    There is one similar list for Windows XP/2003 here. Is anybody aware of a version of such list for Windows 2008/7 mentioning valid input locale ID strings for all languages and keyboard layouts? NOTE1: If you are interested to know, I am going to use that ID in the scripts such as this one and the last example in this page NOTE2: In this page, it shows the format of language id as used by the input.dll exported method named SetDefaultLayoutOrTip (Which is probably used by the regarded script engine)

  • Kill named running screen with -X only works after reattached

    Hello I am using ubuntu 8.04.4 and would like to start daemons like this: screen -dmS SESSIONNAME script.sh Then i want to kill these screens with -X like so screen -S SESSIONAME -X kill But, this does not work. Only if i attach and detach that session it gets kill'ed with above command. What am i doing wrong? I would like to not have to attach/deattach the session to kill it since i want to use fabric scripts that start/stop daemons remotly. - Thank you

    I have the following in my Apache conf to get PHP-FPM working: FastCgiExternalServer /srv/www/fast-cgi-fake-handler -host 127.0.0.1:9000 AddHandler php-fastcgi .php AddType text/html .php Action php-fastcgi /var/www/cgi-bin Alias /var/www/cgi-bin /srv/www/fast-cgi-fake-handler DirectoryIndex index.php This works fine except that SCRIPT_NAME is always /var/www/cgi-bin and some scripts use SCRIPT_NAME to work out the location of the current script (vBulletin). Google has plenty of solutions for Nginx but not a word for Apache.

    See this NYTimes url: http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/02/war-in-the-cabinet/?hp If we type opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/02/war-i in browser, it automatically redirects us to the above article, the only article in that folder starting with "war-i". How to do this in a site with apache, which serves static html files only? That is, if there is a apache module, without adding scripts, that would be best.

  • Batch convert AppleWorks files into PDF within originating folder, delete original file?

    Probably AppleScript is the way to go with this - I have found scripts online that do this, but snag on oversize printable area and put files in the same folder - I need files to stay in the folder the source came from. If the script also deleted the original AppleWorks file, that would be even better, but not required.     Is there a way to monitor ec2 instances without using cloudwatch? I ask this since ec2 instances are basically VPS's, and using output from commands like top, vmstat, htop in scripts may not give the clear picture as the CPU cycles are shared between other instances as well. What should one keep in mind while monitoring CPU usage on a VPS?, should one have alerts based on top load or % of CPU used by user processes coupled with other factors like processes waiting on disk io, hardware interrupts?

    I have some old classic asp scripts. They used to work on my 2003/IIS 6 server. But on my Vista/IIS 7 and now Windows 7 Ultimate/IIS 7 server the asp pages don't work. I did what they said here: Deploying a Classic ASP Server (IIS 7) (Microsoft TechNet). I enabled those 3 features in IIS 7 but that just went from getting 404 to 500 error.

  • Why don't cfn-init logs get sent by rsyslog?

    I just signed up for Papertrail to aggregate logs from some AWS instances I'm setting up with CloudFormation::Init. I've followed the instructions and added *.* @logs.papertrailapp.com to the end of '/etc/rsyslog.conf'. Some logs are showing up on Papertrail, but notably the contents of '/var/log/cfn-init.log' never get there, and those are the ones I'm interested in right now. Have I set up rsyslog incorrectly? Or do the CloudFormation::Init scripts just not use syslog to write log information?
