  • How to convert closed bezier curves to Bitmaps?

    - by Sorush Rabiee
I need an algorithm to convert a closed bezier curve (perhaps self-crossing) to a binary bitmap: 0 for inside pixels and 1 for outside. I'm writing a code that needs to implement some operations on bezier curves, could anybody give me some resources or tutorials about beziere? Wikipedia and others didn't say anything about optimization, subtracting, union, knot insertion and deletion and other operations :-)

  • TWiki & Cygwin configuration

    - by gabs reyna
I'm trying to configure the cygwin to work with TWiki, I have to input this in the Cygwin bash shell: mount -b -s c:/... but it doesn't recognize the "-s", I already fixed the problem with -b, it changed the syntax and now is "mount -o binary" for the "mount -b"part. But now it says unknown option with the "-s" anyone?? help?? or what does the -s mean, so I can look it up :S

  • Tools to work with App Engine data dumps

    - by Thilo
Using the bulkloader.py utility you can download all data from your application's Datastore. It is not obvious how the data is stored, however. From the looks of it, you get a SQLite file with all data in binary format in a single table: sqlite> .tables bulkloader_database_signature result sqlite> .schema result CREATE TABLE result ( id BLOB primary key, value BLOB not null, sort_key BLOB); Are there any tools to work with this data?

  • GCC ABI compatibility

    - by Fredrik Ullner
As far as I've understood, it is not possible to link libraries that use different versions of GCC's Application Binary Interface (ABI). Are there ABI changes to every version of GCC? Is it possible to link a library built with 4.3.1 if I use, say, GCC 4.3.2? Is there a matrix of some sort that lists all the ways I can combine GCC versions?

  • Strip OLE header information (MS Access / SQL Server)

    - by crimson13
I have a C++ application that needs to support binary database content (images, etc). When using MS Access or MS SQL Server this data is wrapped inside an OLE object. How do I strip this OLE header information? Note that I can't just look for the beginning of a specific tag as the content can be png, jpg and a whole heap of other formats. Should I use something like COleDataObject?

  • How to include clean target in makefile

    - by neversaint
I have a makefile that looks like this CXX = g++ -O2 -Wall all: code1 code2 code1: code1.cc utilities.cc $(CXX) $^ -o $@ code2: code2.cc utilities.cc $(CXX) $^ -o $@ What I want to do next is to include 'clean target' so that every time I run 'make' it will automatically delete the existing binary files of code1 and code2 before creating the new ones. I tried to put these lines at the very end of the makefile, but it doesn't work clean: rm -f $@ echo Clean done What's the right way to do it?

  • Is file transfer possible to iPhone 3.0 via Bluetooth or not?

    - by Dimitri Wetzel
Is it possible to transfer files of a bluetooth device, lets say a digital pen (e.g. Nokia or Logitech io2) to the iPhone? I am interested if I could do a native application that could somehow get that binary file sent by the digital pen and do something with it. I am used to rfcomm and obex but I can only find inconclusive results when I search for that and the support in the iPhone SDK... Any ideas?

  • Java: repetition, overuse -- ?

    - by HH
I try to be as minimalist as possible. Repetition is a problem. I hate it. When is it really a problem? what is static-overuse? what is field-method overuse? what is class-overuse? are there more types of overuse? Problem A: when it is too much to use of static? private static class Data { private static String fileContent; private static SizeSequence lineMap; private static File fileThing; private static char type; private static boolean binary; private static String name; private static String path; } private static class Print { //<1st LINE, LEFT_SIDE, 2nd LINE, RIGHT_SIDE> private Integer[] printPositions=new Integer[4]; private static String fingerPrint; private static String formatPrint; } Problem B: when it is too much to get field data with private methods? public Stack<Integer> getPositions(){return positions;} public Integer[] getPrintPositions(){return printPositions;} private Stack<String> getPrintViews(){return printViews;} private Stack<String> getPrintViewsPerFile(){return printViewsPerFile;} public String getPrintView(){return printView;} public String getFingerPrint(){return fingerPrint;} public String getFormatPrint(){return formatPrint;} public String getFileContent(){return fileContent;} public SizeSequence getLineMap(){return lineMap;} public File getFile(){return fileThing;} public boolean getBinary(){return binary;} public char getType(){return type;} public String getPath(){return path;} public FileObject getData(){return fObj;} public String getSearchTerm(){return searchTerm;} Related interface overuse

  • Use different Python version with virtualenv

    - by Ulf
I have a Debian system currently running with python 2.5.4. I got virtualenv properly installed, everything is working fine. Is there a possibility that I can use a virtualenv with a different version of Python? I compiled Python 2.6.2 and would like to use it with some virtualenv. Is it enough to overwrite the binary file? Or do I have to change something in respect to the libraries?

  • Build Steps for Makefile Project in Eclipse

    - by Arnaud Gouder
I am trying to use Eclipse to build some existing software (written in C), which is built with a Makefile. For this reason I created a 'Makefile project' in Eclipse. However, I just found out, the in the 'C/C++ Build / Settings' menu, I only see the 'Binary Parsers' and 'Error Parsers' tabs. However, I really need the 'Build Steps' tabs, because I also need to add a post-build command. How can I make the 'Build Steps' tab appear in my project?

  • Cannot find typenames ("cannot resolve symbol")

    - by dotnetdev
I have a site in ASP.NET using Telerik AJAX controls. Despite the latest binary being added to the website project, my code (eg myRadGrid.Datasource = "";) shows a red line on type names as they cannot be found for some reason. Can anyone possibly explain why or have experience in this sort of problem? Thanks

  • WCF service for receiving image

    - by elgrego
What is the best way to create a webservice for accepting an image. The image might be quite big and I do not want to change the default receive size for the web application. I have written one that accepts a binary image but that I feel that there has to be a better alternative.

  • How to properly read 16 byte unsigned integer with BinaryReader

    - by Brent
I need to parse a binary stream in .NET to convert a 16 byte unsigned integer. I would like to use the BinaryReader.ReadUIntXX() functions but there isn't a BinaryReader.ReadUInt128() function available. I assume I will have to roll my own function using the ReadByte function and build an array but I don't know if this is the most efficient method? Thanks!

  • Library is missing

    - by andrejs-igumenovs
Corresponding to Wiki (http://code.google.com/p/core-plot/wiki/UsingCorePlotInApplications): "Core Plot is built as a static library for iPhone, so you'll need to drag the libCorePlot-CocoaTouch.a static library from under the CorePlot-CocoaTouch.xcodeproj group to your target's Link Binary With Libraries folder." I do not see mentioned library there..

  • WiX custom action with DTF... quite confused...

    - by Joshua
Okay, I have decided the only way I can do what I want to do with WiX (thanks to an old installer I didn't write that I now have to upgrade) is with some CUSTOM ACTIONS. Basically, I need to back up a file before the RemoveExistingProducts and restore that file again after RemoveExistingProducts. I think this is what's called a "type 2 custom action." The sequencing I think I understand, however, what I don't understand is first of all how I pass data to my C# action (the directory the file is in from the WiX) and how to reference my C# (DTF?) action with the Binary and CustomAction tags. Also, does all this need to be in a tag? All the examples show it that way. Here is what I have so far in the .WXS file... <Binary Id="backupSettingsAction.dll" SourceFile="backupSettingsAction.CA.dll"/> <CustomAction Id="BackupSettingsAction" BinaryKey="backupSettingsAction.dll" DllEntry="CustomAction" Execute="immediate" /> <InstallExecuteSequence> <Custom Action="backupSettingsAction.dll" Before="InstallInitialize"/> <RemoveExistingProducts After="InstallFinalize" /> <Custom Action="restoreSettingsAction.dll" After="RemoveExistingFiles"/> </InstallExecuteSequence> The file I need to back up is a settings file from the previous install (which needs to remain intact), it is located in the directory: <Directory Id="CommonAppDataFolder" Name="CommonAppData"> <Directory Id="CommonAppDataPathways" Name="Pathways" /> </Directory> And even has a Component tag for it, though I need to back the file up that exists already: <Component Id="Settings" Guid="A3513208-4F12-4496-B609-197812B4A953" NeverOverwrite="yes" > <File Id="settingsXml" ShortName="SETTINGS.XML" Name="Settings.xml" DiskId="1" Source="\\fileserver\Release\Pathways\Dependencies\Settings\settings.xml" Vital="yes" /> </Component> And this is referencing the C# file that Visual Studio (2005) created for me: namespace backupSettingsAction { public class CustomActions { [CustomAction] public static ActionResult CustomAction1(Session session) { session.Log("backing up settings file"); //do I hardcode the directory and name of the file in here, or can I pass them in? return ActionResult.Success; } } } Any help is greatly apprecaited. Thank you!

  • C# can't cast bool to int

    - by Svetlozar Angelov
We all know that in C# we can't cast bool to int. I wanted to see what is the binary representation of true with bitmask, but I can't use (bool & int).. I think the problem is the architecture desicion "true is true, not any number != 0" (C++) and I was wondering what the benefits of such an architecture are? What is so bad with the C true/false concept?

  • WTF is wtf? (in WebKit code base)

    - by Motti
I downloaded Chromium's code base and ran across the WTF namespace. namespace WTF { /* * C++'s idea of a reinterpret_cast lacks sufficient cojones. */ template<typename TO, typename FROM> TO bitwise_cast(FROM in) { COMPILE_ASSERT(sizeof(TO) == sizeof(FROM), WTF_wtf_reinterpret_cast_sizeof_types_is_equal); union { FROM from; TO to; } u; u.from = in; return u.to; } } // namespace WTF Does this mean what I think it means? Could be so, the bitwise_cast implementation specified here will not compile if either TO or FROM is not a POD and is not (AFAIK) more powerful than C++ built in reinterpret_cast. The only point of light I see here is the nobody seems to be using bitwise_cast in the Chromium project. I see there's some legalese so I'll put in the little letters to keep out of trouble. /* * Copyright (C) 2008 Apple Inc.
