  • JQuery JEditable stay in edit mode on error

    I'm successfully using jeditable to submit via a function using jQuery.ajax and the async : false option , but am having an issue aborting if an error is returned. How can I get the edit box to stay activated and / or revert back to the original value if there are errors? I'm returning http status codes. so something like async : false .ajax submit here... if (xhr.status == 200) { return value; else { alert ('returned error'); // keep edit box activated but available for another try, or revert back to original value } I tried not returning a value from the function, which keeps the edit box activated and ready for another submit, but then the ESC key doesn't work anymore and if I click outside the edit area, the edit box stays.   • Windows Server 2008 Create Symbolic Link, updated Security Policy still gives privilege error

    Windows Server 2008, RC2. I am trying to create a symbolic/soft link using the mklink command: mklink /D LinkName TargetDir e.g. c:\temp\>mklink /D foo bar This works fine if I run the command line as Administrator. However, I need it to work for regular users as well, because ultimately I need another program (executing as a user) to be able to do this. So, I updated the Local Security Policy via secpol.msc. Under "Local Policies" "User Rights Management" "Create symbolic links", I added "Users" to the security setting. I rebooted the machine. It still didn't work. So I added "Everyone" to the policy. Rebooted. And STILL it didn't work. What on earth am I doing wrong here? I think my user is even an Administrator on this box, and running plain command line even with this updated policy in place still gives me: You do not have sufficient privilege to perform this operation.

  • Updated my WAMP Server and MySQL is eating up 580mB of memory

    I updated my dev-box's WAMPSERVER, and along with updating PHP and Apache, MySQL updated to '5.6.12'. After doing that, I copied the data folder from my old (5.1.36) install to the new one and now MySQL takes up 580mB which is way too much, since I'm the only person using it (Locally) and there are only 20 or so databases on it, none of which have 'memory' tables. How can I get this down to a decent amount?   • Paperclip: Stay put on edit

    When a user edits something in my application, they're forced to re-upload their image via paperclip even if they aren't changing it. Failing to do so will cause an error, since I validate_presence_of :image. This is quite annoying. How can I make it so Paperclip won't update its attributes if a user simply doesn't supply a new image on an edit? The photo controller is fresh out of Rails' scaffold generator.   • "Zend Optimizer not installed" after I updated to Ubuntu 10.04

    Hi guys, I've just updated from 9.10 to 10.04. Everything seems to run fine except for zend optimizer which is throwing "Zend Optimizer not installed" error. I went to php.ini and the following line is still there Code: zend_extension=/etc/php5/ZendOptimizer.so Also I checked that the file does exist and that the php.ini I am looking at is in fact the php.ini file that is being used by the server.   • Added user to CentOS, Updated sshd_config with AllowUsers, Login denied

    CentOS 5.3. I can SSH into the system as root just fine. Added a user and set their password. They have shell access (/bin/bash). I can su to the account from root just fine. I updated /etc/ssh/sshd_config with: AllowUsers myNewUser And restarted sshd: /etc/init.d/sshd restart When trying to ssh into the server with the new user, I get a permission denied. And yes, I've double and triple checked that I am using the correct password. Any help is appreciated.

    Question for anyone out there managing a network of openSUSE machines. How do you keep track of and apply updates? I know about YaST Online Update (YOU) but it seems more geared towards keeping a single machine up to date. It doesn't seem to scale well to a larger number of machines. How do you keep your machines updated? Our network is fairly heterogenous in terms of package installation as the servers are mostly infrastructure machines with varying roles. I know that SUSE Linux Enterprise has tools to manage updates network-wide, but updating to that is currently not an option for budget reasons.

  • SharePoint Discussion Board "Last updated" field is not updated any more.

    On of our SharePoint users informed me today about a strange behavior of a discussion board on one of his sites. Normally the standard "subject" view of an discussion list has a field named "Last updated" showing the date and time of the last post within the corresponding thread. On the discussion board of our user this field is never set to the date/time of the last post but stays on the date/time when the thread was started. The site on which the discussion board is located was created from a custom web site template which includes the empty discussion board. To narrow this problem I created a second discussion board on the same site, with the result that it sets the Last updated field correctly. Any suggestions why the Last updated field doesn't update any more?

    Is there a way to actually get the column name that was updated in order to use it in a trigger?     Hello, I would like to use a trigger on table which will be fired every time a row is inserted, updated, deleted. I wrote something like this: CREATE or REPLACE TRIGGER test001 AFTER INSERT OR DELETE OR UPDATE ON tabletest001 REFERENCING OLD AS old_buffer NEW AS new_buffer FOR EACH ROW WHEN (new_buffer.field1 = 'HBP00') and it works. Since I would like to do the same things if the row is inserted, updated or deleted I would like to know what's happening in the trigger. I think I can manage to find if the row in inserted or updated (I can check the old_buffer with the new_buffer). How can I know if the row has been deleted? Alberto

  • WebSeal and jsp content updated by Ajax

    Hey, I have a problem running an application on environment with WebSeal. It is a web application with Java server that contains many parts that are replcaed within the page according to user input. For instance - a form called Outer.jsp may contain a form:options combo-box (by spring-forms), that uppon selection of an option, a certain Div is updated with a content produced by a jsp and fetched by an Ajax call (the ajax impementation in the client is done by Prototype JavaScript framework 1.5.1.2). Let's call the content fetched by ajax - Inner.jsp So Outer.jsp is fetching Inner.jsp, which in turn uses js functions in files included by the Outer.jsp. This, I think, is where my problem starts - Inner.jsp is not familiar with any of the functions included in Outer.jsp. And so, almost any operation performed by Inner.jsp is failing miserably. Needless to say - this works perfect when running on environment without WebSeal. Note that the scripting is enabled in WebSeal junction (with the -J option). I also see that the content returned by the Ajax call includes a document.cookie added by WebSeal (not sure it matters to this problem) Can anyone assist? Thanks! Lior

  • Attempting to update Amazon Route53 using a script, but domain is not being updated

    I have several Amazon EC2 instances, running Ubuntu 10.04, with which I'd like to use Amazon's Route53. I setup a script as described in Shlomo Swidler's article, but I'm still missing something. When the script runs, it doesn't return any output, which I initially assumed meant it ran correctly. However, when I check the DNS records using MyR53DNS, there are no entries for my instances.   • Updated XAMPP with MySQL, all my tables are missing

    I just updated XAMPP to a newer version, which included updating MySQL from 5.5 to 5.6. Using phpMyAdmin, however, all of my tables within my databases still appear on the left navigation panel, but the main window shows that all my databases are empty (except for information_schema, and a couple other default tables.) Clicking on a table in the navigation panel gives me a "table doesn't exist" message. It does looks like information_schema.tables doesn't have my tables, either. Can anyone assist me with this? I did make a complete backup of all my databases before the upgrade, but I first want to see if I can fix this the "normal" way. Furthermore, I'm not sure if the MySQL upgrade involved making changes to the information/performance databases, so I don't know if I can restore the old ones. Thank you. EDIT: Continuing my searching, I realized that only the INNODB databases are missing. I've tried running the following with no avail: /opt/lampp/bin $ sudo ./mysql_install_db --basedir=/opt/lampp and /opt/lampp/bin $ sudo ./mysql_install_db --basedir=/opt/lampp --datadir=/opt/lampp/var/mysql The my.cnf file in /opt/lampp/etc contains the following InnoDB settings: innodb_data_home_dir = /opt/lampp/var/mysql/ innodb_data_file_path = ibdata1:10M:autoextend innodb_log_group_home_dir = /opt/lampp/var/mysql/ # You can set .._buffer_pool_size up to 50 - 80 % # of RAM but beware of setting memory usage too high innodb_buffer_pool_size = 16M # Deprecated in 5.6 #innodb_additional_mem_pool_size = 2M # Set .._log_file_size to 25 % of buffer pool size innodb_log_file_size = 5M innodb_log_buffer_size = 8M innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit = 1 innodb_lock_wait_timeout = 50 What could possibly be wrong? Why is the information_schema not updating correctly?   • CSS and JS files not being updated, supposedly because of Nginx Caching

    I have my web app working with AppCache and I would like that when I modify my html/css/js files, and then update my Cache Manifest, that when the user accesses my web app, they will have an updated version of those files. If I change an HTML file, it works perfectly, but when I change CSS and JS files, the old version is still being used. I've been checking everything out and I think it's related to my nginx configuration. I have a cache.conf file that contains the following: gzip on; gzip_types text/css application/x-javascript text/x-component text/richtext image/svg+xml text/plain text/xsd text/xsl text/xml image/x-icon; location ~ \.(css|js|htc)$ { expires 31536000s; add_header Pragma "public"; add_header Cache-Control "max-age=31536000, public, must-revalidate, proxy-revalidate"; } location ~ \.(html|htm|rtf|rtx|svg|svgz|txt|xsd|xsl|xml)$ { expires 3600s; add_header Pragma "public"; add_header Cache-Control "max-age=3600, public, must-revalidate, proxy-revalidate"; } And in default.conf I have my locations. I would like to have this caching working on all locations except one, how could I configure this?   • Torrent upload ratio not updated on Synology DS212+

    I have a Synology DS212+ NAS running DSM 4.2-3211 (current version). I use it for several purposes including torrent download using Download Station and a tracker that needs authentication. My problem is that my download/upload ratio isn't updated, so it constantly falls down. My NAS is behind a router, and I configured the NAT to forward ports 6890 to 6999 to the internal IP address of the NAS. Here are the Download Station settings : TCP port : 6990, Sharing ratio : 900%, Sharing time : infinite, max download speed : 0 (no limit), max upload speed : 0 (no limit), BT protocol encryption : checked, max numbers of peers allowed by torrent file : 4000, DHT : checked, with port 6889. When the DHT option is not checked, the NAS doesn't upload any files. I don't know what is this option for. Can someone help me to solve this problem ? Did I miss any step, or does it come from the NAT ? How is the authentication managed by Dowload Station ? (Sorry for my english) Thanks.

Basically making a gray box slide down from the red box. The problem I am facing is that when the mouse moves over the gray div the slide toggles up. I want it to remain down when hovering over the red or gray square. Any help is appreciated.

    Does anyone know of an updated list of refactoring support for different IDEs? How many of Fowlers refactorings have tool support in popular IDEs? And does any IDE use code smells to any greater extent? I guess one would have to use addons for some IDEs, so even if i did find an updated list of refactoring support for say Eclipse, that would probably not be representative.

  • When should assertions stay in production code?

    Hi all, There's a discussion going on over at comp.lang.c++.moderated about whether or not assertions, which in C++ only exist in debug builds by default, should be kept in production code or not. Obviously, each project is unique, so my question here is not so much whether assertions should be kept, but in which cases this is recommendable/not a good idea. By assertion, I mean: A run-time check that tests a condition which, when false, reveals a bug in the software. A mechanism by which the program is halted (maybe after really minimal clean-up work). I'm not necessarily talking about C or C++. My own opinion is that if you're the programmer, but don't own the data (which is the case with most commercial desktop applications), you should keep them on, because a failing asssertion shows a bug, and you should not go on with a bug, with the risk of corrupting the user's data. This forces you to test strongly before you ship, and makes bugs more visible, thus easier to spot and fix. What's your opinion/experience? Cheers, Carl See related question here
