  I'm trying out the FlasBuilder ide with ColdFusion 8 on OS X. When I try to create a new project, I get stuck at the server setup screen that forces you to validate your paths for your ColdFusion root folder and your webroot. Every combination I try says either "LiveCycle Data Services is not installed at the specified location" or "Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml." The flex-config.xml file is sitting in that directory. Is there some trick to getting this to work?

  Hey guys, I'm working on a platformer, and looking for a way to create a sprite for an arbitrarily sized platform. For example, I may know I have a platform that should appear 200 pixels wide by 32 pixels high, and, say, I have a texture of bricks that I can tile to fill that area. I may also want to draw a black border around the platform. Is this possible at all? Anyone have any ideas for how I might go about doing this? I could always try generating the image on the fly and building a sprite with that image, but I sincerely doubt (hope) that this isn't the most efficient way of doing something like this.   Hey Guys, I want to create a section in my site, where a user has a few simple update buttons. Each of these update buttons will be going to the server, and will do a long crunching behind the scene. While the server crunches data, I want the user to have a some kind of progress indicator, like progress bar or textual percentage. I'm using jQuery as my javascript library, and CodeIgniter (PHP) as the server-side framework, if it's important... What I was thinking about is using PHP's flush() function to report progress status to jQuery, but I'm not sure that jQuery's ajax functions are reading the output before it's complete... So any advice/explanation would be useful and helpful! Thanks :)

• Why won't asp.net create cookies in localhost?

  Okay, this is really kinda starting to bug me. I have a simple Web project setup located at: "C:\Projects\MyTestProject\". In IIS on my machine, I have mapped a virtual directory to this location so I can run my sites locally (I understand I can run it from Visual Studio, I like this method better). I have named this virtual directory "mtp" and I access it via http://localhost/mtp/index.aspx. All this is working fine. However, whenever I try to create a cookie, it simply never gets written out? I've tried this in FF3 and IE7 and it just plain won't write the cookie out. I don't get it. I do have "127.0.0.1 localhost" in my hosts file, I can't really think of anything else I can do. Thanks for any advice. James

  Hi, I'd like to create a folder under a package in Eclipse... The purpose of this folder is merely for organizational purposes. Meaning, I don't want it to be another package. Every time I try to add a folder under a package, it just creates a package instead. I'd like to have the following structure: project/src/package1/someClass.java project/src/package1/someFOLDER/anotherClass.java project/src/package1/package2/anotherFOLDER/oneOtherClass.java Is it possible to do this without adding a package? I come from a .NET/C# and C++ background... here I'd just add a folder and the reference to that class would be updated in the project. How can I just add an organizational folder in eclipse? Thanks

  Hello, I need to create a Dialog / Prompt including TextBox for user input. My problem is, how to get the text after having confirmed the dialog? Usually I would make a class for this which would save the text in a property. However I want do design the Dialog using XAML. So I would somehow have to extent the XAML Code to save the content of the TextBox in a property - but I guess that's not possible with pure XAML. What would be the best way to realize what I'd like to do? How to build a dialog which can be defined from XAML but can still somehow return the input? Thanks for any hint!

• PostGIS - can't create spatially-enabled database

  I'm using Ubuntu 10.10, PostgreSQL 9.0 and PostGIS 1.5. I've installed PostGIS 1.5 from: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugis/+archive/ubuntugis-unstable I used PPA first then the command: sudo apt-get install postgis to install postgis. I've been following these instructions to create a spatially-enabled database: http://ostgis.refractions.net/docs/ch02.html#id2630100 I got to the point where it's saying: Now load the PostGIS object and function definitions into your database by loading the postgis.sql definitions file (located in [prefix]/share/contrib as specified during the configuration step). psql -d [yourdatabase] -f postgis.sql Well, there is no postgis.sql on my server after the installation. I did an sudo updatedb to make sure I can find postgis.sql but it's not there. Any ideas? Thank you!

• User can't login after creating them with the asp.net Create User Wizard

  When I create a user, they can't login until I go into the asp.net configuration and save them. I actually don't change any settings, I just press the save button and then they can login in. What I would like to do is to have the user be able to login once they are created, but I can't seem to get it to work.   Hi All, What I am trying to do is create tooltip functionality so that certain words in my instructional app can be tapped and the definition pops up. For the popup part I plan on using code from “AFInformationView” which provides bubbles on the iPhone. The part I'm struggling with is how to associate A particular word's location with the bubble. Currently I have the text on a UILabel that is on a custom UITableCell. Since I calculate the row height on the fly with: [textToUse sizeWithFont:[UIFont systemFontOfSize:FONT_SIZE] constrainedToSize:CGSizeMake(stop-start, 500)]; I'm not sure what the coordinates for a specific word will be. I was thinking that if I created a custom DataDetectorType that could be the fix. If anyone knows how to do this or has any other ideas I would be happy to hear them. Thanks, Andrew

  I'm trying to create an add-in for SSMS 2008 and/or 2008 R2 but I've run into a problem straight away. I can get my add-in to work and on SSMS start-up get it to simply show a message box. However, after downloading various code-samples, when trying to reference Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.VSIntegration.ServiceCache I get a null reference exception: Commands2 commands = (Commands2)ServiceCache.ExtensibilityModel.Commands; I get this problem when using SSMS 2008 or SSMS 2008 R2. I'm working on Visual Studio 2010. It's a bit frustrating because I'm keen to learn more about SSMS add-ins but can't seem to get past the few samples out there. Any advice/tips appreciated. Thanks

  I would like to create a TextBox that only accepts numeric values, in a specific range. What is the best way to implement such TextBox? I thought about deriving TextBox and to override the validation and coercion of the TextProperty. Edit: What I needed was a very basic textbox that filters out all key presses which are not digits.   I have some objects which have been created automatically by linq2SQL. I would like to write some code which should be run whenever the properties on these objects are read or changed. Can I use typical get { //code } and set {//code } in my partial class file to add this functionality? Currently I get an error about this member already being defined. This all makes sense. Is it correct that I will have to create a method to function as the entry point for this functionality, as I cannot redefine the get and set methods for this property. I was hoping to just update the get and set, as this would mean I wouldn't have to change all the reference points in my app. But I think I may just have to update it everywhere.
