youless to a https version of it, without losing HTTP POST header such as the POST values which are in it. So i thought (not even sure) let's try to make a reversed proxy in apache and see how that works. Anyway after a lot of struggling i came to the point to ask it here. So to be speicific my goal is: Convert the http://www.domain.com/a/e-nc/youless to https://www.domain.com/a/e-nc/youless without losing the POST conditions. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /.   • Using gitlab behind Apache proxy all generated urls are wrong

    I've set up Gitlab on Ubuntu 12.04 using the default package from https://about.gitlab.com/downloads/ {edit to clarify} I've set up Apache to proxy and run the nginx server the package installed on port 8888 (or so I thought). As I had Apache installed already I have to run nginx on localhost:8888. The problem is, all images (such as avatars) are now served from http://localhost:8888, and all the checkout urls Gitlab gives are also localhost - instead of using my domain name. If I change /etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb to use that url, then Gitlab stops working and gives a 503. Any ideas how I can tell Gitlab what URL to present to the world, even though it's really running on localhost? /etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb looks like: # Change the external_url to the address your users will type in their browser external_url 'http://my.local.domain' redis['port'] = 6379 postgresql['port'] = 2345 unicorn['port'] = 3456 and /opt/gitlab/embedded/conf/nginx.conf looks like: server { listen localhost:8888; server_name my.local.domain; [Update] It looks like nginx is still listening on the wrong port if I don't specify localhost:8888 as the external_url. The problem is that I can only access to localhost:57173, when I tried accessing http://project.play:9999, Chrome returns "Oops! Google Chrome could not find project.play:9999".     I have a backend server running on http://10.0.2.20/ from the local network, which serves similar to this: / (root) | |_user1/ | |_www/ | |_private/ | |_user2/ |_www/ |_private/ (etc.) Accessing http://10.0.2.20/user1/ of course, contains 'www' and 'private' folders and is proxied through a public server using Apache's Reverse Proxy. I'd like it so the following happens: http://public-proxy-server/user1/ actually shows the content from http://10.0.2.20/user1/www/ without indicating it in the URL. (/private/ would not be accessible via the public proxy server). The key here, is for it to be dynamic, so all requests to http://public-proxy-server/*/should show content from http://10.0.2.20/*/www/.   • Node js server not responding outside localhost centos

    I'm running a basic express server from CentOS but for some reason it is not responding outside of localhost, I have tried everything I have found on google but nothing works so far. This is my express server: app.listen(3000,"0.0.0.0"); If I do curl http://localhost:3000/ in the server it works fine. If I curl to the ip of the server it doesn't work. I already changed my iptables num target prot opt source destination 1 ACCEPT tcp -- 0.0.0.0/0 0.0.0.0/0 tcp dpt:80 2 ACCEPT tcp -- 0.0.0.0/0 0.0.0.0/0 tcp dpt:80 3 ACCEPT tcp -- 0.0.0.0/0 0.0.0.0/0 tcp dpt:3000 There is currently a apache server running on port 80 with no problems. I also tried setting a VirtualHost on apache but it didn't work either: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName SubDOmain.MyDomain.com ProxyRequests off <Proxy *> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass / http://localhost:3000/ ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:3000/ ProxyPreserveHost on </VirtualHost> There is another virtual host working fine that redirects to another DocumentRoot. I'm running Node on root for testing purpose, but the node application owner is another user. All folders have 705 and files 664 Edit: I stopped apache and run my node app on port 80 and it working fine, I could access node app from my ip and domain.

  • Default /server-status location not inheriting in Apache

    I'm having a problem getting /server-status to work Apache 2.2.14 on Ubuntu Server 10.04.1. The default symlinks for status.load and status.conf are present in /etc/apache2/mods-enabled. The status.conf does include the location /server-status and appropriate allow/deny directives. However, the only vhost I have in sites-enabled looks like this. The idea is to proxy anything with a Tomcat URL to a cluster of tomcats, and anything else to an IIS box. However, this seems to result in requests to /server-status being sent to IIS. Copying the /server-status in explicitly to the Vhost configuration doesn't seem to help, no matter what order I use.   • Two servers, two domains, one ip. mod_proxy beginner

    I run two virtual web servers (both running apache2 on debian). I have just one external IP, but two domains, and I want a domain going to each of the servers. I've understood that I need a Reverse Proxy, and I enabled both the mod_proxy and the mod_proxy_http modules on the "primary server". Do I need to enable anything on the "secondary server"? I also understood that I need to write some things in a virtual host file, but what? On the primary server, I have a virtual host file for one of the domains, and some for subdomains. I want domain1.tld to go to the primary server (port 80 is forwarded to it, so that works) and domain2.tld to go to the other server (internal ip 192.168.0.x). No ports needs to be forwarded to it, right? So, what to add and in which virtual host file? Or a new one? Other questions suggest adding ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse, but I'm lost anyway, and I just don't understand the apache documentation. Thanks in advance
