  • How to OpenWebConfiguration with physical path?

    hi, I have a win form that creates a site in IIS7. One function needs to open the web.config file and make a few updates. (connection string, smtp, impersonation) However I do not have the virtual path, just the physical path. Is there any way I can still use WebConfigurationManager? I need to use it's ability to find section and read/write. System.Web.Configuration.WebConfigurationManager.OpenWebConfiguration Thanks!!

  • How do I force fetching of tags if I have the --no-tags option set

    Whenever I run git fetch it fetches all the tags from origin. In a project with lots of tags, this can get quite bothersome. So I ran git config remote.origin.tagopt --no-tags so fetching will no-longer fetch tags. However, there are some times when I do want to fetch tags, or a single tag. Does anyone know how to do this? (besides removing that configuration, and running git fetch --no-tags every time) Thanks!

I have Internal Server Error 500 and no info in log and when I try to open not -existing file also - no info in error log. How to enable it properly? I need individualized error messages like the following one: suche.elements.methode.options.validators.strlen.options.messages.stringLengthTooLong = "Der Suchbegriff '%value%' ist zu lang!" This works well for strlen and regex, but how do I set it up for "required" elements? I tried stuff like suche.elements.methode.options.validators.notempty.options.messages.isEmpty = "Der Suchbegriff darf nicht leer sein!" but this throws exceptions.

  • Suggestions for duplicate file finder algorithm (using C)

    Hello, I wanted to write a program that test if two files are duplicates (have exactly the same content). First I test if the files have the same sizes, and if they have i start to compare their contents. My first idea, was to "split" the files into fixed size blocks, then start a thread for every block, fseek to startup character of every block and continue the comparisons in parallel. When a comparison from a thread fails, the other working threads are canceled, and the program exits out of the thread spawning loop. Still, some guys from #C (freenode) suggested that the solution is overly complicated, and it may perform poorly because of parallel reading on hddisk. What I want to know: Is the threaded approach flawed by default ? Is fseek() so slow ? Is there a way to somehow map the files to memory and then compare them ?

    Is there a way of running an ASP.NET website in a subfolder of the website? As an example, say I wanted to run the screwturn wiki (http://www.screwturn.eu/) in a folder called "wiki" on my website, can I alter the web.config of the screwturn website to tell it that it is running in the "wiki" folder? (like saying that "~/" = "/wiki/") The wiki would then find its assemblies that are in "~/bin" in "/wiki/bin" and the same for all other folders below the new root.

Is it safe or a good practice to change these lines for every different installation of cakephp application or shall I revert back to the original ?     Is it possible to configure CruiseControl.NET to send an email to the user(s) that did modifications to a broken build by mapping their SVN username to the corresponding Active-Directory alias (hence retrieving the correct, updated email address). Our SVN server is set-up to allow users of a certain Active-Directory group to read and commit changes: I don't want to have to maintain the CruiseControl.NET config every time a user gets added to our Programmers group in Active-Directory.     Hi, I'm trying to run tinyMCE texteditor in ASP.NET 2.0 + 3.5 but I get the following error in my web.config file.. An error occurred loading a configuration file: Failed to start monitoring changes to '###\Visual Studio 2005\WebSites\TinyMCE\tinymce\jscripts\tiny_mce\langs' because the network BIOS command limit has been reached. For more information on this error, please refer to Microsoft knowledge base article 810886. Hosting on a UNC share is not supported for the Windows XP Platform. Any ideas how to solve this?

Problem is that std:InnerHTML responseHandler takes its target html tag id in axis-config.xml so it seems impossible to reuse the definition when only thing that should change is the target tag id. Is there a way to set responseHandler parameters on the the page where it is used (in asix:event tag or someting)?

  • ant ftp doesn't download files in subdirectories

    Hello, I'm trying to download files in subdirectories from an ftp server with ant. The exact set of files is known. Some of them are in subdirectories. Ant only seems to download the ones in the root directory. It does work if I download all files without listing them. The first ftp action should do the exact same thing as the second. Instead it complains about "Hidden files" and seems to prefix the paths with "\\". Does anyone know what's wrong here?   • Using the HTML5 &lt;input type=&quot;file&quot; multiple=&quot;multiple&quot;&gt; Tag in ASP.NET

    Per HTML5 spec the <input type="file" /> tag allows for multiple files to be picked from a single File upload button. This is actually a very subtle change that's very useful as it makes it much easier to send multiple files to the server without using complex uploader controls. Please understand though, that even though you can send multiple files using the <input type="file" /> tag, the process of how those files are sent hasn't really changed - there's still no progress information or other hooks that allow you to automatically make for a nicer upload experience without additional libraries or code. For that you will still need some sort of library (I'll post an example in my next blog post using plUpload). All the new features allow for is to make it easier to select multiple images from disk in one operation. Where you might have required many file upload controls before to upload several files, one File control can potentially do the job. How it works To create a file input box that allows with multiple file support you can simply do:<form method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <label>Upload Images:</label> <input type="file" multiple="multiple" name="File1" id="File1" accept="image/*" /> <hr /> <input type="submit" id="btnUpload" value="Upload Images" /> </form> Now when the file open dialog pops up - depending on the browser and whether the browser supports it - you can pick multiple files. Here I'm using Firefox using the thumbnail preview I can easily pick images to upload on a form: Note that I can select multiple images in the dialog all of which get stored in the file textbox. The UI for this can be different in some browsers. For example Chrome displays 3 files selected as text next to the Browse… button when I choose three rather than showing any files in the textbox. Most other browsers display the standard file input box and display the multiple filenames as a comma delimited list in the textbox. Note that you can also specify the accept attribute in the <input> tag, which specifies a mime-type to specify what type of content to allow.Here I'm only allowing images (image/*) and the browser complies by just showing me image files to display. Likewise I could use text/* for all text formats registered on the machine or text/xml to only show XML files (which would include xml,xst,xsd etc.). Capturing Files on the Server with ASP.NET When you upload files to an ASP.NET server there are a couple of things to be aware of. When multiple files are uploaded from a single file control, they are assigned the same name. In other words if I select 3 files to upload on the File1 control shown above I get three file form variables named File1. This means I can't easily retrieve files by their name:HttpPostedFileBase file = Request.Files["File1"]; because there will be multiple files for a given name. The above only selects the first file. Instead you can only reliably retrieve files by their index. Below is an example I use in app to capture a number of images uploaded and store them into a database using a business object and EF 4.2.for (int i = 0; i < Request.Files.Count; i++) { HttpPostedFileBase file = Request.Files[i]; if (file.ContentLength == 0) continue; if (file.ContentLength > App.Configuration.MaxImageUploadSize) { ErrorDisplay.ShowError("File " + file.FileName + " is too large. The important thing here is that I iterate over the files by index, rather than using a foreach loop over the Request.Files collection. The files collection returns key name strings, rather than the actual files (who thought that was good idea at Microsoft?), and so that isn't going to work since you end up getting multiple keys with the same name. Instead a plain for loop has to be used to loop over all files. Another Option in ASP.NET MVC If you're using ASP.NET MVC you can use the code above as well, but you have yet another option to capture multiple uploaded files by using a parameter for your post action method.public ActionResult Save(HttpPostedFileBase[] file1) { foreach (var file in file1) { if (file.ContentLength < 0) continue; // do something with the file }} Note that in order for this to work you have to specify each posted file variable individually in the parameter list. This works great if you have a single file upload to deal with. You can also pass this in addition to your main model to separate out a ViewModel and a set of uploaded files:public ActionResult Edit(EntryViewModel model,HttpPostedFileBase[] uploadedFile) You can also make the uploaded files part of the ViewModel itself - just make sure you use the appropriate naming for the variable name in the HTML document (since there's Html.FileFor() extension). Browser Support You knew this was coming, right? The feature is really nice, but unfortunately not supported universally yet. Once again Internet Explorer is the problem: No shipping version of Internet Explorer supports multiple file uploads. IE10 supposedly will, but even IE9 does not. All other major browsers - Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera - support multi-file uploads in their latest versions. So how can you handle this? If you need to provide multiple file uploads you can simply add multiple file selection boxes and let people either select multiple files with a single upload file box or use multiples. Alternately you can do some browser detection and if IE is used simply show the extra file upload boxes. It's not ideal, but either one of these approaches makes life easier for folks that use a decent browser and leaves you with a functional interface for those that don't. Here's a UI I recently built as an alternate uploader with multiple file upload buttons: I say this is my 'alternate' uploader - for my primary uploader I continue to use an add-in solution. Specifically I use plUpload and I'll discuss how that's implemented in my next post. Although I think that plUpload (and many of the other packaged JavaScript upload solutions) are a better choice especially for large uploads, for simple one file uploads input boxes work well enough. The advantage of this solution is that it's very easy to handle on the server side.   • C# file write permission issue under "Program Files" folder

    Hello everyone, I am using inno setup to make a installation package for my application, and my application is written by C# + .Net 2.0 + VSTS 2008. Inno setup = http://www.jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php and I install my application under Program Files/Foo folder (Foo is my application name). My application is targeting to Windows Vista. The issue I found is my program cannot write to the folder Program Files/Foo. And I need the permission of write to this folder in order to save some configuration files. The strange thing I notice is the folder Program Files/Foo is marked as readonly and I have checked all folders under Program Files are marked with read only, such as Office. My questions are, Why all folders are marked as read only under Program Files? It means we should not write to individual application folders under Program Files? If not, where should we write information to disk like user last selected configuration information of an individual application? If we could write to individual application folders under Program Files, what is the solution? I do not want my application to Run As administrator to solve this issue, and if there are solution to write to this folder, I want to require minimal permission if possible. thanks in advance, George

  • Problems importing WAR files in Eclipse?

    I was unfortunately forced to result to uploading a WAR file as my backup for a web application I am working on. Luckily I have the most recent WAR file available. I am using Eclipse IDE and am using the Web Tools plugin for all the J2EE work that I am doing with the Dynamic Web Application Project. When I imported my WAR file, and ran it on a local server, everything works fine. The problem I a ran into is that in the Java Resources/src folder that all my packages and .java files were now only consists of all the same packages, but they are empty. I checked to see if I could find the files and I found the .class files in an "Imported files" folder that is not accessible in the Eclipse Project Explorer. I believe that I need to do some type of build or something so that my .java files are available for me, but unfortunately this is one area where I lack. One thing I would also like to know is, one way or the other, am I able to obtain the .java source code files if I have access to the .class files? Also, I would like to configure this environment as it was before where my Java Resources:src folder contaiend the packages and .java files.

  • Access/Download server files, not in site root, with PHP

    Usually I save documents (images, mpegs, excel, word docs, etc...) for my friends or family on my website's root, inside a directory called /files/ or something similar. Nothing too uncommon. But, I have been playing with user session control, and allowing users to upload files to the dedicated /files/ directory. (the file names are saved in a db, with that user's ID) But, that means other people could try to guess and locate other people's files. I do randomize the file names, upon upload. And I stop the apache from displaying the /files/ directory content. However, I'd like to start saving the files outside of the website's root. This way it can't be accessible via the browser. I don't have any code to show, but I didn't want to even start on this endeavor if it's not able to be accomplished. I did find this snippet that shows how to display an image, from outside your website root: $file = $_GET['file']; $fileDir = '/path/to/files/'; if (file_exists($fileDir . $file)) { // Note: You should probably do some more checks // on the filetype, size, etc. $contents = file_get_contents($fileDir . $file); // Note: You should probably implement some kind // of check on filetype header('Content-type: image/jpeg'); echo $contents; } ? Maybe I can use this for any file type, but has anyone heard of a better way to allow users (logged in) to access their files from online, but not letting other users has similar access?
