    I installed Squid 2.7 to act as a web cache on my laptop, so that I can browse previously-visited sites when I don't have WiFi. Except http_access allow all, I've made no changes to the default squid.conf configuration. When I turn offline_mode ON and disconnect from the Internet, and then I visit sites, I encounter The following error was encountered: Unable to determine IP address from host name for whatever.sitename.com The dnsserver returned: Timeout on any site I visit. What settings do I need to add to squid.conf so I can browse sites offline?

  • Exchange Server Address Resolving to Random String

    I am running Exchange 2013 on Windows Server 2012 R2. When I add my exchange account to Outlook, it seems to work perfectly (sending/receiving email, syncing everything), but when I open the account settings it has the following set as the Server: [email protected] I would have expects this to be: mail.domain.com since this is the DNS A record pointing to the IP of my server. Where is it getting this server name?

  • I cant use wasd and arrow keys at the same time?

    I am having this promblem where if I press one key on either one of the arrow keys or wasd, I cant press that direction on the other one unless that key is the only key of wasd or the arrow keys being pressed at that time. For example: I can press D and RIGHT, but if I do, I cant press W,A,S,LEFT,UP and DOWN. If I press A and S then I cant press LEFT and Down. Does anyone have a solution to that problem, cause I have searhed around, and found no similar problem.

  • iPhone game center can't create sandbox account

    Whenever I try to create an account on the simulator or device, I get a message "game center account services are currently unavailable. Please try again later." Furthermore, I have never been able to sign in to the game center app on the simulator. Interestingly, if I reset my device with iTunes, I can then log in to the Game Center app with my regular apple id. But whenever if I log out, then try to create a sandbox account for an app I am developing, it always fails as described above. Any suggestions?

    I am looking at FTP clients to transfer from an external FTP Server. I need to place this FTP client on a server in the DMZ that will not be routinely logged in, so the client needs to run as a service or something like that? I need the client to be able to retrieve files from the server on a schedule (Tuesday Mornings) and drop them in a local directory for pickup by another process. I would also like the solution to be capable of performing sftp transfers. Most marketing material is geared towards the person who will be running this on their desktop, not on a server, so several of my points are never in the product specs. update DMZ can run either Windows versions or Linux versions * end update *

  • DHCP server can't see other machines

    Hi, I setup a private network from virtual machines and one of the machines is the DHCP server for the group. I want to specify a next-server for the DHCP server but I'm having trouble connecting to any of the machines that I lease IPs to. I'm just trying to do a simple ping/ssh to 10.0.0.252 (a machine with a lease) but it doesn't seem to respond. Any advice? I'm assuming I need to be able to connect to my next-server but maybe I'm wrong. Thanks.

  • Access Domain over Wireless

    I have an active directory server and all hard wired clients connect perfectly fine. However any wireless clients do not recognize that they are connected to the domain, despite the dns server being appropriately set to the domain controller for both wired and wireless connections. Also - both wired and wireless clients are on the same subnet. I am using a Verizon food actiontec router. What am I missing? For instance, this is the same computer connected first via an Ethernet cable and second via the wireless.

    My co-developers and I recently upgraded machines to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Some of us are seeing a new error we used to never see when building solutions in Visual Studio (happens in both 2008 and 2010): Error generating Win32 resource: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. It always points to some temp file in our output folder, for example: MyProject\obj\Debug\CSC5123.tmp This happens about once every four or so builds. We then will try to run the same exact build again, and it will usually succeed. In some cases though, it will fail again on the same project, and in same cases, it will fail on a different project. There's really no rhyme or reason to it. But it's very frustrating, especially when it doesn't happen until the build has been running for 20 or so seconds. This also doesn't happen to all of our coworkers. It happens to about one out of four developers. For the one, it happens about one of four builds, and for the other three, it never happens. Oh, and did I mention we're all using machines built from the same image? :) Thanks in advance for any direction you can provide.

    I've done changes in an Android native library and installed a new system.img file but am now getting an unrelated Error on startup. I can get past it by swallowing the error but I wanted to know if anyone can explain what the issue is. The Android implementation of Logger.java claims that it is Forcing the LogManager to be initialized since its class init code performs necessary one-time setup. But this forced initialization results in a NoClassDefFoundError. I'm thinking that it has something to do with the class not having been preloaded by Zygote yet but am not that familiar with the whole class loaders and VM business.     First a bit of background: I have a WPF application, which is a GUI-front-end to a legacy Win32-application. The legacy app runs as DLL in a separate thread. The commands the user chooses in the UI are invoked on that "legacy thread". If the "legacy thread" finishes, the GUI-front-end cannot do anything useful anymore, so I need to shutdown the WPF-application. Therefore, at the end of the thread's method, I call Application.Current.Shutdown(). Since I am not on the main thread, I need to invoke this command. However, then I noticed that the Dispatcher also has BeginInvokeShutdown() to shutdown the dispatcher. So my question is: What is the difference between invoking Application.Current.Shutdown(); and calling Application.Current.Dispatcher.BeginInvokeShutdown();

  • How to change identifier quote character in SSIS for connection to ODBC DSN

    I'm trying to create an SSIS 2008 Data Source View that reads from an Ingres database via the ODBC driver for Ingres. I've downloaded the Ingres 10 Community Edition to get the ODBC driver, installed it, set up the data access server and a DSN on the server running SSIS. If I connect to the SQL Server 2008 Database Engine on the server running SSIS, I can retrieve data from Ingres over the ODBC DSN by running the following command: SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET( 'MSDASQL' , 'DSN=IngresODBC;UID=testuser;PWD=testpass' , 'SELECT * FROM iitables') So I am quite sure that the ODBC setup is correct. If I try the same query with SQL Server style bracketed identifier quotes, I get an error, as Ingres doesn't support this syntax. SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET( 'MSDASQL' , 'DSN=IngresODBC;UID=testuser;PWD=testpass' , 'SELECT * FROM [iitables]') The error is "[Ingres][Ingres 10.0 ODBC Driver][Ingres 10.0]line 1, Unexpected character '['.". What I am finding is that I get the same error when I try to add tables from Ingres to an SSIS Data Source View. The initial step of selecting the ODBC Provider works fine, and I am shown a list of tables / views to add. I then select any table, and try to add it to the view, and get "ERROR [5000A] [Ingres][Ingres 10.0 ODBC Driver][Ingres 10.0]line 3, Unexpected character '['.". Following Ed Harper's suggestion of creating a named query also seems to be stymied. If I put into my named query the following text: SELECT * FROM "iitables" I still get an error: "ERROR [5000A] [Ingres][Ingres 10.0 ODBC Driver][Ingres 10.0]line 2, Unexpected character '['". According to the error, the query text passed by SSIS to ODBC was: SELECT [iitables].* FROM ( SELECT * FROM "iitables" ) AS [iitables] It seems that SSIS assumes that bracket quote characters are acceptable, when they aren't. How can I persuade it not to use them? Double quotes are acceptable.

    [Cross-posted from lib-curl mailing list] I have a single threaded app (MSVC C++ 2005) build against a static LIBCURL 7.19.4 A test application connects to an in house server & performs a bespoke authentication process that includes posting a couple of forms, and when this succeeds creates a new resource (POST) and then updates the resource (PUT) using If-Match. I only use a single connection to libcurl (i.e. only one CURL*) The cookie engine is enabled from the start using curl_easy_setopt(CURLOPT_COOKIEFILE, "") The cookie cache is cleared at the end of the authentication process using curl_easy_setopt(CURLOPT_COOKIELIST, "SESS"). This is required by the authentication process. The next call, which completes a successful authentication, results in a couple of security cookies being returned from the server - they have no expiry date set. The server (and I) expect the security cookies to then be sent with all subsequent requests to the server. The problem is that sometimes they are sent and sometimes they aren't. I'm not a CURL expert, so I'm probably doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. Running the test app in a loop results shows a random distribution of correct cookie handling. As a workaround I've disabled the cookie engine and am doing basic manual cookie handling. Like this it works as expected, but I'd prefer to use the library if possible. Does anyone have any ideas?   • Visual Studio 2008 "Save File As" Dialog Intermittent Issue

    Me and a few of my coworkers are experiencing an odd issue in Visual Studio 2008 and Windows 7 (64-bit). We use VSS6 for our source control (unfortunately). We have an issue where we will make a change to a checked-out file, resulting in the file getting checked out as expected. But when we go to build the project, or try to save the file, it will often (but not always) prompt us with the "Save File As" dialog, as if VS thinks the file is checked-in (and thus has the read-only flag set). However, all we have to do is cancel out of the dialog and save or build again, and it will always work the second time, without prompting the save as dialog. Or, we can go through with the save as, leaving the name the same, and it will work. It's as if the source control status in VS2008 hasn't caught up w/ VSS (even though we VS2008 was the app that checked the file out). This is similar to the discussion on this thread, but it's not an issue of permissions or running as administrator, 1) because it resolves itself on second attempt, and 2) we're already running VS as administrator.
