Find value within a range in lookup table

I have the simplest problem to implement, but so far I have not been able to get my head around a solution in Python. I have built a table that looks similar to this one: 501 - ASIA 1262 - EUROPE 3389 - LATAM 5409 - US I will test a certain value to see if it falls within these ranges, 389 -> ASIA, 1300 -> LATAM, 5400 -> US. A value greater than 5409 should not return a lookup value. I normally have a one to one match, and would implement a dictionary for the lookup. But in this case I have to consider these ranges, and I am not seeing my way out of the problem. Maybe without providing the whole solution, could you provide some comments that would help me look in the right direction? It is very similar to a vlookup in a spreadsheet. I would describe my Python knowledge as somewhere in between basic to intermediate. Many thanks in advance.

Pass dynamic value in URL with CakePHP

I have the following method that performs an Ajax request passing some dynamic value obtained from a select input. However I do not have access to the <body> tag so <body onload="" will not work here. Unable to return large result set ORA-22814

Hello All I am encountering an issue when I am trying to load a large result set using a range query in Oracle 10g. When I try a smaller range (1 to 100), it works but when I try a larger range(1 and 1000), I get the following error "ORA-22814: attribute or element value is larger than specified in type" error. I have a basic UDT (PostComments_Type) and I have tried using both a VArray and a Table type of PostComments_Type but that hasn't made a difference. Rails -- Cant set value for date_select in form

I'm pulling data from an API where the date data comes in as "2008-02-11 00:00:00 " I would like that data to go into my form within the date_select as a value so I can view it correctly before I add it into my database. The view looks like <%= f.label :start_date %><br /> <%= f.date_select :start_date, :value => " #{@stdate[idx]} " %> The object is actually an array of dates since I'm doing this action several times do thats why the [idx] is there; serving as an index. <%= @stdate[idx] % ends up outputting "2008-02-11 00:00:00 " but the fields for the date_select helper only outputs the current date "2010" "June" "5" in those dropdown date selects fields... Do I need to set the values of the Year, Month, and Date Individually? I have Chronic and tried to parse the object before using it as a value for the date_select and that didnt work either. Any ideas?

I want to make a copy of an object, then after some logic, re-assign the original object the value of the copy. example: User userCopy = //make a copy foreach(...) { user.Age = 1; user.ID = -1; UserDao.Update(user) user = userCopy; } I don't want a copy by reference, it has to be a copy by value. The above is just a sample, not how I really want to use it but I need to learn how to copy by value.

WPF TextBox value doesn't change on OnPropertyChanged

I have a TextBox whose Value is binded to a ViewModel property: <TextBox Name="txtRunAfter" Grid.Column="4" Text="{Binding Mode=TwoWay, Path=RunAfter}" Style="{StaticResource TestStepTextBox}"/> The set and get were working fine until I tried to add some validation when the Value is set: private int _runAfter = 0; public string RunAfter { get { return _runAfter.ToString(); } set { int val = int.Parse(value); if (_runAfter != val) { if (val < _order) _runAfter = val; else { _runAfter = 0; OnPropertyChanged("RunAfter"); } } } } Although the OnPropertyChanged is reached (I have dubugged that), the View is not changed. How to return an enum ID instead of the enum text in WebAPI

I am using the WebAPI with .NET 4.5. I have a enum called DareStatus which is a list of statuses and their corresponding integer ID's. To minimize bandwidth traffic I want to send the int values of the enums, not the full text as it is currently doing. (I have control over the client so I can map it on the clientside). (i am using a XPathNavigator in my method) <testsystem> <test> <name>one</name> </test> </testsystem> I was able to get a attribute with a syntax alike this: (but when changing the xml struture it no longer holds a attribute value) string name = nav.GetAttribute("name", "") But have no luck getting the value with a nav as of yet. How are value types implemented in .NET

Been looking around the net and can't find any articles about how value types are actually implemented. For instance, an Int32 is a struct and it's direct parent is System.ValueType and that's ultimate parent is System.Object. Object is a class - I imagine ValueType is a class? What's the class hierarchy? What part does the CLR have to play? At what stage and how does the CLR know to allocate value types to the stack? (FYI, I am aware that value types are stored where they are declared).

I have C++/CLI code and I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite Code Coverage. The code header: // Library.h #pragma once #include <string> using namespace System; namespace Library { public ref class MyClass { public: static void MyFoo(); static std::string Foo(); }; } The code implementation: #include "Library.h" using namespace Library; using namespace System; void MyClass::MyFoo() { Foo(); } std::string MyClass::Foo() { return std::string(); } I have a C# unit test, that calls MyClass.MyFoo(): [TestMethod] public void TestMethod1() { Library.MyClass.MyFoo(); } For some reason, I don't get a full code coverage for MyClass. The Foo() method has 3 uncovered blocks and 5 covered blocks. The closing curly brackets (}) are marked in orange - partially covered. I have no idea why is it partially covered instead of fully covered, and this is my question.

Question: What's would be a good way to solve this problem? (indexing method returns based on the active language) What I have tried: I created a function that runs a loop over every available language (from settings) appending any translation to a list, evaluating this against the query, pre search. If any colors are matched it converts them backwards into their numeric representation to evaluate against obj.color, but this feels wrong.

Return result of block passed to #scan during regex

I've searched and not been able to find the right way of doing what I'm trying to. I read a file line by line and want to create a new object from a regex on each line. I'm not using an XML parser because the data is not well formed and listed below is all I need to get from each line. I can't seem to get scan to return the result of the block. It just returns the original string. I have temporarily gotten around it by creating this temp variable, but I'm sure there is a better way. enum = File.foreach(filename) enum.map do |line| temp = nil line.scan(/<cab id="(\w+)" updates="(\d+)"/) { |a,b| temp = Cab.new(a,b) } temp end Thanks for any help.

Hello, i'm building a template engine for my next project, which is going great. It replaces {tag} with a corresponding value. But, i want {tag[0][key]} to be replaced as well.
