  • I am trying to deploy my first rails app using Capistrano and am getting an error.

  • Recover a folder or file in TortoiseSVN whilst also retaining all history.

    - by Topdown
In revision 1 a folder existed. In revision 2 the folder was accidently deleted and the change committed. We wish to roll back such that the folder is present, and retain its history. In the TortoiseSVN docs it indicates 'how' in the section titled "Getting a deleted file or folder back". To quote: Getting a deleted file or folder back If you have deleted a file or a folder and already committed that delete operation to the repository, then a normal TortoiseSVN - Revert can't bring it back anymore. But the file or folder is not lost at all. If you know the revision the file or folder got deleted (if you don't, use the log dialog to find out) open the repository browser and switch to that revision. Then select the file or folder you deleted, right-click and select [Context Menu] - [Copy to...] as the target for that copy operation select the path to your working copy. A switch retrieves the file into my working copy as one would expect, however there is no "Copy to" option on the context menu when I right click this working copy. If I open the repos browser, there is a copy to option, but it seems this simply takes a copy of the file. The solution I feel is to do a Branch/Tag, but if I try this from a prior revision to the same path in the repository SVN throws error that the path already exists. Therefore, how do I recover a folder/file in TortoiseSVN whilst also retaining all history. TortoiseSVN v1.6.8, Build 19260 - 32 Bit , Subversion 1.6.11,

  • SQLCEException was unhandled: Internal Error: Cannot open the shared memory region

    - by dwaz
I am trying to do a TableAdapter.Fill(dataTable) and it fails with the above error. Here is the code in Zenware.DataSet.Designer.cs [global::System.Diagnostics.DebuggerNonUserCodeAttribute()] [global::System.ComponentModel.DataObjectMethodAttribute(global::System.ComponentModel.DataObjectMethodType.Fill, true)] public virtual int Fill(ZenwareDataSet.BatchPDADataTable dataTable) { this.Adapter.SelectCommand = this.CommandCollection[0]; if ((this.ClearBeforeFill == true)) { dataTable.Clear(); } int returnValue = this.Adapter.Fill(dataTable); // <---Fails here. return returnValue; } This is generated code. Maybe there is something that I need to change? I am wondering if my app has multiple connections to the database. What can this be? Thanks for any help you can provide. • NSThread shared object issue

    - by Chris Beeson
    Hi, I'm getting an “EXC_BAD_ACCESS” but just can't work out why, any help would be massive - thank you in advance. The user takes a picture and I want to do some processing on it in another thread... - (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info { ... NSString *uid = [Asset stringWithUUID]; [_imageQueue setObject:img forKey:uid]; [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(createAssetAsyncWithImage:) toTarget:self withObject:uid]; } Then the new thread -(void) createAssetAsyncWithImage:(NSString *)uid { NSAutoreleasePool * pool =[[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; if ([_imageQueue objectForKey:uid]) { Asset *asset = [Asset createAssetWithImage:[_imageQueue objectForKey:uid]]; asset.uid = uid; [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(asyncAssetCreated:) withObject:asset waitUntilDone:YES]; } [pool release]; } Which calls +(Asset *)createAssetWithImage:(UIImage *)img { .... UIImage *masterImg = [GraphicSupport createThumbnailFromImage:img pixels:img.size.height/2]; .... return newAsset; } And then this is where I keep getting the BAD_ACCESS +(UIImage *)createThumbnailFromImage:(UIImage *)inImage pixels:(float)pixels{ CGSize size = image.size; CGFloat ratio = 0; if (size.width > size.height) { ratio = pixels / size.width; } else { ratio = pixels / size.height; } CGRect rect = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, ratio * size.width, ratio * size.height); UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(rect.size); //NSAssert(image,@"image NULL"); [image drawInRect:rect]; return UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); } It's image that is giving me all the complaints... What am I doing wrong?? Many thanks in advance

  • Are Cross Domain Flash Shared Objects (LSO aka Flash Cookie) possible

    - by user85155
Hi, I found several solutions for creating Flash LSOs from JavaScript (for example: http://www.nuff-respec.com/technology/cross-browser-cookies-with-flash ) If Page (www.hostA.com/index.html) and the .swf file are from the same site, everything works fine. No I'm trying to load the page form www.hostA.com/index.html, which includes www.hostB.com/flashcookie.swf (different sites). But then I cannot read or store the LSO. I have tried several configurations (crossdomain.xml, Security.allowDomain("...") ), but nothing works. Is this kind of cross domain access to a LSO possible? Thanks -stephan

  • MapViewOfFile shared between 32bit and 64bit processes

    - by MK
    Hi, I'm trying to use MapViewOfFile in a 64 bit process on a file that is already mapped to memory of another 32 bit process. It fails and gives me an "access denied" error. Is this a known Windows limitation or am I doing something wrong? Same code works fine with 2 32bit processes. The code sort of looks like this: hMapFile = OpenFileMapping(FILE_MAP_ALL_ACCESS, FALSE, szShmName); if (NULL == hMapFile) { /* failed to open - create new (this happens in the 32 bit app) */ SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES sa; sa.nLength = sizeof(SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES); sa.bInheritHandle = FALSE; /* give access to members of administrators group */ BOOL success = ConvertStringSecurityDescriptorToSecurityDescriptor( "D:(A;OICI;GA;;;BA)", SDDL_REVISION_1, &(sa.lpSecurityDescriptor), NULL); HANDLE hShmFile = CreateFile(FILE_FAXCOM_SHM, FILE_ALL_ACCESS, 0, &sa, OPEN_ALWAYS, 0, NULL); hMapFile = CreateFileMapping(hShmFile, &sa, PAGE_READWRITE, 0, SHM_SIZE, szShmName); CloseHandle(hShmFile); } // this one fails in 64 bit app pShm = MapViewOfFile(hMapFile, FILE_MAP_ALL_ACCESS, 0, 0, SHM_SIZE);

  • How does symbol binding work for shared libraries in linux

    - by bbazso
When compiling a cpp program with g++ -O0 I noticed that my binary does not contain the symbol for the empty string (basic_string): _S_empty_rep_storage When I do compile this same program with -O2 I notice that the aforementioned symbol is indeed contained within the binary as follows (using nm on the bin): 00000000006029a0 V _ZNSs4_Rep20_S_empty_rep_storageE@@GLIBCXX_3.4 My application uses several .so (dynamic libraries) and when my aplication loads I notice that several of these .so files bind as follows (I set LD_DEBUG=all and ran my program): 28596: binding file /home/bbazso/usr/local/lib/mydynamiclib.so [0] to /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 [0]: normal symbol `_ZNSs4_Rep20_S_empty_rep_storageE' [GLIBCXX_3.4] 28596: binding file /home/bbazso/usr/local/lib/mydynamiclib.so [0] to /home/bbazso/workspace/mytestapplication [0]: normal symbol `_ZNSs4_Rep20_S_empty_rep_storageE' [GLIBCXX_3.4] 28596: binding file /home/bbazso/workspace/mytestapplication [0] to /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 [0]: normal symbol `_ZNSs4_Rep20_S_empty_rep_storageE' [GLIBCXX_3.4]** But I also noticed that one of my .so only binds as follows: 28087: binding file /home/bbazso/usr/local/lib/anotherdynamiclib.so [0] to /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 [0]: normal symbol `_ZNSs4_Rep20_S_empty_rep_storageE' [GLIBCXX_3.4] but never binds to the binary (mytestapplication) as shown above for the mydynamiclib.so. So I was wondering what this actually means? Does this mean that anotherdynamiclib.so will use a different symbol for the empty string above than the rest of the application? I guess what I'm really asking is how does symbol binding work in the context of the example above? Thanks!

  • JPA @TableGenerator shared between multiple entities

    - by Mauricio
Hi Guys, I have a 'dog' Entitiy with an @Id and a @TableGenerator ... @TableGenerator(table = "seq", name = "dog_gen", pkColumnName = "seq_name", valueColumnName="seq_val") @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.TABLE, generator = "dog_gen") private Long id; ... Is there a way to reuse the same table generator (dog_gen) in other entity? I want to keep the same id sequence in two independent Entities, say dog=1, dog=2, dog=3, cat=4, cat=5, dog=6 and so on... Both entities don't share a common superclass to implement some kind of inheritance with the id property. If I add the @GeneratedValue( generator="dog_gen") on my cat entity, omitting the @TableGenerator declaration throws an Exception saying it can't find the generator when starting the context. • SQLite assembly not copied to output folder for unit testing

    - by Groo
Problem: SQLite assembly referenced in my DAL assembly does not get copied to the output folder when doing unit tests (Copy local is set to true). I am working on a .Net 3.5 app in VS2008, with NHibernate & SQLite in my DAL. Data access is exposed through the IRepository interface (repository factory) to other layers, so there is no need to reference NHibernate or the System.Data.SQLite assemblies in other layers. For unit testing, there is a public factory method (also in my DAL) which creates an in-memory SQLite session and creates a new IRepository implementation. This is also done to avoid have a shared SQLite in-memory config for all assemblies which need it, and to avoid referencing those DAL internal assemblies. The problem is when I run unit tests which reside a separate project - if I don't add System.Data.SQLite as a reference to the unit test project, it doesn't get copied to the TestResults...\Out folder (although this project references my DAL project, which references System.Data.SQLite, which has its Copy local property set to true), so the tests fail while NHibernate is being configured. If I add the reference to my testing project, then it does get copied and unit tests work. What am I doing wrong?

  • Shared value in parallel python

    - by Jonathan
Hey all- I'm using ParallelPython to develop a performance-critical script. I'd like to share one value between the 8 processes running on the system. Please excuse the trivial example but this illustrates my question. def findMin(listOfElements): for el in listOfElements: if el < min: min = el import pp min = 0 myList = range(100000) job_server = pp.Server() f1 = job_server.submit(findMin, myList[0:25000]) f2 = job_server.submit(findMin, myList[25000:50000]) f3 = job_server.submit(findMin, myList[50000:75000]) f4 = job_server.submit(findMin, myList[75000:100000]) The pp docs don't seem to describe a way to share data across processes. Is it possible? If so, is there a standard locking mechanism (like in the threading module) to confirm that only one update is done at a time? l = Lock() if(el < min): l.acquire if(el < min): min = el l.release I understand I could keep a local min and compare the 4 in the main thread once returned, but by sharing the value I can do some better pruning of my BFS binary tree and potentially save a lot of loop iterations. Thanks- Jonathan

  • HMVC/PAC - how to handle shared abstractions/models?

    - by fig-gnuton
In HMVC/PAC, what's the recommended way to code if two or more triads/agents share a common model/abstraction? Do you instantiate a new instance of that model wherever needed, and propogate a change in one to all the other instances via the controllers? Or do instantiate one model at some common upper level, and inject that instance wherever needed? (Or neither if I'm missing something fundamental about these patterns?)

  • Thin permissions in etc folder (Ubuntu)

It works fine, but only if I manually add the folder /etc/thin and set the permissions to 777 in order to use the command below: thin config -C /etc/thin/testapp.yml -c /var/www/testapp --servers 1 -e production If I don't set it to 777, I get this error: me@UbuntuRails:/etc$ thin config -C /etc/thin/testapp.yml -c /var/www/testapp --servers 1 -e production /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/gems/thin-1.5.0/lib/thin/controllers/controller.rb:115:in initialize': Permission denied - /etc/thin/testapp.yml (Errno::EACCES) from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/gems/thin-1.5.0/lib/thin/controllers/controller.rb:115:inopen' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/gems/thin-1.5.0/lib/thin/controllers/controller.rb:115:in config' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/gems/thin-1.5.0/lib/thin/runner.rb:187:inrun_command' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/gems/thin-1.5.0/lib/thin/runner.rb:152:in run!' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/gems/thin-1.5.0/bin/thin:6:in' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/bin/thin:19:in load' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/bin/thin:19:in' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/bin/ruby_noexec_wrapper:14:in eval' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p286@rails328/bin/ruby_noexec_wrapper:14:in' I don't like to set this folder to a 777, sounds like a rubbish workaround. I run everything from an admin user account, not root. RVM runs from my admin user and gem only works in my admin as well. If I sudo that action, nothing happens because my root doesn't "know" thin. Which is the correct way to handle this? Thanks!

  • RIA Services and Shared domainlogic??

    - by NPehrsson
I'm kind of disappointed at Ria Services. I like to work in a domain driven design way, so for example if I'm working with an invoicing system I have an object invoice which will have all methods on it to for example calculate total price from its invoice rows. public decimal Amount { get {return Entries.Sum(x => x.Amount);} } I like to have methods to add a new row to validate in data. public void AddInvoiceRow(Article article, decimal quantity) This is functionality I need on both client and server side. Have I missed something big or is RIA Services not for me? (In the whole, I don't like Silverlight restrictions at all, I mean that we need get; set on every data field we want to transfer for example some fields are not public at all in domain driven design but the technique Silverlight offers forcing us to do bad coding.)

  • Shared User Session for Multiple ASP.NET Websites

    - by Oliver
I have been tasked with developing a single Login and Dashboard page that user can login too, the user will then be shown all the systems (we developed) that they have access based to based on some roles stored in our databases. If they logged in we would like that "User Session" (not sure of correct terminology) to be carried to which ever system they are redirected too. To illustrate a very rough overview of what I want to achieve: Is there a way that a user can login in one site, and then carry over that login to the other sites? Help, Advice, Link will be much appreciated. Sorry I am not experienced at ASP.net but have a good understanding of Silverlight, C#, WPF. Thanks in advance.

  • How/is data shared between fastCGI processes?

    - by Josh the Goods
I've written a simple perl script that I'm running via fastCGI on Apache. The application loads a set of XML data files which are used to lookup values based upon the the query parameters of an incoming request. As I understand it, if I want to increase the amount of concurrent requests my application can handle I need to allow fastCGI to spawn multiple processes. Will each of these processes have to hold duplicate copies of the XML data in memory? Is there a way to set things up so that I can have one copy of the XML data loaded in memory while increasing the capacity to handle concurrent requests?

  • Centralised/shared COM DLL, possible?

    - by vikp
Hi, We have a system that makes a use of 3rd party COM DLL written in vba We have a centralised web application and 1-50 client machines that must reference that COM DLL in order to use our centralised web application. The COM DLL is going to be updated rapidly in the future, which means that it has to be re-installed on every machine manually. Is it possible to centralise this COM DLL somwhere on the network? Is there any other alternatives? Otherwise the maintenance overhead will be huge... Thank you

  • App with MVC Virtual application shared AuthCookie.

    - by Razcer
I have a 3.5 ASP.Net WebForm parent application. The parent uses forms authentication. I have a MVC child virtual application, I would like to make it so the user logs in to the parent application, user then navigates to the virtual application by pressing a link on the parent. However every time I do this it goes to the login screen for the virtual application. Is there a web setting I should double check in Parent? Or Child? Is there an IIS setting that I should check? Should I be using a virtual directory instead of virtual application? I want the child to be able to access the Session[] from the parent. I would like the child app to use the same authCookie as the parent app.

  • Webpage shared with like button not showing in users timeline

    - by einar
I have a single pages and a one page that lists all of the single pages. On the overview page you can like each single page with their url. And of corse you can do the same when you are viewing a single page. My issue is very strange. Most of the pages that I would like show up on my timeline. But then there are some that don't show after I click like, not even if I click on "Post to Facebook". This page will not show in a users timeline if liked ore "Post'ed to Facebook". http://www.inspiredbyiceland.com/inspiration/iceland-airwaves/valdimar/ But this one will http://www.inspiredbyiceland.com/inspiration/iceland-airwaves/snorri-helgason/ But these pages are excls the same, they use the same template so the code should not be any different, and in fact I cant see any differents between these pages that could be causing this kind of problem. You can view the overview page here http://www.inspiredbyiceland.com/inspiration/iceland-airwaves/ . Most of the single pages work fine and show up on users timeline. Most of the content on the site works fine so far as I know. There is an Facebook application defined on the page. I'm not sure if that is related to this problem.

  • Webapp: safetly update a shared List/Map in the AppContext

    - by al nik
I've Lists and Maps in my WebAppContext. Most of the time these are only read by multiple Threads but sometimes there's the need to update or add some data. I'm wondering what's the best way to do this without incurring in a ConcurrentModificationException. I think that using CopyOnWriteArrayList I can achieve what I want in terms of - I do not have to sync on every read operation- I can safety update the list while other threads are reading it. Is this the best solution? What about Maps?

  • When to use certain optimizations such as -fwhole-program and -fprofile-generate with several shared libraries

    - by James
Probably a simple answer; I get quite confused with the language used in the GCC documentation for some of these flags! Anyway, I have three libraries and a programme which uses all these three. I compile each of my libraries seperately with individual (potentially) different sets of warning flags. However, I compile all three libraries with the same set of optimisation flags. I then compile my main programme linking in these three libraries with its own set of warning flags and the same optimisation flags used during the libraries' compilation. 1) Do I have to compile the libraries with optimisation flags present or can I just use these flags when compiling the final programme and linking to the libraries? If the latter, will it then optimise all or just some (presumably that which is called) of the code in these libraries? 2) I would like to use -fwhole-program -flto -fuse-linker-plugin and the linker plugin gold. At which stage do I compile with these on ... just the final compilation or do these flags need to be present during the compilation of the libraries? 3) Pretty much the same as 2) however with, -fprofile-generate -fprofile-arcs and -fprofile-use. I understand one first runs a programme with generate, and then with use. However, do I have to compile each of the libraries with generate/use etc. or just the final programme? And if it is just the last programme, when I then compeil with -fprofile-use will it also optimise the libraries functionality? Many thanks, James

  • Rolling back file moves, folder deletes and mysql queries

    - by Workoholic
This has been bugging me all day and there is no end in sight. When the user of my php application adds a new update and something goes wrong, I need to be able to undo a complex batch of mixed commands. They can be mysql update and insert queries, file deletes and folder renaming and creations. I can track the status of all insert commands and undo them if an error is thrown. But how do I do this with the update statements? Is there a smart way (some design pattern?) to keep track of such changes both in the file structure and the database? My database tables are MyISAM. It would be easy to just convert everything to InnoDB, so that I can use transactions. That way I would only have to deal with the file and folder operations. Unfortunately, I cannot assume that all clients have InnoDB support. It would also require me to convert many tables in my database to InnoDB, which I am hesitant to do.

  • Shared Variable Among Ruby Processes

    - by Jesse J
I have a Ruby program that loads up two very large yaml files, so I can get some speed-up by taking advantage of the multiple cores by forking off some processes. I've tried looking, but I'm having trouble figuring how, or even if, I can share variables in different processes. The following code is what I currently have: @proteins = "" @decoyProteins = "" fork do @proteins = YAML.load_file(database) exit end fork do @decoyProteins = YAML.load_file(database) exit end p @proteins["LVDK"] P displays nil though because of the fork. So is it possible to have the forked processes share the variables? And if so, how?
