  Hi there, I want to run a the following example in cucumber: Scenario: Anonymous user can log in and be remembered Given I am logged in with reminder When I navigate away And I go to the list of cornetas Then I should be logged in But I don't know how to write the "And I navigate away" step. I already tried to "visit stackoverflow.com" or "visit http://stackoverflow.com", but with no success. Any suggestions? • What is the best software to write and organize written copy / content for a website?

  I'm a newbie product manager, looking for tips on how to write and organize text copy for my company's website. I need to be able to prepare the content for our public site and turn it over to the web designer who publishes it to our live site. I want our UI team to be able to quickly glance at the copy I write and immediately know where on the page I intend for it to go. Currently, I'm using microsoft word to write and color code different text to signify where I want specific text to go. It is difficult for the UI guy to immediately know if something goes into the nav bar or into a header or a description below a header. In addition to that, it would be helpful for me to be able to write the copy in such a way that the web designer could copy and paste it into the XHTML without having to go back and manually replace special punctuation characters with the XHTML entities. What software is out there that will allow a comprehensive solution to these web copywriting issues?

• .htaccess causes links on page to try an open a BIN file?

  My friend's site which I agree to tech-advise, is psychtalkonline.com. You can go check it out, it's an anonymous forum (miniBBS) running Apache on Unix. I at first had a problem with mod_rewrite but then I uploaded the .htaccess file. However, that seemed to cause problems. If you click on any link, you will get a pop-up saying "You have chosen to open which is a BIN file". If you click the source code, and click on the links in the source code, you will see that it goes to the BIN file. I'm not really sure what's going on. I really would appreciate some help. Thanks.

To continue to learn new things I would have to change division and work on something competely different, but then my current domain knowledge would be useless & I would start off with knowing nothing again.   A guy came to me there recently with a half done web app that has been created using VB.NET, nothing major, just a normal site. His original programmer couldn't continue so he wants me to finish it. Problem is I don't program using VB.NET nor have I any intention of learning it for a project this small. Usually I would run from something like this but I need the cash. Should I take the project and continue it using C# or just leave it. Has anyone had a similar experience and how did it turn out.

By reading through numerous posts, I've figured out some details already: Count only 1 IP hit per 15 minutes (if anonymous) Count only 1 unique user-Login (per day?) Now that leaves the question of the real implementation.. Should I log the two factors live into a table (and increase count) | IP | timestamp | pageurl | Or do the counting AFTERWARDS (e.g. using IIS log files - which don't include the user, right? I know there're some similar posts outside, but NONE really has a great solution in my opinion yet..

When I set < identity impersonate=true > in my web.config so that asp.net impersonates the logged on user automatically (or the anonymous account if not using Windows Authentication), where does the identity that asp.net impersonates come from? This document: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff649264.aspx shows three places you can retrieve information about the logged on user: Httpcontext.Current.user System.Threading.Thread.Current System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent It seems that none of these locations consistently match the identity that gets impersonated when I set < identity impersonate=true > in web.config. I would like to know where the impersonated identity comes from.

• Map works, but throws a popup error at load complainig about wrong api key

  Ok, I see a lot of people have this problem, but none answer I found either here or at stackoverflow. Problem: Map works super fine! But throws an error at load "This map needs a different api key... sign up at......" Already signed up, already got a key. On some forum post a guy told that in this case map loads twice, once with the wrong key, another with the right one. But Im sure my app loads it once and with the correct key.   Hi, how come that when I attach onchange by attribute and call it onchange="validateDate(FPR_CURR_FROM);" it works, but when I use a ASP .NET validator, and my attached function is called like : function anonymous() { ValidatorOnChange(event); validateDate(FPR_CURR_FROM); } I get error: FPR_CURR_FROM is undefined. First off: I know that using FPR_CURR_FROM to access element is BAD, and I should use getElementByID etc... And I will change it eventually. • Does sending mails with mail() hide the recipieints address

  I am trying to build a email messaging system for a classified site ( a la craigslist), so that users can email each other. emails of registered users are stored in a database. What I want is for the recipients email address to be hidden from the sender's . If I just use the mail() function and dynamically get the recipients email from the database, will this email be visible to the person sending the mail ?? if the recipients email is indeed hidden from the sender's when using mail() this way, then why does craigslist anonymize's email ? isn't it already anonymous ? Edit: so the email won't be visible to the person filling the form. SO the question remains is why does craigslist anonymizes email addresses? and whether I should implement the same ?

• What's the most auditable way to organize database maintenance scripting/scheduling?

  I'm using PHP, Oracle and crontab. Crontab is invoking a php script, which is going to synchronize some data between a local and remote database. First I thought about putting this all in one large, anonymous inline PL/SQL block and executing it in PHP. The problem is that without creating a table to audit the procedure it's really opaque to my PHP code until it returns. And then when it does return, the best I can do is receive a string in an out parameter which I've concatenated together as an audit log. Then I considered breaking it up into several SQL statements and have PHP do some intermediate auditing/logging and manipulation of the data between each of them. I'm not really satisfied with either of these. How do you organize maintenance code that is called in a cronjob?

  I have strings that are "Images", although they are in "String" format. Here's how one of the strings look like: {\pict\wmetafile8\picw820\pich900\picwgoal465\pichgoal510 010009000003ac1000000000f60900000000f6090000..etc.. It goes on like this for a few more lines. The guy that got this said he converted the image by pasting it in a richtextbox and getting that string. How can I go about getting the same result? Sorry for the lack of info. Just not sure how this is called.

  I'm developing a social game in Flash with a team of developers. Our server-side guy has developed a really slick RESTful API for the Flash client to talk to. A lot of the client-server interactions involve adding and removing objects from a persistent world, so the API makes extensive use of the PUT and DELETE verbs. The problem is, the URLRequest object in AS3 only supports the GET and POST verbs. We're on a strict schedule, and we'd really rather not have to rewrite the whole API to just use GET and POST. Has anyone come up with a good way to get Flash to send other verbs?

• Sharepoint always down on the weekend?

  For some reason, our sharepoint site always goes down on Saturday. It's the stangest thing and I can't figure out why. I'm a total noob at sharepoint and have been thrown into being the go to guy for sharepoint with my current employer. I've tried bouncing IIS on Fridays to see if there is anything I can do before hand. Is there anything that might be scheduled that I may not know about that would cause sharepoint to go down?   The standard says A variable is introduced by the declaration of an object. The variable's name denotes the object. But what does this definition actually mean? Does a variable give a name to an object, i.e. are variables just a naming mechanism for otherwise anonymous objects? Or is a variable the name itself? Or is a variable a named object in the sense that every variable is also an object? Or is a variable just a "proxy" with a name that "delegates" all operations to the real object? To confuse things further, many C++ books seem to treat variables and objects as synonyms. What is your take on this?

• How to access the service instance from host object in WCF?

  I am trying to incarnate some sort of ad hoc WCF service. I already managed to launch it and make it call its own web methods as some other guy's methods. The issue that I am facing is instance management. I have set [ServiceBehavior(InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.Single)] so it now has a global instance with the same properties for all clients. But besides that I need it to call other services of its kind while listening to incoming requests from clients (similar crazy services). While debugging I noticed that the ServiceHost's constructor calls the constructor of the service class. So, I assumed it has access to the global instance of this class and I need to find a way to call methods of this instance. Please don't ask what I have been smoking, I just have to make it ad hoc.
