  • Consuming Web Services requiring Authentication from behind Proxy server

    - by Jan Petersen
Hi All, I've seen a number of post about Proxy Authentication, but none that seams to address this problem. I'm building a SharePoint Web Service consuming desktop application, using Java, JAX-WS in NetBeans. I have a working prototype, that can query the server for authentication mode, successfully authenticate and retrieve a list of web site. However, if I run the same app from a network that is behind a proxy server (the proxy does not require authentication), then I'm running into trouble. The normal -dhttp.proxyHost ... settings does not seam to help any. But I have found that by creating a ProxySelector class and setting it as default, I can regain access to the authentication web service, but I still can't retrieve the list of web sites from the SharePoint server. It's almost as if the authentication I provide is going to the proxy rather than the SharePoint server. Anyone have any experience on how to make this work? I have put the source text java class files of a demo app up, showing the issue at the following urls (it's a bit to long even in the short demo form to post here). link text When running the code from a network behind a proxy server, I successfully retrieve the Authentication mode from the server, but the request for the Web Site list generates an exception originating at: com.sun.xml.internal.ws.transport.http.client .HttpClientTransport.readResponseCodeAndMessage(HttpClientTransport.java:201) The output from the source when no proxy is on the network is listed below: Successfully retrieved the SharePoint WebService response for Authentication SharePoint authentication method is: WINDOWS Calling Web Service to retrieve list of web site. • How to change webservice url endpoint ?

    - by EugeneP
I generated a web-service client using JBoss utils (JAX-WS compatible) using Eclipse 'web service client from a wsdl'. So, the only thing I provided was a url to a web-service. Now, the web service provider tells me to change the "client endpoint" of the web-service. What is it and how to change it?

  • How may I teach that SOAP is not a reliable transport?

    - by Eduardo
I need to teach that a HTTP SOAP call may be received but the caller may not get the response due to a network failure (among other problems). (This problem made WS-ReliableMessaging be developed) How would you guys show this problem to a web service developer so they can develop taking into account that duplicate messages may be received?

  • how to invoke a webservice from one container in another container in glassfish

    - by vinny
I have webservices deployed on two containers in two separate servers A and B. A webMethod in 'Server A' needs to invoke a webmethod in 'Server B'. I have created a client stub for Sever B. Im trying to make 'Server A' use this client stub and talk to Server B. I get an exception while trying to instantiate the port object specifically at : service.getABCBeanPort(); (using JAX-WS library) Is my approach correct? Is there any better way of invoking a webservice on a remote server?

  • this implementation does not contain a WSDL definition and is not a SOAP 1.1

    - by user1635118
I am trying to deploy a simple SOAP 1.2 web service to WebSphere v8. My service is @Stateless @WebService(serviceName = "MemberServices", portName = "MemberPort", endpointInterface = "gov.virginia.vita.edmsvc.ws.MemberWS") @BindingType(value=SOAPBinding.SOAP12HTTP_BINDING) @TransactionAttribute(TransactionAttributeType.REQUIRED) public class MemberBean implements MemberWS, MemberBeanLocal { .... } However the server is throwing the following error: "This implementation does not contain a WSDL definition and is not a SOAP 1.1 based binding. Per the JAXWS specification, a WSDL definition cannot be generated for this implementation.error" this same service deploy successfully on Glashfish and JBoss, any ideas ?

  • Tutorial how to create a CXF web service from existing Java code and embed it in Tomcat

    - by EugeneP
Do you know a tutorial how to create a CXF web service from existing Java code and embed it in Tomcat, and also generate a wsdl file so that any .NET system would be able to generate client code easily? I miss that WSDL creation point in, for example this http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/ws-pojo-springcxf/ tutorial. No wsdl file is generated. But still it should be present in my case to provide system interoperability.

  • play framework WS API always escape character ';' and '=' in URL

    - by user2512057
When I send a URL like abc.efg.com/query?para1=cat;para2=dog, play WS API always convert it to abc.efg.com/query?para1=cat%03Bpara2%03Ddog. Of course, there are http:// in the beginning in the URL. my code is as below. val url= "http://abc.efg.com/query?para1=cat;para2=dog" val response = WS.url(url).get() When I use fidder or netmon to look at the data that sent to sever, I found play framework WS (2.1.5) always change to the URL above I mentioned. How do I tell WS not to convert?

  • Jaxws notifications

    - by akmer
Hi, Could you please help in the following? Is there an acceptable design guideline to implement WS Notification Messaging in java? My scenario is the following: a web service client makes a web service call to a web service. After that, the web service should be able to send asynchronous notifications to the web client (as a result of the first web method call). What approach should be used? Thank you, Regards

  • Why do I get Access Denied when using WinRM?

    - by Kev
Following on from this question: Why does my PowerShell script hang when called in PSEXEC via a batch (.cmd) file? I took the advice from Jim B and installed WinRM. To recap I have two servers: HMon01 - runs Windows 2003 Standard SP2 Web1928 - runs Windows 2008 Standard SP2 Both servers are standalone. I installed WinRM for Windows 2003 from here and configured WinRM as follows on both machines: Client NetworkDelayms = 5000 URLPrefix = wsman AllowUnencrypted = false Auth Basic = true Digest = true Kerberos = true Negotiate = true Certificate = true DefaultPorts HTTP = 80 HTTPS = 443 TrustedHosts = * The problem I have is that if I remotely execute commands using the remote machine's built in Administrator account then all is well. However I have an account on the remote machine named remoteexec which is a member of the Administrators group (we disable our Administrator accounts). If I use this account then I get Access Denied errors. I've done all the usual things such as checking passwords and the like. Why would this be?

  • How to integrate a mirror WS without client reconfiguration?

    - by tzup
I have a web service hosted by IIS server 1 and another web service hosted by IIS server 2. Is there a way to have the WS on server 2 automatically pick up when the WS on server 1 is unavailable, without having to reconfigure the clients (which are desktop applications in this case). There must be some tools that perform such tasks, please help. Thank you. EDIT The two web services expose the same functionality, so basically I am trying to setup a high-availability cluster (ie failover cluster)

  • kSOAP2 and SOAPAction on Android

    - by Matze
Hi everyone, I am trying to access a Webservice with kSOAP2 on an Android Phone. I think the connection is being established, but the server won't answer my request since I'm not providing a SOAP Action Header which seems to be required in SOAP Version 1.1(please correct me if I'm wrong here) which I have to use since the server does not support Version 1.2 . The concrete Faultcode which is returning in the request looks like this: faultactor null faultcode "S:Server" (id=830064966432) faultstring "String index out of range: -11" (id=830064966736) The errorcode which is generated on the server (I'm running it on a localhost) looks like this: 4.05.2010 20:20:29 com.sun.xml.internal.ws.transport.http.HttpAdapter fixQuotesAroundSoapAction WARNUNG: Received WS-I BP non-conformant Unquoted SoapAction HTTP header: http://server.contextlayer.bscwi.de/createContext 24.05.2010 20:20:29 com.sun.xml.internal.ws.server.sei.EndpointMethodHandler invoke SCHWERWIEGEND: String index out of range: -11 java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -11 at java.lang.String.substring(Unknown Source) at de.bscwi.contextlayer.xml.XmlValidator.isValid(XmlValidator.java:41) at de.bscwi.contextlayer.server.ContextWS.createContext(ContextWS.java:45) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.api.server.InstanceResolver$1.invoke(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.server.InvokerTube$2.invoke(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.server.sei.EndpointMethodHandler.invoke(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.server.sei.SEIInvokerTube.processRequest(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.api.pipe.Fiber.__doRun(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.api.pipe.Fiber._doRun(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.api.pipe.Fiber.doRun(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.api.pipe.Fiber.runSync(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.server.WSEndpointImpl$2.process(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.transport.http.HttpAdapter$HttpToolkit.handle(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.transport.http.HttpAdapter.handle(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.transport.http.server.WSHttpHandler.handleExchange(Unknown Source) at com.sun.xml.internal.ws.transport.http.server.WSHttpHandler.handle(Unknown Source) at com.sun.net.httpserver.Filter$Chain.doFilter(Unknown Source) at sun.net.httpserver.AuthFilter.doFilter(Unknown Source) at com.sun.net.httpserver.Filter$Chain.doFilter(Unknown Source) at sun.net.httpserver.ServerImpl$Exchange$LinkHandler.handle(Unknown Source) at com.sun.net.httpserver.Filter$Chain.doFilter(Unknown Source) at sun.net.httpserver.ServerImpl$Exchange.run(Unknown Source) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(Unknown Source) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) The relevant part of the WSDL (at least that's what I'm thinking) looks like this: <operation name="createContext"> <soap:operation soapAction=""/> - <input> <soap:body use="literal" namespace="http://server.contextlayer.bscwi.de/"/> </input> - <output> <soap:body use="literal" namespace="http://server.contextlayer.bscwi.de/"/> </output> </operation> In my code I'm adding a Header, but it seems like I'm doing it wrong: private static final String SOAP_ACTION = ""; //... Thanks folks!

  • JMS ConnectionFactory creation error WSVR0073W

I must confess I’m not a JMS aficionado, one of our guys has written a Java webservice client [postcode lookup web service] and from a Remote Java client are calling a Message Driven Bean running in Websphere 6.1, using JMS. Getting the following error when attempted to create the Connection Factory. To which configured within Websphere jms/WSProxyQueueConnectionFactory. WARNING: WSVR0073W. • setProperty must be overridden by all subclasses of SOAPMessage

    - by Pablo
I'm trying to deploy some web services in a WAR application on JBoss 5.1.0. I have created the source files from an existing wsdl using JAX-WS tool wsgen. This created the Service files and @XmlType annotated clases that would act as request and response wrappers. This classes worked well on JBoss 4.2.3, but when moving to JBoss 5.1.0, I get this exception. java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: setProperty must be overridden by all subclasses of SOAPMessage My configuration: Windows XP SP3 (but getting the same on Vista, as well as on Linux) Sun JDK 1.6.0_17 JBoss 5.1.0 GA for jdk6 Thanks in advance!

  • Retrieving WSDL file from secure service

    - by Anonimo
I have a Web Service developed with JAX-WS. I have secured the web service with BASIC authentication configured in Tomcat. When I try to access the web service using a Java client, I first need to create the port, and then specify the credentials, as follows: CustomerServiceClient customerServiceClient = new CustomerServiceBottomUpService(); //1 CustomerService customer = customerServiceClient.getCustomerServicePort(); //2 Map<String, Object> context = ((BindingProvider) customer).getRequestContext(); //3 context.put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, "kermit"); //4 context.put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, "thefrog"); //5 The problem I have is that, after line 1, I get an Authorization error (HTTP 401) as I obviously haven't provided the server with the credentials yet. I am creating the client artifacts from a server WSDL, hence the authentication problem when creating the service, and don't want my clients to store the WSDL locally as it's just annoying for them. How can I get around this problem?

  • How to generate proxy for a child class when my web service return a parent class?

    - by Amir Borzoei
Hi * I have a web method like this: public class ParentClass{ public String str1; } public class ChildClass : ParentClass{ public String str2; } public class WebService{ public ParentClass WebMethod(){ return GetFirstChildClass(); //Return a child class } } When I generate proxy for this web service by Visual Studio, VS just generate proxy for ParentClass but I need ChildClass too. For workaround I add a dummy method to WebService that return ChildClass to generate proxy for ChildClass in client. public class WebService{ ... //This is a dummy method to generate proxy for ChildClass in client. public ChildClass DummyWebMethod(){ return null; } } In addition I write web service in java (JAX-WS) and my client is a SilverLight Application. Is there a better solution for this problem? tanx for your help ;)

  • Creating a web-service client directly from the source

    - by ben
Hi, I am trying to generate the WS client jar directly from the @Webservice class(es). Let's take this example : package com.example.maven.jaxws.helloservice; import javax.jws.WebService; @WebService public class Hello { public String sayHello(String param) { ; return "Hello " + param; } } I can generate a war file and use glassfish to serve this webservice, and from there I can use the glassfish WSDL URL to generate the client sources. What I am trying to do is to skip the glassfish part. From my maven project defining the webservice, I would like to use the jaxws-maven-plugin to create the client classes but I cannot find any way to specify the actual URL of the webservice. It should be possible right? @see also http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2097789/creating-a-web-service-client-with-a-known-but-inaccessible-wsdl

  • Invoke webservice using jaxws when the wsdl has more than one service

    - by Hugo Palma
I'm trying to get hold of the FindService on this wsdl using jaxws. I generated the classes just fine using wsimport. But when i do: FindService findService = new FindService(); i get the exception: Exception in thread "main" javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: {http://s.mappoint.net/mappoint-30/}FindService is not a valid service. Valid services are: {http://s.mappoint.net/mappoint-30/}CommonService So, it seems that jaxws is only finding CommonService in the wsdl which is the first one declared in it. Any idea how i can use the FindService ? Thanks.

  • Java: using endpoint to publish webservice to tomcat server

    - by Will
    hi all, i am creating a simple SOAP web service. i am to ensure that it runs on a tomcat web service. im trying to implement this with JAX-WS (see code) my question is: does the Endpoint.publish use the tomcat server to host this or is it a mini glassfish kind of server? should i be extending UnicastRemoveObject or something similiar instead? ideally it would be able to be packaged into a .WAR and dropped in the directory and just work. It doesn't seem to work with my installed tomcat server as is because it says the port is already in use. I'm using Ubuntu karmic with the tomcat6 package installed, it could also be my user doesnt have permissions to publish to the running tomcat on 8080 i hope this question is clear enough sample code: @WebService public class UserAttributes { public static void main(String[] args) { UserAttributes instance = new UserAttributes(); Endpoint.publish("http://localhost:8082/WebServices/userattributes", instance); } public string Hello() { return "Hello World"; } }

  • Exceptions and web services

    - by Schildmeijer
Im using the standard java ws implementation shipped with e.g. java6 (javax.jws.*). I have the following: import javax.jws.*; @WebService(name="Widget") public interface Widget { @WebMethod public @WebResult String getGadget(@WebParam(name = "id") long id) throw MyOwnException; } Is this possible? Do I have to annotate MyOwnException with e.g the @WebFault annotation? During my initial tests I also noticed that, on the client side, the autogenerated MyOwnException was renamed to MyOwnException_Exception and wrapped the "original" MyOwnException. Or if this is a bad idea, are there any recommended Exceptions to throw from a webservice like this?

  • Forcing Spring web services to add the xsd namespace to the response

  • Getting Raw XML From SOAPMessage in Java

    - by Daniel Lew
I've set up a SOAP WebServiceProvider in JAX-WS, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the raw XML from a SOAPMessage (or any Node) object. Here's a sample of the code I've got right now, and where I'm trying to grab the XML: @WebServiceProvider(wsdlLocation="SoapService.wsdl") @ServiceMode(value=Service.Mode.MESSAGE) public class SoapProvider implements Provider<SOAPMessage> { public SOAPMessage invoke(SOAPMessage msg) { // How do I get the raw XML here? } } Is there a simple way to get the XML of the original request? If there's a way to get the raw XML by setting up a different type of Provider (such as Source), I'd be willing to do that, too.

  • How to write web services in java

    - by gurupriyan.e
Though this might appear as a duplicate of Java Web Services , I would like to know Where to start and to continue. In the past, I have invested so much of time to find where to start but I wasn't able to. There are so many jargons and chaos (at least for me!) while reading the pages about web services. There are so many terms - like JAX-RPC, JAX-WS, Axis, Rest, Servlet as WebService, EJB's as Web Service and other terms that I don't know. Can this User group consolidate and give a highlevel overview of Java Web Services which is easy to understand and follow? I appreciate your kindness and thanks for your help.
