The issue is that I cannot scroll on my device once the #hiddendiv is displayed. I this is partly because the page is only about 500px height (not actually set anywhere) whilst the #hiddendiv is about 1500px height Does anyone know of a work around for this?

  • js loading page message not working on php file

    Merry Christmas guys, I found a code that displays a loading message using a gif. It uses the onLoad="init()" in the body tag. It works fine on an HTML file but it doesn't when the file is in PHP.   • Division of text follow the cursor via Javascript/Jquery

    Dear experts, I wanted have a dynamic division of content follow you with the cursor in the web browser space. I often experience a lag on the browser as a drag my mouse from one place to another. Is there a way to accomplish this easier and faster and more intuitive. I know you can use the cursor image technique but thats something I'm looking to avoid. Thanks in advance.

  • Git is not using the first editor in my $PATH

    I am using OS X 10.8, and I used brew to install a more recent version of emacs than the one shipped with OS X. The newer emacs binary is installed in /usr/local/bin (24.2.1), and the old "shipped-with-osx" one in /usr/bin (22.1.1). I updated my $PATH env variable by prepending /usr/local/bin to it. It works fine in my shell (ie. typing emacs runs the 24.2.1 version), but when git opens the editor, the emacs version is 22.1.1. Isn't git supposed to use $PATH to find the editor I want to use ? Additional informations: $ type -a emacs emacs is /usr/local/bin/emacs emacs is /usr/bin/emacs emacs is /usr/local/bin/emacs $ env PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin SHELL=/bin/zsh PAGER=most EDITOR=emacs -nw _=/usr/bin/env Please note that I'd prefer not to set the absolute path of my editor directly in my git conf, as I use this conf across multiple systems. So far no Problem, but I didn't found a way to access one of it's functions, the best thing would be if I could access the main function in the mxml part of the swf.   • Why does my JQuery Image swap not work in firefox or chrome, but fine in IE?

    Hi, Relatively new to JQuery. I've got some code that does a banner swap with a fade in fade out transition. The images swap as expected in IE8, chrome, and firefox. However, the actual fade, the smooth transition between images only works in IE. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a fix?   • Wordpress paths issue

    I have set a crawler up in wordpress which grabs stocks data and writes to file which when a user enters a symbol/ticker the variable is read and if it matches the data of a previous crawl for that particular companies data will echo the text file on page, if no data is found the crawler then sets off grabs it and writes to file to save for the next time that symbol is used. The problem im having is that everything works groovey apart from one thing, when the content is written to file it saves it in the WP root and not inside a subfolder of the theme, basicaly this means that root becomes untidy very quickly and also should the theme be used on another site then its not practical as some important info is missing. I have tried bloginfo and absolute both return the same failure.     I have been playing with the Command Window in Visual Studio (View-Other Windows-Command Window). It is great for several mouse-free scenarios. (The autocompleting file "Open" command rocks in a non-trivial solution.) That success got me thinking and experimenting: Possibility 1.1: You can use the Alias commands to create custom commands Possibility 1.2: You can use the Shell command to run arbitrary executables and specify parameters (and pipe the result to the output or command windows) Possibility 2: A previously setup external tool definition (with project-relative path variables) could be run from the command window What I am stuck on is: There doesn't appear to be a way to send parameters to an aliased command (and thus the underlying Shell call) There doesn't appear to be a way to use project/solution relative paths ($SolutionDir/$ProjectDir) on a Shell call Using absolute paths in Shell works, but is fragile and high-maintenance (one alias for each needed use case). Typically you want the command to run against a file relative to your project/solution. It seems you can't run the traditional external tools (Tools-External Tools...) in the command window Ultimately I want the external tool functionality in the command window in some way. Can anyone see a way to do this? Or am I barking up the wrong tree? So my questions: Can an "external tool" of some sort (using relative project/solution path parameters) be used in the Command Window? If yes, How? If no, what might be a suitable alternative?

  • How can I get sIFR to render the .sIFR-alternate correctly with FlashBlock enabled?

    So I've looked this up in a few different places, and the only answer I've seen is "style the span.sIFR-alternate element". Problem is, if I apply any styles to that element that will actually have it appear & be placed correctly, it shows up alongside the sIFR text when FlashBlock isn't present (e.g. in Safari/IE) or is disabled. Here's the default styles for .sIFR-alternate: .sIFR-alternate { position: absolute; left: 0; top: 0; width: 0; height: 0; display: block; overflow: hidden; } And I'm adding these: span.sIFR-alternate { font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 24px; line-height: 14px; color: #000000; padding: 0; margin-top:12px; margin-bottom:7px; } What am I missing? Otherwise though, sIFR is working well.

  • Javascript style variables with "-" in their name aren't able to be changed?

    Okay, so this bug has cost me quite a bit of time and embarrassment. It seems that any style variable with a - in it's name can't be modified by javascript.   • dojo.parser.parse only working first time it's called.

    I have a page that when a user clicks on a link for some reporting tools, it first asks them to enter some report parameters. I get the parameters dialog as a form using AJAX, based on the id of the link. Each dialog has some dojo controls on it, so I need to parse them when the dialog appears, because it is not originally part of the page. The first dialog when called works fine, but subsequent calls to dialogs fails to parse the dojo controls.   • Was Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 written to use multi cores?

    basically i want to know if the visual studio IDE and/or compiler in 2010 was written to make use of a multi core environment (i understand we can target multi core environments in 08 and 10, but that is not my question). i am trying to decide on if i should get a higher clock dual core or a lower clock quad core, as i want to try and figure out which processor will give me the absolute best possible experience with Visual Studio 2010 (ide and background compiler). if they are running the most important section (background compiler and other ide tasks) in one core, then the core will get cut off quicker if running a quad core, esp if background compiler is the heaviest task, i would imagine this would b e difficult to seperate in more then one process, so even if it uses multi cores you might still be better off with going for a higher clock cpu if the majority of the processing is still bound to occur in one core (ie the most significant part of the VS environment). i am a vb programmer, they've made great performance improvements in beta 2, congrats, but i would love to be able to use VS seamlessly... anyone have any ideas? thanks, erx

    I have a wget-like script which downloads a page and then retrieves all the files linked in IMG tags on that page. Given the URL of the original page and the the link extracted from the IMG tag in that page I need to build the URL for the image file I want to retrieve.     ok i've been searching for an answer to this (if there even is one) with no luck i have a succession of div elements as shown in the pic bellow: http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h46/DrAcOliCh_2006/untitled-1.jpg?t=1300520458 the blue background is the absolute parent of the orange divs which are also siblings the DOM is not quite organized according to how the orange elements appear on the page because they are all draggable (i used jquery UI) and i moved them around inside the parent, yet, as some know, the DOM doesn't get reorganized when i move draggable elements around, so basically the siblings structure remains the same inside the DOM what i kinda need (again if that is even possible) is to determine the immediate on page neighbouring siblings of eachother; in other words, say we take that "FlashBanner" element which, on page, has the "Logo", the "Search" and the "ShoppingBasket" elements as immediate top siblings and the "Categories" and "Content" elements as immediate bottom siblings (and no left or right siblings) i have a manual solution to this, that is to pre-specify the on page neighbouring siblings for each element through a series of form fields and stuff (another story and another wall of text to explain), but that is not important atm as i want to know if it can be done automatically (i.e tell jquery to find them for me) appreciate any help, even an "it can't be done automatically", and thank you for your time hope this doesn't sound to ambiguous (or silly for that matter) and why i need to do that don't ask :P wall of text to explain cheers :)

    I'm trying to make a simple CSS drop down menu that when you mouse over a link, the sub menu appears. I've managed to achieve this when you mouse over an li but can't figure out how to do it using a link. The reason why I'm trying to do this using a link rather than the li is that my menu width is 100% and the li spans a greater area than the link so if you mouse over that area, the sub menu appears when you don't want it to.   • Ruby on Rails: custom instance creation failing at redirect

    I am at an absolute loss as to what I am doing wrong with the following code. I am trying to implement a messaging system within my application, but want it to be handle different types of messages. In this case, I want to create a "request" message of ':message_type = 1'. Instead of using forms as I usually have, I want to make this instance the moment the link is clicked. Here is how I have it set up in the show erb file for "user": <%=link_to "Send friend request", :action=>"request", :controller => "messages", :id => @user.id %> and in the controller: def request @message = Message.new(:sender_id => current_user.id,:user_id => params[:id],:message_type => 1) if @message.save flash[:notice] = 'Message was successfully created.' redirect_to message_path(@message) else redirect_to message_path(@message) end end This results in the following error message: undefined method `rewrite' for nil:NilClass with the trace looking like c:/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-2.3.5/lib/active_support/whiny_nil.rb:52:in `method_missing' c:/ruby/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-2.3.5/lib/action_controller/base.rb:634:in `url_for' (eval):16:in `message_path' app/controllers/messages_controller.rb:11:in `request' I have used map.resources :messages in the routes.rb file, and done the appropriate :has_many and :belongs_to associations in the models of user and message.

  • Div appearing outside its parent, bizarre sizing problems...

    I have a list, which is going to be a menu. I want to position it absolutely at the very top of the page. My code looks like this: <div id="sitenavmenu"> <div id="sitenavmenu-content"> <ul id="sitenavmenu-content-menu"> <li>Register</li> <li><%: Html.ActionLink("About", "About", "Home")%></li> <li>Contact Us</li> </ul> </div> </div> My CSS looks like this: #sitenavmenu { position:absolute; margin-left:300px; top:2px; width:500px; } #sitenavmenu-content-menu li { list-style-type:none; display:inline; padding-right:5px; font-size:small; } The problem I have is, if I don't position it absolutely, it looks fine. As soon as I position it absolutely (as it is shown above), the sitenavmenu div changes size, and although it shifts to the top, the sitenavmenu-content div appears below it. There is no other CSS as I have only just started, and I have checked padding etc. and everything is zero. I just can't figure out why it's not working, and I don't want to hack it. Edit: It's something to do with the height of #sitenavmenu. If I leave it, then the sitenav-content ends up horizontally centered in it, although #sitenavmenu is much taller. If I make them both the same size, so they should sit on top of each other, then the #sitenavmenu-content sits below.

  • Reload mod_fcgid without killing Python Service

    Hi I'm currently running a Django project on my school's webserver with FCGI. I did follow the multiple guides that recommends installing a virtual local Python environment and it worked out great. The only issue i had was that "touching" my fcgi-file to reload source-files wasn't enough, but instead i had to kill the python service via SSH. This because mod_fcgid is used. However, the admin didn't think it was a great idea that i ran my own local python. He thought it better if i just told him what modules to install on root, which was a pretty nice service really. But doing this, i can no longer kill python since it's under root(though immoral as I am, I've definitely tried). The admins recommendation was that I should try too make the fcgi script reload itself by checking time stamp. I've tried to find documentation on how to do this, but fund very little and since I'm a absolute beginner i have no idea what would work. Anyone have experience running python/django under mod_fcgid or tips on where to find related guides/documentation?

    I am trying to achive the following: Create an image gallery using the JQuery Cycle plugin that shows images with titles (taken from the alt text) Each image has a PNG absolutley posiioned over the top to achieve rounded corners effect Here's my gallery HTML: <div id="slideshow" class="pics"> <div class="photo-container" > <img src="/path/to/image" alt="alt text as title" /> <img class="mask" src="path/to/mask" /> </div> </div><!-- /slideshow --> <div id="title"></div> Here's my Jquery gallery function: $(function() { $('#slideshow').after('<div id="nav" class="nav"><span style="margin: 0 5px 0 30px;">next image</span>').cycle({ fx: 'fade', timeout: 0, cleartypeNoBg: true, pager: '#nav', next: '#slideshow', before: onBefore }); function onBefore() { $('#title').html(this.alt); } $('#nav a').after('<span>&gt;</span>') }); </script> Here is my CSS that handles the mask: .photo-container { position: relative; display: block; overflow:hidden; border: none; } img.mask { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; overflow:hidden; border: none; } The above does not output the alt text into the "title" div. When I remove the mask, it works: <div id="slideshow" class="pics"> <img src="/path/to/image" alt="alt text as title" /> </div><!-- /slideshow --> <div id="title"></div> Any ideas why the additonal div / image is casuing the title to not display?   • Running Sitecore Production Site under a Virtual Directory

    We are using Sitecore 6 on a Windows Server 2003 (32bit) dev machine. I know it's not recommended for the CMS editing site, but we've been told it is possible to get the front-end Sitecore websites to run from within a virtual directory. Here's the issue: we'd like to achieve what the below poor mans diagram shows. We have a website (.net 1.1) /WebSiteRoot (.net 1.1) | | |---- Custom .net 1.1 Web Application | |---- SiteCore frontend WebApplication (.net 2.0) | |---- Custom .net 2.0 WebApplication The Sitecore webApplication would contain the Sitecore pipeline in its web.config and we'd make use of the section to configure the virtual folder to allow for where our Sitecore app sits and point it to the appropriate place in the Content Tree. Is it possible to pull this off? This is just the customer facing website, there will be no CMS editing functionality on these servers, that will be done from a more standard Sitecore install inside the firewall on a different server. The errors we're encountering are centered around loading the the various config files in the App_Config folder. It seems to do a Server.MapPath on "/" initially (which is wrong for us) so we've tried putting absolute paths in the web.config and still no joy (I think there must be some hardcoded piece that looks for the Include directory). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • Center container horizontally and vertically

    Looking over other question on this site, I used a method of setting all the positions to 0 with auto margins, but this has some unwanted behavior. If you resize the window vertically, the top of the container moves off of the top of the page. It needs to stop when it hits the top.
